Corrie ten Boom and her family were Christians who were active in social work in their home town of Haarlem, the Netherlands. During the Nazi occupation, they chose to act out their faith through peaceful resistance to the Nazis by active participation in the Dutch underground. They were hiding, feeding and transporting Jews and underground members hunted by the Gestapo out of the country. It is estimated they were able to save the lives of 800 Jews, in addition to protecting underground workers.

On Feb. 28, 1944, they were betrayed and Corrie and several relatives were arrested. The four Jews and two underground workers in the house at the time of the arrest were not located by the Nazis and were extricated by the underground 47 hours after they fled to the tiny hiding place (located in Corrie's room).

The ten Boom family members were separated and transferred to concentration camps. Corrie was allowed to stay with her precious sister, Betsy. Corrie's father (Casper), her sister (Betsy) and one grandchild (Kik) perished. Corrie was released in December of 1944.

These acts of heroism and sacrifice became the foundation for Corrie ten Boom's global writing and speaking career which began after she was released.

Ten Boom has received numerous awards for her writing and speaking. Notably, she was honored by the State of Israel for her work in aid of the Jewish people by being invited to plant a tree in the famous Avenue of the Righteous Gentiles, at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, near Jerusalem. She was also knighted by the Queen of the Netherlands in recognition of her work during the war, and a museum in the Dutch city of Haarlem is dedicated to her and her family.

As these were originally Dutch radio broadcasts, I feel like something was lost in the translation to English language, devotional style print. Nevertheless, wonderful messages of Gods everlasting abundance by the one and only Corrie ten Boom.

This book is a compilation of the later radio broadcasts of Corrie Ten Boom, found by friends. It reads like a daily devotional. It covers several stories from previous books I have read, but I still found wisdom and guidance in everything she wrote. Thank you for publishing these broadcasts. God used Corrie to bring us light in our darknesses. She has been gone a long time but her light is still shining. Thank you for your faithfulness and courage Corrie Ten Boom.

Short yet very impactful and comforting read. I love how Corrie emphasizes every chapter the importance of accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. She is consistent in directing her readers to the saving grace of our Lord. I, myself, am comforted with her words. I love her way of including the scripture, her experiences, her illustrations, in making me feel I am loved with and everlasting love.

This book was really comforting. The way the author would take real life situations she experienced and relate them to the Bible was great. Quick read

I picked up this book from the library because the author is so well known and I loved her book The Hiding Place.

However, this book was an uphill battle for the publisher. It's a collection of radio broadcasts, translated into English and turned into short chapters in a book. There is no overall theme. They don't build on each other. They are a bit redundant.

The good news? It is easy reading, that brings you inspiring thoughts from an amazing lady. My guess is that the radio broadcasts were way better than the book. But as I don't understand Dutch, the book gives me another opportunity to hear more about an amazing person's view of God. So from that standpoint, I'm glad I read it.

In Messages in God's Abundance, Corrie ten Boom offers twenty-six sermonettes in which she explores the different issues that God convicted her of over the years. The messges are transciptions of her radio broadcasts, and so each one is short, very compelling, and well put together. The messages reflect on her experiences with believers and non-believers all over the world, and I found her reflections on forgiveness to be especially convicting. This was a wonderful read, and I highly recommend this book.

I never got to hear Corrie's actual voice, but I can imagine it in my mind. These were devotions, short and sweet, each solidly based upon scripture with one aim - to turn the hearts, minds, eyes, ears, and souls of others to the dear Lord Jesus.

This book is a compilation of sermons delivered by radio and needs to be read with and studied by a group rather than just read from cover to cover.
