I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book when I read the synopsis, but I read it anyway since it’s Rilzy Adams and I enjoyed Fran’s appearance in the first book.

And it turned out to be a whole lot better than I was expecting. I loved how Rilzy Adams handled this whole dynamic in a way that was real, honest and intimate.

I can feel my obsession with this author brewing.

Heck of a journey for Fran and Andre, facing a surprise pregnancy. Both his best friend, Quentin and Patty, and his meddling mother should have stayed out of Fran and Andre's business. In addition, that hateful, insulting, speech, Andre's mama said to Fran was totally unnecessary.

First comes baby then comes love...

You, Me + Baby by Rilzy Adams is about Fran Piper and Andre Jonas. They have a one night stand that results in pregnancy. Andre has an on & off girlfriend that tek him fi idiat. Whew that girl is a mess! Andre is a great guy and he needs a woman like Fran. Fran is awesome but her aunt is wicked, she deserves a great man like Andre after all that’s she’s been through. Andre is consistent throughout the pregnancy & treats her like the queen she is. No one can stop him from building something with Fran not even his simple mother 😒 This accidental pregnancy is a Christmas blessing! They both need in each other in the best way! It’s super cute to see these parents-to-be fall in love 🥰 P.S. The Caribbean vibes are everything! I feel right at home with the tea, sorrel & jacket references.

3 stars - Cute story but there was a lot of drama for there to not be a very happily ever after ending and the hero was weak.

This was a Christmas/Valentine's Day romance about a woman who gets pregnant after a one night stand. The father of her baby has a lot going on with his on again/off again girlfriend who's a real diva. But he falls in love with her and is excited for the baby to come, although they have a lot to get through together before that happens.

I was torn on this book. It was somewhere between "liked it" and "meh" for me. I liked it better than the other one in the same series I read before this (which was about the heroine's friend) and I liked the pregnancy/ baby parts because I'm a sucker for babies. There was also a Valentine's Day date part that was very sweet and romantic. I also liked the heroine; she was strong. I liked her friendship with her best friend, especially after reading that story first. I liked that it was set in the Caribbean although I wish there were more details and description provided about the setting as it would have been even more interesting.

Now for things I didn't like. I didn't really like her love interest. He was weak! He had stayed with his horrible ex for far too long and then kept talking to her too much after he had decided he was in love with the heroine and wanted to be in a relationship with her, not just because of the baby but because it was the real thing. He wanted to take the easy way out instead of actually dealing with his ex once and for all. He DID stand up to his friend who kind of understandably kept questioning whether this was a forever thing or if the baby was even his, etc., and those parts were alright in my opinion.

There was also a whole plot line about his mother that drove me insane. She was horribly cruel to the heroine and it was the heroine who had to deal with her and put her in her place! If anyone had talked to the man I loved like that I wouldn't have them in my life at all but he was just a mama's boy wimp in my opinion (and his father was a whipped wimp too.) Everyone was too afraid to really stand up to his mom except for the heroine and even she was too much of a softie about it.

There was just a lot of drama in this book that in my opinion was handled badly, mostly be the hero. I understand that there has to be some conflict to move the plotline forward but there was almost too much of it in this book and it kind of turned me off after a while. It was repetitive and in one part the characters even commented that it was like deja vu, because he turned up at her house when she didn't want to talk to him and her friend (the heroine from the last book in the series) had to tell him she wasn't ready, etc.

One thing I will say is that I liked how the characters talked about it instead of just having misunderstandings they each broke down about silently, etc... there were some parts where they jumped to conclusions or the lack of communication dragged out longer than it should have but I thought it was pretty believable and reasonable for them to need time before hashing it out, especially considering they really didn't know each other that well. Their growth as a couple was coming along pretty well except in my opinion it had really stalled by the end.

I'll touch on that in a minute but since the rest of my review is a spoiler, I'll mention here that the editing on this book was another thing I really didn't like because it was atrocious- the author doesn't seem to believe in using commas. It drove me crazy but I kept reading although it was distracting.

*** Spoiler alert about happy for now but not happily ever after ending: ***

The ending was happy in that there was a baby but not completely HEA because they weren't married or even engaged. Not only that but she was afraid she was pregnant again because she wouldn't be ready for a baby. This annoyed me because how do you think you might be accidentally pregnant twice?? I honestly think this character was too smart to be in that predicament so to me it didn't match up with what I knew about her from the rest of the book.

