Sometimes the forbidden can be too hard to resist. Even for someone like me… I never would’ve imagined that I could be that person. I’ve read the stories, and seen the fallout. And yet here I am, befallen by the same fate as those who tried and failed before me. But has anyone ever felt this way about the forbidden lover? Sure he was of age, but would the world even care, or will they, if found out, just see the teacher and the student…. She might be the teacher in class, but there’s no doubt who takes the lead in our bed. I know she’s worried about us being caught, so I’ll do everything in my power to protect her, to keep anyone from knowing what we’ve come to mean to each other. But we’ve come too far to turn back. No matter what, no matter the risk, I won’t let her go.
The hero, 18, a jock and a very intelligent good boy. He is too good to be true. The heroine, 23, appointed as their new teacher. She is borderline SHY. She have magic eyes which makes anyone crazy about her (?) , so she hides them in a transitional glasses.
Both are attracted to each other. The H pursues the h. She is very shy. She hardly speaks. They start this secretive relationship.
Another guy is harassing the h. One day he attacks her and the H catches him and then that guy is arrested. The H then takes the h at her home. They shower, they eat, they f*ck. Again they shower, they f*ck, they sleep, they wake, they f*ck. He goes home, he showers, they meet again, they f*ck. They f*ck. They f*ck. And they f*ck. It’s the same cycle going.
75% of book is them f*cking. After a point I skipped the f*cking part.
There’s no ow drama. The H is not a manwhore. He is good decent boy. The h is super dumb.
First book that I read by this author and I was extremely disappointed... And I shouldn't have happened because I usually love forbidden romance between younger men and older women- especially when the woman is the submissive type and the man is the one who does not leave her alone until she yields. Anyway, I found the book very boring.
Well, to be honest, I read few books as bad as this one.
0.0000000000000000001 star
I was interested in it as I like the forbidden trope and also younger guy/older woman trope but this book was just a torturous experience I couldn't stand till the end.
It is written in dual point of view and each chapter is a long long monologue - the longest monologue you will ever see. There is either no dialogue in a chapter or the longest dialogue you can find will be only a few sentences.
I decided to DNF it around page 50 but out of curiosity, I scanned a bit further until page 100 to see if it goes on like that and it does!
And the storytelling is beyond awful. Unreadable... Feels like a torture... A punishment of some sort.
I can't tell you how badly it is written. I just have no words... Words can't tell how amateurish and how boring the storytelling is.
I read their first intimate scene and OMG, even it was as terrible as it goes.
Because there is not much dialogue, there is not enough connection or communication between the characters. And of course, there is no character development. I didn't feel any chemistry between the characters. Everything is ridiculous...
Also, why did the heroine have weird alien eyes?
Nope, nope... this must be a joke... This book... is a joke! Some people shouldn't write. I am glad I didn't pay for it.
I try to express only my most honest opinion in a spoiler-free way. Unfortunately, there is still always a risk of slight spoilers despite my best efforts. If you feel something in my review is a spoiler please let me know. Thank you.
So this was not what I was expecting. I thought it would be a romance an all, but I thought there would be a lot more focus on the taboo of a student and teacher relationship. Instead this went from a romance to a an erotica, to full-on smut. Not that I have an issue with any of those three genres but still. I was enjoying it up till about 30% in. Then it was nothing but constant sex. This is full-on adult-only here.
It wasn't just that it had so much sexual content. It was the language and words used to describe things that made it so very crass. But it was constant and it just got so boring. There was very little story development here. It would mention things like "for the next two weeks I would switch between home and her house." But that was the extent of story development. There was even an antagonist that I thought just ended so anti-climatically.
The characters were underdeveloped too I thought. Lizzie is basically a 23-year-old child, who puts everything on the line for an actual child that she just met. Drake is a selfish and controlling typical jock teen who the book claims is wise for his years. But just cause its written down doesn't change that he made seriously bad and immature choices. Not ones you would expect from someone with a good head on their shoulders. And his parents and grandparents did not react to things realistically.
Well now that I'm done ranting and raving. I should explain the extra star on this rating. The book was easy to read and follow and the first 30% was good. So I didn't hate it, and I didn't think it deserved a 1-star rating. However I don't think I will be reading anymore books by this author.
Is that such a thing as too much sex in an erotica book? If there is, then this book is the perfect example. I just wished that the story was as detailed as all the sex scenes.
This was ok. Way over the top and I struggled with the heroine. She’s the teacher but she’s so shy, she barely talks in this whole book. Her character made it pretty hard to enjoy this.
I thought the Hero was not a man-whore. But he is. And he's only 18.
"His last girlfriend wannabe could probably tell them why he wasn't perfect. But thankfully he never seriously dated anyone locally. He wouldn't have known what to do with the line of broken hearts he left in his wake if he did. Not because he was a bad guy or anything. He just hadn't met a girl that he wanted to get that serious with. Sex was one thing. He'd loved and enjoyed sex with anyone who offered, as long as he was interested from the age of fourteen."
