"Strategies for learning" is the predominant theme throughout this text. The author places an emphasis on creating a readable, usable text through the incorporation of questions that prompt students to think critically rather than rely solely on rote memorization skills.

This book is a good overview of physiological cornerstones and aspects of psychological functions and conditions as well as human anatomy and physiology. It was a little heavy sometimes and hard to digest as far as being able to understand the text and concepts the first time through. it was good to have the supplementary work text.
