DeAndre Valentine is just as smooth as his brother’s but turned off from love after being left at the alter. From that moment forward he vows to keep things light with the women he chooses to keep company with. All that changes when he sets his sights on Avery.

These two play a game of cat and mouse like nothing I’ve ever seen before. They both have reservations when it comes to exploring a new relationship but they can’t deny the fact that they’re drawn to each other.

In the end I did like DeAndre and Avery but it took me a while to warm up to them. Their connection and chemistry wasn’t as convincing until the end of the book and I feel like that had a lot to do with the narrator. Had I read the story my rating may have been lower…. This one just didn’t quite hit all marks like the other brothers and their stories!

While I enjoyed the other Valentine brothers series, this story really didn’t hit the mark. For me, this wasn’t one of her usually amazing novels. It moved too quickly .The story ended and I still didn’t feel a connection between the main characters. The main female character wasn’t likable and she irritated me to the fullest extent. Her inability to communicate and blatant selfishness was a definite no for me.DeAndre spent half of the book, trying to reconnect with her when she clearly wasn’t deserving of his time and efforts.I was so upset reading her antics(Rant Over). I wanted the author to dig deeper into the personality of DeAndre. He had another side that I would have loved to learn more about. The writing was good(and nasty 🤪) as usual. The plot, meh( I don’t like Avery). I’m still a huge fan of Stephanie and will continue to read whatever she writes. I hope he next novel will knock everything over!!!me. Although Avery worked up my vextation, I still recommend this book. I mean, who doesn’t love a Valentine man😍(Hunter is taken though).

I’m more or less caught up with the Valentine brothers now- there’s only one more brother and his book isn’t out yet and so I think I’ve got a good grasp on the books. What I will say is that the books ARE very similar. The heroines are nearly carbon copies of each other in description and personality, the heroes are also almost identical in every way. The themes are however, what separate this book and I’ve more or less loved all the themes the author has put forward. I love the men who can be vulnerable and emotional and who love and respect really hard. So yes the books are very similar and with similar flaws. But they’re also delightful to read.

This book, I must admit, is not my favourite in the series. It features DeAndre, an aerospace engineer, and Avery, the owner of a local tv station. They met either months ago at a Valentine wedding (or event) and there was an instant attraction even though they kept it friendly. Everytime things seem to be moving forward in their relationship, Avery ghosts DeAndre and he wonders why. Because the thing is that he’s falling in love with Avery and wants more than friendship whilst Avery claims to only want his body. Deep down, Avery is keeping a secret she thinks will destroy any hope of them having a future together. But DeAndre’s body comes with his heart which he offers her on a platter. But does she actually want it?

I tried really hard to sympathize with Avery because she was a really bad friend (not to talk of girlfriend) in this. I know she was going through things herself but she could have broken up with DeAndre or cut him off instead of just ghosting especially knowing it was something triggering for him. Her secret to me didn’t present enough of an excuse- there needed to be more to the story to justify her behaviour. Like with other books in this series, I was never in doubt the hero was in love. There were a few minor continuity issues but all in all, I liked it.

I love Stephanie Nicole Norris! Her stories are so sexy and romantic, and there's just something about those Valentine and Rose men! That DeAndre Valentine had this book smokin' hot with his sexy self! Whew, child!🤤🔥🔥

While I loved DeAndre, I wanted a deeper exploration of his relationship with Avery. I know that Avery and DeAndre had spent months exchanging phone calls and text messages, spent time out together, but I felt as a reader we sort of missed out on all that because it happened off-screen--so to speak. However, the trip to St. Lucia was amazing, beautiful, and they explored some things sexually that were off-the-charts steamy! Ms. Norris's amazing and vivid descriptions of the beautiful and exotic locations, the delicious cuisine, and extravagant indulgences truly gives readers a front row seat to all that sexiness.

But while DeAndre opened up to her and revealed his painful past, Avery still held back. And Avery only confessed the truth because she was really left with no choice. I understood her hesitancy, because what she was dealing with and what she went through was like a double doozy. She didn't have to keep runnin' out on him like that though--being all radio silent. And it just didn't seem fair that she kept a part of herself locked away like that even after she knew DeAndre was serious about being with her. I mean, "she done met the man's mama and everything!"😂😂

I know I've said it before, but I don't mind saying it again: I can definitely see where these young men get their charm, sexiness, and charisma from with the way Daddy Valentine was still romancing and loving all on Mommy Valentine! Have mercy!🥰🔥🔥

Excellent!!!!!!

