When a business arrangement takes a personal turn ...
Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again. This is Mason's story ...
Single Dad of Seattle Mason Whitfield made some big changes in his life five years ago, starting with quitting his Fortune 500 job and moving away. Now he's back in Seattle, he bought a bar and is finally a father--life is good. But when a beautiful mystery woman keeps coming to his bar interviewing men night after night, Mason's curiosity is piqued and he just has to know more.
Five years ago, cancer nearly killed Lowenna Chambers. Then her husband left her -- for her sister...
Now in remission, she just opened up her own chocolate shop and is determined to live the best life possible. Until she's asked to do the impossible: design an enormous chocolate center piece and give a speech for her sister and ex-husband's wedding, on Valentine's day of all days. A perfect opportunity to show them she's moved on. But first, she needs a date. A drool-worthy hunk who will steal the show. Cue, Mason who is tall, dark, dangerous and with two sleeves of tattoos to boot.
But as the wedding approaches it's no longer a simple business arrangement between Mason and Lowenna. She likes him and he wants her, but love is never that simple and a future together begins to look unattainable.
Can Lowenna get over her pain and heartache and spend Valentine's with the single dad, or will she let yesterday haunt her today, ruining any chance of a beautiful tomorrow?
**Note: This book can be read as a standalone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and of course as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliffhanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.
A Canadian West Coast baby born and raised, Whitley is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have two beautiful daughters and a fluffy dog. She spends her days making food that gets thrown on the floor, vacuuming Cheerios out from under the couch and making sure that the dog food doesn't end up in the air conditioner. But when the kids are at school and it's not quite wine o'clock, Whitley sits down, avoids the pile of laundry on the couch, and writes.
A lover of all things decadent; wine, cheese, chocolate and spicy erotic romance, Whitley brings the humorous side of sex, the ridiculous side of relationships and the suspense of everyday life into her stories. With single dads, firefighters, Navy SEALs, mommy wars, body issues, threesomes, bondage and role-playing, Whitley’s books have all the funny and fabulously filthy words you could hope for.

First book that I have read from this author and the first book that I have read in this series. This is book 7 of the Single Dad’s of Seattle series but each could be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed this read by this author. Mason and Lowenna were so good and cute together. I can’t wait to read the others in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
As soon as I turn the last page on a Single Dads in Settle book I just want to start the next one!
'Valentine's with the Single Dad' is no different I loved Mason and Lowenna's story from the beginning to the end this book kept pulling me in to their story, every page made me want to know more about them, every page gave me faith that love can overcome revenge. As Mason says 'Don't let them rule your future because they tormented your past'.
Lowenna hasn't had an easy few years - in fact when they say bad things generally come in threes they won't wrong with Lowenna, overcoming cancer, husbanding leaving her for her sister, ex husband and sister now getting married and what makes it worse they not only want her to attend the wedding but make the chocolate favours and give a speech! But Lowenna has a plan she will take a handsome man to the wedding one who can dance and show all her family she is fine - but first she has to find this hero you only find in a book! Well she does in Mason - Mason the single dad a bit different from the rest of the dads in the series as Mason chose to be a dad by going down the surrogate route and now is the proud father of baby Willow Olivia Whitfield (WOW) love how Mason played on initials and when you read the book your understand why!
As the wedding draws closer what started as a business transaction starts to turn in something more but both are hiding a secret from each other that could effect them both.
Will Lowenna get her happy ever after all will her turn out happiness pass her by!

Lowenna Chambers needs to find a date for her sister's wedding. But this date needs to be a fake boyfriend, one that will make her sister jealous and her family instantly fall in love with because there is no better way to get back at the sister who is marrying your ex-husband. Mason fits the bill and agrees to the farce. When sparks fly and emotions get involved he hopes he has found his HEA, but when revenge comes into play will he walk away? Or will his true intentions of love and respect win out over getting the best of her sister? This story had so many layers and with each chapter I fell more in love with Mason. This is so much more than a fake relationship. I absolutely love this entire series as each book gets better and better.
