Every little girl dreams of being swept off her feet by a charming Prince.
But my life was no fairy tale.
And in this kingdom called college, the rules went out the window.
I’d known golden boy, Theo Hunt, was the one for me since we were kids. My heart was his for the taking, but I had become nothing more than the MVP of the campus king’s friend-zone.
Easton Cole was a storm I couldn’t have predicted. He knocked me off my feet and stole my heart. But he was off-limits. Not only was he Theo’s frat brother but he was the teacher’s assistant in English 101 and I was acing every test.
My heart was torn, my feelings tangled.
Because as soon as I noticed Easton, Theo finally noticed me.
I was in love with two guys, as different as night and day, but I could only have one.
I only hoped I didn’t choose The Wrong Prince Charming.
🔥What a hot little number this one was!! It went down a path I never expected it to go!! Devices will be combusting all around the world!! 🔥
THE WRONG PRINCE CHARMING: Is a 'New Adult' stand-alone novel by Holly Renee. In this we meet Maddy, Theo and Easton.
Maddy has been best friends with Theo since she was twelve years old, it was only right that she would follow him to college because of a pact they made five years previous by staying together no matter what. Theo had been offered a full ride scholarship at the University of Georgia. They stuck together through thick and thin, when things between her parents became too much with their controlling ways Their control festered inside me with every new thing they demanded. and when Theo's father was too drunk and cruel he'd seek out Maddy.
But just recently her feelings towards him have been festering away in the background because now she wants more than to be Theo's best friend. But stepping over that line would change, everything..
But when she sets eyes on Easton who is Theo's frat brother, he sets buterlies aflutter, then Easton is assigned to be Maddy's TA, that alone throws a big fat forbidden sign in the air!! But spending so much time together for their assignment and outside of that the lines start to become blurred.
Now she's in love with two guys...But she can only have one..
My expectations going into this were high..From the cover, to the synopsis, to the author I was super excited to jump into this one!!
I really wished this was a wee bit longer. I wanted my heart and my mind to be at loggerheads over the two guys in her life, I was in love with two guys, as different as night and day, but I could only have one. but one always stood out above the other which made for a stronger connection all over. I never really got to connect with the other guy in this book like I was hoping for.
I wanted to get my heart ripped out and stomped on!
But overall I really enjoyed this one a hell of a lot. The angst, the drama, the steamy sexy moments a d the swoony moments had me devouring this book in record time. I read it in one sitting. Once started I couldn’t put it down!! Like a crack whore I just wanted more!!
Everybody knows that I'm so obsessed with College Romance books and this is the reason why I decided to read this book.
At first, I was though that Easton will be a bad boy but I was so wrong. He was everything but the bad boy and less "the wrong prince charming" 😉.
And Maddy is so lucky that she found him 💙!
I liked her character and I was really sorry for her when she couldn't decide who's she loves more Easton or Theo (her best friend). But luckily for her, her heart decided that one she always thought to be her end game was the wrong prince charming.
The first half of the book I liked Theo, but the other half I didn't like him. He did and said some things that best friends shouldn't say each other no matter how much he was in love with her
If you're like me, obsessed with a good College Romance books, this is a book for you 😍!
I love a good NA novel. I’ve previously read a couple Holly Renee books, so I was super anxious for this story. The Wrong Prince Charming has multiple facets to its storyline–showcasing a fun and playful aspect along with emotional, personal growth where a young woman is challenged with what is expected of her and who she really wants to be.
Maddy is a first-year college student, having just arrived at the same school as her best friend (whom she’s in love with), Theo. Along with controlling parents, it seems like her life is already planned out for her. That is until Easton enters the picture. Now, Maddy is torn between Theo, who she’s clearly stuck in the friend-zone with, and Easton, her gorgeous and completely off-limits TA. But when Maddy and Easton start spending time together working on a class project, will Maddy bend and conform to a pre-planned future she has no control over?...Or will she decide to take a chance on a life she’s only ever dreamed of?
