Florida. Where Weird goes to Die.
What better place than the Sunshine State for black souls to live out their golden years? After all, who would notice?

Uh … Bobbie and Grayson?

As a vagabond conspiracy chaser, Grayson’s motto is, “Have RV, will travel.”

As a broke PI wannabe, Bobbie doesn’t have much choice but to follow his sketchy lead. But every road Grayson traverses seems to lead to the bizarre, the unexplained, and taco-induced heartburn.

Body snatchers. Vampires. Bad moustaches. Mommy issues.

It’s hard to decide which is scarier.

Good thing Bobbie’s got Grayson to help her sort it all out.

Or does she?

The weirdness of The X-Files and the unwashed insanity of My Name is Earl collide to form this deliciously snarky, totally abnormal mystery series. New from the author of the best-selling Val Fremden Mystery Series!

Oral Robbers is book three in the Freaky Florida Mystery Adventures series.

Why do I love underdogs? Well, it takes one to know one.

Like the main characters in my novels, I haven’t lead a life of wealth or luxury. In fact, as it stands now, I’m set to inherit a half-eaten jar of Cheez Whiz…if my siblings don’t beat me to it.

During my illustrious career, I’ve been a roller-skating waitress, an actuarial assistant, an advertising copywriter, a real estate agent, a house flipper, an organic farmer, and a traveling vagabond/truth seeker. But no matter where I’ve gone or what I’ve done, I’ve always felt like a weirdo.

I’ve learned a heck of a lot in my life. But getting to know myself has been my greatest journey. Today, I know I’m smart. I’m direct. I’m jaded. I’m hopeful. I’m funny. I’m fierce. I’m a pushover. And I have a laugh that lures strangers over, wanting to join in the fun.

In other words, I’m a jumble of opposing talents and flaws and emotions. And it’s all good.

I enjoy underdogs because we’ve got spunk. And hope. And secrets that drive us to be different from the rest.

So dare to be different. It's the only way to be!
Happy reading!

Another wild ride in this crazy and fun series. Lots of colourful characters are to be met on this vampire hunt. Are there vampires? .... Are there paranormal things happening? .... Or what the heck is going on? - It just has to be paranormal or doesn't it?
Funny and suspenseful at the same time. A great series if you like wacky characters and a fast paced adventure that keeps your turning the pages.

This was book 3 in the "Freaky Florida Mystery Adventures" This was a pretty good read with lots of funny scenes in it. I love all the characters in this series. This series is getting better with each book and I really like the authors writing. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Bobbie is so funny that I laughed throughout the book and Grayson is so weird and yet intriguing! Add a cousin who isn't all there but is a barrel of laughs and you have the best set of characters EVER. I was a Val fan and now, I love Bobbie just as much. Cannot wait for the next book.

Being a Florida Cracker, I love these twisted mysteries. Ms. Lashley, was either born in Florida, or looks up the funniest town names she can find, and then writes her mystery.
Oral Robbers isn't just about oral fixated freaky people, it is also about either, a tent Preacher who never ages because he's a vampire or about Veterans being stolen from a nursing home for body pars.
If this doesn't get you interested in reading this book, maybe the fact that you will also have so many freaky people.

Another really fun 3 1/2 to 4 star giggle fest! I've really enjoyed the first 3 FFMAdventures and each time they deliver exactly what I'm looking for, namely, a brain break from other deadly serious (or just plain awful) stuff I've been reading that didn't have any trace whatsoever of the ha-ha's. And nothing knocks you out quicker than a low level of ha-ha's... well, not counting gettin' anemia from too many plasma donation visits... oops, that's a spoiler, ignore that...

Lashley's writing continues to be smooth and her characters hold the stories up about as well as can be expected in - or is it under? - the 'it could only happen in Florida' conditions. I confess I'm not used to reading pure mysteries (there's not a lot of 'fantasy' in these even though I keep checking those boxes on my genre table) and I sure as hell don't get the endings like I feel like I should be. But like the ugly boyfriend I used to be that still got the girl, it do make me laugh! Ah, mixed metaphors abound...

Funny stuff. Must be something in the water, because I seem to remember Dave Barry hailed from Florida.... oh but this is nothing like his stuff, don't get worked up. What I saying is: if y'all wanna relax, have some laughs, maybe forgive a few weird plot devices and just get away from it all, well, this should be your next holiday destination! Enjoy.

