Can Sabine and Tanner move on from their troubled pasts and build a love based on trust?
Seeking Home is the first book in the Rockyview romalnce/ Family Bonds series. If you like heartfelt explorations of hope, picturesque rural settings, and emotional journeys, then you’ll love this story.
Even with over 1.5 million copies of my books in print, I still feel like I haven’t written the perfect story. From my office in the woods of Northern Alberta, I’ll keep trying. Inspired by spectacular sunrises, breathtaking Northern Lights and long walks through wooded trails, the stories keep coming. This was a good read. Sabine is planning on buying the ranch that Tanner grew up on. He ends up helping her get all the equipment she needs. Both of them are troubled people and are trying to move on from their pasts. Thankfully together they are able to do just that.
Sabine buys Tanner's ranch but he should never have sold it. He hangs around to help her settle in and bingo, falls in love. I really loved this book, having a ranch background myself, raising black Angus cattle just as she is doing. I love that when Tanner makes his decision, he buys her an engagement tractor. Really looking forward to the next book in the series.

She had brought a ranch with an insurance layout after the death of her husband. Now she needs to get it ready. Love may just make it to even better. See if she finds that love
I so enjoyed this book. It conveys the message that God can help us overcome whatever we face no matter how broken we are. Also, we can find love again if we open our hearts and let Him heal us
I usually like books that Carolyne Aarsen writes, but I found this one hard to finish because it didn't seem to have a lot of conflict. I thought Tanner was too indecisive about what he wanted, and I couldn't understand his attachment to his former love's father. The dynamics to keep me interested just weren't in this book.
I always look forward to Carolyne's new stories, and Seeking Home did not disappoint.
This story, set in the Canadian ranching community of Rockyview, is centered around the last child of the Bond family still on the family ranch. Tanner Bond has decided to sell the place, and take up business with his ex-father-in-law. The ranch's new owner just happens to be a former schoolmate, Sabine, who has returned, in success, to her hometown to put to bed bad memories of the loss of her own family's ranch and how she was treated by her peers. Tragedy and loss affect all the players in this story, and how those feelings all play out is the central theme of Seeking Home. This book is well named.
Carolyne writes characters who stubbornly hold on to the things that motivate them; Tanner Bond has not overcome his grief at the deaths of his wife and step-daughter, and his entire focus is on avoiding resolution of that grief. Sabine Radowski is a single mother who fiercely protects her young daughter, yet still yearns to come home and show everybody she no longer is the "Rag Girl", who was bullied and humilliated in her youth. Carolyne's story draws out all the emotions of these characters, as well as their familiy and friends who have watched these dramas wear the two down.
The way Carolyne writes these elegant interactions between characters is emotional to the reader. You feel the awakening of the relationship between Tanner and Sabine, as well as between Tanner and Sabine's young daughter. All of these characters need each other, and the tension in the story is about how they all navigate these budding relationships, as well as their relationship with their faith.
But, the central character of this story is the Ranch; how it provides hope and purpose to Sabine and her daughter, and how it holds on to Tanner while he is fighting his past to leave it. The hero of the story is the faith in God of both Tanner's grandmother and Sabine. Carolyne's descriptions of the ranch and its beauty are stunning, making the reader want to go visit, just for the views.
This book is worth reading. I highly recommend you do. I can't wait for the next installment.
Seeking Home by Carolyne Aarsen Family Bonds Series Book One Tanner Bond is ready to start a new life. He's selling the ranch and going into a business with his former father-in-law. He'll finally be making a lot of money. And yet, as he visits Nana in the home she raised him and his twin brother in...doubts start to creep in. He's selling his legacy. Land that has been in his family for a long time and with a lot of history.
Sabine Radowski had left Rockyview in shame. Her father had lost their legacy. A ranch and land that had been started by her great-grandfather. But her father hadn't kept it up and all was lost. Eventually, even her father. But she's come back to show all those who snickered behind her back and called her names. Sabine was back and had bought a ranch. She'd show them all. Not to mention, give her daughter, Olivia, the childhood Sabine had once enjoyed. Only for Olivia, it would be much better.
I loved this story, the characters had lots of past issues with people who were not very nice. When you are caught up in a bad relationship you can’t always see the forest for the trees. You commitment to the relationship and your love help you deal with the hurts and disappointments. Sometimes, in spite of all you say and do, the relationship ends and you are left with the confusion and pain. God is the healer of all of our pain, He is the comforter, He loves us and wants us to seek Him to help us navigate through this journey of life. I loved the way the story helped the characters to process their pain, the reasons behind their decisions, and to realize what the truth actually was. This is a great read!
Sweet story of loss, sorrow and grief. Sabine and Olivia move to the Circle K ranch, when an unexpected insurance payout lets Sabine have down her dream of moving back to Rockies as a rancher. There they meet the conflicted Tanner who's sold the ranch and his wise Nana who's decided to move into the city after a heart attack. Healing starts to come as the magnificent surroundings fresh air and hard work starts to bring them together. A dangerous situation makes Tanner realise he needs God's help after all, and to stop running away and face the reality of his past grief. Believable characters and flowing storyline make this a well-written and enjoyable prelude to the Family Bond series.
This story is a great way to begin a new series. It’s all about a re-do in life; re-knewed faith after grief; and, returning to homeward roots. As a child she had been ridiculed for being poor; embarrassed by a drunken father; and, now faced the death of her estranged husband. Sabine and her daughter, Olivia, are finding a new home and future on a ranch back were her heartaches all began. I loved this story-line as it touched so many places in my heart, brought tears to my eyes and made me smile at new beginnings. I also enjoyed the touching flowers in the end which brought peace to three souls.