I really, really liked this book. The conflicting and emotional struggles between Maddy and Easton were what I most enjoyed in the story. The flirtatious banter and angst-fueled sexual tension solidified my love for these two characters. But as much as these two shined throughout the story, I felt like we didn’t really get to know Theo. We know him as Maddy’s best friend and a football star, but who is he really? After reading the story, I can’t help but be left with a bad taste in my mouth with how he inevitably treats Maddy at the end of the book, and what he really thought of their friendship. I found his ‘wants his cake and eat it too’ attitude to be completely unattractive, and I’m a little disappointed that it was my last impression of him. He could have redeemed himself, but at that point in the book, it was too little too late.
Overall, The Wrong Prince Charming is a quick and satisfying read. The writing was top-notch and displays true empowerment when a young woman takes control of her own life and chooses “ME” over anyone else.

While there were some definite juvenile “who would really do that?” moments in this book, I found myself enjoying it enough to keep reading. It was ruined but a random gratuitous threesome. I read all types of books but this was a mess. It didn’t occur organically. The H (Ethan) threw a hissy fit after our h listened to some bad information from her best fried Theo. He could have waited and tried to work things out but instead decides to screw another girl, I guess to “show” her. He really isn’t Prince Charming. She had been upset and was DRUNK. She saw him take the first random girl he found to his room, so she had the bright idea to follow them. When she arrived he was sitting on his bed with her jn front of him getting undressed. He made it obvious that he was about to screw the girl and invited her to join (Ew). In her drunken state she started to kiss the girl which led to a full on threesome. I need to take a minute to point out that even in the perimeters of the story, none of what happens next makes sense or seems to go with the personalities given, but here goes... This guy, who up until this point had my respect, neglected the fact that she was upset and DRUNK when she walked in. He didn’t seem to recognize that if he really cared about her and their relationship he should focus on that instead of fulfilling every college guys wet dream. He gets into it and encourages her to eat the other girl out while he screws her. I just cringed. There is a lot to be said for exploring your sexuality but this is not what happened here. I don’t mean to slut shame her but all we know about the other girl is that she went off to screw this guy she had known for 5 minutes, and is fine with another girl just joining in. So our main character who has had sex twice at this point, and has not hinted at being sexually curious at all, is suddenly full on eating a girl out with reckless abandon? Jealousy and concern for STD’s apparently abandoned. Right, ok but moving on. At this point it’s not just gratuitous it is almost exploitative. She did all of this drunk and only at his encouragement each step of the way. It’s just really wrong. When it’s over she immediately gathers her clothes and leaves to do the walk of shame, as upset as she arrived. When she wakes up the next morning (with a nightmarish hangover to emphasize how drunk she really was) she feels completely disgusted with the situation and herself. The worst part (since I stupidly kept reading instead of just pulling a DNF). Is that nothing of this is ever mentioned again. Not the fact that at the first sign of trouble, he was ready to screw another girl while she was in the same house, nor the fact that he took advantage of her drunken and upset emotional stare for his own gratification. Nothing. They just move on to the next mini problem. I have a problem with that more than anything. He late pulls a “I can’t believe you screwed me over and used me when I treated you so well” fit when her friend gets him fired. All I could think about was “all you did was take her on a couple of cheap dates, then make her feel disgusted with herself by putting her in a situation you should have known she would regret if you actually have a crap about her”. He might have lost a job but she lost herself respect and has to live with that forever. He can get another job... the author took the easy way out by not addressing any of that in my opinion. How could she trust him? Who’s to say he won’t pull the same crap again going to have some kinky fun. He never apologized for it, or at least said that wasn’t going to do anything with the other gurl, that he only wanted her forever. I mean come on, what the heck was the point of it all? I really thought I’d love thins book. It has the Bibe of The Anti-stepbrother by Tijuana’s. Drop this and read that. The guy may have the jerk vibe but unlike this book he is actually decent human being and would never take advantage of the girl he cares about. I debated between this book and another tonight. I REALLY wish I’d chosen the other book. I left this one wishing she’d get some help and actually choose herself.
