Mary’s kids, Ben and Cathy, are visiting Dune House, the majestic Bed and Breakfast by the sea, and Mary and Suzie could not be more excited. Mary is planning a fun-filled week catching up with them.
But her plans are turned upside down when a guest at Dune House turns up dead. Ben is a suspect and Suzie and Mary feel like they have no choice but to investigate the murder and try to clear his name. But things get even more complicated when the evidence indicates that Cathy’s new boyfriend, Rick, might be involved.
Is Rick there to meet Mary and spend time with Cathy or is it all an elaborate ruse? Is Mary wearing rose-colored glasses and Ben really was involved? Will Suzie and Mary find the murderer before there is another victim?
This started out so well for Mary and her kids, a nice visit and Susie insisting Mary take time off to spend with them. A diving lesson changes everything. Treasure and secrets, arguments and lies. I'm actually surprised Paul still leaves to go out on his boat coz every time he comes back to murder and mayhem and Susie usually smack bang in the middle of it. All the stunning scenery around them and a beautiful old house but I think I'd be worried staying there with the amount of dead bodies piling up all connected to it in some way. Curtis I feel was a dangerous diver though, he knew all the rules and was teaching others so he should have done final checks right before using anything. Lots of suspects in this one with false clues but I did guess right. Awesome plot.
I give this book 15 stars. Wow, this book had a whole lot of suspects. Suzie and Mary once again get into a mess even when Suzie's cousin Jason is on his honeymoon with Summer the town pathologist. Kirk finally got the respect and trust from the gang at the Dune House. He is a good trustworthy police officer. Treasure hunting, deception, lying, stealing and murder, what a combination. Which had the Dune House on lock down with suspects. Read this book you won't be disappointed.
This one takes a while to get going. For the first few chapters, we get to see some of the guests at Dune House while Mary’s college children visit. At the end of chapter 5, the dead body of an expert diver washes up. Was it an accident? Since it seemed the equipment was tampered with, they suspected murder.
Even though this had a slow start, the mystery still grabs you, making you want to find out what happened. Could the killer be staying at Dune House? Could Mary’s children actually be suspects in a murder?
Ben is back to visit his mom for a family reunion, but sees another body. He, also, has a secret that makes him look guilty. His sister’s boyfriend has secrets of his own. Mary and Susie need to solve the mystery of a treasure hunters murder before all the suspects leave Dune House. Charming and entertaining as usual!
This story was a little on the scary side! The two main characters are hosting several people for a few days filled with fun and sand. One of the older ladies is kidnapped and held hostage! This makes the time a little bit awkward at best. Will the police show up in time??
Well, I must admit it definitely took me quite a while to figure out my top suspect in this book. I did narrow it down to 2 and one was right but I absolutely love these books.
Another wonderful book in the series. There were a lot of suspects in this one, keeping you guessing throughout the book. I'm close to the end of the series. I definitely recommend this to anyone that likes cozy mysteries.
Mary’s son and daughter are coming for a visit. Cathy’s boyfriend comes alone to meet Mary. Then a guest is murdered and they’re all suspect. Now Mary and Susie must solve the case. Recommend series.
The gang is all here for fun and relaxing until someone is murdered. Will they make it out of this one alive and is the murderer in Dune house with them?
I enjoyed this story of adventure and suspense, the author has done a wonderful job of putting together a mystery and a little romance together. I loved it.
This one pushed a few of my continuity buttons. There were definitely some missequences with Ben and Cathy and it felt a little too pushy for suspects this time. Not quite as good.
Mary & Suzie renovated Dune House B & B, in Garber together. Mary inherited the house from an Uncle. Mary has 2 grown children, Cathy & Rick. They come out for a vacation. Cathy brings an unexpected boyfriend Rick. Curtis stays at the Dune House is murdered. He died while diving by himself. Mary's children, Rick & everyone there are suspects. Mary will do almost anything to protect her children, but will not lie. The investigation is going slow, so Mary & Suzie start their own investigation to see if they can find who murdered Curtis. There so much action & danger you need to read this book. There's renewed love & new love too. Enjoy reading it.
Another book where we discover there has been another death within Dune House, which is another murder of course. However, in this book we learn that Ben and Cathy have come to visit their Mom, Mary for a fun-filled week of activities which Mary has carefully planned. Only Cathy has brought over her new boyfriend, Rick, to introduce him to her Mom and Suzie. Upon investigating, it is believed that Ben has committed this murder which Mary is refusing to believe and is trying to find other pieces of evidence which eliminate Ben as a suspect. The more Suzie and Mary investigate, the evidence begins to point to Cathy's boyfriend Rick but Cathy does not want to believe this. It now begins to make us think whether Rick is there to really spend time with Cathy and her Mom or whether this was all an elaborate plan so that he was able to commit murder while continuing to "spend time" with Cathy and Mary? Could Ben have really been involved or have police pointed the finger at an innocent person? This really kept me hooked and made me want to continue reading as the suspense built up every chapter as more and more information regarding the case was brought into the book. Bell's writing gets better with each book she writes, in my honest opinion, and continues to keep me on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next within the book. I 100% recommend!
