A madman is trying to kill off mother earth.

Earth Elemental Gia has been poisoned, and the only man who can heal her is the scion of the most evil witch family in history, Salvador. If she fails to trust him—or if putting her trust in him fails her—Mother Earth will die.

After a madman ingratiated himself to the Water Elementals, only to later betray them, Gia’s trust is shaken. But the same misogynist man who infected her with poison threatens to infect Mother Earth as well—an act that could change life on earth irrevocably…or end it forever.

A dangerous journey to the Mother is only half the battle. The real challenge comes in the form of what Gia must agree to once she arrives: wipe out the human race she’s spent her whole life protecting…or wipe out the supernatural race she belongs to herself.

What a fun way to end the series!

The last book in a series always seem to be more sentimental for me. I've really enjoyed this series. It was fun, creative and clean enough that a younger audience can enjoy as well. It also highlighted four strong women who save the world. You can't get better than that...except it did. The ending hints at a possible spinoff, and one I would love to see happen.

The grand finale to The Elementals was.... well, not grand. Un-grand? Less grand? Way less grand than my expectations.

This book had nothing that I was waiting for and all the unnecessary things that basically set a background for other books..... I think. It was a lot of extraneous scenes with no character development whatsoever, no romance, no satisfactory ending or an epilogue!

I can't think of a single personality aspect of Gia! One single characteristic! A secondary character would have more personality than Gia. Even her superpowers are glossed over! We don't know exactly what she can do, how she can do what she did, why she has new weird powers, what her new weird powers are or her limitation. She is just an obligatory character in this book, instead of being the protagonist. And this is nothing to say about Salvador. He is a healer who is selfless! That's it.

The romance is so lacking, that they don't even kiss or exchange 'I Love You's through out the book. There is no getting to know each other, their attractions is barely alluded and Gia takes him as a mate only because 'Mother' gave him to her. It was a huge disappointment.

The plot is also whacky, at best. There are so many things, either left unexplained or illogical. The basis of the entire plot is very shaky. Let's start with why Gia ended up Shoel. There was simply no reason for what happened. There is some vague explanation about spell trap, but who did that. If it was John, did he expect Gia to live? Then, why send Salvador after her, especially when they emphasis on how much they don't trust him. There are so many magic practitioners introduced, why not send one of them? And how did he get into Shoel, when they couldn't leave? Next, why use Ciro's staff to go find the Mother? What purpose would that serve? It has been clearly mentioned that the Elementals could communicate with her whenever they wanted. Even if she doesn't answer, why go find her? The entire purpose was to prevent John from finding and poisoning her, why would they start looking for her? A lot of the plot points didn't make much sense.

The other problem was the villain. The villain was... pathetic! Honestly, I might have had better respect for him if I had not read his POV. There were 3-4 scenes (chapters, really) about him that had less purpose than sh*t glitter (it exists, I swear!). First, he plans to poison the Mother without having any actual method to actually do so. Then he changes his plan to poison other super-naturals, because why not? Only, for a genius that has managed to find a way to kill all of them, he plans this so poorly that his entire poison stash is destroyed. So for finale, he decides to go after Gia and gives her an engraved invitation (literally) to the battle. Why not? Second time's the charm. So, for the climax, his army (that no one know where it came from; remember he was on island for 30 years without a phone) faces the elementals and the (numerous) wolves, where he gently goes into the night without giving us a reason for doing all this. Yup, pathetic!

My final problem was the multiple point of views and the many tangents that had no bearing on the story whatsoever. Take the brother-sister wolves or the child vampire, for example. Then, there is Loki that was mentioned in previous book that has ended up in fae dungeons. Instead of a resolution to that situation, he is simply forgotten. Or like Rhys(?)- the dragon. And what is up with all the secrecy surrounding Salvador's mother's pregnancy. This book is after all about Gia and Salvador. I was expecting that mystery to be resolved, not become a cliff hanger in the final book of the series. Even the epilogue (that is not at all about Gia and Salvador) is a kind of a cliffhanger.