I really wanted to give this 3 stars and I was prepared for it, especially since I was in the mood for something simple and silly, but the last quarter of the book was pretty mediocre even for the standards of such a book.
As expected, everyone in the cast is hot and thankfully, Maddison is not the girl to put herself down or up, for that matter. She goes on about her life and you do not have to worry about her humble bragging about how could she possibly do anything or attract anyone! And that is really what I do like about her, she talks... normally! Which sounds nothing special, but works tend to make the female protagonist a victim who is often shy and cannot function properly and that is not the case here. Albeit various awkward situations and honestly, pretty bad event sequences due to the author, she holds her ground most of the time. Now, her new friend and roommate, Dillon, is your stock girlfriend character that has to only talk about guys and "how much would you like to be dicked down". Too bad.
For our boys... well, apart from being hot, you have Theo, the best friend with the 100% ambiguous relationship which would make absolutely no sense in real life and Easton, the apparently TOO OLD 21yo (they seriously keep saying he's too old for a 18yo woman. Like, really?) who everything you would want in a guy, except that he is supposedly off-limits due to his TA position, something he often says himself but always seems to forget as to give us some steaming action.
Now, you would think "Oh, what a hot triangle!" but to be honest, Theo is pretty much nonexistent for about half the book other than a page or two, until he realizes that Easton is around and decides to take an active part in the book. And that's where the book goes really mediocre. Maddy starts getting hurt on her own without any proof and it is the least relatable thing ever, because she keeps going on and on but it is literally in her own head, so...
And then, the ending is pretty underwhelming, so 2 stars seem to be on point. I enjoyed the book for the most part and the sex scenes were just as they should have been and even though I generally think that the wild animal instinct thing should be toned down, it works while you are reading!
4.5 stars and definitely one of my favourite reads this year
”Easton may not have been my Prince Charming, but he was everything I needed.”
This was my second book by Holly Renee and I’m absolutely in love with it. I hadn’t have this love-triangle angst level since Suddenly Forbidden by Ella Fields. My heart was constantly at war with whom Maddison should end up with in the end. The author did a fantastic job showing Maddison’s feelings for Theo and Easton and fighting her emotions, finding the way to her one true love. And even though my heart was torn, deep down it always knew who to choose.
”I was in love with two different men. And I could only have one.”
Easton Cole made a great entrance at my hearts door with no intention to leave. He’s almost too good to be true. Easton is one of the most swoonworthy bookboyfriends ever. And I loved how Maddison developed through her story. It’s like Easton made her see clearly for the first time in a very long time and she finally grew some backbone to go for what she really wanted.
However, I don’t think my poor heart could have handled any more drama, I think this book was cut short and some parts could have been worth to explore a little deeper. Let them mature a little more.
”I knew without a doubt that I may not have been the guy Maddison had always dreamed about, but I would always be everthing she needed.”
The Wrong Prince Charming is an angsty and entertaining love triangle that will stop your heart and restart it at the same time.
OMG! I loved this book so much! It was so good and everything I love about NA! The tension was off the charts and had me overheating with the chemistry! This book was over way too soon for me, but I’m going back for more books from Holly Renee because I think I just fell in love with her writing!
For some reason, I didn't remember this was a college romance so I was pleasantly surprised when I started and I realised it was one. Maddison just arrived in college and you see her reunite with her life long best friend Theo. These two have a super close friendship and you can see from both their actions and Maddison's thoughts that they both have feelings for each other but don't want to go there and be in danger of losing each other's friendship. You also understand from very early on that they both have crappy families and that they are each other's support system. Theo's father isn't a great one and Maddison's parents sort of seem him as their son and are better supporters of his than their own daughter. Maddison is living a life her parents imposed on her. No one understands her passion for photo journalism, not until Easton comes along.
Theo seems like a great guy from the start but you can see that although he is a great friend and his relationship with Maddison is adorable, he doesn't know her fully and he rather side with her parents than his best friend. And that didn't sit well with me right from the start. He starts changing his tune once Easton comes into the picture.