I have had this book for sometime and had forgotten I had not read it. It’s as good as her recent books. I love the way Ms Aarsen infuses Christian principles into her stories. Sabine carries painful memories of her drunken father and being rediculed for her used clothing she had to wear to school. Tanner blames himself For his wife and daughters deaths even though his wife caused the fatal accident due to speeding on snow covered roads. That they both can let the past go and look to a future makes for an inspiring book. Carolyn Aarsen is in a class by herself as a Christian writer and if you are a person of faith you will love how she touches on Christian principles without beOmg preachy.
A touching story that grabbed my heart early and kept me engrossed through the final pages. I have read other books in this series without realizing I hadn't read this first one. This family Bond is about Tanner and the lady to whom he is selling the Bond Ranch, and her daughter Olivia. Naturally, we get the interaction with Nana Bond as she is preparing to make the move into town. The characters are dynamic with lots of background issues that give you an oversight into their pasts. There are a couple of stories going on that are brought to a pleasant conclusion. A great beginning for an awesome series, IMO. Good, clean, enjoyable reading. Submitted by: VICKI FROM WYOMING
This is a great story, full of emotional choices & dreams for both Tanner & Sabine. They are strong characters, as well as Tanner's wonderful Nana Jeanie. And Olivia is simply cute, spunky, courageous, & outspoken. Even I wanted to grab her & hug her a couple of times. 😃 This is full of warmth, love, & shows strength & faith in God without someone praying every five minutes, as in some books I've read. I loved the stories that had been handed down in Tanner's family too! A special nugget was a great touch, making me wonder if it will be mentioned in the next 3 books?? I really like this author & I know ya'll will too!
A tragedy has swept away any hope of Tanner remaining on his family's ranch, the ranch in Rockyview that has been in his their sanctuary for generations. Sabine Radowski was forced to leave Rockyview as a desperately poor and helpless teenager. Now, she has returned to her hometown as the new owner of Tanner's very large and very empty ranch. God has a plan for both of these characters. Both of them have had their faith shaken and will need to learn to trust again. This dramatic, heartwarming tale will have you sympathizing with each of these amazing characters as you follow them through their individual discoveries and trials. Really Great Faith Based Story!!!!!
This is a story of a young mother and daughter returning to her hometown. She is starting a new life after her husband's death. Through the life insurance payout Sabine is able to purchase a ranch.
The seller of the ranch is Tanner who lost his wife and daughter three years ago when his wife lost control of her car and plunged in the river.
This is a story of grieving, forgiveness and love. Great characters and wonderful story.
Looking forward to reading the next book in the Family Bonds Series.

Letting go isn't as easy as it sounds. Particularly when it's loves ones . Tanner has been running from his grief for three years. He's selling the family ranch and moving away.
Sabine has returned to her hometown and with her daughter, is going to prove to the townspeople she isn't her father. When she meets Tanner to look over his ranch, being alone suddenly doesn't look so inviting...
This was a good book about two people that both had had a lot of problems in the past. Together they work these problems out with a cast of other people that fit right into their lives.
Sabine bought a farm for her and her daughter Olivia, that had belonged to Tanner and his family for generations. After selling it to her, he really has second thoughts, but things always seem to work out better once you find God again, and that is just what happened.
I really enjoyed the book. The story was awesome and I enjoyed the characters. Sabine is such a strong woman after growing up with people who never understood her family life. Tanner carried around so much guilt for 3 years. Finally after talking to his grandmother and falling for Sabine did he finally stop feeling guilty and relooked at the whole situation in a new light. Real love and God's love makes a difference in one's life!
This was a really great story. Sabine and her daughter we’re moving to Rocket view. Sabine had bought a ranch, which had always been her dream. Her husband had been killed in an accident and his insurance money had made this possible. She was buying Tanner Bonds ranch. Will she find true love. Read and find out
This book deserves this rating due to the east flow of reading all the way through. I like this author's writing. She has great characters, along with animals and children. Her setting was really nice - made me want to go there! This was an all around good story.
I rarely give a 5 rating. This book was a solid 4 . I enjoyed the interaction between the 4 main characters. I appreciated grandmother's faith and willingness to share her heart and prayers with her grandson. What a rich heritage . I know the next book will be just as delightful.
What a sweet story! Watching the MCs grow as individuals was a joy, especially as they put trust in God to help them along the way. The book is a good read, nice and cozy, perfect for relaxing at the end of a long day. If you enjoy clean, sweet, inspirational romance, this could be enjoyable for you.
As with everything I've read , Carolyne. I so enjoyed Sabine and Tanner, in their (falling in love story)! I also loved the story of Tanner and Olivia's story of them coming to care about each other, after a tough beginning. Each of these people as well as Tanner's nanna were so well developed, I felt I actually knew them! Well worth a read!
I liked that the story kept my attention and that it spoke to blended families in a Christian context. There is the wise person, the intuitive person, the person that needs to hear something a different way, and the person who has the courage to not let the past dictate the present.
Tanner sold his ranch to Sabine, a past high school classmate. Who was to know that in the transition of ownership of the ranch they would build a relationship. This is such a sweet story that you don’t have to stay in the past forever. Must read!
I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read with several smaller stories in one. Carolyne Aarsen wrote an excellent storyline about grief and the many different emotions a person goes through during that time. Each of her characters handled their grief in different ways but were able to overcome it and move forward in life.
This story was so well written that I could hardly put it down. I found the characters interesting and loveable. I liked how the characters helped each other learn and grow through different life issues. Caroline Warren is a truly wonderful author. I have greatly enjoyed every book of hers that I have read. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
