Lila never expected to have a whirlwind romance with a Navy SEAL, and she certainly didn’t plan on falling in love. Something else she didn’t expect? Finding out she was pregnant not long after Preston Lawson deployed. Worse yet, when she tries to tell him he’s about to be a daddy, she’s informed that Preston was killed in action, leaving her alone and desperate. But after years of struggling to get by, she’s finally created a stable life for her and her son and plans to celebrate Christmas in a big way: by heading to the very lodge where she met Preston. The lodge is decorated perfectly for the Christmas spirit, and Lila is content—if not a little lonely. Until Preston, the I’m-supposed-to-be-dead Navy SEAL shows up out of the blue.
Preston never thought about settling down. His unit was his family. His life was the Navy. So three years ago, when a clerical mistake left him officially dead and he was offered the opportunity to use his new anonymity to participate in Black Op missions, he accepted. But when he’s given leave right before Christmas, he gives into nostalgia and heads to the lodge where he and Lila—the woman he’d fallen in love with—first met. He was hoping for some Christmas spirit, but he never expected to find Lila. Or learn that he has a son. Preston knows in that instant his life will be inalterably changed—for the better. But while he and Lila grow closer, it soon becomes clear that someone is trying to harm her, and Preston will do everything in his power to keep her safe. In the end, Preston will have to decide whether protecting Lila and their son safe means staying with them or leaving them behind.
This novel contains sexual content, violence and profanity.
It isn’t a big surprise Katie Knight ended up writing romances about the stellar, studdly men of the Navy SEALs; after all, she was a K-9 trainer for the SEALs and met her own Navy SEAL hero husband while preparing one of their K-9 partners for combat. A few years after their marriage, her and hubby decided to retire with their K-9 partner, Sam, to raise their children in the Midwest. It wasn’t long after that before Katie decided to write her own stories featuring the men of the SEAL teams and the women who love them.
When not imagining dangerously romantic scenarios for her heroes and their feisty heroines, Katie enjoys hikes with her husband and Sam, spending time with her children, and long runs (on and off the beach).

I absolutely loved this book. It was a nice holiday romantic suspense story and I have a soft spot for Navy SEAL romance novels. It was short but fast paced with a good amount of suspense and action. The characters were great, and the storyline was enjoyable.
Lila meets Preston when he’s on leave from the Navy. They were only together for a couple of months and Preston was getting ready to deploy again for another six months or more. He’s a SEAL and knew that he’d be gone more than he was home, so he and Lila agree to a no strings attached relationship so when he leaves, he cuts all ties to Lila.
A couple of months later Lila goes looking for him to let him know she’s pregnant only to be told that he died. She’s alone and pregnant but decides that she’s keeping the baby and goes about doing that the best she can. She doesn’t know that he’s not dead and that he’s using the mess up to look for the person who leaked secret info that got his buddy killed.
Several year later she runs in to him at the lodge where they first met. She learns that he’s alive and he learns he has a son. Preston wants his family, but can he walk away from the SEALs and the mission he’s been on for the last several years? To top it all off someone seems to be after Lila and her son. Can Lila and Preston decide what they want before it’s too late?

The Seal's Christmas Baby is overflowing with surprises. Some will keep you on the edge of your seat. Others will break you heart. Lila and Preston were a sensory overload. What began as a tempting love affair became a tempestuous case of survival. Will their love have them paying the ultimate price. Knight keeps hearts racing the whole way through.
The writing is fine within itself, but the story just didn't grab me. The blurb had too much information as well, as it pretty much gave away the entire plot. My thanks got to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in return for my opinion.
I enjoyed reading this story. The characters are well developed and engaging and plenty of chemistry from beginning to the end. Storyline flowed smoothly.

