Good Girls #3

Where Bad Boys are Ruined

Rate this book
I ate leftover cupcakes and cracked macarons for breakfast.

I was ninety percent sure he simply ate up girls like me.

I was covered in paint splatters, cake batter, and sweat the first time I met him.

He was covered in badass tattoos and a smile that seemed to hold a secret I would never figure out.

Rule number 1 was never, under any circumstances, fall for the man who I wrote my lease check to.

So, I tucked him away in the “Fantasize Only” compartment of my brain and called it a day.

But he didn’t make it easy.

He was arrogant, funny, and the biggest flirt I had ever met.

Most of the time, I didn’t know if I was just a game to him.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say he was on a mission to ruin my life.

And maybe my heart, too.

4 Cupcakes and Tramp Stamp Stars ⭐

~Second read of a series that is light and romantic featuring gorgeous tattooed friends. Just the right amount of drama to make this swoony and sexy!~

Sweet Baked Goods and Tattoos? With that story combination, I was already halfway sold.

"That man looked like dirty sex.
Not that I actually had any idea what dirty sex actually was. Every guy I had ever been with before had been sweet. Tame even. Boring."

Charlie has dreamed of opening her own bakery and doing so has been long time coming. She hadn't anticipated that the perfect location would be next door to a tattoo shop. One with a tattooist who would become her landlord as well as the man to consume all her thoughts and sanity.

"Brandon was dangerous. He was the kind of guy who ruined girls like me. I had to keep my wits about me when I was near him. One little slip-up and I wouldn’t recover."

Brandon isn't a womanizer per se, however he isn't short of female attention. Yet dating isn't something he's keen on until her; the beautiful redhead with freckles and stubbornness to admire.

Where Bad Boys are Ruined wasn't an overly complicated story. It was an entertaining friend to lovers romance between two people who were clueless when it came to relationships. Whilst Charlie was insecure and intimidated by Brandon's confidence, he on the other hand was just waiting on a girl that mattered.

As you would anticipate this scenario would create a little petty drama and miscommunication along the way. Fortunately, with a kickass mama, and an awesome crew of friends it steered them in the right direction. 🧁💙

***3 STARS***

Charlie is finally realizing her dream by opening her own bakery. She happens to find the best location beside a tattoo parlor. The owner of the tattoo parlor and the strip mall containing her business is Brandon and he is instantly smitten by the "sweet" and adorable Charlie.

This was not what I was expecting. Brandon was the tattooed bad boy with the soft side but I didn't connect with him or Charlie in this book. It was really sweet and I liked how Brandon interacted with Charlie in helping her set up her shop but I expected a little more badassness from him. Plus it was a slow burn which was disappointing. It had the makings of being a sizzling hot romance.

It can be read as a standalone. I would read the other books in the series but this one just didn't strike the match in me.

⭐️ 5 "Cherry On Top" Stars ⭐️
Holly Renee strikes again with Where Bad Boys Are Ruined! The Good Good Series is one I’ve enjoyed since the beginning and this most recent addition is another hit! I was curious about the girl who would finally capture Brandon’s heart and no heroine could have been better than Charlie for him.

"Brandon was dangerous. He was the kind of guys who ruined girls like me."

This woman is quirky and a little awkward, but also sweet and funny. Her first interactions with the bad boy tattoo artist, where she blushes and trips on her words are so entertaining. Brandon is his cocky and funny self always ready to help his business neighbor setting her new bakery.

The story is fast paced and full of exciting scenes going from sweet, to hilarious, to intensely hot. The slow burn of the romance is at the perfect pace, creating an anticipation that had me dying for this couple to finally happen. When they succumb to the temptation, they’re just so perfect with truly hot moments blended with pure tenderness.

"I was clinging to her like some lovesick fool, and I didn't see myself letting go anytime soon."

Where Bad Boys Are Ruined gave me such a great entertainment. This group of friends is so pleasing to see interact and the main couple is totally adorable and swoon-worthy. It’s an opposites attract romance at its best with cocky tattooed bad boy Brandon and sweet shy baker Charlie steaming up the pages with their intense sparks.

Some of you might hate me for my review but that’s okay, I’m willing to live with it. I loveee Brandon but god Charlie was the most boring heroine for him!!!!
I just kept getting the sense that she was soooo insecure. If you’re going to date a bad boy you cannot be insecure, you’re going to end up being a jealous driven woman and it won’t work out well. Same for men!
She kept accepting dates from David and then her thoughts is on Brandon. BORING. Figure your shit out. Lord.
THEN Brandon kisses her during laser tag and it turns into this thing where she’s hurt he left after she was there on a date. Thank god for staci who said basically what I was thinking. Wanted to like her. I did. So I skimmed from chapter 21 all the way to epilogue.
It was okay.

