Dr. Anne Ross was a Celtic scholar and folklorist. She spoke Gaelic and Welsh as well as being a scholar of Anglo Saxon, Old norse and Medieval English. After studying for her Phd. in Edinburgh she became a research fellow to Southampton University and a writer for the British Museum. She lived with her husband Richard and their children Richard and Berenice in Wales.
A Celtic archaeologist at the top her game writes for the layman a book on the everyday life of the pagan Celts. The orderly presentation and numerous illustrations are undergirded by her enthusiasm and excitement for a field in which she had already worked for decades.
Another interesting read. I had to be careful with this book, as the pages are falling out. Unlike other books on Celts, this one went into more depth on warfare and hunting, but maybe that's why it's called "the everyday life".