Now, Easton I honestly loved him from the second Maddison crashed into him. They just clicked and I enjoyed their banter so much. And slowly he reveals just how amazing he is. At first he's hesitant because he is her TA but when life forces them together again and again, it's impossible to resist her, specially while getting to know the girl beyond the beautiful face and smokin' body. Easton is just so sexy, fun, adventurous and he's there for her no matter what. He makes her dreams come true and helps her get the resolve to do what's right for her. I honestly think he was amazing beyond belief.
Some will say this is a love triangle and the idea is there but it's not fully one. Yes, Maddison is in love with two great guys at the same time but I don't think there ever really was a doubt to who she ends up with when you start seeing everyone's true colors. At least for me. But it's a fact that The Wrong Prince Charming has all the drama of a story where two guys are after the same girl and said girl is in love with both of them. It's sweet, it's conflicting and it's angsty and you'll love the ride.
However, there are points in the story that could have been better. Close to the end, everything happens so goddarn fast. It should have been a slower process, things should have been better explained, it kind of felt like somethings were jumped over. Maddison forgave too soon and with no real explanation or apology, she deserved more than what she got. And when she finally put her balls to use and took reins over her life, I would have liked to see the conversation with her parents and gotten more details over her decision and thought process. And Easton too, how he learned what she was doing and how he went from being hurt and angry to forgiving her. I think these were major moments in the story and what it had been building up to that just didn't get their monumental justice. I felt it was definitely lacking in all these points and that's why I'm rating this a 4 and not a 5. In my opinion Easton deserved all the stars on his own ;)

3-3.5 stars. I liked the sound of this book because it seemed to promise angst and a love triangle, which it somewhat does, but not at high octane. Maddison has been in love with her best guy friend Theo for a long time and is trying to navigate out of the friend zone now that they’re at college together. Then Easton comes along with his playfulness and flirtations, immediately sweeping her off of her feet. In the meantime, he’s also her TA. I thought Easton was very likable and even swoony, but I’m not sure why he didn’t put up more resistance initially given his position and the risks if everything was truly at stake for him. That would’ve ramped up the forbidden tension and although it was a factor, it wasn’t sold strong enough. Theo was not a well-developed character, just snippets of him living out the best parts of college social life, but not as the best friend that he’s really supposed to be; that is primarily told rather than shown. What the reader is actually shown isn’t convincing either. And then there’s this scene that seems to come out of left field the night of the formal. There’s no lead up or anything so I was primarily confused as to how that fit into the story overall, unless it was chalked up to Maddison living for herself and taking control since that is one of the themes, where she is not the main driver of the decisions in her life. The book could’ve been longer to flesh out certain parts and character arcs to show they had truly developed as a result of the events taking place, yet I still found myself interested to see how it would end.
Insanely sexy. Holly really delivers with this hot college romance. Loved!
The Wrong Prince Charming by Holly Renee is a standalone, contemporary romance novel. Meet Madison, Maddy, Duncan. She's a freshman at college and followed her highschool boyfriend to college. She meets Easton and is drawn to him. What to do? Easton or Theo?
Theo and Maddison are close but since he's gone to college, he really has another life outside of her. Maddison meets Theo's frat brother, Easton, and from that first meeting, there is chemistry. She's feeling things for this guy that she's never felt before. He is also her TA, which anything beyond student/teacher relationship is forbidden.
Friendship and finding new relationships can always bring drama and boy does it here! But not in an annoying way. It was addicting and I couldn’t wait to see how it all came to be. Hell yes, this little almost Love Triangle had me hooked!! I loved how this author brought the characters to life and their interactions with each other had me torn between who i wanted her to choose and who she should choose!! Oh the angst!!!Both guy had ticked mostly all the boxes!! All in all, I highly recommend you meet Easton Cole. If you're like me, obsessed with a good College Romance books, this is a book for you 😍! Can I give out more than 5 STARS? Because I totally am!
