Gabriella Welk is at a crossroads in her professional life and has just been dumped by her guy friend for younger sister. When she goes to drown her feelings the last person she expects to accompany her is Nolan Lund. Just when she thinks she was wrong about the guy, and they might have a connection, he goes and says something that hurts. But she doesn’t care what “Mr. Fancy Pants” thinks of her, right?

Nolan Lund is supposed to be the future CEO of Lund Industries, but his family hasn’t been including him in crucial decisions, and the lack of confidence burns. His serious commitment and long hours don’t seem to be enough.

In Want You to Want Me Gabriella is the athlete, and while Nolan is very masculine, he’s known for his fashion savvy and flair. In the previous books it’s usually been the male set in sports role, however the switch worked, and I liked seeing a Gabriella cast a strong athlete. The story tackled some of the stereotypes female athletes face, like being called “butch” or not feminine, having people assume you’re a lesbian because you excel in sports. And Gabriella’s confidence did take a hit over the years because of this. She questions her desirability, and so Nolan’s words at the bar hurt. Nolan has had the opposite problem, his looks and interest in looking good has had people assume he doesn’t have a head for business, or he’s gay.

Once Gabi and Nolan got past the initial hiccup over his words, they get to know each other more and more through flirty texts, reaching out to each other more and more for guidance and support. So, when Gabi gets a chance to interview for a sportscasting job and needs the perfect outfit to nail the interview she goes to Nolan for help. Oh, loved the trying on scene, sparks flying as Nolan gets a full on look at just how gorgeous is, and Gabi enjoying his lusty appraisal!

I loved this slow burn romance, the flirty banter back and forth through texts and in person was a delight! At a glance, Nolan and Gabi seemed to be complete opposites, but they got each other on a deeper, meaningful level, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing these two fall in love!

This is book two in the Want You series, but the Need You series ties in as well, featuring more of the Lund’s and their romances. I’ve loved every book, but each holds up as a standalone romance. There was some history with Gabi and Nolan in the previous book, I Want You Back, a situation I didn’t remember until I started reading this one that gives some insight into their relationship. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to read it first, and there is the fact that it was sooo good! I LOVED Lucy and Jaxon’s second chance romance so much!

4.5 Stars for Want You to Want Me: Want You Series, Book 2 (audiobook) by Lorelei James read by Troy Duran.

This is a wonderful series. This book revolves around women’s hockey and also touches on LGBQ acceptance. I’m really enjoying these characters.

* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free-A Quick Review
This is part of the Lorelei James Galaxy of her many series. When James puts her mind to it, all the books flow.

This is the second entry to the Want You series. This has Nolan, the future CEO of Lund Industries and past Olympic Hockey player Gabriella "Gabi" Welk.
These two have been crossing paths due to the past connections from friends and family. There is no love lost between them due to a combination of things. Nolan, thinking he was doing something good, took Gabi for a drink after she had been dumped by a past boyfriend. He overheard it happening and asked her out as a way to be supportive.

Unfortunately, while at the bar, Gabi overhears Nolan saying some unflattering things about her. Bam, Gabi decides fine, that is who he is, she doesn't need it.

These two cross paths again at a family gathering and Gabi, the strong woman she is, calls Nolan out on what she heard. What is important is Nolan sincerely apologizes and from there, they have a fresh start. Soon they start texting and learning more about who they really are. When Gabi needs help for an important meeting, Nolan is the one she turns to.

This story worked and also let us think there may be more to the series.

Man alive but I love the Lund collective.

This one was extra fun because it's a sports romance, but the heroine is the sporty one. The roles are flipped in a way that seems like it might not work for me - but it totally did. That is, Gabi is the sort of tomboy hockey heroine and Nolan is the metrosexual reformed manwhore and that's not even the entirety of the way the script is flipped between these two. It was refreshing and fun and honestly heartwarming.

