Spring Tides at Swallowtail Bay by Katie Ginger is a heartwarming story about love, friendships, and fresh starts. Set in the idyllic little seaside town of Swallowtail Bay, it follows Stella, who wants a fresh start after her divorce. From there, we see Stella work very hard to make her business a success. The villagers are welcoming and she quickly finds herself surrounded by a supportive group of friends, and there's a possible romance with Jay, a handsome web designer. She becomes great friends with Lexi, a single mother of two who is having financial problems. She also meets her snobby neighbor Miles, who desperately wanted to buy the gift shop and holiday lets and is not happy that the owner sold it to Stella instead of him. Stella and Miles have a lot of misconceptions about each other, will it ever be cleared up?
This was such a delightful and engaging read! Stella is a lovely and kindhearted character and you can't help but root for as she works hard to build a new life for herself. We also follow the POVs of Lexi and Miles, which I enjoyed. Lexi was a wonderful character who deserved to have a happy ending as much as Stella did. Lexi and Stella were both in need of a best friend and I was happy that they found each other.
I didn't care for Miles in the beginning but warmed to him as the story progress. His character development was excellent, and I enjoyed his interactions with Stella and though they had great chemistry.
I loved spending time with the villagers of Swallowtail Bay and eagerly await the second book.

I received an ARC from HQ Digital through NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is such a great introduction to a new-to-me authors work and even better I have started reading her work at the start of a brand new series, how better could a person get?!
I will admit that even though I have heard a lot of great things about Katie Ginger’s work, this is actually my first of her books I have read and I am so pleased to say that she well and truly lived up to such great expectations and I will certainly be seeking more of her books out in the future, as I think her cheerful and feel-good writing is exactly what we need to cheer us all up in these weird days we have found ourselves in.
After her divorce, Stella and her gorgeous King Charles Spaniel; Frank, makes a dash to the beautiful village of Swallowtale Bay, where she rather impulsively buys the local gift shop plus two-holiday lets and plans to make a whole new life for herself in this quietly charming and idyllic village. There she meets a single mother and fellow divorcee; Lexi who currently works in the shop next door and as you can expect with two women having so much in common they soon make the best of friends. And Miles who is a grouchy grumbling grump, a man who is a little peeved as he had his own eyes on the very shop Stella has bought.
All s pretty much OK for Stella and her newfound way of life, that is until someone in her new home starts spreading gossip about Stella, anyone who has watched an episode of Emmerdale of Midsummer Murders will know that gossips spread like wildfire in these cosy little villages and to top it all her ex-husband is getting married and has invited her to his wedding….well, that isn’t uncomfortable, is it?
Will Stella go to this wedding? Will she get to the bottom of the gossip and who is behind it? And more than that will she be able to find her happiness in the new home she has found for herself?
I absolutely love a book which has a real friendship for life feel to it, yes there is love in there too but it is the unbreakable bond between true friends that I really loved, This is what we need more of from books, we need that added layer of good strong female friendships that the reader can relate to instantly.
This book is full of good-natured banter, romance, I love the small village community that is so strong within Swallowtail Bay, nothing is perfect but this group of intriguing and highly likeable individuals come together, I love that and it was such a joy getting to know Stella, Lexi and Miles, I am very excited to see what comes next in this series.
Overall, am enjoyable, non-taxing easy read story that is all about friendship and love, a cosy little drama that will pull at the heartstring far more times then I can count.

Definitely an antidote to troubled times.
Do I love books where the person leaves a crappy situation and forges a new life AND love in a beautiful usually quaint town in the middle of nowhere? YES, yes I do. Books like this should be what everyone is reading right now - soothing and kind to our minds and souls.

This was ok, sort of liked it, sort of teetering on my opinion about it. I really wanted to like this one more than I did though. I couldn't stay focused on it.

I think those who like a slow, easy feeling read will enjoy this one more than I did.

