3.5 ⭐

My rating for this book is only for KA Knights Hidden below.. I didn't read the other 2 stories..

I'm keep this really short because I don't wanna give alot away. Hidden below is a Saw type-ish fic. A mad man kidnaps few people and plays a game one of them is Natahia she feels like the Main characters in this hell.. with others they are put though some hell games.. some physical and mental.. you see alot of deaths.. and no hope... even when they do play these games... it's gore and bloody... I do wish it was longer.. now I kinda want a horror romance book like this.. but with a hea 🤣🤣🤣

Angst, Drama, sexy time

Interesting.....

The Horror Emporium is quite the unique read. I found it by chance while searching for another book, and i'm honestly a big fan of K.A. Knight's work in general.

This book consists of 3 different short stories, each by a different author. I know the book is titled horror, but i'm not so sure I would consider any of the stories as horror... that's not to say they were bad... just not my idea of horror.

KA Knights story in this is Hidden Below. I suppose you could say it had a "Saw" type of feel to it? There's a LOT of gore / blood. The characters in this book are put through various games with not very much hope of living / succeeding. There's also a lot of spice in this one, haha. Out of all three, this one would be the most "horror-esque." I'd give this read 4 stars.

Muerta - This one has a day of the dead feel. It bored me a little. It was VERY predictable, and not many twists honestly. 3 stars

Misery Loves Co - Out of all three, this one had the most unique storyline of all. But for some reason, I didn't love it. I enjoyed it, just not as much as i thought. 3.5 stars.

Overall, a good, shorter book.

These were interesting stories but not exactly horror IMO. More like some crazy morbid and gory horror film than the short stories I was expecting. I don't think all the sex was necessary for books like this but I think that's just something these authors are used to lol. Had this on my TBR for awhile so I'm happy to have finally read it. The stories were interesting and quick reads. Most importantly for me they were complete short stories but as is warned there is no HEA. Perfect read for spooky season.

Wow what an amazing collection of scary, heartbreaking, soul wrecking stories! Triple Five Stars! The authors have outdone themselves and I have trouble finding words to express how much I loved this book and all three stories it contains. I especially loved the joint beginning and the ending which tie in the whole collection into one unit. Make no mistake about happy endings, the authors did warn about lack there of. And I will not waste too much time describing the greatness of these three authors because I have read all they have written and loved every single page of all of their books. They are The Magnificent Three and everything they write is superb!

*Muerta by Kendra Moreno
This story was incredibly beautiful story which was sad but also not. I have no clue how to explain that. The main character Mallory and the story revolves around the Dia de los Muertos celebration in Mexico. Mallory is accompanying her best friend to celebrate the life of her grandma and gets caught up in the street parade and has a time of her life.
It is an interesting view of what happens when a person finally decides to enjoy her life without a care, but in a wrong place, wrong time and with a wrong company. Quite a tragic journey but filled with joy and happiness.
The story is filled with beautiful vivid descriptions of the celebrations, and the author did an amazing job transporting the reader in the middle of that beautiful colourful world. I felt like there was a movie playing in my head and i loved every moment of it. And the best part is that if I was in Mallory’s shoes, i would have done exactly the same.

*Hidden Below by K.A. Knight
This was a fantastic story that reminded me a little bit of Cube, in a sense that random strangers were trapped together in a room with a no way out, completely at a mercy of an unknown person. Unknown evil person.
So this story is primarily a study of human nature. How do people behave in an impossible situation when they are afraid of dying. It is amazing how the author pulls out the best and the worst from her characters and combines it into a terrifying story of survival in the worst of conditions.
This is by far the scariest story of the book and it is full of blood and gore. Needless to say, I enjoyed it immensely.

*Misery Loves Co. by Poppy Woods
This story is so amazing. It is so incredibly original and different and brilliantly executed idea, plot and characters. It is about a girl with a weird name who angers the Fates, but they are not capable to do much about it. So the anger accumulates over the years and Fates are vengeful.
The main character is a wonderful loving person who works hard, lives her life to the fullest and has some great friends and partners. All the while being observed, watched and put in all kinds of incredibly dangerous situations. The whole story is quite poetic, from the events to the ending, and the epilogue. And again I loved it from beginning to the end.

The 3-way show their dark side in this aptly named Horror Emporium.

Muerte

Dia de los Muertos, Day of the dead. For Mallory, this is just a trip to Mexico to help her friend Myrna celebrate her grandmother’s death with her family. She doesn’t really believe that spirits and worse can walk among them. She should. And then she does. And wow, what a rush! I found myself completely immersed in the dance with death and fully as willing as Mallory to go there. Her openness and capacity to love, and how that bled into Diablo’s psyche was a bit of sweet in the larger context of unfolding doom. Kendra wove a tale that left me hoping all the way to the end and left me thinking that I’ll never go to Mexico on Dia de los Muertos!

Hidden Below

Oh my gosh. This one is truly a horror. Where I could sympathize with and see how Mallory could end up where she did in Muerte, Katie did not give me that luxury with Natasha, Lucien, Kadian and the others. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough, hoping against hope that Tash and the guys would find their way out from below. At the same time, I dreaded turning the page because each new horror was worse than the last. This is a story of hope and love in an impossible situation, but take my advice- don’t let this be the last thing you read before bed!

Misery Loves Co

Poor Misery. First she’s got to live with the name her parents gave her, and then she’s got to survive pissing off the fates. Who are super petty, and over such a little thing. Fortunately for her, she’s got a lot of luck on her side. I loved this story. It was sweet and hot-hello polyamory-with 3 hot guys. I was beginning to wonder how it fit in with the horror theme but then Poppy swooped in and horror happened. As much as I thought I’d hate the ending, I didn’t. Petty fates.