This is a frenemies to lovers story. There is no love lost between Gabi and Nolan in the beginning, but it's all done with a sort of respectful and affectionate undercurrent. The banter quickly heats up and it was impossible not to fall for these two while they fell for each other. They're a perfect balance of sweet and sexy (and there's no question that their physical chemistry is 100% on point). I loved their relationship. I loved how they communicated so openly and honestly, and how drama free their relationship was. They were just perfect together!

That said, there was plenty of drama going on in the storyline. While I adore them, the Lund collective continues to multiply and it can be challenging to keep them all straight. Add to that some work drama and some family drama and - well, there's a lot of drama here. It occasionally failed to hold my attention, but then just like that I'd find myself sucked back in, desperate to know how it all played out. I'm so invested in this series - and in this family - that I will always be back for more. This was another fun, flirty, and emotional addition to this fantastic series! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

This was my first Lorelei James book and what a wonderful surprise it was. This was such a good twist on the stereotypical gender roles.

I loved that our main heroine, Gabi aka Gabriella, is a sportsperson. She plays hockey, has six pack abs, runs away from tough conversations, and is a very simple person.

Our hero is a metrosexual billionaire, who is getting prepped to be a CEO. He loves fashion and really cares about his experience. This has caused some issues in his life, people assuming he's gay, him turning into a playboy in the past to prove otherwise. He is a genuinely good and funny guy who really cares about Gabi.

I loved how both of the main characters had misinterpreted the other in the beginning. I loved how they got over it and became friends. Their relationship was definitely a slow burn, and there definitely was a really good burn. Their banter, their text messages, their developing relationship was such a fresh thing to read. These two didn't have ego matches.

This book was a feminist romance without the author needing to repeatedly throw it in our face that it is feminist. It just was. And it was so good to read it.

There was a little conflict at the end. The only minor issue I had was that there wasn't enough conflict in this book. I like reading such books because it's a feel good time.

I really enjoyed the way Gabi and Nolan fed off of one another with their bickering and bantering, but I absolutely loved their text messages! The chemistry was great and both were really likable characters. I liked this book so much I gobbled up the 384 pages in just 1 day, who needs sleep anyway! Since I hadn't read the first book in this series, I WANT YOU BACK, or any of the NEED YOU SERIES I didn't know any of the secondary characters and I think if I knew them and their backgrounds this would have been a 5 star read for me. This can be read as a standalone if you choose to read it that way.

I finished this like a week ago so my memory is not what it should be, but I remember really liking this and Nolan and Gabi together. I also remember thinking that the sudden twist was unnecessary and that Nolan should have done more to let his family twist in the wind considering they had no problems doing the same to him. The family stuff in this series is such a contradiction and I'm not sure if I think it's good or not. On the one hand they're all supposedly so close and on the other they regularly freeze each other out and think the worst of each other, which I guess is family for you, but it also sucks.

The Delight
Opposites attract and it blew my mind. What you think of a character from other books actually looks different when you see their side of things. I loved seeing the hero take control of his life and a heroine shove misogynist assholes in their place

Review
Nolan Lund. was the one character I wonder what a love story would look like. He comes across as a prissy boy at times, man whore at others and oddly someone you want to know why people find him the heir apparent without the power to actually be the heir. I found myself loving the fact that isn't prissy or a snob like I thought he was from other stories. He is just a man who takes pride in his appearance and doesn't mind spending the money to make sure he looks good. He's also a man who loves his privacy and a space of his home that is his and places he can go to socialize that aren't his home. Above everything, the entire family doesn't know him, and often underestimate what he can do, much to their detriment in this story.

Gabi Welk is at a crossroads in her life. Breaking up with the boyfriend that finds he loves her younger sister, coaching her sister to Olympic Gold, and now between jobs coaching young girls hockey at a local ice rink owned by a famous male retired hockey player, Nolan's brother. When she gets a chance at her dream job, she turns to the man she doesn't get along with, but who has a sense of style that can help her: Nolan. Little in common, the two work together to bring about change in both of their lives.