And here we go again. Another book. Another dream. Another great way to spend my weekend. Is there a better way than have a great book to read and the fireplace lighten up? No there is not… Whitley Cox knows what she’s doing. Her books tell us great stories, about real people and their real problems. Each book made me see things and feel like others didn’t… Her writing is sweet and beautiful, spicy and hot. It’s marvelous. Valentine with the single Dad is her latest release and it’s the seventh book from The Single Dads of Seattle series. A series that you can’t miss. This new book explores the lives of Mason and Lowenna. Mason is the owner of a sports bar. He is a well successful man that loved his job and his daughter. Every day a mystery woman would appear at his bar and… Lowenna wanted to hire a date. Yep. You read it right, she wanted to hire a date to go on a date. Confusing and crazy right? Nope. Not at all. Lol. She needed it. You see, her sister was getting married. No biggie right? Wrong. She was getting married to her ex-husband… You heard it. Who does that? So she needed a unicorn to take with her… OMG… My heart is so full right now… It was so freaking perfect that I didn’t want it to end. Perfect plot, very well written, super engaging and sweet. These two were made for each other. They completed each others flaws. Each chapter was so appealing that I couldn’t put it down. I wanted to keep reading non-stop and was super mad when I needed to put the book down. It was one perfect scene after another and… Guys… Hot scenes alert. Datum… Hot hot hot. This book gave us love, loyalty, desire, determination as well as suffering, betrayal and drama. It was perfect to read and made me smile and laugh so freaking hard… This book made me rethink a few things. Made me think that sometimes we need to be the better person and don’t let others put us down. It made me realize that life is way to short to be picky or angry. Whitley Cox… Oh girl… You nailed it once again. You made me become even more in love that I already was for your writing. I can’t wait for the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I have not read the other books in this series so I can honestly say you don't have to. But I will be reading them, just because I hate not reading a full series.
Valentine's with the Single Dad is a story about Mason and Lowenna and how they fall in love. Lowenna needs a fake boyfriend for her ex-husband's wedding. When Mason goes to Lowenna to find out why she is interviewing so many men in his bar he is surprised to find out why she is talking to all of these men. So Mason decided to be her plus one.
What a wonderful story! Lowenna is a sweet and sassy character that I loved reading. And Mason is the hero you want to read.
5 star review Valentine’s With The Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #7) by Whitley Cox
This fast became one of my favourite series last year and I eagerly awaited Mason Whitfield’s story. I have been intrigued since he first made an appearance in the series and I knew that the woman who would come in to his life would need to be someone special and Lowenna Chambers is certainly that.
Surviving cancer and then betrayal by her ex husband and Sister, Lowenna has opened a chocolate shop in Seattle. She is shocked when they ask her to make a speech and design a centrepiece for their wedding and I admit I wanted to hit them. All she needs is a date to the wedding to show them all that she has moved on and that’s when the fun begins.
When Mason and Lowenna agree to a business arrangement you just know that complications are bound to arise. Every time I read a new book I fall more and more for all the dads in The Single Dads of Seattle series.
Badly burnt by her ex husband’s lies and betrayal Lowenna has no intention of opening herself up to love again. Is Mason the man who can break through the walls she has built and get her to take a chance on love or is Lowenna destined to be alone forever?
The chemistry between Mason and Lowenna smoulders and their attraction sizzles. There were times when I laughed and times where I wanted to cry.
One of the things I love with this series is that we often see other members of the club pop up throughout the story; the camaraderie and friendships amongst the men and the women they fall in love with is something that I adore and to me adds that additional layer that I truly appreciate.
Valentine’s with the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #7) By Whitley Cox
So I have been waiting for Mason’s story. Any man who has looked and looked and never found the right person, then takes the norm, makes it fit his wants and needs and is so proud of being a single dad, is the kind of man I’d like to meet!
Mason has changed his rat race, only for the money work life, given it all up travelled and made life changes to become a single father, well wow! Impressive. What he wants is a woman who loves him and little Willow for who they are. He’s had his eye on a lady whose been frequenting his sports bar, now he has to step up and go introduce himself.
Lowenna has not had the best of lives, she had health issues when she was born, her parents treated her with kid gloves, her twin sister hated her because she got all the attention and her husband divorced her while she was going through cancer treatment. She is so deserving of a man like Mason. She has recently opened a new business and now she is looking for a five star man to pretend to be her boyfriend at her sisters upcoming wedding…oh and her sister is marrying Lowenna’s ex-husband. This can only make for the best of stories!
I’d like to say I was team Mason and Loweena but there came a point where I had to side with Mason when she planned to do something at the wedding. She knew Mason’s history, she knew why he would try to find good in everyone and yet she was willing to push him away.