Definitely a 2018 favorite! My goodness this book was everything I didn't know I wanted! Brandon and Charlie are so perfect for each other! I love Charlie's awkwardness, her quirks, and her adorable self way too much. And Brandon... *fans face* hot damn. What I loved so much about Brandon was how he treats Charlie from the beginning. I started falling for him immediately. Right from the start, he was treating her with so much care and love, even if he didn't realize it at the time. I haven't had a favorite ship in a long while but I have finally found one and all arrows point to Brandon and Charlie.

Usually, a third book in series isn't my favorite but this is the exception because I fell head-over-heels in love with this story! Easily in my top 3 reads of 2018. And I can't wait to re-read this bad boy over and over for the rest of my life!

I received an eARC from the publicist in exchange for my honest review. This doesn't affect my thoughts on this book at all.

this was so good!
she's a good girl and he's not a bad guy but, he has a bad boy aesthetic.

When your heroine spends 2/3 of the book dating another man, how are you supposed to feel? That's what I kept asking myself. I wasn't happy that Charlie had another man in her life, even if she didn't sleep with him. Charlie's character is very prejudiced early in the book, which leads her to avoid Brandon in every way that she could. It was a little annoying after 1/3 of the book had passed because there was a lot of going back and forth action because of her mixed feelings. And that was also a shame because I really liked the rest of the book and the secondary characters, which are the couples from the two previous books, mostly. It was fun and light and an almost 5-star book. Brandon is making his feelings clear from early on and I couldn't help, but root for him. He did deserve a better treatment from Charlie. I didn't like the heroine, but I liked the rest of the people and almost all the plotlines in the story. Charlie's parents were very funny people. If you are ok with the heroine dating another man and then almost kissing and then kissing the hero, you will enjoy the book.

I love this series... really truly LOVE it. Ever since I read the first one I've been hooked.
Everything about this couple was easy to fall in love with. I loved Charlie's internal dialogues. She was quirky, funny and perfect for bad boy Brandon.

I liked Brandon's personality. He was funny and sweet when it was needed. I was really enjoying myself while reading how much he struggled with new to him feelings (like jealousy) he had since meeting Charlie. And it was fun to see the past characters trying to help out their friends.
Another great book by Holly Renee.

In my opinion this is the best book in this series. Period.
Quality of writing, difference of characters, no repetitions.
There is also a bit of sweetness in the whole story, in heroine, which is very awkward and cute, that makes all the reading experience adorable, quick and enjoyable.
Maybe you will not like cute and sweet story but taking into account some serious subjects two previous books had and only skimmed it, I don't mind lightness in this book.
Only thing I was able to detect while reading is that at some moments they- side characters tried to pin some characteristics on hero which we never see he has in two previous books- do you know him people and why you lie?! Ha!?

Other then that is all I can say Holly Renee you are getting better and I see you... I would gladly read more books by you...
Again fab cover art and names of the series....

All books can be read as standalone.

Holly Renee is BACK and she does it again!!!

Homahgawd THESE CHARACTERS and THIS BOOK! Sooooo refreshing to step back into the avid reading world to characters like these two!

It’s classic HR when the connection is there, the lust slaps you in the face when you least expect it, and the conflict and resolve are as sweet as ever. This one really just makes me want to sit down with twelve cupcakes while someone tattoos one on my left shoulder blade if I’m being honest.

SOOOOOO incredibly good! And everyone needs to jump in completely blind because that’s the best way to enjoy a book that sweeps you off your feet so effortlessly as this one!

4.5 "Freckles" Stars

Where Bad Boys are Ruined was everything I wanted. I've been not so patiently waiting for Brandon's book. And let me tell you, I was every bit satisfied. I needed his story as soon as he was introduced amongst this group of friends. And I was definitely not disappointed.

Brandon is a bad boy tattoo artist. And one thing that everyone knows about him is that he does not do relationships. He likes being single and wouldn't change a thing. But when a bakery is set to open next to his tattoo shop, there's immediate attraction between him and the owner. Question is, will she change his "I don't do relationships" way?

