When Vancouver's elite convenes in the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel to celebrate and fund the new British Columbia Children's Hospital, it is a night of free flowing champagne, high class regalia and more flash than a museum could house - until suddenly everyone realizes all their precious jewels and baubles are gone.
In the space of one moment the night turns from joy to confusion.... How did it happen? How were they all robbed, at once... without anyone seeing a thing?
Diana Hunter works for a news and crime magazine, yet her past experience and impressive, Sherlock Holmes-like skills mark her as an asset only the government could have trained.
Those skills are soon put to the test when the Superintendent of the Vancouver Police Department calls her in to work the case. Thrown together with a talented group, Diana must unravel the clues before the ghost like bandits strike again. With two successful heists behind them, Diana begins to fear the bigger picture and realizes that these 'robberies' may not just be robberies after all....
Interview with the Author of the series
Q - So, what makes the Diana Hunter series special?
A - When I set out to write these books, I wanted to create something that mirrored exactly the kind of books I like to read. My top picks are always mystery novels, especially featuring female protagonists with attitude. Diana is badass and I can't tell you how many readers tell me she reminds them of themselves. She makes you feel you can do anything!
The Diana Hunter books are a great mix of genres. There is nothing graphic or gratuitous in these books. Your Aunt Martha could definitely read them. But they are not "roses around the cottage door" -type mysteries. They are more hard-boiled with some romantic tension, suspense and thriller action to keep things interesting!
Overall, the Diana Hunter series is designed to keep you turning the pages - and I've made sure there's never a dull moment.
Q - In what order should I read the books?
A - The Diana Hunter mysteries can be read and enjoyed in any order, however, Hunted is a prequel to the other books in the series. Unlike the other books, it is not a complete mystery. It relates the events that create the backdrop to the series and fills in some of Diana's personality and motivations. You don't have to have read the prequel to make sense of the later books but it will help to understand the sub plot more clearly.
I've made sure not to include any spoilers for those who are new to the characters and any existing fans of Diana's adventures will still find plenty of fresh action and mystery as well as perhaps a few answers. All in all, there is something for everyone. The events in this prequel take place a few years before Snatched, the first book in the Diana Hunter series of mysteries.
If you do want to read them in order, I'd suggest the following sequence:
Hunted (prequel)SnatchedStolen (coming soon)Chopped (coming soon) Q - So, why should readers give these books a try?
A - Because the Diana Hunter series is a fast, fun, thrill-ride that takes no prisoners! Our heroine kicks butt but has a soft center. We want her to win out even when she's making poor decisions and alienating those who can, and want, to help her. I think most women will see a little, or a lot, of themselves in Diana Hunter.
Ultimately, readers who enjoy lightning-fast pacing with a plot that twists and turns all the way to the end will get a kick out of this series.

Rubbery at the fund raising event. Diana Hunter called in as advisor, with the help of old friend she has to solve the mystery before next scheduled ball. She's a good observer of body language and good at using her feminine charms. Learned about Scopolamine=Hyoscine.
I love Diana Hunter and this book did not disappoint. That she was once again in contact with Peter was good news for me. Not so much for Diana. They have their issues. The mysterious theft was really ingeniously told. I loved the story, the mystery, and the romance.
I was so happy to receive this copy for review. It is such a good series.
Journalist and amateur sleuth, Diana Hunter butts heads once more in this second book in the Diana Hunter series, with Vancouver PD Peter Hopkinson, who has a peculiar obsession with her as a vulnerable woman in need of protection from nasty reality, when in fact she's determined, resourceful and has great integrity when it comes to solving crimes and making things right for their victims.
When valuables go mysteriously missing from all guests at a charity gala, why are police stumped? What clue does Diana find - and how? What is she afraid of finding during her search? What is particularly dangerous about what she does find? Who is Donnie Cavanagh and what is his involvement in the case? What is Carl Granger plotting and how does Diana stop him?
Once more the lovely Alison golden has given us a delightful outing for a quick-witted feisty female who can more than match her male 'would-be' superiors...a great little read!
Great Diana Hunter mystery, and I can't wait for the next adventure! Diana again teams up with handsome Detective Peter Hopkinson (much to Peter's chagrin) to solve the case of a series of ingenius high-end robberies. As always, Diana is a kick-ass heroine, and Peter has to be macho and overly protective, never believing her when she says she can take care of herself. Diana's past is still shrouded in secrecy, and no progress has been made in the cases from the prequel, which I hope will happen in the next book. All in all, a fun and suspenseful read. A great mystery, and great chemistry between Peter and Diana, who seem to be the only ones obliviious to what's really going on between them, made even more fun with the addition of two more detectives on the case, who are obviously smitten with Diana.