Manson and Willow can make a wonderful couple and be that cute family you see in the park, let’s hope that Mason can make her see how special she is just being herself.
I fear there aren’t to many single dads’ left and I will be done with these wonderful dads to soon for my liking.
What a story for Mason and not what I expected! When we were first introduced to Mason in previous books I was definitely intrigued by his character, especially with him being a single dad because he wanted to. He meets Lowenna while she is interviewing people at his business, and interested as to why, he strikes a conversation up with her and it leads to him volunteering to be her date to her sister and ex-husband’s wedding, which happened to be happening on her birthday! A cancer survivor and reeling from the betrayal of her ex-husband and sister, Lowenna is looking for revenge and sticking up for herself rather than her usual passive behavior. But as she gets to know Mason and ultimately begins a relationship with him, those views and choices change, but almost not soon enough. I really loved this book in particular from this series (although I love the series as a whole) because both characters were very interesting and different than the typical characters in these types of books. I can’t wait for the next installment – this series is epic! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Being deceived by those Lowenna thought she could trust was painful enough but the fact that it occurred when she needed them the most was devasting. She can’t believe that they would have the gall to not only ask her to prepare chocolate for her sister and her ex’s wedding but to speak as well is just icing on the cake. She has a plan to find the perfect pretend boyfriend and now she just has to find him.
Mason is a sexy single father and a successful business owner, talk about swoon. As he watches Lowenna meet with different men at the bar he owns he is intrigued but when he finds out she is looking for a pretend boyfriend he is quick to volunteer.
This story has the perfect combination of heat, humor and heart and meeting up with the other characters we know and love from this series only makes it that much more fun.
I thought that this was an absolutely amazing book. I found it almost too easy to fall for Lowenna and Mason as they meet and fall in love. This book has a entertaining story line that keeps you engaged and inspires some pretty intense feelings in the reader. My heart just ached for Lowenna. There is plenty of emotional, heat filled and dramatic moments as this couple's story unfolds but also some very poignant, sweet and cute ones. I thought that there was something so special about this couple and I adored their romance. This is my independent, impartial review.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be the last. Mason is a single dad hired to be Loweena’s fake boyfriend to go to her sister and her ex-husband’s wedding. You heard me right- her sister is marrying Loweena’s ex-husband. Mason and Loweena have this instant connection but every time Mason thinks he is getting somewhere with Loweena she retreats. This love sneaks up on you and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Little Willow makes me want to have another baby.
Mason Whitfield was in the rat race and finally had enough and left it to find his inner peace now he is back in Seattle, owns a bar and live for experiences and not for the all mighty dollar.
Lowenna Chambers beat cancer but as she was her husband cheated on her with her very own sister and now she is being invited to the wedding. Needing a kick ass fake boyfriend, she hasn't been to happy with the men she has been interviewing, that is until Mason starts chatting with her.
As these two work to become the perfect couple, they grow closer and what she sees as fake he sees as a chance to make real. At the wedding though he learns of her secret plans to right the wrongs of the past and that goes against all he is. His live in the now and the future not the past.
Will She be able to move forward? Will he be able to forgive her if she doesnt? I really liked this one, after 2 duds [for me] in the series.
Another fabulous book in this great series. Loving these single dads and the women they fall for and Mason's story might be my favorite. Lowenna and Mason's story is full of twists and turns with a unique storyline and wonderful characters. A great addition to the series.
This was my first introduction to the Single Dads of Seattle, this is book 7 of the collection.
Having not read the other 6 books I was pleased it had me hooked straight away, and despite not having read the previous 6, it did not affect my enjoyment of the story, enough information was given of the other single dads, that this could be read as a standalone story.
I loved Mason and Lowenna and the journey they took me on, Lowenna's character is very relatable, you learn straight away that Lowenna has been treated in the worst possible way by her sister and ex husband whilst undergoing cancer treatment.
Following an invite to her sisters wedding, Lowenna hatches a plan, she just needs a fake boyfriend that ticks all her boxes - i think anyone could channel their own wicked sister and i was totally onboard with her revenge plot.
The story begins with Lowenna interviewing candidates from her boyfriend for hire ad to assist in her revenge plot, she meets them in Masons Sports Bar, after many failed evenings interviewing, Lowenna gets chatting to Mason the bartender and owner - Mason is the stories single dad and is Dad to baby Willow.