Charlie is as sweet as they come. She's always wanted to own her own bakery, and her dream is finally coming to fruition. But the one thing Charlie didn't see coming was Brandon. As soon as she lays eyes on him she's smitten. Though she knows nothing will happen between them, because she feels way out of his league. But you know what they say, opposites attract.

Brandon and Charlie were so freaking cute together. Their attraction is undeniable and brought the sparks. Her sweetness and his roughness paired so perfectly. I loved these two so damn much. I couldn't get enough and just wanted and needed more.

I didn't know what to expect with Brandon's story, but Where Bad Boys are Ruined was exactly what I wanted. Loved him and Charlie and I absolutely loved catching up with the rest of this group of friends. I missed them so much. I don't know if there'll be more books in this series, but I hope there is because I don't want to say goodbye to these characters. Here's hoping there's more books. *fingers crossed*

Awww a sweet one, but not my favourite in the series.

I really felt like Brandon didn’t get the story he deserved, I wanted a bit more depth to his story like we got with Parker and Mason.
He was the one that must intrigued me.

As for Charlie she was annoying. She had no spine I’m surprised she didn’t blob around instead of stay upright.

The story was cute. But there was little to know chemistry for me, I really wanted someone who challenged Brandon, but someone that was a whimpering mess.

Also the other books in the series are filled with sexual tension, and some good sexy scenes. This one fell short of the mark.

I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary honest review. I just love this series more and more. This guys are something else, they are special in there own way. I don't see Brandon the way others might see him, yes he's sexy, handsome, but he's also straight laced. I don't see him as playboy like a lot of others do. He's just honest. And that is sexy quality. Charlie is sweetheart, she may be innocent but with Brandon she's not afraid to be herself. That shows what type of connection they have. It's sexy. And makes them look like the couple to be.

I loved this book. It is one of those books where the hero is sweet and caring yet at the same time he is a total bad boy(my weakness). The book was fast paced and both character had great chemistry, I loved it.

Charlie was a sweet heroine and she was an open book. She was fighting hard for her dreams and to keep Brandon away... spoiler alert she couldn't .

Brandon was a total sweetheart, he was sweet and caring and a little protective but he loved Charlie to no end.

Not only were the main characters amazing but the side characters were incredible. Honestly one of my favorite reads of 2020.

" All those little times you said that I'm your girl
You make me feel like your whole world."

Pretty When You Cry - Lana Del Rey

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Baker businesswoman Charlie Grace plans to open up shop. She doesn’t believe that she can, but she draws a tattooing neighbor’s attention.

This was my third Holly Renee read. STUNNING COVER! I enjoyed this read from the get go, just like the previous stories. Each girl had something different to her and I really admired that. The setting of a bakery was cute and refreshing. I especially admired that Charlie got to make her dreams come true. She seemed like a lovely girl. I didn’t like the love triangle that ATTEMPTED to make itself important at some point in the novel – ONLY because I wanted her to hurry up and get her bad boy. Brandon isn’t a bad boy per se (DON’T EXPECT A HARDIN OR STH LIKE THAT); he might look like one, tats and a reputation of intimate relations with lots of ladies. He also had quite a decent jealous bad boy moment, but I still view him as a decent dude. In contrast to the previous books, here we have lots of flirting and relationship angst instead of actual steam. I appreciated that because that was what a character like Charlie needed (even though the evil witch and I would’ve liked to read more of Brandon’s horizontal adventures). CUPCAKES FOR THE WIN. After this book, I need to go and get myself some.

I recommend this read to anyone who enjoys baked goods, an innocent leading lady that falls for a tatted guy and a circle of side characters that are a delicious addition to the main story! I’m sad that it’s over, but I’m really glad that I picked this series up! All three books were ultimate fun reads!

Mind you the girl is a redhead in this story, but I couldn't resist:

Review by Lisa Kane

Charlie Grace has worked hard and it's all about to pay off. She's just leased the perfect place to open up her the bakery she's dreamed about for years. Cherry on Top is within reach.

I wanted to bake, and I wanted to do it in a bakery that I owned. I just hadn't realized that it would take ten years before that would actually happen.

The building sits next to a tattoo shop run by one gorgeous tattooed man! Charlie hasn't had any interest in the opposite sex for longer than she can remember, but hello....nerve endings not used in a while are tingling.

Here he stood in front of me like sex on a stick with his jet-black hair and tattoos that seem to cover every inch of his skin.

Charlie is a cute red head with adorable freckles. Brandon (hot tattoo guy) is not immune to this little beauty.