An incredible quagmire! Diana Hunter is called into the case to try and put the puzzle pieces together. Her strength and self-assuredness intrigues two of the Vancouver Detectives and the Superintendent, but Peter who still carries the guilt of getting her involved in the PD and danger in the first place butts heads with Diana on this case. And he is still curious about her history which is still classified from everyone. They fight like brother and sister, and still won't allow their attaction for each other to bleed through. Yet they make a great team. The book is a fast read because you don't want to put it down. Each Chapter end makes you want to dive into the next. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
This is the first book in this series that I have read and now I have to go back and read the rest. I loved Diana. She's smart, intuitive, tough, confident, and beautiful. She knows her stuff. Peter is a typical homicide detective. Gruff, tough, no nonsense. They are so different that they rub each other the wrong way, but they are attracted to each other. They have to work together to solve this case, and what a case it is. Hundreds of people at a charity ball were robbed all at the same time, but no one remembers what happened. I loved the premise of this case, and it was fun seeing how Diana solved the case.
Looking for something light and quick? Stolen could fit the bill. Diana Hunter is smart and beautiful (of course), the story is fairly formulaic, but just complex enough to keep me interested. I found myself rolling my eyes that so many plot points depended on the protagonist's off-the-charts good looks (can we retire this overused trope, please?), and the characters seemed rather two-dimensional, but overall it was entertaining. If you're not expecting more, you won't be disappointed.
While trying to wrap up an article she has been working on and preparing to take Max for a walk, Diana Hunter receives a call from the VPD Superintendent. Everybody who attended a gala the previous night had been robbed of their valuables. The Superintendent calls Diana in to assist with the investigation. It seems that nobody remembered when or how they were robbed. After their last case, Hopkinson does not want Diana anywhere near VPD, but he has no say in the matter, since it was the Superintendent who requested her assistance. This is the second time in just a few days that many people have been robbed with no memory of the event. It seems that there is another big gathering scheduled to be held at the same venue in a couple of day that will include many people with money and plenty of influence. This leaves Diana and the VPD a very narrow window in which to unravel the mystery of how the thefts were committed. Diana turns to her connection with the underworld, Finn Cavanaugh, to get a clue on where to start.
How did the thieves steal so much without anybody realizing it at the time? Why don't the victims remember being robbed until later? Will Finn be able to help or is it a wild goose chase? Will Diana be able to resolve the tension between herself and Hopkinson?
Allison Golden has another tense thriller with this Diana Hunter mystery. This story is more complex and has longer chapters than the previous book, which makes for slightly slower reading for me, but it still had no problem holding my attention clear to the end.
This story is a real thrill ride! And it's based on the most unusual and hard to figure out crime I have ever heard of. Be prepared for some fun as Diana Hunter figures it out. She is amazing. I wish I could see her in action, but in my minds eye she is beautiful, as all the guys who meet her think as well.
The Vancouver crime scene is turned upside down by a new player who has a sinister plan. Two crimes with no witnesses...only victims who don't remember anything. But Diana keeps digging and comes up with the answer. How she does it amazes everyone except Peter Hopkinson, who has worded with her before and saved her life once. He is now very protective and doesn't want her involved. I think he has more than a professional interest in her.
Anyway, Diana makes good use of her prior background and training to get things done. And everyone except Peter appreciates her and admires her abilities. It's both fun and frustrating to see the interaction between Diana and Peter, and that helps to add some spice to this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who is turned on by a great mystery!
There is a big gala event at the Four Seasons Hotel. Everyone is having fun until one lady discovers her necklace is gone. Then everyone checks if they have valuables missing. Yes, the do!! Necklaces, bracelets, watches, wallets have all been taken. Nobody remembers anything that happened. How can all these people have gotten robbed at the same time? How come no one has any memory of it? Diana has been called in to help with the investigation. What kind of clues will she find? How does she go about solving this puzzling case? Is something developing between Peter and Diana? Plot is well constructed and story is very well written.
Everyone who was important attended the big gala. They were dancing, drinking champagne, munching on fancy finger foods when one of the guests reached up to touch her throat and said her jewels were missing. Everyone checked and found they had no jewels, watches, rings, wallets, anything on their person of value was gone! They had been robbed. No one remembered anything of the robbery. How could this have happened. How could they all be robbed at the same time with no memory of it.
