Charlee Burke is stuck on a deserted country road the day before Christmas Eve, just as a dangerous winter snowstorm begins to churn above her. The only person she knows who isn’t with family or has a sweetheart is the all-too-sexy-for-his-own-good Ace McBride—the last person on earth she wants to call.

When Charlee’s name pops up on his phone, Ace is pleased, but surprised. As much as he teases her, and as mad as she gets at him, he figures she’s got to be pretty desperate. Sure enough, she’s in need of rescuing, and he’s happy to be her white knight. He’s always had a thing for Charlee, but he knows her history. He plans to show her he’s a man who can be trusted, and she can count on him. But her heart’s been shielded a long time, and it may be too hard for her to go down that path again.

Charlee’s been afraid of relationships since a man ran a con on her to get to her inheritance. It’s been six years since he ripped apart her life, and she doesn’t believe she’ll ever be able to trust a man again.

With the storm coming in fast and hard, Charlee’s cabin is the closest shelter, but the weather report says the storm will last for several days. She’s not sure she can survive being trapped in such close quarters with Ace for that long. Alone.

Ace is determined to win her heart. Charlee is determined to never go down that path again.

There is nothing like getting a flat tire on a very lonely country road the day before Christmas Eve ... and it's snowing.

Charlee has decided not to spend Christmas with her friends and family because they all seem to have a significant other, most with children, or pregnant. The only one she can call for help is Ace McBride ... at least he isn't married or engaged.

Ace is delighted to help! With a snowstorm over their heads, he can expect to be staying at her cabin with her for at least a few days. He's had a thing for Charlee since they were kids and this is a great opportunity to let her know how he feels and show her he can be the man she needs in her life.

But Charlee has trust issues ... a relationship with a con man who tried to kill her sister to get to her inheritance 6 years ago has left her wary of all men ... even Ace who she sees as a good friend.

Charlee and Ace are great characters. I really enjoyed the playfulness of their relationship ... the snowball fights, card playing, decorating a Christmas tree. As was bound to happen ... the intimate moments sizzled with details. But not every romance is smooth sailing.....

This is an excellent addition to the McBride series. Each in the series can be read as a stand alone.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this Contemporary Romance. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Reviewed for Romancing the Readers Blog: https://romancingthereaders.blogspot....

It seems like it's been so long since I've read a book by Cheyenne McCray. I'm so glad she had a book out this year for me to read. I've always enjoyed her books, in fact, she has one of my favorite series called Magic. If you haven't yet read them you really should. So good!

Now back to Sold on You. I was in the mood for a little holiday cheer and this one fit the bill. It's less than 200 pages so you don't feel like you need to wait until after the holidays to invest in the time to read it. I love shorter stories when I'm at my busiest.

Since these two already know each other the falling in love so quickly worked for them. You don't feel like they jumped a few steps.

I really didn't blame Charlee's trust issues. She really had a terrible thing that happened to her and I can understand not wanting to get together with a guy again any time soon. But this is years later and time for her to move on.

Ace is the perfect person to help her do so. He already wants and cares about her and is willing to go the extra mile to be there for her. What more can you ask for?

I really liked Ace he is so sweet and thoughtful. Just the type of guy you'd want in your life.

These two are so cute together. The sweet way they flirt with each other makes you see what could and will be. It might take some convincing but Ace is up to it. I really liked this story. It ends her series and does so perfectly. I'm so glad I read it.

Not for me

I did finish this book, so really it should be 2.5 stars.

This book was ok, but it dragged. The characters just felt two dimensional. The only connection they seemed to have was that they really found each other sexy. The author tried to inject some friendship and trust between them, but but this side of their relationship wasn't given space to breathe, every activity seemed to end with one of them imagining the other naked. Not very much happens in the story and character growth was abrupt not gradual.

I'm glad so many people live this book, the author is obviously doing something right, it's just not my cup of tea.

Lovely story with Charlee and Ace. I really got into this brilliant read. Everything seems to be going as planned between the lovers, but Ace didn't want children, whereas Charlee did. A lovely HEA. An enjoyable story. 5☆

Charlee Burke popped the boot to search for the spare tyre. She’d seen it done on telly, and when a friend had a flat back in high school (it couldn’t be that difficult. Right?). She was pretty sure that under all that stuff was a tyre and a jack.