Basically, this was a highly unsatisfactory ending to a series that I liked. I wish it had a better thought out plot that was not so undecided about it's main plot-line (Mother's abandonment or John's pathetic villainy). It could have been a lot better. I was expecting it to be a lot better!

I have to admit that this was a bit of a disappointment after the other three. I appreciated that it was clean (except for a few choice words), there was no OP drama, the H was a really great guy, and we got to visit with the couples of the previous books. However, I'm not sure what it was, but the pace was really slow and the whole book just dragged. I also don't like books that feature demons/hell, and while that theme isn't very prominent, it does take up the first quarter or so of the book.

Overall, the epilogue was probably the most interesting part of this story.

Speechless. Absolutely, utterly, and completely speechless. No part of this story was anything like I was expecting, particularly the outcomes. The action. The drama. The angst. They pulled me through the book. I could not flip pages fast enough to learn what came next. But, I was a little disappointed in the chemistry between Gia and Salvador. I loved their snarky banter. Adored every single jab and comeback. It kept me snickering through most of the book. I just wasn’t feeling the romance between them. And, I’m dying over that ending. The book answers most of the questions brought up during the course of the series, but it also poses a bunch of new ones. Ones I would kill to get my hands on the answers to. It probably goes without saying I need to know what the author’s bringing us next.

This book had several facets that I dislike. The story was disjointed, and more about the group than the main characters. The storyline was all over the place and the main focus seem to be on introducing the authors other characters and series rather than focusing on the series in play. If that wasn't enough, it's also badly edited, with lots of missing words and some random 'word of the day' tossed in for good measure. Clearly the author wanted to do anything but write this book.
The only thing that saved it from 1 star from me, was talent.

Dang it the last of the elemental's story is here and while we should be jumping for joy at reading the Gia's story unfortunately that isn't the case, well not totally. The hard part about this review is I truly enjoyed the story and couldn't turn the pages fast enough (I do love this author and her style), however. . . yeah there is a but. Yup I admit it I looked at another review before posting this to know if I was the only one torn. While I did laugh and enjoyed the back and forth between the characters there is so much going on with out clear and finished details from the other books that kind of got left and forgotten.

The characters Gia and Sal, well even though I enjoy a clean read there is very little mentioned prior to them becoming mates about more than a heated gaze. We still don't get the full info on Gia or mush on Sal so it's really hard to be invested in their story. After reading the other stories this felt more like an introduction to a new series than the resolution of a series.

Don't get me wrong it's not a bad story just not what i expect not only from this author but also from the series. With that being said keep in mind this is the opinion of me and me alone. It also isn't something that will stop me from grabbing the next book this author puts out. Also it wont stop you from laughing and enjoying a good action filled read. I just needed and expected more which could be the reason for my disappointment.

Fun magical adventure! I’d recommend reading the previous books to get the full impact of this story. This one features all 4 of the Elementals as they try to find the bad guy. It’s great getting to read more from each of the Elementals and their mates.

This story starts with Gia, the Earth Elemental, poisoned. The other Elementals have brought her to witch, Salvador, in hopes of healing her. Fun adventures in Hell and deadly mazes add to the problems for Gia and Salvador. Also, the bad guy is out to poison the head honcho, Mother, so all the Elementals and their mates set out in search of clues and such for his whereabouts to stop him before that happens. Danger is afoot!

Loved Gia’s powers! Some super cool stuff! Traveling underground, metal manipulation, and sucking people into the ground to name just a few. Gia kicks butt! The connection between Gia and Salvador was nice, but Salvador is a bit too soft for my liking, but he’s a nice guy. Didn’t quite feel the romance with them; more like companions. Luckily, the unique ideas for this series and the magical adventures the characters find themselves in make for an entertaining read.

It seems like there may be some spin offs, so I hope we get to see more of the Elementals, and what in the heck those dragon shifters got going on. And of course, those wolf shifters! Looking forward to checking those stories out. This has been a totally fun and interesting series! Enjoyed it!