“...he kissed me like he had been missing me as badly as I had been missing him. It wasn’t gentle or teasing. It felt like a storm. The wild chaos of lightning and wind and rain pounding down against me, and just for a second there was a silence, just before the thunder hit, and I knew with absolute certainty that I would never love anyone like I loved Easton Cole.”
Oh, be still my heart. This book absolutely wrecked me, but in that good way, y’know? THE WRONG PRINCE CHARMING is a love triangle story, of sorts; but fairly early on there was only one winner for me, and from then on, I was Team Easton all the way. He was just so perfect for Maddy, and I fell in love with him right alongside her. This book brings all the feels; it’s full of angst and emotion, and at times my poor old heart couldn’t take it, but I knew everything would work out okay in the end. Holly Renee has written such a beautiful story, and I’m pretty certain I will be revisiting it time and time again.
Not buying this story. The first part had promise, the second part was a total 360 of the story and sucked.
Not only was this fast insta-love but the supposed triangle was not actually present. There was no character development. At all. I didn’t get both guys reaction once the confrontation happened. We must completely have missed something or weren’t in on the secret. PLUS why was there not one eyebrow raised at the ménage scene? I did not expect there to be a steamy hot threesome. It wasn’t necessary. It lowered the story from terrible to dreadful. I lost interest from here on out. I should have DNF. I didn’t care for either guys or the h. Boring, silly and convenient ending. There were no Prince Charming in this story. 2 stars for the banter and dialogue between Easton and Maddison. And why is her name spelled with two d’s?
The book had so much potential before the author turned the heroine into a whiny childish douchy bitch. What a little whore she turned out to be. I hate when undeserving characters get happy endings, she should have caught an std and that could have been the end.
I absolutely loved this book, I don’t think the cheesy smile left my face the entire time. Maddison and Theo's friendship is rare and fun, it’s hard to have a best friend who is male and not have the lines crossed but for so many years they did it. When Maddy meets Easton her world is rocked and she is feelings things she knows she shouldn’t. Now torn between the best friend whom she loves and a new attractive male who will she choose?
Easton and Maddison’s relationship didn’t come easy. There were secrets kept and feelings hurt but in the end the happily ever after I wanted, happened!
I went into The Wrong Prince Charming excited to try a new-to-me author and to get a dose of love triangle I have wanted for a bit. While I loved the bones of the book and I thought the prose was solid… I think it lacked detail and lacked an arc for Theo. I never really got the chance to “love” him before deciding who I liked. This book could have been a chunk longer with more Theo moments and a little more build-up to the conflict. There was also a scene in the book that just didn’t fit and felt like it was for shock rather than plot building. It also seemed very out-of-character for Maddison despite her growing into her person throughout the book.
Maddison was cute but forgettable. A sheltered girl following the path her parents suggest. I felt like she grew, but she wasn’t stand out. Easton was sex on a stick, and I enjoyed their back-and-forth and natural chemistry they had. Again with Theo, we never really got a chance to get to KNOW him before he made himself a quasi-villain, and I wish we would have had more of the good he and Maddison shared.
I would categorize this book as a quick, simple, and easy read. I would have enjoyed it had it been a bit longer with some more character development.
Nop, no me gustó!!
Oh where do I begin with this one... I wanted to love it. Heck, I wanted to like it but it was so very firmly meh I have no idea why so many people raved about it when it released.
Maddy was irritating. Her relationship/friendship with Theo was utterly whacked. Easton was pretty cool but his willingness to throw away everything he'd worked for on Maddy - who'd leave his bed to go and snuggle with her BFF Theo - was incomprehensible. Maddy had this magical allure thing going on quite clearly and, naturally, all the guys (Theo and Easton) were so hot that they just fried her brain cells and turned this allegedly smart gal her into an idiot. The "love-triangle" was the most ridiculous and forced thing I'd ever read and I have no idea what the hell happened in the final quarter beyond forced drama for the sake of drama. The sad thing is, even though the book wouldn't have been all that, it would have been a good-enough read if it wasn't for the descent into absolute farce towards the end.