I loved the idea of the story, the business, the shops, the bay, the small town, people being friendly, learning about the character circumstances, how they got there, how they were coming to be, the things everyone was doing, the setting.

But getting through loads of descriptors after the first 20-30 pages really bogged down my reading experience.

I felt like I was wading around the surf in JNCO jeans. Almost two pages dedicated to describing the flat was unappealing to me. The overly detailed descriptions didn't add much depth or interest, rather they became incredibly distracting as I read on.

Just the flat, knowing everything about it being dirty, the layout, the furniture, actually leading to repetition and over-emphasis throughout the book. Then the activities of walking up to meet someone, reaching for a knob, opening doors, closing doors, glancing out windows, putting a cup to their mouth, setting the cup down, using a napkin, picking up a fork, loading the fork with cake, taking a bite, setting the fork down, their every physical move documented with every interaction.

It was just too slow-paced and bulky, cluttered for my style, obstacles to my enjoyment of what I thought was actually a really story so I will look forward to exploring more from that aspect.

I'm interested in checking out the others in the series and seeing what they are like.

The tag line for this books is ‘The perfect laugh-out-loud romantic comedy for summer!’, personally I think that’s wrong – this is the perfect laugh out loud romantic comedy for all seasons!

This is another fantastic 5* read from this highly talented author. Stella has bought a gift shop and two holiday lets in the seaside resort of Swallowtail Bay after her marriage broke down and she wanted a fresh start following her divorce. Most people are so welcoming she thinks she’s made the right decision but following his first encounter with her King Charles Spaniel, Frank, her grumpy neighbour is definitely the exception – and his fiancée is even worse!

What a brilliant community to escape into, with great characters, laugh out loud encounters and surprises galore. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and can’t wait to read more about them all in future stories based here. I have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending this story to anyone looking for a very positive, light hearted read – it’s absolutely superb!

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it and can’t praise it highly enough!

How have I never read a Katie Ginger novel before!? Wow, I was blown away by this story. It was such an enjoyable and happy read that I was gutted when it came to an end and I started quickly looking at what other novels she's written just so I could read more of her books! There is no way I could have given this less than 5 stars. The location, the characters, the storyline, everything just worked together so well and I was so hooked from start to finish.

There are 3 main characters in this novel; Stella, Lexi and Miles. Stella has just moved to Swallowtail Bay after a recent divorce and is hoping for a fresh start. Lexi is a single mum who is struggling to make ends meet and Miles is a local to the town but is having troubles with his fiance. Every character was relatable, I really liked each of their separate storylines. Stella was probably my favourite however as I wished I was as brave as her! Moving to a new town and taking on a new business all on her own.

The setting of this novel sounded so idyllic and beautiful. I loved the scenes where they're on the beach, or where the tourists are exploring around the town. It made me reminisce on similar holidays and gave me the urge to go on another one to a location similar to this! I loved when they all went to the pub with all the locals, the cafe with its friendly workers. It was all so lovely and I couldn't put it down. I think the storyline was well thought out and ended up working out really lovely (even though some parts *about Vivien in particular* made me feel quite emotional!).

Overall, a really brilliantly written and heartwarming story about friendship, new starts and new relationships. It was fabulous from start to finish and I really recommend you give this book (or maybe other novels from Katie Ginger!) a read. Thank you to the publisher for a chance to read an advance copy of this novel via Netgalley, which I have reviewed honestly.

I love Katie's books and was looking forward to this and certainly didn't disappoint me at all. It's a heartwarming story with plenty about new starts friendship romance and such a wonderful setting. Worth far more than five starts.
Stella gets a divorce and which she's trying to get over that on impulse she buys a gift shop and holiday let's in swallowtail bay and hopes it will give her the fresh start she needs. She arrives and the neighbours all give her a warm welcome so she knows she's found home. But when her ex announces he's getting married again and someone in the village starts to gossip about Stella will her dream be over before it starts. She finds a new friend and with her new friend can she over come everything and be happy or is it to much and will she find live in the new village or not. Perfect summer read.