Two people with nothing in common, make the best couple. Why? Because neither of them are conventional people Gabi competes in a male-dominated field of hockey, but now must have a female presence we haven't seen for the career of her dreams. Nolan becomes the prince of Lund Industries after his brother turns it down, but not given the power or respect to lead the company. But what I loved is the two accepted each other for the people they are, after they get over some fighting. Nolan sees her right after her breakup and is the one person who doesn't try to embarrass her over the breakup. He listens to her life story, what she sacrificed, and how she never felt it was supported. Gabi saw him when he was frustrated for not being part of the inner parts of Lund Industry but expected to run it when his father gets sick.

The two may not have been alike, but at the root of their souls, they understood what the other felt. The inner conflict they both were dealing with in more ways than you expect were alike. A pretty boy doesn't mean a simple mind. A buff woman at the top of her sport doesn't mean she doesn't want to feel feminine. The two accepted who each other were...maybe not at first, but as it went along, the acceptance was so empowering to see.

With each story, the Lund involved has to do charity work and we get to see what they choose and what they put their time into. Nolan chose one that had me cheering! He got together LGBT (and all the other letters) teens together with adults in healthy relationships also from the LGBT community. It allowed them to see and talk with others to know they aren't alone. It was amazing to see a community event that focused on helping teens. Each book has a charity dear to the heart of the Lund, but it also inspires you to want to do more for your community.

Can I just say I love the Lund family? They aren't cookie-cutter people. They care for their community. They love as a family. But most of all, they fight like a normal family. It all makes for a wonderful story and has me hanging on to see what the next one will bring.

I wasn’t sure about this pairing; I knew it was going to happen as these two tangled back in the first book, I Want You Back, but leave it to author Lorelei James to change my mind and give me a slow burn, enemies to lovers, opposites attract story that was steamy, sweet, and emotional.

Gabriella Welk, former silver medal Olympic hockey player, only woman to be named coach to a collegiate men’s hockey team but leaves the job when the college removes the women’s team, older sister to an Olympic goal hockey player she coached to greatness, and now working several jobs including one at Lakeside for Jaxson “Stonewall” Lund, brother of Nolan, just to make ends meet and not very well is at a crossroads and knows she needs to figure out what’s next in her life; she just doesn’t expect it to include Nolan.

Nolan Lund, known as Trollin’ Nolan and the Prince of Lund Industries, has an ever rotating woman on his arm and a personal shopper/tailor on speed dial, but his older brother leaving Lund Industries, Nolan is on tap to assume the CEO position when his father retires, it’s expected, but he’s having doubts if it’s something he wants and feels it’s something his cousins think he doesn’t deserve.

I do so love couples who start out with verbal sparring and these two did a lot of that in the first book of this series. They have certain perceptions of one another, first impressions (and really second and third) that aren’t necessarily the best or true, so watching them uncover the person under the outward façade was both fascinating and intriguing. These are complex characters living up to other people’s perceptions while doubting their place in the world and trying to figure out what they want and how to be happy.

It took them awhile to peel back each other’s layers and begin to enjoy one another. To really see that despite all her bravado, Gabi was scared she wasn’t good enough to be more than a hockey coach to see that while Nolan had a flashy outside; it is the love he has for his family and the people he cares about including his personal assistant and Gabi that makes him the man he is. While they never discussed business, they did learn to really listen to one another, encourage one another, and learned to lean on one another when they needed a friend, an ear, or comfort. It was a thing of beauty to watch these two strong individuals open themselves up to one another and possibility of more.

I was a bit confused by the way Nolan (and other family members) was kept out of Lund Industries decision making and the secrets the executives kept and deals that were made without the board’s approval. Given the way the family has always interacted, this seemed out of character and while possibly warranted it just seemed to come out of nowhere.

Lorelei James delivers a sweet, sexy and emotional in all the right ways story in Want You To Want Me and gives readers another exceptional contemporary romance.