Preston and Lila meet at a mountain getaway and spend a few weeks together while Preston is on down time from the Seals. The chemistry between Preston and Lila is scorching hot. Preston doesn't want anything long term but makes a promise that he will contact Lila when he can to let her know that he is okay. A clerical error has Preston KIA during his last mission with his friend. Preston's CO convinces Preston to remain dead and go black ops to root out who betrayed his team but regrets not being able to see Lila again. Lila is shocked when she learns that she is pregnant and goes to the base to inform Preston but is denied access. The base clergyman is able to get information on Preston and tells Lila that Preston was KIA. Lila is devastated but knows she has to be strong for her and her baby. Three years later, Lila and her son, Parker, are visiting the same mountain getaway where Lila and Preston met. On leave and needing some R & R, Preston returns the mountain getaway where he spent time with Lila. Preston is surprised to see Lila and more surprised to learn he has a son. When strange things start to happen and danger seems to be lurking nearby, can Preston keep Lila and Preston safe? Can Preston find who is trying to harm Lila? Can Preston show Lila that she and Parker mean everything to him? Will Preston walk away and go back to being a dead man? Will Lila give her heart to Preston once again? I loved The Seal's Christmas Baby by Leslie North and Katie Knight! The Seal's Christmas Baby is a great story with amazing characters who give us drama, danger, family, love, and some sexy moments. I would definitely recommend getting The Seal's Christmas Baby by Leslie North and Katie Knight.

When a technical glitch lists Navy SEAL Preston Lawson as Killed in Action during his last deployment both he and the Navy decided to use that mistake to discover exactly who the traitor is that caused death and destruction to his unit by letting him go into Black Ops missions. While that may have been the right choice for him then, it was also a choice where he didn’t have all the information needed to give up on his life as he once knew it – like the woman he’d loved and left behind discovering she’s pregnant with his child and having to face a future alone believing the man she’d loved had died.
Fate is often a fickle thing much like Christmas garland which weaves itself around and into a tree creating a thing of beauty out of something very ordinary. Fate will play another hand in the lives of Lila and Preston and their son as they meet once again at the mountain lodge where they first fell in love – and discover that danger is on the prowl for Preston’s family. Now he has choices to make… and so does she.
THE SEAL’S CHRISTMAS BABY is a fast-paced, intense Romantic Suspense that will capture your attention early on and hold it close until the ending. Lila and Preston have sizzling chemistry between them that easily grows into a love that could last a lifetime – they merely have to survive a few pitfalls and the danger straight in their path. I enjoyed myself in this world and would not hesitate to recommend this story to any reader who loves a sexy hero, a ready-made, if unexpected family, and a plot that will have you flipping pages quickly.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Lila and Preston shared and amazing time together before he was deployed for the military. They agreed it would only be temporary however when she learns that she is pregnant she goes looking for him. Only to find out the he was killed in action. Distraught she picks herself up and moves on for her unborn child but never forgets the man she loved and lost. Preston's unit was ambushed while deployed and everyone was killed but him. His commanding officer offered him a deal when he was mistakenly released as one of the deceased. He wanted Preston to work undercover to find the mole within their branches and Preston was willing to do so to get revenge for his friends. When he had a break between missions he goes back to where he met Lila never expecting to run into her and her little boy. Will Preston let her know he's alive? What will he do about deploying again?
This is a great story with a little suspense mixed in to keep your attention. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This story was sweet and dramatic, angsty and spicy. It gave me the kind of second chance romance I love to see: a sassy heroine, a military hero, and a chance to put their love story back on track. I loved Lila’s fierce independence. Even though everything was going against her, she never gave up and instead came out swinging. Preston hits every one of my hero hot buttons. He’s an alpha protector, he loves fiercely, and he makes the world’s most adorable first-time dad. Really, the only issue I had with the story was that I was a little frustrated waiting for the book to catch up with my suspicious nature. I thought the villain and the reasons behind their actions were pretty easy to spot, so I was gnashing my teeth that no one else was picking up on it. This may have been my first book to read by Katie Knight, but it won’t be my last. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout
Falling in love with a SEAL who, after being together for weeks, must return to the front. Finding out that you are pregnant with him and looking for him to deliver this message and hear that he has died. And 3 years later you know for sure that you see him ........ in the cabin next to you. Preston has signed for secret missions and has seen and lost a lot. As an orphan he had no one waiting for him at home and thought it was good to be declared dead. On his return to America, however, he is confronted with his past and finds it hard to forget Lila ..... and to meet his son. And certainly when they are in danger! Another wonderful novel with many unexpected elements. The tension is well built up, as is the reviving romance between Lila and Preston