Lowenna doesn't know that Mason has had his eyes set on her from her first visit, over some shared nachos, Lowenna reveals she needs a fake boyfriend to take to her sisters wedding, Mason see's an opportunity to get to know the mystery girl who has had him intrigued for weeks, after persuading Lowenna to reveal her tick list she realises what shes looking for is right in front of her it takes a kiss to seal the deal and she has her fake boyfriend.
It's not often a book has me outwardly laughing as well as internally screaming noooooo, I love a book that I can immerse myself into the characters and this book gave that perfect book escapism, the chemistry between Mason and Lowenna was hot as hell - I couldn't put it down, having now been introduced to the other single dads within this story I'm going to have to start from book 1, as the other single dads have me intrigued.
Valentine’s with the Single Dad is book 7 in The Single Dads of Seattle and I have to say this series is fast becoming one of my favourite reads of the last year, it’s a series I will never tire off and it’s a series I don’t want to end..... Mason Whitfield has made a fair few changes in his life but life couldn’t be better, he is back in Seattle running his own bar and his dream of being a father has finally come true, the last thing he is looking for is love...... Lowenna has opened up a chocolate shop in Seattle in the bid to start her life over, she is doing what she loves best making amazing chocolates for her shop and events. As survivor of cancer she is strong but her breaking point was when her sister and ex husband betrayed her and now they expect her to make the chocolate favours for their wedding ...... Lowenna needs a plus one for the wedding and she gets Mason to agree to be her fake boyfriend for the night but will one night be enough..... The attraction is instant and the chemistry is sizzling for a couple not looking for love but love often happens when we least expect it. This book has it all, it’s emotional, it’s realistic, it has characters I loved, I smiled and I shed a tear as I joined this couple on their journey to HEA. This wasn’t an easy road to happiness but this author writes from her heart and I felt so close to Mason and Lowenna and let’s not forget the rest of the gang of single dads of Seattle and their partners as always they have a part to play in this beautifully written romance. I highly recommend this book as well as the rest of the series, one click now you won’t be disappointed.
Welcome back readers to another heart-throbbing romance by the lovely Ms. Cox. We are welcome backed to the land of Singled Dad's; and this one is a Valentines keepsake you will be pulling back out every year.
Mason is a bartender, a wealthy, handsome bartender, and also a new father. A father by choice to the cutest little baby named Willow.
After weeks of watching the woman in his bar, he finally asks her what the hell she is doing with the many guys he has seen her "interviewing". Her answer is one he was not expecting, but one he will happy to fill in for.
Lowenna is the owner of Wicked Sister Bakery and in need of a date. Yes a date, a date to her sisters wedding. A wedding to her ex-husband. Yes, you read that correctly, HER ex-husband. Lowenna needs a show stopping date to take to her sisters wedding to show them all that she is O.K, that she is better without the loser or the drama they have caused.
Now without getting into the juicy details (because there are oh so many) Mason and Loween embark on a soul searching, life changing experience that each of them need. One learning to let go and move on, and another the teacher of living life to it's fullest. Through love and hate, through family drama and new found connections, these two scorch the pages and bring new meaning to "Let it Go".
I loved this story so much, I loved the nity-grity of Loweena's battle, I loved the happy-ever-after, I loved Willow and all her baby goodness. The struggle these two faced felt so real, so powerful, the emotions in it are some that everyone can relate too.
Jump into this amazing story and be prepared to loose your heart to the Single Dad's of Seattle!!
A cancer survivor, Lowenna Chambers had to go through that battle only to have her husband leave her – for her sister! The double betrayal would have knocked most people right to the ground. But Lowenna instead opens a chocolate shop in Seattle and is determined to move her life forward. She was not expecting her ex-husband and sister to not only invite her to their wedding, but to ask her to give a speech and create a centerpiece for them! Can people really be that insensitive and cruel??? But Lowenna agrees and, in an attempt to show them she had really moved on with her life, she begins to interview men to find the perfect date and prove she is doing just fine.
After the betrayal Lowenna endured with her ex-husband, she is not interested in falling in love. But when Mason watches her come to his bar night after night to interview men, his curiosity is aroused. She realizes that Mason fits her list of desirable traits for her perfect man. So he and Lowenna agree to a business arrangement where he will be her fake date for the wedding. Can Mason make her want to open her heart again to love and family? Will they both want this second chance? Or will Lowenna insist on remaining alone?