I am so confused ... Note: Spoilers

Too many characters, why the masquerading as a man all the time, (and how stupid are all those people that didn't see he is a she), and what happened to Joe? No one looked in the supply closet for days? It had to have smelled really bad in there. I got through the first book in the series, it was okay. Liked the second one, this third one has put me off reading any more. The characters are horrible. A,woman with absolutely no self-esteem, a supposedly educated scientist that has no idea what any idioms in the south men, and a cousin who is just plain stupid, keeps showing up to "help". The woman is used over and over to pretend she is someone she is not, regardless of the danger or humiliation that ensues. Titles should all include "Three Losers and a Gecko".

Bizzare, Funny & Interesting

Book#3 of Freaky Florida Mystery

Not the usual genre I read of late. Looking at the blurb and reviews of the first two books "Moth Busters" & "Dr. Prepper", I was a bit hesitant to read "Oral Robbers"; but wanted to give a try anyway.

For continuity and getting a feel, I read the first two books in the series before the release of Oral Robbers and ended up reading all 3 books back to back.

Bizzare was the first thought and second thought I had was 'hmmm interesting'.

The books are funny and different. Overall they are interesting reads.

A Biting Adventure and Fun Ride!

Hilarious and over the top romp with plenty of thrills, chills, and belly laughs! I’m now officially hooked on this series and can’t wait to get book four. The author spins a wonderful yarn about conspiracy theories and urban legends and the rare breed of folks that believe in them. Do yourself a big favor, grab a tootsie roll pop and join the party. Being a sunshine state resident myself makes me appreciate the eclectic bunch of characters all the more. When can Hulu make this a TV series?!

I have read many of Margaret Lashley's books. Not all are lighthearted, having said that when she does write stories that can give you a smile, giggle, or laugh out loud moment(s) she delivers. This book is one of those funny ones. The way the characters are snarky and tease each other is great! The story is great and helps add to the craziness of the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A Revival in more ways than one!

Margaret Lashley never ceases to amaze me or amuse me. Oral Robbers lives up to the hilarious standard she has set with her other books in this series. Mystery, mixed metaphors and mayhem abound! It's a laugh out loud concoction of zany characters, dim relatives and possibly a vampire or two. And if you've ever been to Florida...get your Depends on!

This is book 3 in this laugh out loud, funny series. It has quirky characters that you rally behind. Lashley's adds such real human quality to her characters. Her humor is something to be commended. I love reading her books, if you need a book to take you away from your cares, pick one of her books up and you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely enjoying this wild and ride with Bobbie, Earl , Grayson and all the crazy characters they run into. Laugh out loud funny. The search for aliens, Bigfoot, paranormal creatures is fun and crazy. Yet, there are real life searchers out there so it's a little slice of life. I was given a free ARC by the author. My review is freely and honestly given

Totally Awesome

Love love love this author! Her sense of humor is spot on and the mysteries are well done! I’m a Florida native as well and appreciate a fellow Floridian’s talent who goes to show that Florida is not just a bowl of nuts-that’s just the ones who aren’t native to our state. Now on to the next book in this totally awesome series.

I truly do love this series. After reading deep, serious, and emotional books or after a hard week, Margaret Lashley’s books provide a level of fun, wackiness, silliness, and clever ideas. These books probably aren’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. They remind me of The X-Files if it was a comedy and not a drama. I can’t wait to read the next one!

Humorous Conspiracy Theory Mysteries

Fun characters. I think my favorite is Earl. He is down to earth and genuine. He teases but never criticizes. He is someone I would want in my corner if I was in trouble. The mysteries are a little outlandish. Most of the fun is in the 3 main characters hypothesising outlandish situations for what caused the senior veterans to go missing. Plus there is always more than one plotline going on, which makes the books fast paced, which I like.

And I thought my Grannies had strange ideas

So, Bobbie and Gray are on the hunt again. For missing Veterans at a retirement home. Was it Vampires, Psychic Vampires, an Incubus, a Succubus, or a Faith Healer? No matter what Earl is joining in even though Topless Tacos is really a taco restaurant.
I love these books!

Enough

I've read three and that's enough. Silly stuff . Gave it a good chance to develop but it just got more ridiculous. Comparing this to Hiasen is like comparing 2+2 to e=messaged. I'm out.

PI in training

As our favorite PI in training goes under cover, in a nursing home, our characters develop further. Missing vets, tacos and healing preachers all come together to create a good summer read.