A heartwarming story of relinquishing the past and moving forward. Charlee has been an onlooker to her sister and her friends finding love and happiness, making their dreams come true. As much as she adores her sister and her best friends, she can’t help feeling envious wishing that she, too, could find a family of her own. Unhappy playing the ‘spare’ at all the happy families in her life, she retreats to her cabin for some alone time. . .at Christmas.

If her sister, Jo, had known Charlee planned to spend Christmas alone, she would have kicked her butt. Her best friends, Bailey and Dara, would equally be outraged. She’d told Jo she’d be with the McBride families and told the McBrides she’d be with Jo and Tate, and their twins. She just couldn’t take one more Christmas of feeling as a third wheel. Everyone close to her had a significant other and most had kids or kids on the way. She was tired of being alone.

Stranded on a lonely backroad not frequented by many, the impending bad weather forces her to contact her best friend’s brother, Ace McBride. Ace has been smitten with Charlee since childhood, but due to missed opportunities, he missed his chance to ask her out in high school.

Charlee had been twenty-four, and Jo, her older sister, started seeing Tate McBride, one of Ace’s cousins, they now have twin girls.
“I have to admit I was jealous of Jo. She’s gorgeous and was a model in New York City for a time. She worked hard though and saved enough money to start her own night club, Jo-Jo’s. I was so envious of her gorgeous red hair and how tall and elegant she is.”
“You have no reason to be jealous.” Ace stroked her hair. “You are equally beautiful, if not more so.”
“Thank you. Of course, all the men wanted Jo. So, when this good-looking older man started paying attention to me instead of her, it went straight to my head. It was like, ‘Wow, someone wants me over Jo. So, David Smith had me. The things he’d say, the things he did—he totally manipulated me. It turned out he had overheard I’d be coming into my inheritance at twenty-five, and it was substantial. He worked me, the long con, I guess you’d call it. But Jo was on to him and he knew it. So, he tried to have her killed, and when that failed, he tried again. He wanted to keep her from changing my mind about him. I could have lost her, Ace. All because I fell for a con artist who knew how to handle me so skillfully. Turns out he was a married, his family in the Phoenix area had no idea he was a psychopathic con man. I haven’t been able to forgive myself for almost getting Jo killed.”

Emboldened by her history, David Smith or Hearn, had shattered her trust in men, fraught with guilt, she has never forgiven herself for being involved with him, especially for the harm he’d inflicted on her sister. He’d conned her, going after her for her inheritance. Not only had he hurt her emotionally, but he’d done far, far worse to her sister, Jo. He’d tried to kill Jo to get to Charlee. Not once, but twice. The guilt of her sister almost being killed had been the hardest thing to bear.

If she didn’t get over her hang-ups with men, she’d never get married and have children of her own, something she craved. She loved kids. She would need to get beyond her fear of men and relationships. There were good men out there.

Ace had known Charlee wanted kids since the first time she mentioned it, but he’d still pursued her, this is revealed at the end. He’s been steadfast in his decision of never having children. It’s always been a deal breaker for him. He’s been overshadowed by the McBrides all his life. One more thing to be compared to. He’d grown up with brothers he’d always looked up to but never felt as though he measured up. They were all good husbands and good dads. He just didn’t think he was dad material. Apparently not good husband material in Charlee’s case.

Charlee and Ace’s story was inspiring, their easy bantering, long-established friendship, the easy conversations, flirting, smouldering glances, card games, dating bets, snowball fights, easy companionship. Ace wants to prove that they’re destined to be.

She’s been badly hurt, the kind of you really never got past, you moved on in an effort to reclaim your life.

Sold on You is a wonderful, quick read perfect for the holiday. It is a heartwarming story including a sweet friends to lovers romance, catching up with family and strengthening bonds, letting go of the past and moving forward, forgiving yourself and acceptance and lots of love. I absolutely adore the characters Cheyenne has created in this series and enjoy catching up with them in each of their stories. And I must say, though I have enjoyed each book in the series, I think this one with Ace and Charlee is my favorite.