Well, yes. Really golden boy here. And of course the Heroine is a 23 year old shy viring.
Just. Awful. The first two - TWO - chapters had all of maybe 4 sentences of dialogue. Of the boring prose that remained, much of it was sentence after sentence of multiple verb tenses and misspelled words. Is it present? Past? Yes! There are plenty of well-written and well-edited books in this genre and that are self-published to waste more time.
Oh but then there are the contradictions. Is the heroine capable of teaching elementary kids? Or does she have problems with them? It’s both! The dual POV is fine but it also switches from 3rd to 1st person. THEN there are her weird alien eyes. But who cares when the character is so two dimensional in all other respects? Honestly, I’m not even interested enough to get to the sex. And that’s saying something bc most of the other reviews gave stars based on the sex scenes alone.
ETA: On a whim I had my reader app count the quotation marks. There were 1331 total. I went back to the last book I read of comparable length. There were 1332 quotation marks somewhere in the middle of the third chapter.
I love forbidden romances like this and thought I would enjoy a teacher/student dynamic where the teacher is submissive to the student but this was really bad. The tenses kept switching for no reason until I just wanted to scream at the author to PICK A TENSE, past or present, but PICK ONE for godssake. Totally ruined any erotic element for me. Then there was the point of view, it started in third and then became first. I could not make sense of this and did not finish. Interesting premise, but the writing left a lot to be desired.
I enjoyed this taboo story. Drake is wise beyond his years in many ways. Drake took such good care of Lizzie and brought her out of her shell. There was a little bit of drama, but not really focused on. I liked that it showed the struggles that they went through to reach their HEA.
I was very skeptical when I chose this book, then when I started reading the story I was hooked, reading deeper, I realized how different this story is, this is not a typical Teacher/ Student affair, in which if you got caught you would go to jail, but more of a rescue type love story, to have F*cked up childhood as Lizzie, it's a wonder she survived as long as she did, being so alone in life, I know what's that's like, it must have been torture for my homegirl Liz, her aunt, he should be in jail, was Jealous, her cousins were Jealous, Liz is smart, innocent, kind and beautiful. Jealousy is dangerous, I am glad they are not in her life, if your family can treat you like that, who can you trust? That why I give book stars, it's not what I expected, Drake is one kind, he is the bomb, oh my god, he saved Lizzie, his mom could have called the police and had her arrested, thank God she didn't, this story was brilliantly written, I couldn't put the book down, they sure had alot is sex, Wow!! but so loving, Liz changed Drake as well, he so responsible, when I was eighteen, I was a selfish, quiet brat, I never really grew up, Drake, is a godsend, not only handsome, but snart, take charge, he knows who he is,at only 18 years old, to make sure Liz didn't get in trouble, he protected her, and focused the blame on him more, who does that, he kept his word. He is more of a man than my own dad in real life, I am blown away with your story, please I hope you speak to lifetime to put this story on TV, I was laughing and crying, Drake and Liz is married and have little daugher, this is more than just a Teacher/Student story, but humanizing story that took two people to meet by accident and become loves is eachothers lives. We need more people like Drake and Liz, the world would a better place to live in, Thank you for a fantastic story, fantastic, Master piece of work.l!!
Your typical student teacher romance with an older man who is more experience in love and sex and a young innocent 18 year old girl who still has her v-card. But this one has a twist the girl is the teacher and the student is the guy.
Spoiler warning!!!
This is the story of 18 year old student who seduces (fall in love with) his 23 years old female teacher who still has her v-card.
Thank u, next.
Definitely not the first book I should have read after coming out of a book slump.
This excitingly filthy addition is pretty old school Jordan Silver. Our hero Drake was not abusive or demeaning to our heroine in any way. He was actually very considerate and protective of Liz. This is a slight twist on the student/teacher scenario we usually see and I enjoyed it. Drake was 18 and Liz was 23. Drake definitely took the lead in all things when it came to this relationship. Liz was a shy introvert which I’m a sucker for☺️. The age difference was quite small and the taboo aspect did not play into the intimate scenes which I appreciated.
Was this story unbelievable???? Well Duh!!!🙄 Don’t come to Mrs. Silver looking for a dose of reality. We have an 18 yr old with 2 businesses, straight As, and a 13in appendage. 🔥🔥😂. Yes he can go for hours, days, weeks! There is no stopping this energizer bunny! Yes, we have a virgin who gets introduced to 13 and can’t get enough of 13🙄🙄I go into stories like this for the sex and OTT behavior. She definitely knows how to deliver the smut❤️❤️❤️It’s really no different then reading books with vampires, demons, werewolves etc. This book was tame compared to some of the “mating” scenes I’ve read.
Soooo for the cons (why this is only 3 stars for me):
* What was with the eye thing? I don’t understand the point of that. This story did not have any paranormal elements. * The heroine was too pathetic at times. How many times did he have to console her? How many times did he have to remind her to breathe???? * The hero’s mom was weird. Towards the middle/end I almost got a mafia vibe from her. She seemed really possessive of her son (the way Drake talked about her). I started getting flashbacks of that evil mom from Kindergarten cop🤨🤨 I prefer my hero (even an 18yr old) to be a badass-take charge-don’t f**** with me kind of guy.