Current status: I’m not crying, you’re crying *sniffs*. (Please note these are the happy-sappy kind.)

In my humble opinion, there’s just something about a Katie Ginger book that warms the heart.

And, I don’t know about you, but I needed that this week.

Can you imagine the courage it takes to leave behind all you have known and start afresh somewhere new? *whispers* Between thee and me, I have considered this a time or two, but you know, *shrugs* mother plus two cats (RIP Gizmo) means I’m grounded, lol. (I repeat myself; I know. *rolls eyes*)

A bit heart-sore following her divorce, Stella’s move to Swallowtail Bay is a chance to finally follow her dreams. Throwing herself fully into her new venture, Stella embraces her new beginning, no matter how scary it may feel. She may be alone at the start (with the exception of Frank, of course), but that’s all about to change...

This is a story of love (the slow burn kind) and friendships. The friends we treasure most, those who lift us up not bring us down, hold our hands in times of trouble and become the family we choose for ourselves. And the love we least expect.

I have to be honest and say that I wanted to stretch a certain character’s neck like a giraffe. I know, I know *waves hand* – bad Laura. Violence is not the answer, kids 😐.

I’ve been a fan of Katie’s since her debut release back in September 2018. With each book her writing just gets better and better. You simply forget you’re reading a story.

Along with Stella, Miles, Lexi et al, prepare to laugh, smile and cry in equal measure (not forgetting an irate or cringeworthy moment or two *smirks*). But most of all, be prepared for a feeling of happiness when you finally find where you belong.

*blows nose*

One final thought... scratch that – make it two.

1. You never know the lives you touch.

and

2. Sorry, but I have to disagree. #ColinFirth4Eva *snorts*

Stella is not completely confident in herself, even though after her divorce she takes her share of the money split and buys a shop, with holiday lets where she lives with her dog Frank .
She makes a new friend in Lexi, also a divorcee with 2 children and she meets her miserable neighbour Miles who is upset that he wasn’t sold the shop and thinks his fiancée can do no wrong despite the fact she is a rude, unlikable woman, (are men really that blind and accepting of women who are patronising to others? ) The story is good but at first I thought the main characters lacked something, but as the story unfolded everything just blended together. I love it when characters emerge and surprise you. I look forward to the next instalment.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

A light and fluffy read.
As someone who volunteers in a charity bookshop, I am aware that there are a hundred and one books, or even more, named ‘The Little Cafe’ of somewhere or other, plus variants of this e.g ‘Summer at the Cornish Cafe’, so it was a novelty to have one about a shop instead. It all felt idyllic and unrealistic, but then, that’s what these type of books are like. As this was a freebie from a publisher, and I only read it to fill in time before I start my meatier, holiday books, I can’t really slag it off too much, can I?

Always a fan of the ‘overcoming an awful time, setting up in a brand-new place where we don’t know anyone’ storyline, especially if at a seaside place. It’s perfect for the current climate where we don’t want anything too disturbing, difficult or upsetting. A lovely form of escapism in a book.
Katie Ginger, as always, gives us a lovely bunch of characters that you take to your heart. Now this story isn’t all hearts and flowers, it does contain some sadness, some moments of despair and one scene of utter grossness – but you will have a huge smile on your face by the end.
I really like Stella. She knew what she wanted, she is determined, and hard working and I liked how she really got stuck in. Of course, the lovely Lexi and she were destined to be best friends, it is a wonderful friendship that is realistic and much needed for both characters. Characters to love and characters you will hate – brilliant!
I liked how relationships have been set up and that we will be back visiting our new friends soon. I look forward to a return visit. It’s cosy and charming, I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

This book was very cute, cosy, and adorable. Unlike some of my other recent cosy romance reads this book features very down to earth and realistic characters. I'm looking forward to more in this series as the town is full of fun characters.