This was an enjoyable book with an intriguing story line and memorable characters. I was outraged on Lowenna’s behalf that, when she needed support and love the most, those closest to her betrayed her! And then had the nerve to try to hurt and embarrass her further! Meeting Mason was the best thing to happen to her. Does she realize that as well? Her best subtle revenge would be to find love and happiness and a beautiful future -- if she can only let go of the fear.
Mason is a dream daddy. He has his beautiful baby girl that he used his best friends as surrogate mom. He left a big Fortune 500 company to move here and own his own bar. Said he was tired of all the hate and only wants peace and love for himself and his daughter.
Then he sees a beautiful woman who has been coming to the bar for a couple of weeks on Tuesday and Thursday nights looking like she's either speed dating or interviewing men. He's so curious that he finally goes up and talks to her.
Lowenna has been through it all. She is a cancer survivor who at the lowest time in her life, found out her oldest sister was having an affair with her husband. Now divorced, she was just sent the invitation to her sister and ex-husband's wedding. So now she has to find the perfect date to this wedding.
When Mason hears her story he volunteers to be her date. He wants to show her what a good man's love can really be like. So they make plans to work together to show her sister and ex-husband up.
Lowenna's sister is a total bridezilla. Forcing Lowenna to make her chocolate confections as gifts for all her guests as well as other chocolate centerpieces. Lowenna has a wonderful chocolate store in Seattle and is just making a good name for herself.
But Lowenna is easily falling for Mason and his baby girl. Unfortunately her cancer made it so she can never have kids. The one thing she has always dreamed of having.
Can Mason help her through all of this. Can he show her that he's the love of her life? We'll see! Loved this story. Once again, the Single Dads Club comes through. Great group of guys! Enjoy
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc
Mason worked at a high powered job until the day he quit now he is working as a bartender at the bar he owns. Lowenna was a chocolatier and a good businesswomen. Mason had noticed her as she sat at the bar interviewing men. Finally one night when the bar was getting in a closing mode so he went over and talk to her. Mason comes to find out that her ex husband was marrying her sister and she needed a date for her wedding. Mason volunteer because he wanted to get to know her better. He also sees how much her sister is using her and Lowenna just lets it happen. Mason and Lowenna start seeing each other because they need to get so things done for the wedding like learning how to dance together. Mason finds out information from his buddies who also belong to Single Dad of Seattle Group. Lowenna ex husband works for one of the guys law firm and they didn’t like him at all. Lowenna plans her revenge on her ex and sister. Lowenna was undergoing Chemo for her cancer and her ex was sleeping with her sister. Lowenna found out once she had overcome the cancer after they took everything out and she couldn’t have children. Her husband leaves her because he wanted to be able to have children. Then her ex announces that he seeing her sister and it was serious. Twists, turns, betrayal, and redemption. This is not the usually romance story lots of plot twists. Excellent Characters and fabulous storyline
Mason decided a year ago that he wasn't getting younger and he never found the one woman that he wanted to start a family with, so he got his friend to donate an egg and his other friend to carry his baby. Now, he has a sweet little baby girl, owns a bar and is part of the single dad's of Seattle. Mason loves working at his bar and he especially loves seeing the same woman come into his bar every Tuesday and Thursday. She always meets with different guys and his curiosity has gotten the best of him, so he decided to converse with her and figure out why she is meeting all these guys. This is where the whole story starts.
Lowenna has truly been dealt some really crappy situations from her health, family and a horrible husband. The bottom line is that she needs a date to her sister's wedding......which, by the way, is planned on Lowenna's birthday and her sister is marrying Lowenna's ex husband! Mason offers to be her date and these two grow closer as the get go know each other while preparing for this wedding. There are many ups and downs that happen while leading up to this horrible wedding. The one positive is that Mason and Lowenna figure out how to be together and even though they started out as a fake relationship, true feelings develops and a HEA happens.
This book can be read as a standalone, but you will enjoy it even more if you read the whole series. We do get to catch up with the whole gang, the Seattle single dad's and the girls too. I love the series and I am excited for the next book.
Who's the gorgeous gal with the line up of men coming to her table twice a week? Owning an upscale bar, Mason has seen plenty. Maybe if she didn't draw him in so much he wouldn't have been so curious. None of them were better looking, better built, or probably had more money and business success than he does. Yet, she'd never hit on him or even flirted.