Charlee just wants to get away and have a little time to herself. She loves seeing her friends and family happy but is tired of being the ‘fifth wheel’ at get-togethers, especially the holiday. This year she just wants to retreat to her cabin and enjoy a quiet Christmas. Unfortunately, fate, her procrastination, and the coming storm cause her to have other plans and she is forced to reach out to the only other person she knows who is not attached for help, Ace McBride, the last person on earth she wants to call. She is still reeling from a relationship nightmare and full of regret, guilt, and self-loathing and her faith and trust in men has been shattered. She has hardened her heart and does not think she will ever be able to trust a man again. Then there is Ace McBride, the one person that given the chance can change it all.

Ace has had a thing for Charlee since childhood and when her name pops up on his caller id, he jumps at the chance to help her out of a jam. He knows this will be the perfect set up to spend some quality time alone with her and hopefully let her know how he feels. He knows her history and that she is having a rough time but he is determined to show her that she can trust and depend on him. He can be everything she needs if only he can get past her guarded heart. Time will tell, but he is definitely not going to give up without a fight. It has always been Charlee for him; she is everything he has ever wanted and he is going to use the situation and the storm to his advantage and help her see how wonderful it could be.

Charlee and Ace’s story was absolutely delightful and I really enjoyed the development of their relationship. The witty, fun banter, easy conversations and flirting, card games, silly bets, snowball fights, cozy fires and confessions shared, and decorating for Christmas along with their romance. It all blended well into a smooth, comfortable storyline with characters and conversations that felt natural and believable. The conflict they had to navigate added the perfect amount of drama and the ending was sweet…a wonderful HEA. This book was a great addition to the McBride series.

A big thank you to the author for sending me a copy of this book. I have read and reviewed it voluntarily and all opinions expressed are my own. I have also purchased a copy of this book for my personal collection.

Sold on You is the fifth and final book in Cheyenne McCray’s Riding Tall 2 series and while the end of this series is a little bittersweet, the setting, characters and story plot are utterly engrossing and provide the reader with laughter, tears and a wealth of anticipation.

Charlee and Ace have been mentioned often in previous books due to their individual relationships to the McBrides; Charlee has been best friends with Dara and Bailey for many years and grown up around the McBride family, and Ace of course is the last unmarried member of the McBride clan.

Everything about this book is heartening and engaging; from Ace’s sweet, charming and devoted presence, to Charlee’s reserved insecurities one minute to her total exuberance the next. There’s a wonderful vibe and loads of fun, and a picturesque winter wonderland at Christmas; but there’s also an underlying fear of how to navigate the future, when the realisation hits that they each are looking for something different.

As with all the earlier books the McBrides all play their part and interfere when they think it’s necessary, but the arrival of a new bundle of joy results in wonder, devastation, heartbreak and self-reflection. This is definitely a story to be read from start to finish in one sitting, as I couldn’t drag myself away until I knew that common-sense would prevail and a HEA was in Ace and Charlee’s future. Thank you, Ms McCray, for bringing these captivating characters to life and providing many hours of drama, excitement and romance.

This is the fifth and final book in the Riding Tall 2 series. Ace, the last McBride brother not coupled up and Charlee who we learned from a previous book was totally taken in by a scummy con artist. She has plenty of internal scars.

Charlee is single and doesn’t want to spent Christmas as a fifth wheel so she lies and tells her family and friends she will be with the other. On her way to her cabin she gets a flat tire just as it starts to snow. Without dragging someone away from their family and finding out her lie she calls Ace, the last single McBride and her best friends brother.

The snow is really falling so Ace picks up Charlee and they go to her cabin. The two end up spending a couple of days snowed in together with plenty of food, games and DVDs. We learn that Ace has always had a thing for Charlee. We understand Charlee is still very gun shy. David did a real number on her. Ace we learn doesn’t want children. Convinced he is the least productive of his four perfect brothers and one sister. Charlee would like the whole package of a family.

I admit I had to reread the last couple of chapter because the book made me mad. Basically Ace is a boneheaded. I just wanted Ace to talk to some members of his family. I will let you decide how you think the end of the story went.