Oh I am so happy I gave katie Ginger a chance! I absolutely LOVED her book "Spring Tides at Swallowtail Bay"!!! And I am so happy to know that it's the first book of a serie!!!! This book was exactly the type of chicklit that I love reading! Everything in this book was cosy... the writing style, the settings, the characters, the story... everything! This book is all about second chances, about forgiveness and kindness, about village gossips and about love! I cannot wait to read the second book!! I hope it will be out soon! I give this book a 4 stars out of 5! Very good book!

This takes place in southeast England in the spring. The story is told by three characters--Stella, Lexi, and Miles. Each have had trouble in the past and are working to move forward. Miles has the most growth, but they all change for the better. The small town is delightful. The shops and townspeople, for the most part, are fun to read about. I look forward to seeing more of them in the next book.

Heartwarming and Honest

💕 Stella is ready to begin again. Since she and her husband divorced, she has decided to make a new start, it's now time to take stock of her life - quite literally!
Moving with her dog Frank to the seaside village of 'Swallowtail Bay' she embarks on a new life and a new career. The shop and apartment she has moved into are not quite what she remembered them to be when she first viewed them. Stella encounters some annoying, yet comical teething problems, but true to her character, she soldiers on.
When she meets her new neighbours, they all greet her warmly, and make her feel welcome - apart from the irritating, grumpy but none the less, handsome Miles - but even he can't dampen her enthusiasm.
She also meets Lexi, a single Mum, their new found friendship gives Stella strength and some hope for the future, but then she receives an unexpected invitation in the post, and someone in the village spreads rumours about her, Stella's dream starts to become unraveled.
This is a lovely story of following your dreams and standing out from the crowd. Stella and Lexi's friendship is wonderfully honest and Vivien is an absolute hoot!. Katie Ginger has a talent for touching the soul of the characters she writes and making them real. She writes with emotion, humour and warmth and I loved every page.

Katie Ginger is a new-to-me writer, but having read and loved this book (and the next one), I will definitely add her to my list of favourite authors.

I love stories where the main character, following a major life event, changes direction in life and takes a leap into the unknown, and this story was just perfect in that respect. Stella was such a strong, brave woman it was impossible not to fall for her and her gorgeous dog Frank. This book was such a perfect salve for my lockdown blues. There were a perfect cast of characters, from Miles who was irritable about Stella’s arrival, Vivian the former opera singer who claimed to be famous, and the adorable Lexi who needs Stella’s friendship as much as Stella needs her. There were also a few characters that you will just love to hate!

This book was so heartwarmingly lovely, that it felt like a big hug in a book. I found myself invested completely in the lives of all of the characters, and I laughed and cried along with them. Swallowtail Bay is a destination that I would absolutely love to go to, with such a warm and vibrant community, if a little gossipy!

This was such a feel good , life affirming read . The characters are totally relatable and I like that the female protagonists weren't stereotyped. Lexi and Stella were lovely characters , I liked how they were both portrayed and that they come across as people very down to earth ,with problems you can empathise with .
This is ultimately a story about the importance of friendship and how you treat people affecting how you are treated in return.
Miles is Stella's neighbour. He comes across as arrogant at their first meeting and a few misconceptions along the way create problems between them. They are both secretly attracted to the other and you're left wondering if they'll act on their feelings once the misconceptions are cleared up.
This was a beautifully written book and I was quickly engrossed in the storyline. I'd finished it within a few hours . By the time you reach the epilogue,,you feel like everything worked out like it was meant to.

I am strongly and firmly convinced that my response is an unpopular opinion amongst all the rave reviews and high ratings, but this book wasn't just the right match for me and I am saddened by it because I did want to like this book.

I didn't start this book with an intention of disliking it right from the beginning; of course not. But as I said, it just didn't click with me. Despite the promising plot, my negative impressions simply outweighed the positives.
Some side stories and scenes came across as a bit contrived or abrupt, and I didn't find the emotional shift from antimony to affinity properly explored and executed. It felt sudden and convenient.
I would have liked to be shown the story actually develop rather than be told how things went in a few lines or dictated how I am supposed to feel.
Without actually experiencing how the story proceeds, how could I be emotionally engaged to the story or get invested in the characters? This style of narrative might work with some readers but not for me.