Gabi (Gabriella Welk) is a former Olympic hockey player who works at Jax’s rink (see previous book, I Want You Back). She has a frenemy relationship with Jax’s brother, Nolan, but they really don’t know one another. When Nolan goes to pick up some paperwork from Jax’s office, he overhears Gabi getting dumped by her boyfriend and offers to be her designated driver for the night. Unfortunately, he sticks his foot in his mouth, and Gabi ends up sneaking out of the bar. Luckily a heart-felt apology leads to a texting and then in-person friendship.

Nolan Lund is the odd man out among his cousins at Lund Industries; the only non “C” – he is the CEO in training, but his dad isn’t going to be stepping down any time soon. He works twice as hard to make up for his one mistake, yet he’s cut out of all major decision-making processes. Trying to turn over a new leaf and his playboy image, he’s pleasantly surprised over his budding friendship with (and growing attraction to) Gabi.

Gabi and Nolan connect because of honest and direct conversation. Instead of playing games or denying/avoiding difficult topics, they open up to one another from the start. The only thing I don’t like about this is that Gabi blames her “loose lips” on too much alcohol an awful lot, and I feel it is unflattering of her character. But that aspect goes away quickly as the pair becomes genuine friends, and Gabi relies on Nolan for help in a stressful situation. Because of the dual POVs, we discover that Nolan falls hard for Gabi from the start. I love that not only is he physically attracted to her, but likes so much about her person. It’s all the little things they do for one another that melts my heart. They fall in love quickly, and they are excited over admitting it. And because of the open communication, they are very much on the same page and recognize it’s not too soon even though it’s a short time.

While Gabi and Nolan’s journey to love seems like smooth sailing, they both have personal issues to deal with, causing conflict for the pair. Both are struggling with career-related decisions that ultimately impact each other. Rather than let the pair suffer alone, driving them completely apart, the author allows the pair to hurt and then heal through conversation and character growth.

Want You to Want Me is another delightful romance in Ms. James’s Want You/Need You series. I love how Gabi and Nolan embrace their feelings right from the start. Overall, the story is a fun, breezy read, making it great for the beach or poolside on a hot summer day.

My Rating: B+ Liked It A Lot

Nolan is the last person Gabi expected to become friends with. He's a fashionable billionaire playboy and she's just Gabi, hockey player extraordinaire who could care less about fashion, but deeply cares about the kids she coaches, and where her career is heading now that she's retired professionally. As the two frenemies become more friend than enemy an attraction burns between them. But can these two opposites possibly make a relationship work when she might be leaving for a new job, and he's very definitely sticking around trying to prove himself at the family's legacy corporation?

I adored this twist on the billionaire/sports romance. I love that Gabi is the athlete and Nolan is the metro fasionista. And I love that the slow burn turns hot at the right time and burns hot enough to melt the ice in Gabi's rink. Sports and romance is certainly done right in this frenemies to lovers slow burn romance.

This is my first book by Lorelei James and I really enjoyed it.Well I guess it's maybe this blurb that appealed to me. Normally I wouldn't be a fan of the rich guy/corporate hero but Nolan was pretty ok. He was down to earth despite being a CEO and fancy pants, he has this wicked fashion sense that while it would be weird for a guy he just dresses well and had a sense of humor. Even with his fancy car and lifestyle he's quite cool. Gabi yey for a female hockey player lead. So rare. She's tough but vulnerable. These two definitely had prior assumptions about each other that cause the frenemies status.

But after all that was cleared up I'm glad they started out as friends. It was obvious there was more later on and they really reveled in the slowness. Nolan used to be a womanizer partier he stopped on his own when he realized he didn't like it anymore wanted to be more serious. It was prior anything with his relationship with Gabi. I like that it tackled women in sports, like broadcasting and playing hockey, all the stuff behind it. Nolan was not your typical bachelor, though I just met him this seemed like a grown up version of his younger self.