The story didn't really draw me in. Normally I'd still try to finish, but I had to stop reading due to inconsistencies. For example, Lila is giving Parker a bath the night before Preston is supposed to watch him. He then asks how often he gets a bath, and she says only in the morning. She proceeds to tell him about nap time but the next morning Preston is freaking out because he forgot to ask about naps.
Parker automatically starts calling Preston "dad" and Lila explains that he calls all men dad. Then Preston starts calling him "son" with no explanation.
As other reviewers pointed out, some of Parker's behaviors and speech were not consistent with a 27 month old.
Also, military personnel typically go by their last name. I can let it slide that he refers to his former SEAL as Randy but there's no way he'd call his CO by his first name, James.
This is the third book I have read by Katie Knight and I each book gets better and better. I smiled in the prologue, the dancing in the rain. I understood the depth of Preston and felt the strength of Lila. Your right there with her as she searches for a way to contact him, the shut doors because shes not the spouse. The frustration the anguish. The deep undercover for Preston didn't sit quite right, but than I am a plan old citizen with no knowledge. This was an extremely enjoyable "second chance, per se; and to have it all unfold over Christmas was great!

This book definitely could have gotten 4 stars with a bit of editing. The plot was cute and I enjoyed the characters, but the author seemed to frequently lose track of details or make minor grammatical errors. There were several scenes that were implausible because it was apparent the author had forgotten what she'd written in the previous chapters. That's unfortunate, but I still enjoyed the story and read to the end because I wanted to see Lila, Preston, and Parker get their happily ever after.
This is a well written second chance romance with strong , well developed characters and an emotional story line. The author does a great job developing their story and pulls you in with the beautiful romance. She adds a bit of suspense and a hot chemistry and delivers a sweet Christmas romance. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

Slowly getting into the spirit with those that catch my eye as this one did. In this one we follow Lila and Preston with events changing Lila's life. As time goes by at the same lodge the unexpected happens and both their lives are changed with this happening at Christmas. The events will churn your emotions with you having made up your mind what you want to happen. Suspense will also head up in this one bringing this into a well rounded romance with the magic of the holidays.
An engaging holiday romantic suspense. I enjoyed the character interaction and the well delivered storyline. I recommend you grab this one as it is definitely a keeper.
This is a romantic, suspenseful, sweet and intriguing story. Preston and Lila met one summer at a resort and had a relationship, until Preston had to report back to his SEAL team. Even though Preston was in love with Lila, he knew that he would never see her again, because he was a career SEAL and never wanted anyone to struggle with his absences. About six weeks after he left, Lila found out that she was pregnant. When she tried to find him she was told the he was killed in action. Three years later, after struggling to raise her son alone, she came into some money and decided to go back to the resort for Christmas. Preston had accidentally been reported dead, but was given the opportunity to let it stand and go undercover to find the traitor that got his teammate killed. He figured that it was no big deal to agree, he was an orphan with no other family. When he took his first break from the op, he decided to go back to the resort. Both were shocked when they ran into each other. Her because she had thought that he was dead, him because he discovered that he had a son. She let him spend time with their son, knowing he was leaving again but not being able to deny is plea for his son. Accidents soon start to happen to her, making him suspicious, but neither took it seriously at first. And the more time they spent together, the more their old feelings come back, the fear and drama making them too hard to ignore. Several twists in the storyline are fascinating. Preston is a sweet, caring guy who doesn't think that he has what it takes to be a family man. Lila is a strong, independent woman who has made it through 3 very tough years. And Parker is the cutest thing. I loved this story, it was so sweet and interesting. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Lila and Preston's story was one of pain, love and forgiveness, and it was beautiful.
Preston meets Lila at a mountain get away while he is on down time and healing from his latest mission as a Seal. Their chemistry is strong, the lust even stronger, the emotions are running deep, but Preston does not want something long term. After returning to duty, and sad, but meaningful goodbye to Lila, Preston finds him self declared KIA due to a clerical mistake.
What is he to do? He takes advance of this opportunity and takes on a black ops mission of extremely deep cover, saying goodbye to Lila for good.
Or so he thought.
Some time later, Lila gets a surprise of her own. She pregnant with Preston's baby.
After trying to find her new love, she learns of his KIA status and makes the choice to be the best single mother she can.
Fast forwards 3 years and Lila and her son Parker, return to the mountain getaway she meet Preston at in the first place. Life is finally looking up for Lila and the last thing she is expecting to see is Preston.
On leave for the holidays and feeling sentimental, Preston returns to the cabins where he met Lila. Some down time, a little TLC and R&R is all Preston is expecting to see.
Not Lila.
Not Lila and his son.
After a messy and emotional reunion, Preston slowly starts to worm his way back into Lila good graces and spend as much time with his son as he can.
When Lila's and Parker's life is put into danger, Preston will stop at nothing to make them same again.
Join the new family for some killer drama, sweet happy moments, and just the right amount sexy to make Christmas hot!