And in most HEA endings I read involving secret/unplanned pregnancies, by the end they are so happy they had a baby and are trying for a sibling or already having a sibling. I didn't buy that they they were that happy because of how she was dreading a positive pregnancy test. I felt like this couple went through SO MUCH drama, from not even knowing each other to having a baby together and some issues that arose with the health of the pregnancy, his crazy ex, his awful mother (not to mention that towards the beginning when she found out she was pregnant, she was treated very badly by her aunt who had raised her because her own mother was neglectful, and that part never really popped back up again after the beginning), etc... and if they could really make it through all of that then they deserved a very over the top happily ever after and I was disappointed they didn't get it.

3.5 Stars.

This Christmas novella and second book in the Love on the Rock series had A LOT going on. The first thing to note is that this is completely standalone. All you’re missing is Fran’s BFF’s back story if you don’t read Book 1 and it’s not at all relevant to this. Overall, I liked this book more than I liked the first in the series even though it has some cheatacious, cheating-adjacent behavior in it.

The premise is that whilst Andre was on break from his on-again, off-again toxic girlfriend, he hooked up with Fran at a party with the result of a surprise pregnancy. But by the time Fran finds out, Andre is on-again with toxic ex but also ready to share responsibility for their surprise baby. But with toxic girlfriend at her most toxic, Andre’a mother stanning toxic girlfriend, and Fran not being one to take any rubbish from anyone, the feelings Andre is catching for Fran seem like they’re going nowhere.

I did like this overall, but I can see where the strongest sticklers against cheating in a romance might feel uncomfortable with certain situations and scenarios. Other than that aspect of the book, I think this was a lovely, grown up, surprise pregnancy trope romance that was beautifully executed and great for Christmas or anytime of the year because of how it was written. I recommend.

Undiscovered Love

I really liked this one. Fran and Andre were like a breath of fresh air to read about.

I was hurting for Fran. Her childhood wasn't one that was pleasant and I loathed her Aunt Luann. I hate that it took for Andre to ultimately make Fran break ties with her toxic Aunt. Even with the pregnancy, I like how Fran handled things. She could've been super petty, yet mostly took the high road. I would've let Zia, her best friend, loose on Andres ex, Ayesha. She was bitter and vindictive and just low. Either way, Fran didn't like drama and proved to be consistent with that throughout the book. She could've cussed Andres mom, Patricia, out, yet she left so she didn't disrespect her. Overall, I liked the maturity in Fran.

Andre was a sweetheart with a lot of mess going on. His on again, off again relationship with his cheating ex was A LOT🤨. I was hoping he'd just end things before they got started again, yet he let it linger when he possibly could've put a stop to her shenanigans. How you gone try to blast your ex for cheating on you, which he didn't do, when you've been cheating on him consistently throughout your 6 year relationship 😒. Despicable. Her loss was Frans gain😏. Although Andre didn't want to disrespect his mother for the mean and hurtful things she spewed at Fran, I'm glad he cut her off for a bit. Fran didn't deserve that and he was right to take up for the woman he loved and mother of his unborn child. I hope their relationship gets better, yet I'm glad Fran was the one to offer the olive branch, while still putting Patty in her place. Overall Andre treated Fran with so much love and support and I can't wait to see where things go with them.

This was another great read in this series. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Story!

I was intrigued by the synopsis, but this was so much better than I was expecting! From the very first sentence, we were thrust right into the panic of finding out you're pregnant by a virtual stranger. I love how Ms. Adams showed us their initial meeting and tryst in fondly thought of flashbacks. I hated the ex, the aunt and his mama. In that order. But I'm glad Andre and Fran took the time to get to know each other and build up a solid relationship. It helped them get past all the craziness that came their way. I really enjoyed this story! Great job, Ms. Adams!👏

the world needs more Andre’s

Uggghhh I enjoyed this so much. I have some very particular writing style and/or storytelling preferences and this hit soooo many of them. I loved everything about the ways Andre handled everything. Even the things he didn’t hadn’t perfectly because he handled them realistically which created real issues not forced issues to move the story along. Which is something I personal can’t stand. I loved everything about the way Fran handle things for the same reasons. I wanted to ride out wth Zia on Ayesha, but she was a great protagonist. Like this was just great writing! I also super loved
how this was a romance that unfolded without the anxiety.

Very good story about how a mistake that’s life changing is not the end of the world and all blood ain’t family. I loved how Andre stepped up and accepted his responsibilities and didn’t leave it all on the woman’s shoulders. What I couldn’t understand was his mother’s support for Yesha. One would think she was her daughter and not Andre. The bleeding part gave me a scare . Th Ed love and support of Fran’s friends and Andre showed that just because someone’s not blood related don’t mean they can’t be your family.