"I can't wait to taste your stuff."
I swallowed. "Sweet tooth?"
His eyes met mine. "Something like that." He winked. "I'll catch you later, Freckles."

Oh, he is one naughty boy!!

Brandon doesn't lead women on-he makes sure they know hooking up and having fun is all they are going to get with him. But when it comes to Charlie, the more he gets to know her, the more he wants to spend time with her. That's not something he's familiar with and it's confusing the hell out of him.

She was gorgeous sure, but that wasn't it. She was far more innocent than any woman I had ever been with before. A sure sign that I needed to leave her alone.

Now you don't really think he's going to leave her alone do you?

But when one his friends, David shows interest in Charlie, Brandon steps up his game.

I wasn't interested in dating the girl. Hell, I hadn't actually dated someone in so long that I could barely remember what the term meant. I just didn't want David to date her either.

Brandon finds himself doing things he's never bothered to do with other women. But everything's different with Charlie. She's not convinced that this player isn't just playing so she's putting up a few walls to protect her heart.

"I'm sure you could call someone else if you need sex that badly tonight."

Rut Ro Scooby, I think we've got some work to do now.

Where Bad Boys are Ruined is a sweet, slightly angsty read. Besides, who doesn't love a book that mentions cupcakes and cinnamon rolls?

"Considering I've ruined you for all other girls, I guess you'll do."

“ Brandon was dangerous. He was the king of guy who ruined girls like me. I had to keep my wits about me when I was near him. One little slip up and I wouldn’t recover.”

* I received an arc for my honest review *

Damn damn damn, hot damn. Someone give me a Brandon right now. I need him and his skilled hands ( that he tattoos with you dirty thing) right now. I would not mind being tattooed by him, at all. And you know what else this delicious book has? A BAKERY! Like... what can possibly be better than hot tattooed guys and a girl who opens a bakery right next to the tattoo parlor? I can’t find a better thing at all. I had cravings throughout the whole book, don’t know if it was a craving for tattooed boys or a cupcake but either way I do not complain, at all.

This book was so deliciously written that I could basically feel the cupcake aroma the whole time I was reading this. And let me tell you, it was one of those long, cozy reads with just the right amount of drama and tension and just such a delicious read.

I’ve read the two books before this one, Where good girls go to die, and Where good girls go to fall, and those were just as good as this one so I just knew I had to read this one too. And it was such a good choice. I absolutely love it, I was hooked throughout the whole thing. Love it love it love it!!

Romance, sweets and tattoos.

I loved the overall vibe of the book. A bakery owner and a tattoo artist? Like it so good. However I felt like the author tried so hard to make this a good girl x bad boy // opposites attract story but it wasn’t?? I mean Brandon wasn’t really a bad boy and Charlie wasn’t such a good girl, but she was “quircky”. Just bc Brandon was a tattoo artist he was a “bad boy” (makes no sense)

I loved Charlie and Brandon. Their banter was so fun and they were very cute together. Everything felt so fast between them, but the book was pretty short so I that kind of explains it.

This book had THE dumbest third act breakup i’ve ever read. Istg, the next chapter they were together again. Literally so stupid. Lots of misscomunication which we DONT like.

I really enjoyed Where Bad Boys are Ruined by Holly Renee. This is my first book by this author and I will definitely be reading more from her!

This was a great low angst book. There was drama but mostly from the heroine Charlie. But when you have the reputation that Brandon has a girl will definitely question his intentions and actions.

The writing was flawless and the characters charming, funny and engaging! And even though this book can be read as a standalone I want to go back and read the others in this series because I was loving their characters. Amazing read that doesn't need to be missed.

La-rovina-di-ogni-cattivo-ragazzo
Buongiorno lettori!

«A me pare avesse la testa a posto. Del resto, ha detto che sono bello.» Le sorrisi. [...]

«Nessuna intenzione.» Scrollai le spalle.

«Ce l’hai di sicuro l’intenzione. Non ti sei mai comportato così.»

«Così come?»
Sei dolce.»

E lo so che in questo momento, proprio come me, state sospirando.

This was the sweetest bad boy romance I’ve read yet. It made me so giddy and swooning over the moon. Brandon had the reputation of a bad boy since the first book in the series when we first met him, but all that went out the window when he met Charlie.

Charlie was this cute girly girl cupcake baker and she wrapped bad boy Brandon around her finger without meaning to. Their chemistry is sweet and heartwarming. They were comfort and peace all in one.