Needless to say, I don't recommend and I'll probably avoid books by the author in the future.
”I didn’t want his control.” ”I wanted his chaos.” ”I wanted him wild.”
The Wrong Prince Charming by Holly Renee brings all of the banter and the swooning.
I went in blind, after several friends had told me this book was a must read, so I had no idea what trope I was going to get.
Easton flipping Cole.... Gahhhhh that guy. I want him. I want his smile. I want to wear his cap. I want every single delicious inch of him. Holly Renee created the perfect swoony hero and Easton has secured his spot on my book boyfriend list forever.
Maddison’s best friend, Theo has always had her heart. But things change when she gets to college and meets his frat brother Easton. I won’t spoil the book for any of you but I will tell you this is an off limits romance which means lots of angst.
I was disappointed by this reading The author managed to convince me of the instant chemistry between Maddison and Easton, but that she failed to create a strong and determined female protagonist. Easton, on the other hand, was a sincere and character-like boy who didn't deserve Madisson. In the end that he would forgive her so easily, he gave Easton some personality. I hated the situation in which he put Easton. He was clearly very committed to her but she only allowed herself to be manipulated by Theo, her best friend, who only had hidden reasons to act like this, never thinking about her, only her own selfishness. Theo also left rositas with all the damage he caused. Personally I think the trio was left over and did not contribute anything to reading.
Wow this book was amazing it made me feel good and what made it even better was the audiobook hands down one of the best narrations I have listened to.
If your looking for: 🔹Little Spice 🌶️ 🔹Banter 🔹Protective Best Friend 🔹Two Love Interests
This book is for you. Enjoyed every minute of this read!
I think I lost brain cells reading this one. I've realised that Holly Renee works for me when she is writing about adults. But as soon as it is about college-age kids, then I can't stand it at all - and I'm using the term kids because that's how these motherfuckers be acting.
⭐️ 4 "Live a Little" Stars ⭐️ The Wrong Prince Charming is fast paced story that I enjoyed a lot. Holly Renee strikes again with this new adult romance with all the swoon factors! I just couldn’t get enough!
Maddy is starting college and it’s an opportunity to make her feelings for her best friend Theo known. They’ve been straddling the line between friends and more for a while, but she needs a little something to take the plunge. Meeting Easton changes many things, though. This cocky older college student is irresistible! He’s truly charming in his pursuit of her affection, it’s so sweet. I lived for their electric exchanges with the underlying attraction and humour. The flirty banter between them are just so alluring!
"There was no warning, no permission, he simply pressed his lips to mine and drew out my ragged breath as if it belonged to him."
Maddison’s changing feelings for Theo, but also the forbidden aspect of her relationship with Easton makes her conflicted between the two guys. Yes, Easton is the TA in one of her college courses! Even though they both have a lot to lose if their illicit liaison is revealed, they just can’t deny the pull! Like any Holly Renee’s novels, it gets so hot and intense! The scorching action is so damn appealing!
As with most college romances, we get drama, some stupid choices and actions, but overall it’s a very entertaining book! What sold me on this novel is definitely the great chemistry between this couple! They put a smile on my face every single time! I recommend The Wrong Prince Charming if you’re searching for a rather short read that will amuse you!

I really liked this one, but knowing how good some of Holly Renee’s other works are, color me a bit disappointed. I hadn’t even begun to love interest 1 before were introduced to Love interest 2 so that buildup was nonexistent which made the love triangle pretty bland and painless. I like mind a little angst and tension in my love triangles and there was little if any. Where this one fell flat for me was in the tropes, not necessarily the tropes themselves— but the lack of commitment with going full in with them. The love triangle didn’t seem to develop until over halfway through, the forbidden romance element felt weak and it was difficult to form connections to the characters as they weren’t fleshed out. Also the conflict literally lasted 2 seconds. I had issues with the love interests treating women like property and objects which they “traded” in order to impress and make the heroine jealous, and some sex scenes felt as though they came out of nowhere and from a place of pressure or seeking to please at the expense of their own complete willingness.