Unintended Perfection

Ohhh, I had reservations approaching this book. However, except for the brief Yesha & Patty shamance “You, Me + Baby (Love On The Rock - Book 2)” was a great read. Although bittersweet life lessons, both Fran & Andre acclimated to their new journey of romance, family & reality of “we’re in this together”‼️They discovered those former toxic relationships & or hateful relatives weren’t/aren’t conducive and beneficial for a lifestyle of peace, joy and unintended perfection 🥰‼️

I truly loved this story! I loved the journey Fran and Andre went on as they navigated getting to know one another and their personal issues.

I loved seeing Patty, Andre’s mother admit to her wrong doing; I’m a sucker for families and apologies ❤️

I do wanna square up with Fran’s auntie just off GP but I’m glad Andre helped Fran to do what was best for her in the long run.

Loved loved loved it!!!

Baby Mama Drama Not Happening

Zia's roommate, sensible Fran, has a one-night stand with the gym guy she met up with at a mutual friend's house. Said guy, Andre was on a break from his on again-off again girlfriend of six years. He kept thinking about Fran afterwards, but she ghosted him.... until she turns up pregnant. Follow along as they manage to create a family together despite their outside obstacles.

Completeness

Ahhh this was such a good read. Beautifully written. Andre was the man and I loved how he didnt play about her. I loved that he stood up for her. I really tried to like Quentin but he was pissing me off. Lol he redeemed himself but still.

Patty deserved to be rocked and yesha to. Overall great read that flowed effortlessly.

Enjoyed It!

Very engaging book! I loved how Rilzy was able to thoroughly develop the love between Fran and Andre. Too often in romance books, the authors rush the relationship and you’re left wanting. However, this love story is very much organic and authentic. Their love was believable. So kudos to Rilzy for taking us on such an enchanted journey of love with Andre and Fran.

Great Read.

Rilzy Adams has done it again. I am still in the fantasy world of Andre and Fran and truly wish the best for their future together. I see a proposal coming soon. Lol.. That is what Rilzy's books do to me. They make me believe the story is still playing out long after the book is finished.

Real good

Love on the Rock 2 was an exceptional read. I loved the characters and the way their relationship blossomed. Andre stepped up to take care of his family as he should. I loved his father Anton but, I wished his wife Patricia would have acted like a real adult instead a petulant child. Overall, the story was very good. The ending of the story was pure magic.

You, Me + Baby

What a way to start a relationship! A one-night stand leads to soooo much more for Fran and Andre. Despite all the people (her aunt..his Mom and his ex) making her feel bad and giving her a hard time..they made the relationship work. So glad this couple worked things out. Loved their vibe together.

Beautiful

This story was everything I needed right now. Fran was perfect and her reaction to the pregnancy absolutely fit that of someone pregnant by a one night stand whose last name you don't know. Andre was such a nice guy. *dreamy sigh* There are some typos so I wish the editing had been tighter, but it's not enough to effect my enjoyment of the story.

Andre and Fran❤️

Andre and Fran got pregnant from a one night stand, he stepped up, decided to be co-parents and they gradually fell in love with each other. Their story wasn’t traditional but it sure as hell ended perfect. Beautifully written, nuanced book as are all the books I've read by Ms. Adams to date. Looking forward to Quentin's story. Ha ha!

Oh Noelle

This book was short and sweet.. Andre and Fran didn't think a one night stand would have changed their lives for the better. I'm glad they were able to make things work out despite the negativity they got from people around them. This book was filled with laughter and minimal drama.

4/5 stars!

I can't believe how fast this read is! I was so hooked with Fran and Andre, I read this in two hours! I really like how Fran and Andre approached the surprise pregnancy here and I also appreciate the author's writing for that as well. I just want more during the end (i.e. longer epilogue, the relationship deal between Fran and Andre).

Rilzy does it again

This was nice Christmas book that did not center around the holiday. I enjoyed how book 2 was still during the same time as book 1 in the beginning. Excellent book by a wonderful author that ties in Caribbean flair.

Good read

It was kind of cheesy but I loved it. Although Fran got on my nerves at time she was just scared. That mama baby needed a good slap. Andre was such a stand-up guy. Loved how he took responsibility and did the right thing. Good job

...from lust to love...

Enjoyed the journey with Fran and Andre going from a one-night stand to insta parents-to-be, and every bit of drama that came with their situation. I was steadily turning pages with my eyebrows raised, an OMG, a WT Heck, and a SMH.... It was all in there...