After all that they dove full steam ahead, the chemistry was flying. While it may be fast in the story for me it was paced well. Their interactions made me giddy seeing this new side of both of them. Though I don't know the all the Lund family members and it was quite I get the picture.

It's great that even with their both different lifestyles they got along great. Some communication issues aside it was settled briefly. The family business issues was a surprise addition and Nolan finding his way. A bit las minute but tied up well. I'd like to know the other Lunds, I enjoyed this easy sexy romantic read.

This is the most low-stakes slash boring books I've read in a while. Gabi is a hockey coach and former player, Nolan is the brother of the guy from book one. They got off on the wrong foot, they become friends, they become lovers, they See and Support each other, it's never been like that for either of them, HEA. There's a whole side plot where Gabi is applying for a job because her current job at Jax's rink doesn't pay enough and she has to work side hustles. Why can't billionaire Jax pay his employees enough? Who can say. There's a side plot where Nolan doesn't feel adequate at his job at Family Billionaire Enterprises, which is weird because in book one he and his dad were all [fistbump] yeah you'll be the best CEO but here he's seen as not pulling weight. There's some family drama shenanigans that I'm sure relate back to the series that also had all the background for book one that was missing from that book, but I truly could not care.

Oh but shout out this book for having his admin assistant be newly transitioned and Nolan stressed he might misgender him since he's known him for years and of course not do that. That was actually cool, because I think well meaning people do have a thrum of "I don't want to [mess] this up, I support this person" going on in their brains as they get used to the new situation.

Gabi just got dumped by her boyfriend. This sounds bad. What's worse.... Nolan heard it all happen.

He decides to take Gabi out for drinks and it all unfurls from there. They're enemies, it's fine. Until it isnt fine.

I LOVE a sports romance. I'm a sucker for them. In this frenemies to lovers book the main female character Gabi is a former Olympic hockey player and I am here for it.

She is trying to determine what is next for her. Her loyalties to her family and job create tension. Add in a sexy billionaire and things get interesting.

I binged this one quick. It was an easy read with memorable moments. The easy banter and added tension of Nolan and Gabi is swoon worthy.

This is book two in a series. I didnt read the first and was able to follow along without issues.

Thank you Berkley pub and Netgalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Gabi was at a crossroads in her career. When an opportunity for her dream job fell into her lap, she knew she was qualified, but she needed to polish her look. She cringed at the thought of asking Nolan Lund, her boss’s brother, for help, but he was a total fashion plate with style for days. They agreed to trade a favor for a favor and these two pseudo-enemies were off and running.

It was a nice switch to have a female in the athlete role in this sports romance. Gabi was an incredibly talented hockey player but circumstances had her coaching kids and refereeing part-time to support herself. Being dumped by her boyfriend was yet another kick to her confidence. Nolan was also having something of a career crisis. Feeling the need to prove his worth within the family business, Nolan was under-appreciated and left out of the decision-making process at the office. I enjoyed the way Gabi and Nolan were able to be themselves with each other, without pressure or expectations, something they both needed. Their verbal sparring was so funny and I really liked the slow-burn aspect of their relationship.

I will say that it was tricky at times to keep track of the vast Lund family. During business meetings and family gatherings, when so many members of the family were present, I kind of gave up trying to keep track of all the relationships and their roles in the company. Overall, Want You to Want Me was a fun, opposites attract romance with main characters that were easy to like and pull for.

Gabriella/Gabi and Nolan just...didn't work for me.

I wanted to like this one, and I loved the idea of a sports romance where the sports star was the heroine...but unfortunately I thought there was a lot going on with this one, with his family and her sister and her career, and it took away from the story enough that I ended up skimming it to see how it ended after officially giving up on this one at 24%

I am unable to recommend this title.

I love well written romances like this book from James that allows you to lose yourself it the story and let the character do the talking. The second book in this Minneapolis St Paul story tells the story of Nolan Lund, a man at crossroads what to do professionally and personally . Nolan isn’t a bad guy, he is a known lady man but he is trying to redeem himself but doesn’t know how to do so .