To be fair I was a bit more picky in this one because it was one of my most anticipated reads, and I know Holly Renee has the potential to write some amazing romance.
If the synopsis interests you, I still recommend this one if you’re looking for a steamy college romance with minimal conflict!
Me: Please, Holly Renee, keep writing fuck hot guys. - Where Bad Boys Are Ruined Review
Holly Renee: Hold my beer…
*Easton Cole exits the bathroom*
*********************************************** I’m a hard core Brandon girl. He’s my favorite Holly Renee hero. That was until Easton Cole entered my life. I’m almost ashamed to say I was like Brandon who?! (Please forgive me Brandon! I still love you! And you’re still my favorite, you’re just sharing your spot.)
I didn’t think they could get any hotter than Brandon, but Holly Renee proved me wrong. She had me lusting after a 21-year-old. Something I do not do, especially since my oldest will be 21. The cougar in me was coming out strong with this one. Part of that, though, was the fact I often forgot how old Easton was. The way Holly wrote him made him seem years older, making it easier to become wrapped up in him.
I promise you; Easton Cole is going to slay hearts the world over. There was so much to love about him. When you first meet Easton, you’re introduced to the cocky, flirtatious frat boy, with one hell of a smile. The resident bad boy. But I’m here to tell you, there is so much more to Easton. He’s also attentive, bold, charming, gentle, easy going, smart, down to earth, playful, and a tad bit revengeful.
Now, don’t get me wrong, you’ll most definitely get the bad boy—oh god will you. *fans self* Did I happen to also mention that he is downright dirty? No? Well, one word… Drive-Ins. You’re welcome.
Speaking of dirty, I think this is Holly Renee’s most risqué book to date. Definitely the sexiest. I was pleasantly surprised by that and found it hot as hell! I love, love, love when an author steps outside their comfort zone to give us something shocking and not their norm. With that said, there is a kink thrown in some won’t enjoy. Please see the spoiler tag if there are things you aren’t fond of reading. There is MFF (male/female/female) action.
Anywho, I got a little off track with my gushing, back to our regularly scheduled program.
Maddison and Theo are the bestest of friends. Theo’s Maddy’s first love. Theo’s also Easton’s frat brother. Maddy should be off limits for that reason alone. Then throw in the whole Easton is Maddison’s TA. Dude should be avoiding falling for her like the plague.
However, that isn’t possible. The moment they are within each other’s vicinity sparks fly. The attraction can’t be denied and the more they are around each other the more it grows. Things begin to spiral out of control, as they often due with matters of the heart.
When it comes to these two guys, Maddison is a hot mess. Her mind is a whirlwind of emotion and confusion. Should she choose Theo, her safe reliable protector, or Easton, the man who makes her feel alive?
I know Maddison and Theo’s relationship is special, but I just didn’t feel them the same way I felt Easton and Maddison. Their chemistry didn’t set the world on fire, nor did it really interest me. My heart, and I believe Maddy’s too, was set on one specific hero and I never entertained anything else.
For me, the end game was always Easton and Maddison. Together they were delicious. Their connection and chemistry off the charts. They brought out the best in each other, and sometimes the worst. They challenged each other; there wasn’t anything safe or predictable about them. They balanced each other perfectly. So, in my mind, there was never a true triangle.
Instead, there was just a guy and a girl who were so comfortable with one another that they had a hard time letting go of what was familiar and easy.
The only reason I didn’t rate this one 5 stars was because there were areas I had wished Holly Renee had delved a bit more. Areas that felt a little rushed. Most of these were closer to the end when the angsty parts hit. Plus, I felt Maddison forgave Theo a bit to fast. I wanted more out of that, and she deserved more from that whole ordeal.
All in all, I highly recommend you meet Easton Cole. He’ll be on my reread list for a long time coming.
