Of course, the Grays still wanted humanity exterminated, not to mention being surrounded by six other great empires spanning multiple galaxies.
He’d need to work hard to survive, and after that define humanity’s place and intentions in the galaxy, the empire, and perhaps even beyond…
Author’s note: This is primarily a space opera. The fantasy elements of the book are tangential at best. Oh, there’s mages, shifters, witches, and vampires in these pages, but that’s really not the focus.
I've been an avid book reader since I was a teenager in the 1980's. My preferred genre's are science fiction and fantasy.
I wrote some short stories and was encouraged to try writing and self publishing by some friends. I work in computers and writing is an obsessive hobby I have been trying to hone for a couple of years now. I'll let you judge if I have succeeded or not.
This was a fairly enjoyable read for what is a ’comic book’ style SciFi story. Everything comes just a bit too easily and the numbers of ships and missiles have become just a bit ridiculous. However I am happy to give three stars.
Well written, but got bogged down in math/plans. I know that's what these books are about, but I still found myself having to skim past a lot of stuff. It gets a 3 for my overall experience, but if you really liked the first two books you'll like this one too.
D. L. Harrison does it again, another thrilling space opera with awesome technology and action!
I've fallen in love with D.L. Harrison and his mind boggling magic & high tech space opera. It's truly amazing the incredible technological advances that this series invents. And not only are the technological advances awesome, so are the tactics for using them! Do yourself a favor, read this entire Technomancer series. You'll be sooo very glad that you did! Please keep up the great work, D.L. Harrison, I'm going to start looking for my next series of yours to start reading right now! I can hardly wait!!
This series is interesting because the protagonist has a magical power, but his power is one that works with technology. Interesting to watch him defend himself then his planet from rapacious aliens using things like the ability to control nanobots.
But that's probably the most interesting part of the series for me. The government asshats, the sexy women, evil aliens seem pretty standard. In three books, the protagonist goes from despised nerd to boss of the solar system with all a stereotypical nerd's dreams fulfilled. And with even more evil aliens to defeat.
Although I had fun with the first 3 books in the series, I probably will not pick up #4.
More of the same and yet still fun. The only problem I have is that the numbers are getting ridiculous and seem to not be sustainable. To much money for nothing so to speak. Still i will read the next book. That said most of this is being held together by his Magic so may be time to have lots of heirs to make sure the power is available in the future assuming the powers can be inherited.... If not it's a house of cards.
Mistakes: I found three misspelled words. All three books are actually just short stories and could be combined into one book of three parts with just a bit of work. Plot: Mostly this was rapid space battles. We meet a few new races as well. I’d be interested in seeing more of them. Characters: The Mc is interesting and I still think the other characters could be fleshed out more. 7/10 I would be interested in another arc of this story.
I enjoyed this. Not as much as the first in the series but it was still fun to read. It is always difficult to manage increasingly powerful main characters and D.L. Harrison did a good job. While it's sad to see this series come to an end, I think it's the right decision. I hope this universe will be revisited at some point.
D L Harrison is on my favorite author's list. I highly recommend reading all three books in the order written. That being said, each book had my complete attention from beginning to end. Lots of tech, lots of adventure and lots of what if scenarios, enjoy!😯
Loved the space opera finishing book of the series. Would love more in the series. Could go in soooo many ways ie magic, tech, colonies other characters, other races. Loved it.
Loved it and it ended in a satisfying manner. Leaves room for new stories and adventures but closes this chapter quite nicely would love to see other stories from new POVs or just Hundreds of years down the line.
It was planned to end in three books, and the Author really managed to end it in a trilogy. That's a rarity, as many Authors managed to lost their story trail by book 2, or managed to expand the universe too much that 3 books is not enough. Good job!
Good science fiction, decent story. Except. He talks about going to other nearby galaxies like he's going to another Wal-Mart in a big town. They are really far away, I mean, if you were going to walk with big steps it would be ridiculous long.