In addition, the various attempts of dramatization and sentimentalization were obvious. I would have liked them in a more natural way. I often felt 'so, I am supposed to commiserate him/her here, I see,' but kept failing to be in the story. Besides, the main characters (including Jay) act like teenagers rather than in their late 30s. Insecurities and damage from their adolescence are all well and fine, but they could have been portrayed with a bit more maturity.

Basically, most of the things even the friendship between Stella and Lexi came across as superficial, it never felt heartfelt and genuine in my eyes. The negative impressions might have shut my mind down and I might have failed to see the true beauty in it, but that's the way I saw it.

For those reason, all the shine of what's supposed to be a beautiful story was taken away from me and I couldn't even bother to care how the story ends up. The further I went into the story, the more detached I felt.

I could go on and on and on, but I'll wrap this review up here. No rating from me because I failed to appreciate the book. My bad.

🎧 Narration
I am always in awe of a narrator who can effortlessly bring every character to life with distinctive voices!!!
Highly recommend this as a book to listen to instead of just reading.

🌶 Spice Level
You know the chemistry between the main characters is organic when there is no spice, and yet you can literally feel the intensity of their connection. This book is one of those gems.

📝Storyline and Plot
The plot of this book is very simplistic however the depth is in the characters; both main and side!!!Their stories, relationships and challenges are so woven tightly into the storyline in a way that will have you hooked till the end. That's the easiest way i can put it without giving spoilers.

⏱ Pacing
WARNING:This book is a slow burn.it is so slow that you're not sure the main characters will even get a chance to connect, with everything going on around them by 50% of the book and you know what,I fucking loved that!!!!!!

👫Main characters
I loved these two!!!!!OMG!!!They are so simplistic yet so beautifully complex that you can't help but love them.Getting to know Miles was a journey which started with a bit of suspicion but slowly grew into a love so fierce that I will beat anyone that speaks ill of him. Then there's Stella, bless her heart, with an unshakable optimism which made her see a charm in every man she met including a creepy poet who she should have probably run away from, but,I will not judge her for it😂!!!

👥 Side characters
The side characters are an absolute delight and add so much richness to the story. I genuinely can’t imagine the book without them. And Vivien…oh Vivien. I owe you an apology🥹.

⭐️ Overall rating
The easiest 5 stars i have ever given a book!!!

This is the start of a series of books by Katie Ginger, set in the glorious Swallowtail Bay.

Here in the first, Stella recently divorced puts all her money into a gift shop with some questionable gifts in it and two holiday lets in Swallowtail Bay. She has nothing to lose apart from all her money, but she has escaped what she knows and this is her chance to start again.

With only her dg Frank for company, Stella throws herself into the gift shop and starts to make a small success of it, even if some of the locals are slightly perturbed that it was her who managed t purchase the shop.

Miles had his eye on the shop as he is fed up with travelling and wants to put some roots down in the only place he has known as home - Swallowtail Bay. The gift shop seemed ideal until Stella came along.

Stella starts to fit in and make friends, single mum Lexi is trying to make ends meet by working in one of the local cafes next door and her friendship grows with Stella. As it does with some of the more older residents of the seaside town.

But even if Stella seems to be making a success of the little gift shop that you could spend a lot of time browsing in, her holiday lets are going to test her even further. You never know who you are going to get rent them. It proves for some interesting actions and reactions.

Some of the local residents seem to have a lot to say about Stella and when she is then invited to her ex husbands wedding she wonders whether it was all worth it and she is going to fail.

This really is a book full of warmth. Friendships forged and never forgotten. The cross generational divide which brings communities together works in Lexi's favour and her passion for all things vintage I am sure would make a book on its own. Of course there is a romantic element within the book and whilst of course these things don't always run smoothly sometimes the best things for people are simply staring them in the face!