Overall I enjoyed this book compared to her other recent releases. I hope she continues to write more heroes like this (the ones that aren’t demeaning or abusive)
I did love this one even though it was a little slow going. I thought it was a great read. Lots of steam, which I loved. No ow drama at all, the only om drama was from her stalker. Safety gang: stalker did attack her, shirt was ripped, but that was it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Teacher’s Pet is very much on-brand Jordan Silver, but with more tension and depth than her earlier, purely chaotic work. This story leans hard into discomfort, power imbalance, and obsession, and it does so unapologetically.
What really stood out to me is how the FMC is written. She’s small, timid, and intentionally keeps her head down, and that vulnerability isn’t brushed aside or magically fixed. The attention she draws isn’t because she’s loud or provocative, but because she exists quietly in a space where she shouldn’t be noticed at all. That contrast creates a lot of tension, especially once the MMCs start watching her more closely.
The MMC energy is classic Jordan Silver. Possessive, intense, and completely convinced they know what’s best. There’s no slow burn into obsession here. It’s immediate, overwhelming, and borderline unhinged in the way her books often are. What I appreciated is that beneath the OTT dominance, there’s still a sense of protection and inevitability that makes the dynamic work for fans of this trope. If you enjoy taboo romance, over-the-top alpha males, morally questionable choices, and stories that lean into obsession without pretending to be subtle, this delivers exactly what you expect from Jordan Silver.
I'd actually give it a 1.5 if I were to be generous. The first few chapters already irritated me to the point that I stopped reading it halfway because first off, the characters are way too average for me. I've read some forbidden tropes and younger man/older woman tropes that are much more better than this one. Drake, the student, is just way too of an asshole for me. And Liz, the teacher, is a f*cking damsel in distress and INNOCENT as Drake called her for someone who's a mature teacher and five years older than him. Like honey, there's no way she has innocence written all over her.
And the sex scenes were just straight out of porn at all. No passion or whatsoever. The writing was definitely mediocre and the writing for the sex scenes? 0 out of 100.
This may be the all-time forbidden taboo, but it is also a story that will touch your heart and have you in Lizzie and Drake's corner. lizzie has experienced a lot of pain and suffering having lost her parents and having to go and live with cousins that were not kind towards her. Always a loner she strived to make something out of her life and became a sought-after educator. Landing in the town Drake grew up was a blessing and a curse. She was talked into teaching a class for jocks to pass their SAT's and her life forever changed. When Drake met her, he didn't know what it was about Lizzie that drew him to her but once they were together, he had to have her. Now his purpose is to conquer and protect. Will he be able to keep the threats at bay and have a happily ever after with Lizzie?
I have to be honest, I didn't expect to enjoy it as I did reading this book. This is a typical JR book with an OTT H, although i did feel Drake was OTT, but compared to others' character, Jordan wrote he was really calm, and Liz was also a character which to be honest was really weak I enjoy it, which it was a big surprise because character like her are not my cup of tea.
I do have to say my girl Liz here is a teacher, but I just want to know when she has time to create a lesson plan for her classes? She really needs to share her time management schedule as a teacher to be able to create lesson and grade work, but also most of her time is spending a really good quality time with Drake is something admirable.
Smut. Smut. Smut and more smut. Pretty much this book was like 400 pages of sex and showering. Did I keep reading it? Yes. Was I hoping for more of an actual story to go with all the smut? Yes. Did I get that? No.
Drake seemed way older than 18 (and yes, I know that was kinda the point), but I feel they made his character too mature for the type of taboo this was suppose to be. The entire book for the most part was written in the heroes point-of-view which I get since the heroine had zero personality and zero going for her other than her “amazing weird eyes” and teensy body. Seriously all she did was fret and be kinky. Seriously.
Sigh, it was so long and ended abruptly. Too long, and hardly anything happens except sex. Don't get me wrong I love some dirty/filthy sex however this was descriptive (sometimes disgustingly so as in when the H goes right for the front door from being in the back door, ew) but not hot and sexy.
OMGosh. Highly recommend this book. This book has everything: hot, erotic, HEA, chemistry, best couple, made me LOL. I read it in KU, but I will purchase this book because I highlighted so much that I loved in this book and will definitely read it again. JS has great books, but this would be my favourite. v
First book to be read by the author Jordan Silver. I'm not about this student/teacher novel. To me it just fell flat, there was no chemistry, the herione lizzy was dull and Drake was I feel reckless, reckless with himself, his life, as well as lizzy. However I do say to my reader's give it a shot, it may not have been for me, but it could be for you.
I’m out with this author. I’ve seen her mentioned in a couple groups so I tried a couple books. I thought both were terrible. It like HS story telling. Won’t read one again.
