Liza Parrish was nobody special—until she witnessed a murder that had the entire police department reeling. Only traumatic amnesia kept her from remembering the killer's identity. With the city's finest at her disposal, she needed the bravest man to provide top-notch protection.
Holden Kincaid was KCPD's number one sharpshooter, and he was desperate for answers regarding his father's murder. Unfortunately, being so close to the case, he was denied access to their irresistible material witness…until the security of her whereabouts was compromised. Taking Liza into his very personal custody would definitely keep her safe—from everyone but himself.

Yet another winner. Maybe not as good as the previous book in this series, but still one heck of a story. Great characters (I particularly loved Liza and her tough-chick persona), greater chemistry, wonderful suspense and tension, excellent pacing...
The intrigue revolving around John Kincaid’s murder only intensified, the details got murkier and murkier, despite Liza’s input...And apparently the quasi-reveal of the big villain in the previous book was just a red herring. Now I really don’t have a clue who the bad guy is. Is it someone closer to home than the four Kincaid brothers think? I can’t wait to read Edward’s story and find out the truth. Plus, I kinda fell for the older Kincaid brother. ;)
I usually love to read Julie Miller; but this title fell just a little short, the storyline and characters didn't draw this reader in. Although I have every intention of continuing "The Precinct; Botherhood of the Badge" series.
I wanted to like this more. It stand alone fine although it is part of a series. The parts with the dogs are fun. I like the brother-theme going on too. The end is very exciting. I guess I didn't connect with Liza abd Holden as much as I'd like. Guess that's what happens with a short book.
Holden and Liza were a little TOO insta-love-y for me. But that's okay, I still liked the book. They lacked a certain chemistry, though? Or maybe I'm just too spoilt because of the deliciousness that was Atticus and Brooke. But whatever. I love the Kincaid brothers and I love their mom and I love Sawyer and Mel (even though she wasn't here) and Benjamin and Atticus and his Brooke and EDWARD and sjheiehdkehdkdjrjfhkdj
Gotta love a mystery with three lovable mutts, a kick butt SWAT sharpshooter and a vet grad student. Private SWAT Takeover is non-stop action, twists and turns, and heat! Awesome read!
Would have given it 3 stars if not for the heroine. She made such dumb decisions.Didnt feel like reading the book, especially when she was being called "brave". Skipped last 40 pages.

I think the story is too dated for me.
The idea was pretty good, but the execution failed. It has been too short, so there is hardly time to develop neither characters nor plot. Everything has been so shallow. They had not seen each other more than twice and were already thinking about the "I love you´s". In fact, when they arrived (the I love you´s) they caught me totally unaware. It was very abrupt, as was the suspense (which by the way, does not end in this story). And hard to believe. This is one of those cases where they kiss between bullet and bullet ... impossible to feel neither the danger nor the attraction.
Anyway, it has been too shallow to enjoy it. A pity.