A great book to escape to on a wet day or a hot day. Swallowtail Bay is a place you will want to visit again and again.

If you are looking for a heartwarming story, this has to be your next read, sweet and cozy Swallowtail Bay will welcome you with opens arms!
When Stella decided to move to Swallowtail she was looking for a fresh start, she never expected to find a welcoming village, some amazing women and maybe love was waiting for her! As you know the beginnings are never easy, but Stella will quickly connect to Lexi, a mum of two who has some money problems and she is still missing her husband; Vivian, an opera singer; Miles, the temperamental traveler; and of course Frank, the dog. All of them will add some colour to this story; because I am sure that you are aware that in a neighborhood the most eccentric and charming are the most funny and interesting!
There are a lot of characters in this story, with their problems and lives that will make the story more interesting. I was so invested in the story that I wanted to know more about the other characters a side from Stella! I hope there will be a new add to the series and the Swallowtail villagers have continued with their lives.
Spring Tides is an easy and quick read, it was so easy enter to the story and being part of the neighborhood; there are so many interesting plots in the story that it will melt you heart and make you want to move too to Swallowtail Bay!
This is a happy book, to disconnect from your life and stress for a few hours, are you ready to dig in?

Stella is putting it all on the line by giving up her old life and starting a new one. Buying a gift shop near the seaside sounds like such a magical thing to do. Images of her and Frank walking along the sandy beach, listening to the waves roll in, whilst lazy Frank sniffs everything to his hearts desire. It sounds like a wonderful place to start a new life.

She might not be expecting the chaos that comes with having holiday lets or the kind of opposition that comes from snapping up a popular property, but perhaps the friendships she makes on her new journey will be worth all the bother and stress.

The author mixes it up a little when it comes to the two men vying for the position of possible Prince Charming. Jay is a handsome heartthrob with a lack of morals, and an unusual relationship with the truth. Miles is affluent, straight-laced and a little bit on the awkward side - also on the handsome side though. Neither of them ring the bell when it comes to perfect love interest. In a way that is a better reflection of real life, even if this is fiction.

This is a cosy romance, with an emphasis on friendship, support and the small moments of kindness that keep people afloat in the most difficult of times. Ginger gives readers a read that mirrors life, whilst also giving them small moments of fantasy. It's the balance and the imperfection of the characters that absolutely make the read.

I’m a big lover of stories featuring new starts, and leaps of faith. I’ve always had dreams that I’ve never been brave enough to follow up on so I love reading about those who do even if it is fictional and you know they will succeed. The village of Swallowtail Bay seems like the ideal place for starting over and finding that happy ending.

The residents of Swallowtail Bay are an eclectic mix but all great characters in their way, with one exception but not mentioning any names. Miles is a grumpy guts, but you know he’s going to come right in the end and to be honest, it doesn’t take long before we see his true lovable self. Lexi is the best friend Stella could hope for, despite her own problems she’s always there to support Stella and help her. Vivian is a real delight, an ex opera diva, full of stories about her many beaus and marriage proposals, but like the rest of the residents, you aren’t quite sure if they are real or not until something happens to prove it one way or the other. And of course, there is Frank, Stella’s beloved King Charles spaniel. As my sister has one of these, I could picture him exactly, and I loved him.

Stella faces problem after problem but only rarely does she let things get her down, most of the time she dusts herself down and figures out a way to move on.

This was a lovely story of starting over and holding on to your dreams, even if they go a bit wibbly-wobbly at times.

This book provided some nice light relief in between reading "The Wife of Bath" I've been reading over the last few days, some feel good escapism between chapters! It begins with Stella, newly divorced, and her spaniel "Frank", (great name for a dog that, but as I own cats I'm thinking of Frank in case one of ours, who are too young to snuff it yet, shuffles off into the blue skies above, got a nice ring to it, "Frank", and you wouldn't feel half so daft as calling Fussycat the Pussycat in the garden now would you. Well unless someone new moves next door who happens to share the same name, now that could be awkward, Frank that would be not Fussycat).