Lowenna couldn't believe the position her sister had put her in. Sure they had pretty much a hate/hate relationship even though she had no reason. Lowenna hadn't slept with her sister's husband while she was recovering from cancer. The woman was now marrying her ex-husband. Lowenna had to find a drop-dead man to show up with as her "guy" at the wedding. So...the interviews. They weren't going well.
Until--Mason just had to know what was going on and started a conversation that led to so much more.
Like most women, nothing is sexier, sweeter, or hotter than a big sexy guy holding a sweet little baby. Not only was Mason holding little Willow, but she was also his. No cumbersome woman in the wings. A surrogate gifted him with the most precious little girl.
He fit the bill and so begins the story. It's filled with sexual tension, sweet moments, steam, surprises galore and a wonderful story. I loved it and found it is book seven of the Single Dads Club of Seattle. A whole slew of books to read. This was was complete but meeting the other guys and couples was a treat. There are some great scenes (look for the Rage Room)
This one has my strongest recommendation. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
Wow! How much do I love Mason? Soooo much! He is amazing, sweet, loving, sexy, a single dad with the cutest baby and all he wants in life is a family to call his own, and when the opportunity arises to get to know the lovely lady that’s been gracing his bar, he takes it. Lowenna is her name and she’s sweet, loving, kind and all she wants is a little peace and looking at Mason is pretty easy in the eyes too, his smile is panty melting hot! Her life hasn’t been easy and her sister has bullied her her whole life and now she’s catering all the sweets at her sister’s wedding. That’s a whole other story. When Mason steps in to help her out, he never thought anything would come of the time they are spending together, he hoped, but wasn’t sure if it was all business or if it could be something more.
Mason is keeping a tiny little secret from her and hoping that when he shares it, it won’t deter all the progress these two have made. Feelings are there and everything feels so right between them, but the secret he’s keeping could change their lives and the fact he’s shared it with a couple people it’s bound to come out before he has a chance to explain, but more than that, can she let go of the hurt, anger and revenge she feels towards her sister and her ex? Will she chose love or will she let the best thing to ever happen to her walk away? No spoilers just enough to suck you in, loved these two, they are sweet, sexy, flirty and explosive. This series is amazing and a must read! I received a copy of this book.
Ever since our introduction to these guys in book one I’ve been waiting for Mason’s story. I know that this author is anything but predictable so I cleared my afternoon and knew I was in for an excellent read. There’s always a realistic meeting of this author’s characters. A believability whereas someone authors feel that H/h’s have to meet under some of the most absurd situations I’m incredulous. I particularly associated with this book because I am also a 3x cancer survivor having had a third reoccurrence January 2018 so I still have some time to go get to my five year mark for this last diagnosis. While I am extraordinarily lucky in the husband department Ms. Cox was spot on on the toll it takes and how easily a cancer diagnosis can end a marriage especially with a weak partner. I wish I was as kind as some other reviewers on how Lo took the high road where her sister and ex were concerned, I just wish there was maybe a line or two that had Lo kicking her ex in his twig and berries and maybe spilling some red wine in her sister’s dress. But she was a true heroine and survivor and in the grand scheme of things she had Mason....that might’ve been the best revenge of all. Just a note to Ms. Cox...this is a really good series but I miss your well developed darker side..I have reread all of your first books and when you go dark you shine.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
WOW!! This is my favourite book I've read this year I loved it. Lowenna's story was so emotional having recovered from the big C taking away her chance of carrying her own baby but also finding out that her husband Brody (now very ex-husband) was having an affair with her sister Doneen whilst she was ill, but as if that wasn't enough now they are getting married expecting Lowenna to make a centerpiece & favours for their wedding rubbing her nose in it. Doneen was jealous of her saying that she got cancer on purpose & no sympathy so she wants to take a hot, rich, clever man as her plus one. She interviews prospective dates at a bar but nobody is suitable until she starts talking to Mason the hot barman one night who after explaining to him why she has been coming into the bar he offers to be her date she accepts but tells him she will be paying he doesn't want her money as he has fancied her over the months she has been coming into the bar. Over the weeks he introduces her to his friends & they all become friends with her aswell but also her feelings for Mason are changing & she has also fallen in love with his daughter Willow. She wants revenge for what they have done to her one way is taking Mason with her but she wants more but her need for revenge could also lose any chance of a future with Mason & Willow. There are a lot of twists, drama & emotions in this that meant I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next book.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, pain, betrayal, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Hired by the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #1) Dancing with the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #2) Saved by the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #3) Living with the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #4) Christmas with the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle Book 5) New Year's with the Single Dad (The Single Dads of Seattle #6)
This is Lowenna and Mason’s story. Mason has seen Lowenna in the bar for a while and is wondering what she is up to. When she explains he decides he can help her out? Just business even though there is chemistry there. She survived cancer only to be betrayed by not only her ex but her sister when they got together now she needs a date to the wedding and that is where Mason is coming in. She is over love after all she has been through but will believing that push the one man away that might have been the right one for her along? Can Mason get her to see not all men are bad and love can be sweet and forever no matter what?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
The relationship that grows between Mason and Lo is beautiful and I love them together. He is a loving father and she falls for father and daughter. Mason reluctantly agrees to be a for hire date when he wants to date her for real. He is frustrated by her bringing up the money and "business" part of their deal. neither can deny the incredible chemistry between them though. It was great to see her meet and become friends with the other women too. she needed some real friends.