I enjoyed reading this story because I liked how even though their was a lack of communication, they still worked things out. The background was good, descriptions of where they were at and the characters were real.
Lila is working at a resort in the mountains when she meets Preston. He is there on vacation and she basically joins him for three weeks and they have a lot of fun. She knows he is a SEAL and he is going back after his break and she won't see him much and won't know where he is or when he will be back. A few weeks later she finds out she is pregnant and tries to let him know. She is informed that he died in action. She's gotta do what she's gotta do because she is going to have this love child. Three years later, after barely making ends meet she gets an inheritance that she sells so now she takes her child for a vacation out of LA to the mountains to the same resort she met Preston at.
Preston fell in love with Lila but the only family he really has is his unit. When everyone in his unit is killed except for him, yet he is marked as dead, he is given a chance to work undercover for the government to get the people who betrayed his country and got his unit killed. After finally getting the bad guys, and then some, he takes a break back to the resort where he met his one true love Lila. When he sees her there with a child, he knows that child is his. Then there is someone trying to kill her. He needs to protect his family.

**Spoiler Alert** This was my first book by this author and she hit it out of the park. Lila and Preston met when he was on leave from the military. She fell in love with him but he had feelings for her but resigned himself to being a single service man. He leaves for tour and while he is gone she finds out she is pregnant. She tries to get ahold of him but has no luck and tries going to the base to reach him. The service tells her he died in service when if fact he was injured and they marked him dead so he could go undercover to find the people responsible. She has a hardships during and after her pregnancy being that her family passed away years ago and she is alone. She comes in to some money and decides to head back to the place she met him at to celebrate it with her son and to make decisions on how to move forward. Preston gets put on leave and during his time away from her, all he could think about was her so he decides to head back to where they met as well. Let';s say that is when the sparks start to fly. He is now questioning the decisions he has made and she is expecting to leave her again. Add to this mix, someone is going after her as well. He realizes he can't have anything happen to her. This book was great on suspense and chemistry between the characters. It's worth reading.

This story is about Preston and Lila. They both met three summers ago and spent the entire time together. Lila knew that Preston was in the military and would not be there long, so she accepted it; however, in the end, she asked him to promise to contact her once he was back as she just wanted to make sure he was okay. Well eight weeks after he was gone, she finds out that she is pregnant and when she goes to try to find him just to relay the message, she is not helped as she is not an immediate family. A military pastor overhears her conversation and decides to help her if possible. He finds out that Preston was killed a month earlier and gives her that information. She goes on to live her life the best she could with her newborn son… She finally has help by the form of coming into an inheritance of a house her uncle left her and as she pays off her last payment to a pawn shop, she comes across an older man that can’t take his eyes off of Parker, her son. She gets this uneasy feeling and leaves immediately after paying and goes to the place she had met Preston to spend the Christmas vacation with her son. Well the story takes off from there as now there is someone out to kill her and she then discovers that Preston is very much alive! The story is awesome and keeps you on the intrigued until the end.