This book was good but i didn't love it. I really like the writing and really enjoyed the first part of the book. At around the half mark though i don't know what happened. The romance of the story was totally glossed over. I totally missed when they aknowledged their attraction. We went from the hero fearing for his life due to his family name, to crushing on her and suddenly they are mates and loving each other? It was disappointing. I felt like there was a chapter missing. The final battle and epilogue were satisfying however. It's just the middle that bothers me. There are also a lot of open threads left tangling. I mean i would love for the story to continue in other books (if that's where its headed) but it shouldn't take away from the book feeling complete. This had the potential to be my favorite in the series but sadly it didn't live up to my expectations. Fire is still my favorite.

Killing an Elemental is not easy, let alone finding Mother Earth. That learned the enemy while using different and paranormal means to carry out his crime. Gia was the oldest of the Elementals and the one who best understood what was happening, or so she thought because, she did not understand how Salvador fit into her life. But as they say out there, united we will win, and the witch showed her that he was for her and she for him. Action, suspense, adventure, some funny scenes, an evil man who was half crazy, a fierce battle with an intense suspense and surprises that suggest a new generation with more intriguing situations. I liked the character of Salvador, level-headed, smart and self-confidence. Gia was cautious, not for nothing was she the one who had lived the longest and experienced the most losses. A good story with an intriguing plot development, Diana, Logan and Serin had interesting situations that added to the suspense and most of all it left me avid for more.

Satisfying end to series

Gia & Salvatore have a cool adventure bring Gia back to life as the book starts, and then the tension continues to build as *everyone* works to save the world from destruction.

We hop around a lot to keep track of all the good guys, and remember the stakes with the bad guy. We do get to spend time with the Elementals, their men, and more of everyone’s extended family.

There isn’t much time to build chemistry with Gia & Salvatore — she keeps him at arms length, and does need to focus on John & rallying the good guys.

This is more of an adventure than a romance, but I do like how there is the potential for a new series based on how the world has changed bat the end.

This book brings a conclusion to the series, while also leaving it open for more to come. I personally hope there is more to come. Especially after all the little surprises at the end, I can definitely see this going on and bringing lots of the same action and storytelling that I enjoyed throughout this series. This book belongs to Gia and Salvador, but everyone plays a part and the interactions, dialogue and character development was well done. I would definitely recommend reading this book, but suggest starting at the beginning. Otherwise you really might feel like you are missing something, and that would be because you are.

Nice wrap up to the series

I love that the author wrapped up this series in a great way, while playing foundation for a next gen series. The Elementals and their mates are fun to read. The only problem I saw was the first few chapters need some editing. There were a few grammatical issues but they seemed to end by about chapter 5 or do. Looking forwards to the next chapter in this saga.

This is the final book in the Elementals series. It wraps up the series beautifully and Gia gets a perfect counterpart in Sal. The story moved at a fast pace, the adventure and action was throughout, though I wish there was more romance. I wanted more of the HEA, more of the romance/passion between Gia and Sal. I understand why not- I’m just more of a romance than an adventure/action junkie.

Earth by L. B. Gilbert is book 4 and the final in the Elementals Series.

As much as I love this series and have found every single book in the series to be awesome in its own way, I did feel this one fell a bit short for me.

I loved the banter and I love most of story but parts felt a bit glossed over.

A bittersweet ending to the series.

Excellent series

Really enjoyed all of this series, great world building and the characters are very relatable and likeable.
Each book is a stand alone romance for the main characters but there is a continuous main plot that is wrapped up at the end of the fourth book.
Will definitely read more by this author.

Like book 3, in terms of story progression, this was well done. However, time is unclear. Years are mentioned between events but it's only been months. The epilogue was confusing as well.

Also like book 3, the romance is pretry much nonexistent. The characters are great and would no doubt be great together, but there is no story about their romance.

Just as absorbing and unputdownable as I thought it would be. Loved that all four elementals and their mates were featured. Did not expect what a The Mother did but it really moved the story along.

Now I really want to know more about Diana’s children.

Conclusion or not

A lot is revealed and learned in this book as the elementals and their mates fight evil around the globe. I enjoyed the fight scenes and family camaraderie. The ending gives them all a shock and leaves the reader wondering.

A great ending to a great series, although I am sad to see it end. This was a great addition to the series and I enjoyed watching how the earth elemental Gia handles her powers