All in all, this got 5 stars from me because each of these authors created whole worlds, each story complete with an overwhelming feeling, an air about them that makes you feel like you’re there. You feel what the characters feel-sometimes a little too much lol, can see what they see, and can emotionally relate to both the MC and supporting characters. These stories are well written and well edited too, so no tripping over spelling or sentence structure, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend this book, it’s perfect for the Halloween season.

This book is made up of short stories from the deliciously wicked threesome of Kendra Moreno, K.A. Knight and Poppy Woods. These lovely ladies are wrong in all the right ways!

The first story is Muerta written by Kendra Moreno. This was such a beautifully heartbreaking story centered around Dia de los Muertos and the different beliefs and legends that go along with it. The world building was done masterfully and the characters were quick to draw me in. It brought out so many emotions in such a short amount of time that I couldn’t help but love it.

The second story is Hidden Below by K.A. Knight. This story is reminiscent of the saw movies, which I happen to be a huge fan of. It was fast paced, thrilling and gut wrenching. The “mice” are tested to their mental and physical limits. I really enjoyed this story.

The last story is written by Poppy Woods and is called Misery Loves Co. A story about three fates who want to take out a “favored” human. This short was fast, sexy, and oh so twisted. I absolutely loved the ending.

This book is rightfully classified in the horror genre and while there are happy moments there are no happy endings. Regardless, I was enthralled by it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a gory thriller.

Whoa, perfect book for October! So The Horror Emporium is sexy, scary and intense.

So we have 3 stories:
First is Muerta, wow, I loved that it. The characters Mallory and Diablo were perfect for each other. However there was more depth for Diablo, more feelings or was that just a perception. There is some sexy times in there. Yummy demon.

Second story: Hidden Below
Like oh crap this one had me on edge. It was intense, unpredictable, and scary. I was like this is crazy and scary. I couldn't put it down and needed more and to see what happens.

Third story: Misery Loves Company
Man karma can be cruel. Misery has been lucky due to her birth until something happens to change that. Before that happens she has 2 men who she loves in her life and convinces her parents to except her way of life. Well this one was quick and to the point. I loved the characters.

Overall this is a perfect book to get your horror fixed.

Do you love happily ever after and fairytale endings? Well, TOO BAD! Get outta here with that BS, and bring in Horror Emporium! No HEAs here, just lots of dead bodies and sadly ever afters? Anyway, it’s perfect for you horror lovers out there: from energy sucking fairies to a Saw-esque kidnapping, these three ladies knock it out of the horror ball park. They don’t call them the murder queens for nothing. Get this book, don’t read it alone in the dark like I did, and be prepared to have your socks knocked off.

Do you hate happy endings? Are you tired of the good guys winning? Do you ever read a book and think “I just want all these characters to die”? Then this is the book for you! There’s no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow here, just a whole bunch of fresh graves.

So take your black heart and snuggle up for some spooky, murder-y, terrifying tales by some of my favorite authors. Read in the dark if you dare.

Okay so three stories and all three are different, from the streets of Mexico, to God knows where, to Alabama.

From feeling like it should have ended different, to omg why did you do that!!!, to omg she has been corrupted by them.

You will go on a rollercoaster ride full of emotions, just not the fluffy lovey dovey ones.
Blood, gore, death and faith all come to play their parts in these amazing stories.

Come in and enjoy the horror Emporium

This book contains 3 short horror stories, each world well crafted with great characters who find love and romance. But not to worry horror fans, there is plenty of death and gore to go around and not a happy ending in sight.

Creepily good horror anthology 💀

Muerta, by Kendra Moreno, is the first story in this anthology. Very well written, I was quickly drawn into the story, easily able to envision myself wandering through the busy streets on Dia de los Muertos. Everyone deserves love...even if you may not survive it. Beautiful story ☠

K.A. Knight's story, Hidden Below, comes second. This lady has freakishly amazing writing skills. You are immediately sucked into the world she creates, and it is difficult to claw your way back out. Its amazing how she can create such in-depth characters in such a short story! This story was incredible - sexy, thrilling and scary, with definite "Saw" vibes. Will the characters make it through the games?  You'll have to step into the darkness to find out...🖤

The final story, Misery Loves Co by Poppy Woods is a paranormal story with Greek deities and Misery, a "favoured" human...or is she? There are twists and turns aplenty, with a surprising plot twist at the end...Great story! ⚾️

There are 3 very short stories in this little book, and here's the low down
Book #1 is not my thing, but I'm sure there are some girly pops that are into it. You do you boo
Book#2 was a great little horror piece, was giving saw vibes but it seemed to end without an ending *spoiler alert* she was buried alive after escaping but no emphasis on if she died or not I really needed more great little story.
Book#3 Misery is my spirit animal, and if poly relationships are your thing .... you know what to do

Not for the Faint of Heart

Horror is not usually my thing but I decided to give something new a try. I’m still not a fan of the genre but I was engrossed in this book from the first page. The stories were definitely captivating and I’m glad I read something out of my usual comfort zone. All three stories were interesting but Kendras story was my favorite.. Dante needs his own book!

Yeah, I don’t know how I feel about this… I loved the writing and the way that these stories were so vastly different from usual. Definitely not what I expected, but incredibly well executed! This is the second book of its kind that I have read and I have such a love-hate feeling about it. Short stories leave such an edge, at least these had solid conclusions… very well written and interesting!