OK...SPOILERS.....
I HATE HER SISTER AND EX HUSBAND!!!! it pissed the hell out of me when Mason stopped her from doing something as fairly harmless as the itching powder. She deserved to get some revenge. She should NEVER have lifted one finger for that bitch's wedding! Made me sooooo MAD. While I reluctantly agree that she was better not to stand up in front of everyone at the reception and call them out, I still would have cheered. She should never have gone in the first place. And when she actually hugged that bitch, I almost puked on my kindle. NO, just NO, Never! I think Mason should have supported her no matter what she chose to do. END SPOILERS.
I am very happy with the ending, I love their HEA and all their little WOW's ! looking forward to the next book!
I probably repeat this statement every time I read another book in this series but this would have to be my favourite book in the series. What can I say this is the seventh book in the Single Dads of Seattle series and the stories just keep getting better and the Single Dads just keep making my heart beat faster and faster. A gorgeous guy holding a baby "swoon" and this is what Mason does from the start of this book right to the very end. Lowenna is a woman who has been through the toughest times of her life and just when life should be finally coming up roses, the knocks start coming again. In a chain of events that puts her in the path of Mason and has these two in a transaction that Lowenna is trying to keep business like, hearts will be on the line and there might not be enough chocolate on Valentine's Day to bring a smile to anyone's face. A story that is heartfelt, passionate and altogether enchanting however it might just not be enough when revenge trumps love. Their journey may not be all flowers, chocolates, dancing and candlelight dinners but what it is, is sincere, genuine and full of so much heart and soul that these two will forever hold a special place with you.
This series has never failed to captivate me, and it seems like each new story is better than the last, which is crazy to me since I LOVE them all so much! I've been ready for ALL the Dad's stories, so I'm excited for each new one, and this one is Mason Whitfield's story. Lowenna Chambers is the special lady it takes to bring this dad to his knees, and man, I absolutely LOVED her. She's had a time of it, as her husband & sister betrayed her, after surviving cancer. I mean COME ON! Why would all of that happen to this amazing lady?! She opens a chocolate shop in Seattle, but when that ex douchebag & shady sister asks her to make a centerpiece at their wedding, she's not just shocked, but a bit upset. They even go as far as to ask her to make a speech. Lowenna knows that she needs to bring a date, so no one suspects that she's upset, which is when the fun begins with Mason. They agree upon a business arrangement, but you already know that it won't be that simple whatsoever. Neither want another relationship, as betrayal has marked them but Mason is bit further on in the healing. Not to mention, fate has other plans in store for them, so how long with it take Mason to get past her walls?! You'll have to one click to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Mason wanted something different in his life so he started making some changes starting with his job. Then after doing some travel he decides he wants to be a father so he asks a friend to be a surrogate for him and gets little Willow. Lowenna has been looking for a man to pay to be her date for her sister's wedding but he has to be perfect and so far she hasn't found the one. She's at a bar doing the interviews when the bartender invites her up to the bar for a drink a nachos. Its during their talk that he learns that as she battled cancer her sister slept with her husband and then just as she is recovering he leaves her for her sister. And its that wedding she is needing a date for. What she doesn't know is that Mason has been intrigued by her since he first saw her in the bar. He agrees to be her date and soon things go from being fake to real between them. But will Lowenna's need for revenge cause her second chance at love? Can Mason show her that its better to move on?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
