With his time as the Blue Wolf winding down, Jason knows the dangers of looking past the next mission. And Legion has just been called to its most challenging one yet.
In a closed kingdom in Southeast Asia, a town of 5,000 people has disappeared from the map. Victims of the country’s tyrannical leader? Or targets of a shadowy reptilian race rumored to lurk deep in the rainforest?
As the Blue Wolf and his team of hunters careen from fact-finding to zombie attacks to full-on jungle warfare, Jason begins to understand why his handler urged him to reject the mission—and the unthinkable consequences of failure.
A poisonous force is gaining strength, warping minds and allegiances.
Brad Magnarella writes urban fantasy for the same reason most read it – to explore worlds where magic crackles from fingertips, vampires and shifters walk city streets, cats talk (some excessively), and good prevails against all odds. It’s shamelessly fun.
His three main series, Prof Croft, Blue Wolf, and Maddy Deeds, make up the growing Croftverse, with nearly a half-million books sold to date and an Independent Audiobook Award nomination.
Hopelessly nomadic, Brad can be found in a rented room overseas or hiking America's backcountry.

I'm soooo glad that the 7 foot tall Blue Wolf is back in action with his team saving people from evil doing magic users! This time it's a whole village in a small SE Asian country that is in desperate trouble caused by the Nga, the evil snake goddess and her enslaved followers. Lots of twists, action, suspense, and snarks kept my nose in the book till I finished it! Even if this is your first encounter with the Blue Wolf, the only thing about that is that you will find yourself gathering the earlier books to read because you want to enjoy them too! They're addictive!
I liked this one very much. It was well paced, nicely plotted, and made good use of all of the characters. The parts of the plot that were supposed to keep the reader guessing were well developed (for the most part), and the big bad was truly nasty. I am glad that the Voudun priest has finally come into his own and is becoming more useful to the team, and it was good to see how the squad operates without all of their toys available. Some downsides, the subplot with Takara was less than satisfying, given how easily it was resolved, and the thing with Sarah's "feelings" could have been left out with no harm at all to the story, particularly given that it went nowhere (I withhold further comment as it may come up again in later books). The writing, as always, is good.
Loved the first three books, loved this one. I must say that Mr. Brad Magnarella knows how to write unique, truly amazing, leaving you wanting more, books. Each character is brought to life and makes you feel as if you are in the book. There are always scary, unexpected twists and then there are moments that will make you laugh. The creatures are unique and frightening. But, it is the storyline that brings it all together and makes it great. Blue Wolf Book 5 can't arrive too soon.
I love the Blue Wolfe and his quirky team. I couldn't put this book down!! I reread the first 3 books in the series before starting on this installment and I love how the story continues with a brief telling of what's been going on since the last story finished.
I really enjoyed the description of the locations, local beliefs, and history of the area where the team travels. I felt like I was there with the team.
Fantastic storytelling. I can't wait for the next book
Fast paced, thrilling, non-stop action with deep insight into several different cultural and personal mind sets. The Blue Wolf saga continues to envelop it’s readers in a world where science and magic are two sides of the same coin. Anyone with a taste for urban fantasy should give these a try.
Jason and his team tackle another mysterious threat in the depths of the jungles of southeast Asia. This time, it's hard to tell who's friend or foe. The past comes calling for Takara and we learn even more about her. The rich descriptions make everything come alive.
This is an excellent installment in the Blue Wolf series. I found the book hard to put down. This novel expands the characters of this series. The action and plot twist are excellent. Hurry up and come out with the next installment of the series. In the meantime I'll try the Professor Croft books.
The closest call yet. A Must read of action, mind numbing events.
Despite being warned to refuse this mission as beyond the Legions talents Jason takes it. New Siam holds surprises and danger ramps up while they enter a jungle looking for the missing people that disappeared from it.
New Siam a complicated story with many twists and turns.
Captain Wolf is always looking out for him team. He is their leader and his team would follow him anywhere and do anything for him. The story was full of complex situations that affects the world as we know it. Thank God for all the hero’s on Wolf’s team that everyone was rescued.
Eight months have passed since the previous book. The new mission is in the fictitious land of New Siam where the team has been hired to find out what happened to the 5000 missing residents of a village there. Because the series is what it is there's a supernatural force behind it. Some intrigue, plenty of action and some humor makes for another enjoyable entry
More surprises as the author Introduces more obscure legendary creatures. Even as these rare mysteries unfold there is an underlying apocalyptic theme taking place. The team has gelled fairly well but now it's the organization itself that's in question. The hints the author drops say something massive is headed our way.
If you have read the other. Blue wolf books or even prof Croft books you already know how hard they are to put down ,with layer upon layer of insanity I mean thought provoking story it must be a very interesting place inside our authors head keep sharing please
Twisting plots with new and familiar characters make Blue Venom, Blue Wolf Book 4 an engaging read. I’ll read everything that you write Mr. Magnarella. Thank you.
And he’s back and I’m loving it. The angst and twists kept me from putting this on pause. I love the characters and the story and am looking forward to the next book.