Some Kindle Unlimited, some freebies some freebies for signing up, With the Diana Hunter ones too short and no resolution at ends, Reverend Annabelle major plausibility issues etc, Inspector Graham is not the usual British mystery of at least some clues here and there and his attitude is rather unlikeable overall.

When a theft is discovered with none of the victims able to remember the details, Superintendent Donaldson calls Diana in to help. This fast paced story draws you in. Fascinating plot that threatens the safety of the people of Vancouver, BC, and familiar characters with a few great new ones thrown in, will have you rivited to your chair. Highly recommended!
So TRAGIC that most modern authors have such a Very Limited Vocabulary! They - for some unknown reason - abuse words that belong only to GOD viz. HOLY, JESUS, GOD, CHRIST. In this context, they also use horrific oxymorons. This is blasphemy and Will be severely punished in due course. Believe it! That said - again! - this book loses one star from me. Otherwise would have been a brilliant read. Come on people!?
This is the 3rd book in this series Diana Hunter but you could read this as a stand-alone book. I am a fan of all Alison Golden books and this is no exception. Amateur sleuth, Diana Hunter butts once more is thrown in with Vancouver PD Peter Hopkinson. This time an event at the Four Seasons hotel comes to an end when the guest realize they have all been robbed. How did this take place? Well, that is what Diana and Peter have to find out.
Fun, fast, mystery set in Vancouver Canada. Diane, editor at a crime magazine, used to work for the Canadian government, now aids the Vancouver Police Department. She’s asked to assist after an entire ballroom is robbed of its valuables, but no one remembers how or when. The answers is scary beyond belief. The story is fast paced and over before you know it. Thriller light, but very enjoyable with a great heroine.
Diana Hunter is a woman that can take care of herself. She is smart, daring, beautiful and not afraid to get her hands dirty. I really enjoy reading about her life. I would like to meet Peter "Hot"- kingdom in person, I swoon just imagining his great looks. I can't wait to read more.
Diana Hunter returns to assist the Vancouver police in their investigation of a robbery at a gala event. The victims, who lost all their jewelry, wallets, watches, have no memory of the robbery. Now Diana must join forces with Detective Peter Hopkinson to determine how the crime was committed. A fun, relaxing read.
Book 3 of series. Well written keeping with saga of Diana and the Vancouver police dept, specifically Peter. Just a mention of her past in this one. Hoping as the series continues we'll get to see Diana reunite with her best friend Teddy and solve the mystery of her parents death.
Diana Hunter assists the Vancover police in an investigation. There robbery at a gala event. The victims have no memory of the robbery though they lost their jewelry , wallet's and other items. Diana joins with Det Peter Hopkinson to figure out how the crime was committed and to catch the criminals .A well written story.
This book was very different from any other cozy mystery that I have read. I loved that I was taken by surprise as to what was going on. It was very difficult to put it down when I got into the exciting parts. To say that I enjoyed it, is an understatement. Don't miss this fast paced excellent mystery.
Had this one awhile on my TBR list! I'm mad at myself now for waiting so long to read it. I hadn't been a fan of cozy mysteries before, now I'm heading to fan status! Very well written, great characters (love Diane and Peter!), And a great story line! High on my recommendations list!
Diana Hunter is called by the VPD an organization in Canada. It is 10 years after her first episode. She is needed to help solve thefts that people can't remember being robbed. Diana gets connected with Det. Peter Hopkinson again. Gets into the case and runs into a big problem. A very exciting read!
Great read! Diana gets into the middle of another mess. Exciting page-turner that you can't put down. Her quick mind always helps to solve the problems whatever they might be. Put the Diana Hunter series on your "list to read"!
While it's not the most enthralling plot, I really enjoyed the character and being able to read this without the foul language. I definitely look forward to completing this series.
A smart, secure, wisecracking woman pitted against criminals and detectives who think they're the ones with all the brains and skills. The action is exciting, the pace fast, and the plot very interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Another one that I wish half stars were here for. Fun and fast but the dialogue and writing got repetitive after a while. The male lead seemed overly angry but maybe I need to read the other books in the series and I'll understand his anger.
It was alright. Diana Hunter, the main character, is portrayed as an over the top female detective with mysterious previous government training and expertise that is now a tad bit rusty. Her skills seem somewhat over the top or is it the detectives skills are not up to par?