Charlee Burke is trying to escape all of her well meaning attached friends and family for the Christmas holiday by escaping to her cabin in the Bradshaw Mountains near Prescott, AZ, when she gets a flat tire. The only person she can think of to help that doesn't have their own family is Ace McBride and she reluctantly calls him as a storm rolls in. Ace and Charlee make it to her cabin, but are snowbound there, something Ace is happy about. He's had a thing for Charlee for years, but after being badly burned by a man who tried to kill her sister to get to Charlee's inheritance, she hasn't much time for men. The two have a great time together, and things are looking up until Charlee overhears Ace saying he doesn't want children - a deal breaker for her. It takes a while for Ace to 'fess up to his fear of being as good of a father as his siblings and father, but finally he realizes it's not really a problem and the two get back together.

Sold on you is the last book in this series and is a great book. It can be a stand-alone book but I would not suggest it. If you don’t want to read the full series I would suggest at least reading Tying You Down to get a history on Charlee.
This is a great story that shows the struggles that some people have with letting others into their lives. Charlee has been in so many of the books it was about time she get her HEA. Imagine, all it took was a snowstorm and her trying to hide from everyone over Christmas. This book is just in time for Christmas and helped get the Christmas season off to a great start.
I would highly recommend this book, especially if you have read the other Riding Tall books.

Sold On You is a fantastic contemporary romance by Cheyenne McCray. Ms. McCray has given readers a well-written story filled with a spectacular cast of characters. Charlee is heading to her cabin when she gets a flat, that she has no idea how to fix. Ace goes to help Charlee with her flat and they end up at her cabin when the storm worsens. Charlee and Ace's story is loaded with drama, humor and sizzle. I loved reading Sold On You and look forward to my next Cheyenne McCray book. Sold On You is book 5 of the Riding Tall 2 Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.

If you love Cowboys and the women who fall for them then you will enjoy this book. The Author has created a story line that gives you all of the imaginary of the area and a love story to draw attention to the characters involved! This is another book from this Author and her western series that I love and I think you will to! Looking forward to reading more from this Author!

Mostly enjoyable

Another HEA romance for a McBride. Ace and Charlee finally acknowledge their feelings along with few bumps to the HEA. Every now and then parts of the story just working up and had the experience. He says he isn't much into cooking, but makes pasta sauce from scratch and can make buttermilk for bread. Snowbound with no cell service or Wi-Fi and get the phone app can bring up music.

A sweet friends to lovers, small town romance. Charlee has known Ace McBride for most of her life and never thought they would be any more than friends, and while Ace has always found Charlee attractive he didn't think she would be more than his little sister's best friend. When these two are stranded together in Charlee's cottage for Christmas their connection heats up and they find who they are meant to be.

This was a sweet holiday read. I have enjoyed this series very much and I'm very sad to see it reach its conclusion. Charlee and Ace were such fun characters. I always love a friends to lovers storyline. The conflict of the story was just right for these two people. Everyone deserves their own HEA.

Ace and Charlee..

I have enjoyed reading many of Cheyenne McCray's books. Wow, stubborn Ace, made up his own mind which of course got him into trouble. Charlee, who was hurt very badly by a married syncopath mad man, who only wanted her money. The trials that they both had to go through, to come to a beautiful ending.

To be dad or not to be

This book is one of many that keeps me turning page after page. It was a true love story and down to earth. No elaborate sexual content like some I have read. I would recommend to readers who likes mild sexual content but happy endings too

Heartwarming...a little far-fetched, but good

Well written Christmas tale with about all the ingredients in the right amounts. Just a little heavy on Ace’s angst, however not extremely so, worth the read. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Snowed In

Charles felt left out with all of her family and friends in couples and having kids. So she decided to spend Christmas alone at her retreat cabin. After she had flat tire on the way, Ace was the only choice to call for help. Things just went on from there.

I was enjoying this right up until Ace emphatically states he does not want to have children, and then suddenly a couple of chapters later he holds a baby once for 30 seconds and next thing he’s rushing off to Charlee to tell her he’s changed his mind! What rubbish.

Beautiful setting for a romance. I really enjoyed the visuals on the scenery - felt like I was actually there. The story was fun and charming and had me wrapped up in the bubble of their time in the cabin - even felt their disappointment when they had the surprise.

Great series.

I’ve really enjoyed each book in this series. Loved that Ace always had a bit of a crush on Charlee. Didn’t expect the heartbreak, and I did cry for them. Thankfully they get a happy ever after. I recommend each book in this series.
