Nick and Sue

Red Rockets And Rainbow Jelly

Rate this book
Sue and Nick are best friends who like lots of different things in lots of different colours. Here, they show us some of their favourite things from purple hair and all things blue to red cars and red dogs. The artwork is stunning with each artist contributing alternate pages in their own inimitable style. And, with its deceptively simple text, this bright and bold book is perfect for children learning to read.

My daughter loves the Sue and Nick books and this was no exception. This book focuses on colours.

Board book format would be best. Bright pictures, high contrast, full-page illustrations, large text, no real plot (This is Nick. This Sue. Nick likes red apples. Sue likes green pears.). Good for 12-18 months, maybe up to about 2 years, and possibly again later at 4 or 5+ when children are learning to read for themselves.

A picture book about 2 children , Nick and Sue, who like things in different colours but despite their different tastes, they are friends. Written in simple, repetitive (almost boring) sentences.
