A business man's entire world changes when he thought he was just going on a normal business trip selling legalized non narcotic drugs in India to a client he plans on meeting in Panama, but then he is detained and tried to be extradited to the States for criminal penalties there. And he seeks the help from a young lawyer in Panama with the passion to do anything to get him out. I was given this book The exchange for an honest review and it isn't something I would normally have picked up, however I really enjoyed the author's knowledge of the situation and the legality of things and pharmaceuticals drugs. The writing style is a little different than what I'm used to but I love seeing the different cultures that flowed out of the story in his writing and I also learned quite a few things about a situation I didn't even know existed!
Different from my normal type of book, I'm grateful to have won this in a giveaway. This book follows the legal battles of a man caught up in the nightmare of his life. I'm not exactly someone with a legal or business mindset, but the book was written in a way to keep me interested and able to understand what was going on.
It's a very interesting story. I have dealt with many people from India, and the attitude of the main character is exactly the way they act. I loved the story and the message.
I won this book and was very excited to be able to read about this case. I was disappointed with the caliber of writing. I found it quite boring and at times a real chore to complete. However, I did learn a lot about the legalities of exporting medications and the culture of the Panamaian legal system.