This story is perfect as it needs to be slow to show the redemption of Nolan as he comes to terms where his life is heading. He has seen his big brother find his happiness and it seemed that it has clicked in his mind that he wants something as well on his terms.

Little does he know that the perfect person to change his life is under his nose. Only if they can get past their mutual dislike of each other.

The thorn in his plans is Gabi who has butted heads with Nolan every since she enter the Lunds’ life. She is a hockey player who tried to find a life outside playing competitively without being lost. Easier said than done. As she quiet quickly, Gabi is forced to confront her past with her sister Dani who now is on the USA hockey team and living the dream she left off.

She doesn’t want to know Nolan and he definitely not in her plans. Until she is forced to adapt once again her future and Nolan becomes part of it unintentionally.

This couple was obvious it was opposites attract. I love how Gabi was a decorated hockey player and knew how to spar with Nolan. It made the chase more thrilling for Nolan and when they did wake up to truth it made it all the sweeter. They both need to come to terms with their pasts and their future to realise what was under their noses. It was sweet and worth the wait playing the waiting game with these two .

These two took a long time to get to the core of their themselves and discover the truth. It’s a sweet ride to finding their person who get them and makes them break down their barriers. It’s fun and sweet romance with Want You TO Want Me and I enjoyed the story.

***5 ‘Charming & Happy’ Stars***

I absolutely loved Gabi and Nolan’s story. My cheeks are hurting from how much grinning I was doing while watching these two go from frenemies to each other’s everything and I was quite disappointed when I got to then because I didn’t want to say good-bye.

Gabi and Nolan were everything. Gabi is sweet, sassy and at a bit of a crossroads in her life. I loved how passionate she was when it came to hockey and supporting it in every way. Nolan surprised me, in a good way. He doesn’t shy away from the fact that he grew with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he may come off as a bit aloof, but he is so much more. I loved seeing how much he cares about his family ~ all of them ~ and how he had no issue with giving credit where credit was due or admitting when he did something wrong. That, along with a whole bunch of charm, totally did it for me.

Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. Their bantering, whether it be face to face or via text, was a lot of fun and I loved how they continued to surprise each other with their actions and show the other who they were beneath the surface. The chemistry between them was HAWT and I just really liked how they communicated and didn’t think that either could read minds. They have a few bumps in their road, but I liked how it all worked out for them in the end.

This was a fun read. It was low on angst, but there was enough drama mixed in to keep things interesting. One of they reasons I’m a fan girl of the author is how she brings the family dynamic to life. All the various interactions and relationships give a lot of depth to the story and really gives the reader a well rounded view of all the characters, which tends to have me wanting more. While I enjoyed hanging out with the Lunds, Dallas is still my fav and I cannot wait to get my hands on her book, but Q kind stole the show and I’m hoping we’ll get to see him again in future books!

Want You to Want Me by Lorelei James was just mindblowing. I loved loved loved every single thing about this story. The characters. The chemistry. The feelings. The storyline. The writing. Perfection from every side.

Billionaire businessman Nolan Lund is known for his charisma and impeccable fashion sense and prominent page three presence. Rather than his business acumen. No matter how hard he works to prove himself and make his family members take him seriously, he is still ignored. Gabrielle is not his type. She is a prominent women's hockey player who won many accolades for her country and now she is helping Nolan's brother aka hockey legend Jax's coaching centre. She is fierce, sassy, forward and she always speaks her mind. But somehow they click. Because just like Nolan, no one sees the real Gabi.