Ha, now I'm digressing, so Stella and Frank the dog move to a coastal town called Swallowtail Bay and she had bought an antique shop with some of its stock and two holiday lets, she is aiming for a new start you see. It doesn't run along so much as stroll, but it does move smoothly. Stella certainly seems to attract men into her life and it does get a tad complicated but I did like the ending, had me smiling anyway. So if you are looking for a bit of light relief on a hot summers day sitting in the shade of the garden, glass of wine at hand, why not give this book a try, you will feel much better for reading it!

OMG Katie Ginger has done it again! She has such a wonderful way of drawing you into her books and writing so that the characters feel like your best friends and you feel like your along for the ride on their adventures.

In this new series you meet Stella as she embarks on a new adventure with her trusty King Charles Spaniel, Lexie who is juggling her two young children and trying to pay the bills and Miles who desperately wanted to buy the shop where Stella is licking her wounds.

This books is brimming with love and energy, it draws you in and doesn't let you go again until you reach the final page. I loved the descriptions of the beautiful vintage dresses that Lexie wears and how it is set in a lovely seaside destination. It oozes charm in Swallowtail Bay and I can't wait to go back for another visit in the next book in the series.

I can't wait to recommend this one and will be eagerly awaiting (slightly impatiently) the release of Book 2 in the Swallowtail Bay series

SYNOPSIS: Escape to the cosy seaside town of Swallowtail Bay, the perfect place for a fresh start – but is Stella’s new beginning over before it’s begun?

REVIEW: This is my first Katie Ginger book and thought it was a cute, refreshing read. It’s as much a story of starting over/friendship/personal growth as it is a romance. Although I will say the burn is SSLLLOOOWWW and I was wanting more between Stella and her man!! Overall I loved how light-hearted, cozy this book was and Katie’s descriptions and writing is just wonderful & made the story easy to imagine! I would definitely recommend for a cheerful, easy & uplifting book!

Spring Tides At Swallowtail Bay is the first book in the Swallowtail Bay series by Katie Ginger.

Stella moved to Swallowtail Bay after her divorce with hopes of starting a new chapter in her life.
It was just her and her dog Frank to start this journey.
Not knowing anyone in the village made her feel very alone and thinking maybe she made a mistake.
She bought a small shop and is set on making it a success,
She meets Lexi and a bond between them is made and Stella knows life is turning around for her with her new friend.
She has to deal with Miles a neighbor who isn't too pleased she is there becasue he wanted to buy the business Stella bought.
First impressions can sometimes be wrong.

I look forward to reading the other books in this series. This is my first book by Katie Ginger and it was a fabulous start to finding a new author.

I enjoyed this book, it was pleasant and easy to read. The romance was gentle, and didn’t really start until half way through the story. I thought the friendship between Stella and Lexi was lovely to see, and there were many interesting characters. Not to mention Frank (the dog). I’d love to read another book set in the same place, focussing on other characters. The guests that Stella had staying in the holiday lets gave me a good few chuckles.

Although a couple of phrases (too handsome to be single, and feeling guilty being every woman’s default mode) annoyed me, this book was an excellent and relaxing way to while away a few hours. I’d definitely recommend it.

I was given a free copy of this book. My opinions are my own.

I had not read any books by Katie Ginger before and I was given the opportunity to read this book from Netgalley and the Publisher.
I was attracted to this book by the gorgeous cover, and I also enjoy reading series of books. This book is the first book in a new series.
This is a quick, easygoing and enjoyable read. It follows Stella, who moves to Swallowtail Bay after her divorce. She is starting afresh, in a new area where she doesn't know anyone. She has bought a shop, holiday lets and a flat.
There is a good range of characters in this book, the main character Stella,is very likeable. It is fairly predictable but still an entertaining read.
I'm looking forward to reading part 2, and I will definitely look out for more books by this author.