I have to admit upfront that I love stories by Leslie North and her alter ego Katie Knight. I have always given really good reviews and high marks because they are so entertaining and have great combination of drama, suspense, danger and some smoking hot chemistry.
So it is really hurting me that I cannot write a super positive review for The SEAL's Christmas Baby. I did love the story-line and thought it had the potential for being a wonderful holiday themed second chance at love mixed with a surprise baby story. For the most part it was there but I really had a hard time with continuity and the details. There were just so many things that were shifting all over the place that I had to keep going back to previous parts of the book just to make sure I was remembering correctly, which would not have been the first time my memory had failed me. But my memory was right and I just become more frustrated along the way.
For me I am going to say that this book was fun and had interesting characters that also had a nice smoldering chemistry which does get ignited. But it also had some issues with the details of the story. So I am going to go middle of the scale and admit that I liked the book but I had to suspend my eye for details and just go where the author decided to take me.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
What was supposed to be a Summer Fling between Lila and Preston turns out to be so much more. The life of a Navy SEAL is never easy which is why Preston has never had a real relationship with a woman since he never knows when he will need to leave or if he will return unharmed from whatever mission he was deployed to. When a clerical error presents Preston an opportunity to disappear and go deep undercover he knows that he never made any promises to Lila about a future together. Lila knows Preston promised to call if and when he could but when she hasn't heard from him and finds out she is pregnant with his child she sets about to try and track him down. She is shocked to learn that he was reported as killed in action Times get hard but Lila is determined to do whatever she can do be the best single mother she can be which results in her borrowing money from a less than honorable Pawn Shop. That decision sets in motion a series of events that will lead to not only an unexpected reunion with Preston but several attempts on her life. Can Preston's SEAL training be enough to protect Lila and the son he did not know he had? A page turner with lots of action, some old fashioned Christmas Romance and wonderful characters.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
Another great hit by Ms North. Preston is a Seal, while he was stateside he met Lila and soon after a relationship began. Knowing that he will be deployed, they parted but during which time Lila had fallen in love with him. One day, to her surprise she was pregnant and need to contact Preston. After several attempts, she was told Preston died. She has no one to help her since her family passed away. Being a single mother was tough but she overcame it. A small amount of money came into her from a deceased distant relative which she took this opportunity to go back to the place Preston and her met. What she did not expect to see was Preston, alive and well. Preston was deemed dead as he can go undercover as Black Ops to find out who sabotage their missions. He now needed a break and he too went back to where Lila and him met. He can't believe his eyes when he saw Lila and finds out he has a son. Their attraction and love were still strong but he will have to make the biggest decision of his life. Lila's life is in danger and Preston will do everything he can to keep them both safe. What decision will Preston make? Will he be able to catch the person who is after Lila? You will have to one click to find out. Superb writing, great characters and very engaging story. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and chose to voluntarily leave a review.
This is a great story from Katie Knight. Preston Lawson , a navy SEAL, is taking a vacation in a secluded lodge where he meets the beautiful Lila. They have a fast, furious and passionate affair for a few weeks and although they have obviously fallen in love Preston knows that he must walk away ,he is soon to be deployed into a dangerous situation and doesn't think that it is fair to have anyone depending on him. After Preston has left Lila finds that she is pregnant but when she tries to contact him to let him know she is told that he has been killed in action, in actual fact, it was a clerical error but it enabled him to operate under deep cover by changing his identity. Lila takes her almost 3 year old son back to the same lodge in the hope of getting some closure but is astounded to find that Preston has unknowingly booked into the next lodge. Preston is amazed to find out that he has a son but is desperate to get to know him, it is obvious that the chemistry is still there between Preston and Lila and the torrid affair burns again. It soon becomes clear that the lives of Lila and her son are in great danger and Preston will protect them with his life if need be. This story is intense both emotionally and physically and the chemistry is palpable it is a real page turner and I can highly recommend it
Another great story from these two wonderful authors I enjoyed every minute of it not wanting to put it down until I closed that last page
Preston and Lila had a wonderful fun and passion filled holiday together Then he returned to his work as a Navy Seal he knew he could never ask her to be his wife as that wasn't fair. What he didn't know was that he left her pregnant When Lila finds out she is pregnant she tries to contact Preston to let him know but has she isn't his next of kin or his wife she cannot get any information a army chaplain comes to her aid but the news he gives her is devastating Preston has been killed in action. Lila works hard and gets a stable life for her and her son Parker. Now she is finally set up and she decides to take her son for a Christmas vacation and she is taking him to the lodge where she met Preston. What she doesn't know is that Preston isn't actually dead there was a mix up in paperwork and he has started working for a black ops undercover unit. He is finally taking his first break in a number of years undercover and has headed to the place where he met the one woman he loved. Imagine his surprise when he not only finds Lila there but also his son but who is trying to kill the woman he loves and will he be able to keep her safe and will she give him a chance to be the family man he wants to be. You will have to read to see