DeAndre Valentine is the next brother up for love and he has his eyes set on Avery Michelle the owner of WTZB Broadcast Station. Their attraction to each other is undeniable but whereas one of them wants to play for keeps the other wants to run to the hills.

DeAndre Valentine is no stranger to love, he was going to marry once before but found himself jilted at the altar, after searching high and low for his fiance, she sends him a letter asking for him to stop looking for her, she has found love with another. After that DeAndre wasn't interested in love again, his time with women was enough for him and that was it. Avery Michelle had a fiance at one time too, but being jilted taught her to not ever do that again, having sex is one thing, commitment is a whole other dynamic that she isn't interested in.

DeAndre and Avery are attracted to each other but can these two find their way to each other and get on the same page? Or will a secret cause one of them to run to the hills to hide forever? You will find out once you read this incredible story.

Author Stephanie Nicole Norris has done it again with her Valentine series. Side note I finished this book a long time ago but am just now getting to writing my review LOL!!

Well Until My Next Review...Ciao!

I can’t begin to explain how pleasantly surprised I was that I loved this story so much. I was rooting so hard for Deandre and Avery. Both guarded for their own personal reasons, I don’t think I’ve experienced a developing love like theirs and the sex..lord have mercy - Stephanie Nicole Norris tore this one up. She gave us just enough to become invested in them both. I didn’t feel like the backstory was lacking at all and all I have to say is, DeAndre & St. Lucia, ain’t no body messing with him!

DNF. Not sure if I’m just done with the series or what; but this just didn’t capture my attention. I came back multiple times and couldn’t connect. Think I need to give the brothers a break.

A solid 3.5 stars. The chemistry (romantic and sexual) was THERE between Avery and DeAndre. What killed me was the disappearing acts Avery made, and KEPT making even though she knew that was a point of contention between she and DeAndre because of the thoughtlessness behind it in concerns towards his feelings as well as because of how his ex fiancé did him. That took this from a 4.5 to 5 star read down to a 3.5 just because how much her disappearing acts played throughout the story.

The Pursuit was Real

The Valentine men certainly have a lot to offer; good looks, lots of money, and a raw sex appeal. I'm just glad I got the chance to meet this couple.

I’m left not really sure what to rate this one or what to say in this review, but I’ll give it a shot and reserve the right to edit once I absorb everything lol!

First off, the last installation was so good I couldn’t wait to read this one. I can say that it didn’t live up to my expectations however there were some really good aspects of this story.
I am a character reader. If you have fascinating characters and a not so good story I can hang in there. I also like when authors build a world- not everyone is skillful at it. I think SNN was doing a great job at it and then fell short here. For some reason I feel as if I just didn’t get enough of the story.

The eight months that DeAndre and Aivery were getting acquainted wasn’t included in this story and so we come into their story after the initial sparks and where one would normally find the chemistry in a love story. I can’t say I even remember a flashback that the author included to sort of give us a glimpse of their early connection. Their time away together which is where SNN usually shines was meh...

Their first intimate moment for me, was kind of lack luster because it just seemed forced maybe? And still I’m not sure that’s the correct way to describe it. Also all the explanation that DeAndre gave in the middle of it was enough to douse the heat, but later on their moments were a lot more intense and so those later moments helped with the lack of connection that I felt.

Since I love characters, I can say that I really liked DeAndre. I thought he was tender and intelligent. He wasn’t the alpha that I swoon over, but he was very compassionate and that was endearing.
Aivery had every right to have those drawback feelings because of what she was personally enduring, but she seemed to me to be sort of out of touch with her true feelings- making this even more difficult for me to accept as a true love affair.

The end was super strange with Leslie and his wife. That’s all I’m going to say. I’m not sure where the author was going with that and why it was included in the end and why not give us another moment with the hero and heroine ?

In all, I felt as if this was an abrupt and incomplete story. I’m not even sure she gave me enough to even be excited about Kyle’s story. So far Raphael is my favorite Valentine.

Talented author, Stephanie Nicole Norris welcomes us back to Chicago, Illinois with another engaging story involving a Valentine brother. Aerospace Engineer DeAndre Valentine, the H.I.C. (Hero-in-Charge) is in pursuit of Avery Michele, the owner of WTZB, a local Chicago television station. If you are familiar with the Valentine brothers of Chicago, then you know that they are like the Royal Canadian Mounted Police…..they always get their (in this case) woman.