The slow burn is this story is absolutely epic! They start as this almost enemies kind of relationship. Gradually they come to a middle ground. I loved how they ribbed and pushed and went after each other with easy humor. Those witty and funny conversations with sexual undertones were the best. And then we move into the more serious and swoonworthy and intense territory. And I loved that part too! Nolan is a great guy. He is sweet and charming with right edge of dominance and alpha beauty. It breaks my heart to see how everyone made him doubt his own abilities. Except Gabrielle. He is basically lonely in a big family. And Gabrielle filled up his heart with colours. Similarly Gabi is always taking care of others and doing selfless things. Nolan made her feel cherished and cared and pampered. But he didn't try to control her wild and feisty side! The story arc and character development was impeccable. I was lost in their story. It was sexy. It was heartfelt. It was a bit of angsty. Just everything together.

Billionaire romance and sports romance came together beautifully in Want You to Want Me by Lorelei James. It was an intoxicating and mesmerising combination! You just cannot miss this story.

I thought this book was definitely better than the first book in the series. I wasn't quite sure how it would go since Nolan wasn't exactly nice to Gabriella before. But I'm glad I gave them a chance because they made the cutest couple and went from enemies to lovers easily enough.

Nolan wasn't the cocky guy he portrayed once we got to know him. We saw his insecurities brought on by his family and for once, I really disliked the whole Lund family. They were not the loyal and tight-knit family they were portrayed as in the "Need You" series and they just came off entitled, selfish and judgmental. By the end of this book they were humbled and I think they'll be better because of that in the future. I have to admire Nolan for standing up for himself finally.

Gabi was a very strong female character. She was a bit too no-nonsense for me in the last book, but she definitely showed her feminine and playful side in this book. She was still someone you wouldn't want to go up against though (case and point, that fight). I also liked how she stood up for herself in the end when she was being pushed away and misjudged.

Gabi & Nolan always lifted each other up and I had to appreciate them having each others backs. Nolan always made sure Gabi knew how beautiful she was. I'm sure being a female hockey player means you have to act more manly to appear tough, but Nolan saw through that tough impenetrable exterior and into the beautiful heart Gabi had.

I'm curious where Ms. James takes this series next. I didn't get the impression that any particular Lund was hyped up, unless it's one of the Duluth Lunds.

This book is a wonderful enemies to lovers, opposites attract, slow burn that will keep you turning pages to see if they can possibly find happiness with each other. My first read in the the series but I will have to go back and catch up. The Lund family certainly has my attention.

Gabi is trying to find her place in the world with a career in the world of hockey somewhere. She hasn't completely decided which way to go. She knows she loves the sport, loves playing, loves coaching and just being involved. Currently working as an assistant coach and program director, but has the opportunity of a lifetime pop up.

Nolan has his hands full working for Lund Industries, being named the up and coming CEO after his big brother steps away from the company business and purchases the arena. Clothing and fashion have always been his thing, but when you have the money to have it all why not. Struggling with his new position in the company and if this will truly make him happy. When the snarky employee of his brothers ask him for help, how can he refuse?

The more time that Gabi and Nolan spend together the more they realize that even though they are complete opposites. They seem to get each other very well. They are excepting of each other just the way they are. But will it be enough? Can they take this friendship that has started to the next level?

This book is full of quick wit and fun humor. Looking forward to some more Lund family drama.

I love this author. Prior to reading the first book in the Want You series, I had only known this author with her Western romance. She is a phenomenal author that can write anything, but I am really liking her more contemporary take on romance.

This book was much different in certain aspects of Luce and Jax's story, in the fact that other than some preconceived notions on Nolan's part there was no real history with Gabi. I enjoyed watching Nolan discover himself and how he listened to what it really was that he wanted instead of just what he was "destined" to become. Gabi was a breath of fresh air. I loved getting the chance to see her as a strong woman that was also a woman in a pretty much male-dominated sport unless it comes to the Olympics. There was a fierceness about her that I appreciated.

Much of the story was geared around to totally opposite people discovering that sometimes opposites do attract. They both offered something to the other and I enjoyed watching it blossom into something more. I wondered how these two were going to manage a relationship with the career aspirations that they both had. The author did a good job showing how, with a little compromise, they were able to manage to do that. There were some definite bumps in the road. Loved the few glimpses of Jax in the book again too.

