I’m author M.L. Rhodes and I write m/m romance and fantasy. This means my books are about gay or bisexual men meeting, falling in love, and finding happily-ever-afters with other men. Sometimes the settings are contemporary, sometimes the stories take place in worlds filled with dragons, witches, or other fantasy and paranormal creatures. But there’s one thing of which you can be certain…in my books, love always wins!

This was a really good book. I was very much into his book, so much so that I could not put it down. I even stayed up late just to finish this book because I really had to know how it ended. These two men really stole my heart. M.L. Rhodes did a tremendous job on this book that is for sure. I just love a book that is a unrequited love story. And this book was definitely that. Two best friends that lost touch with one another only to accidentally bump into one another again unexpectedly, one that is out in the open gay and the other a supposed straight man who turns out to be not so straight after all....what is not to love??? This book is told from only Hunter’s point of view.

Hunter is totally broken hearted by his boyfriend and business partner Shane. After coming home to catch Shane cheating on him with a would be client, Hinter’s Whole world is thrown into turmoil. He knows that he will never forgive Shane for his betrayal but he is unsure of how they are going to handle the law firm that they are in partnership together in.

What Hunter does know is he is not going back to their condo and he does not want to talk or see Shane right now. So after much debate with himself he decides to head to his hometown in Colorado to spend some time with his family for the Christmas holidays. He is really torn on whether this is a good decision or not but he does know he does not want to be alone right now either so home it is.

Turns out this is the best decision he could have ever made because he now realizes how much he has let Shane and Shane’s attitude influence his own. He also realizes how much he has missed his family and how much he has missed out on where his family is concerned.

After running into someone he did not expect to run into, Hunter gets a few suprises he never expected to get. Jay and Hunter have been best friends since grade school. They was pretty much inseparable until they went to college. Once they went to college, life happened and they lost touch. Now all these years later they have the opportunity to reconnect with one another and Jay and Hunter both have some revealing surprises for one another that neither expected.

Can two men that used to be best friends find a way back to the friendship they once had together? What will happen when secrets are revealed by both men? Can they work towards something more between them? Will Shane end up causing problems for these two if they do reconnect with each other?

This was such a great read. I truly enjoyed this book. The things these two men endured individually to become the men they are today was overwhelming. I loved how these two was able to pretty much pick up their friendship almost instantaneously. M. L. Rhodes did such an incredible job on this book. I truly look forward to more books in the future.

After a super stressful and exhausting week , I needed something to relax with. I read the blurb and sample for this title and figured I’d give the full story a go. I think this is my first book from this author, and this book made such a good impression on me.

The story begins with Hunter crashing on his best friend’s (Emma) sofa after walking in on his boyfriend with another man. It wasn’t just another man though, it was a known sleazy and corruptible philanderer that Hunter despised. His boyfriend Shane had been having an affair with this man, Kilgannon, for quite some time; it was all for the sake of greed. Shane wants the high life without wanting to put in the true work it requires to get there. He’d rather sleep his way to the top, even if that means cheating on his boyfriend with a married man. Naturally, it breaks Hunter’s heart, but the consequences of Shane’s actions affects their corporate law firm that Hunter and Shane own.

To escape from Shane’s betrayal Hunter finally heads home to Colorado where he learns just how much Shane had affected his life with his family. Hunter also bumps into his best friend Jay, with whom he has had a long unrequited crush on since they were teenagers. Only it’s not so unrequited as he was led to believe.

This was an amazing book. From start to finish the author pulled me into the story and kept me enthralled throughout the whole of it. Amazing characterization and the side characters were also a joy to read about.

I have always been a huge fan of M.L. Rhodes writing and recommend to her books to everyone I can. So saying that, I highly recommend this story to one and all.

I really enjoyed this one! Very well written, and I connected with the characters. I almost want this to be a series just so we get to see what happens with their relationship afterwards.