I loved catching up with the Valentine family who serve as worthy side characters helping to move the storyline along. We also get a glimpse of the last Valentine sibling, Kyle, and I look forward to reading his story. The HEA is wonderful! IN PURSUIT OF YOU is a great read, and I recommend it. I also recommend the other Valentine brothers’ (Hunter, Xavier, Lance, and Raphael) stories. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. You can thank me later.

I enjoyed DeAndre and Avery but something felt missing as compared to the others I have read. Totally understand the hesitancy from DeAndre having been jilted at the alter leaving his heart torn and Avery wanting to keep her grandfather's radio legacy and medical condition. A nice story but a bit slow burn for me. Although a good story, the narrated voices are becoming repetitive to the characters in other books.

I still love the Valentine's

I always enjoy reading about the Valentine Brothers and this was no different. I'm happy that DeAndre and Avery got together wasn't as explosive as I thought it would be. I wish they would have delved more into Avery's diagnosis of lupus. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Definitely love those Valentine men!

You are never disappointed when reading about any of the Valentine men. Avery was getting on my nerves with her disappearing acts, but I somewhat understood it when her diagnosis was revealed. I loved the way that Stephanie brought Avery and Deandre together after they both experienced similar heartbreak. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Deandre was playing for keeps and Avery just was sure where the relationship was going. Deandre oozed power, sexuality...my kind of man. Those Valentine men are too hot to handle. Looking forward to the next book.

Oooweee DeAndrea Valentine🥰

What can I say but hold on to seat because this is a ride you will never forget. Ms. Stephanie has done it again and I just thought she couldn’t bring the fire again but hot damn a whole room. No spoilers but she went in and any reader will love her for it. DeAndrea and Avery’s love was a slow burn that exploded into fire neither of them were ready for but in true Valentine form once you find that love heaven and earth will be moved to make her your forever. It was beautiful and unexpected on many levels.

"In Pursuit of You" by Stephanie Nicole Norris

My Rationalization:

I enjoyed the story 'In Pursuit of You' featuring DeAndre Valentine and Avery Michele. We find DeAndre was not only a big man but one sweet one with a beautiful heart, and above all, he loved Avery. However, Avery had secrets that she felt she shouldn't share with anyone. It was quite interesting how this author was able to touch on that illness. What will happen when this situation comes to light? Will DeAndre will be there for her as they embrace their love? All that is left to say is wow...what about that 'Red Room?' I will say this is one of those stories that will pull at your heart. If you are looking for a series with not only a hot streamy romance and a little bit of sadness, you have come to the right place to get all of the above questions answered and so much more, and maybe at the end, a HEA. You will have to pick this good read to see how it will all come out for these two.

Threw me for a curveball

It took me a minute to get into this story because I felt like you had just dropped me in the middle of a story and I had too many unanswered questions, but I eventually caught up and then bam, you threw in Avery's medical condition. I had to put down the book for a minute to regroup!! Having being diagnosed with the same condition a year ago and a similar situation happened with a long time love, I could feel her pain because it was my pain. Thank you for giving me hope that there is a man out there who will not just see my diagnosis but will see me as well.

I really hope to see more from all of them. I know that I will be reading the books about these brothers.

I love Avery's personality and character she is an awesome character and I really enjoyed reading this book which had me finishing the book in a few hours, because it was that good.

My question is will there be a series about the Clark brothers mentioned in this book and also more books on the Valentine Brothers as well?

Never Disappoints

I rated the book fair #3 because I found the red room was like a black version of 50 shades of grey. Apart from that it was a good read. Steamy, passionate and always a twist from the regular romance novels. Looking forward to Kyle's story in 2020. I a!so believe we'll be hearing a lot from the Clark brothers.

Winter Love

Such a beautiful winter tale, Avery and DeAndre love was felt throughout their story. It was understandable that Avery didn’t want to burden anyone with her illness but she couldn’t withstand a Valentine love. DeAndre was a beast those love scenes oh lord the kink is real ha! Stephanie got another hit on her hands, now I’m ready for the baby boy story. What you going to do with Kyle. But I see they get it from their daddy. Great job Stephanie