Definitely recommend this book. It is refreshing to see a contemporary romance breaking the mold by having not only a woman in the starring role of a sports romance but seeing her as a Hockey player.

I was lucky to get a review copy of this. I will always jump at the chance to review this author and her work.

I really enjoyed this friends to lovers romance that features a female hockey player as the heroine. I've read some of the other Lund family stories and enjoyed them all, so it was great to get back into the series again with this one.

Nolan is an interesting character as he's very fashion conscious (and has the money to dress well, with his own stylist) and I enjoyed the descriptions of his clothing and when he helps Gabi dress for success in her interview with a local TV station. She is ready to move onto a new career, though she still loves coaching younger hockey players, and providing commentary for college hockey teams would be a step in the right direction. The only drawback is that the broadcasting studio works out of Duluth and she and Nolan live in Minneapolis. So their fledgling romance could get kiboshed quickly.

Nolan has his own career concerns with his sudden appointment as acting CEO of Lund industries and the corporate problems that exist in his family company at the top levels that need to be ironed out. While these two are figuring out their career choices, they realize they are attracted to each other and engage in a steamy affair that becomes more, just in time to have to deal with the reality of whether they can have a future together. It's an exciting, sporty, engaging, sexy and heartwarming romance and just what I was hoping for.

Gabi’s entire life has been focused on her hockey career but now that it has come to an end she finds herself floundering as she tries to work multiple jobs to survive. The fact that her boyfriend ended their relationship is bad enough but finding out that he loved her sister just made it that much worse as once again she puts the needs of her family ahead of herself.

Now that his brother has dropped out of the running Nolan is the heir apparent to take over the family business however even his family has doubts. He has put his playboy days behind him as he tries to show he is a changed man but that is easier said than done.

Gabi and Nolan form an unlikely alliance as they find a kindred soul in each other even though they appear to be complete opposites. The interactions between them are both humorous and hot and seeing them open up their hearts and lives to each other was magical to watch.

Want You to Want Me is a slow burn, opposites attract, friends to lovers sports romance. The hero and heroine are complex and likeable. I particularly found Gabi to be quite relatable, she’s a strong, driven women and former Olympic hockey player. She can come off as a little aloof at times, whereas Nolan is her opposite, he’s quite personal and social. Nolan is hardworking, but struggles for his work ethic to be recognized, and to be taken seriously. He’s a bit of a ladies man, and a metrosexual to boot.
The banter this pair shares is witty, fun and flirty but also antagonistic. They love to verbally spar with each other, and the tension oozes off the page.
There is quite a lot of drama around family and work, and as this was the first title I’d read in the Want You series, at times I struggled to keep all the Lund family straight. Overall an enjoyable read.

This one started out a bit rocky for me, Nolan was cold and an ass and I didn't like how he treated Gabi. I sure didn't want them as a couple. But slowly Nolan won me over, much like he did Gabi. I liked their interactions as they got to know each other better, how each of them let the real person they were through. They were so different, but each of them accepted the other and even liked those differences. Both were going through some difficult times job wise and it sucked that they couldn't talk specifics, only broad strokes. It was this that brought them down. I hated what that did a couple to them, but man...they both excelled at dealing with things on their own. Both stood up for themselves, both let those around them know where they stood and in the end, both ended up right where they needed to.

Like a lot of good concepts but execution was poor in many places.
Like commentary on gender expectations........ interesting.
A psychic cousin who’s intuitions are taken seriously.... very interesting.
Big family drama........my fucking kryptonite.

But like not enough time spend on the psychic drama and I don’t remember much of the first book so the big family dynamic got confusing a lot because I didn’t remember who the people were and how they were related.

The dialogue was very hard to read in like intimate scenes and like I had to skip a lot of the heart to heart convos regardless of who they were between. Loved the whole job application process storyline though because I can relate.

Overall takeaway is that I’m interested in going to twin cities now (because it sounds like acolder Cleveland and also my new kindle is very good for reading.
