Untouchable #1

When it comes down to acclaim in the yearbook, my class rank would probably earn me my only entry, but probably very little else. I don’t wear cosmetics, do my hair or really give a damn about my appearance in general. I don’t need to be cool, and I’ve managed my high school career navigating all the different groups from the nerds to the jocks to the theatre kids and the band geeks.Kicking off senior year, my only focus is to make every AP class count and keep my grades up. Shouldn’t be hard, particularly with my so-called untouchable status. Oh yeah, imagine that—I had a reputation. Hadn’t been a blip on my radar until the end of junior year when one of the girls’ dropped that little nugget on me. Apparently, the guys at school considered me the best girl to hang out with for fun or homework, but nothing else. While I’m not looking for a date, it’s a little hard to swallow that I ranked as the best bud and tutor, but would definitely never fall into the Girl Most Likely To Get Asked Out.Pfft. What did I care? One more year and I was off to college, so what if the numbers of female friends I used to have drifted off and I’d scored a permanent seat in the friend zone. I had subjects to study, grades to maintain, and colleges to get into. Fine, I didn’t care about the rules or status before, and I wouldn’t now.181 class days to go, and I’ll graduate. No problem, right?*Please note this is a reverse harem and the author suggests you always read the foreword in her books. Contains some bullying elements, mature situations, and is recommended for 17+. This is the first in a series and the story will continue through future books.

I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

I couldn’t do it

*Disclaimer this is just my preference*

So it took me a while to write this review because I didn’t want to offend anyone and I most certainly didn’t want to
offend the author. However, I think this has to be said. This book was recommended to me by someone and has a lot of positive reviews. So when I read and wasn’t immediately enamored with the story. I thought something was maybe wrong with me or that perhaps I just wasn’t the demographic this series is meant to cater to.

However, this whole book put such a bad taste in my mouth that till this day I have a problem with reading books that are similar. I’m a person very emotionally affected by things I read and this book didn’t sit right with me. Let me start by saying if you aren’t interested in reading any spoilers. Don’t read the next part.

One of the number one issues I have with this book and many others is the fact that a simple solution to everything between Frankie (the fmc) and her boys would have been communication. Basically in this book the fmc “Frankie” is deemed untouchable because her best-friends have told everyone at school that she doesn’t want to date and that essentially they can’t touch her. Why did they do this? Well... simply put, they couldn’t be with her. Yes, you heard me. They started this rumor because they couldn’t be with her.

Because surely if The fmc doesn’t want to date them, she obviously doesn’t want to date anyone else. *gags* she could do much better in my opinion.

You see this could have been hot or cute, but the fact is while maintaining this rumor the guys kept on doing what ever they wanted to do; Dating girls and having sex. Basically, everything they were preventing Frankie from doing.

Eventually Frankie finds out about it and avoids them for a summer. Rightfully so, because come on? What the hell were they thinking?

And how do these guys respond? Well they missed Frankie so much (insert eye roll here) that they came up with game/point system where they have sex with almost every girl at school. THEY MADE A GAME OF IT. Why??? Because again they missed Frankie??? I can’t stress this enough but how gross? And what???

If you can’t tell by this point in my review. I’m not a fan of the guys at all. I don’t care how likable they seem in the end. Their actions show just what kind of people they are. Playing with girls hearts and bodies as a way to get over someone you never really communicated your emotions with?

Spreading lies about your best friend so no one will date her because she unintentionally rejected you? What’s to like about these boys ( these aren’t men) What the F? Excuse me for not feeling bad for you. Because what in the internalized misogyny is this? So they can date and have sex with whoever they want, but when it comes to Frankie she can’t? And because she’s friends with them Frankie knows all about who they’ve been with and who’ve they’ve lost their virginity etc. That’s just ouch? What exactly is romantic about that?

I just find the whole situation to be very annoying and pathetic because literally simple communication could have prevented all of this. When Frankie goes on her first date with this foreign exchange student, who btw she seems to really actually like, the guys ( who have fucked every girl at school) freak and act out in jealousy, essentially putting a stop to it.

Everything just made me feel so grossed out inside, and the kicker. It didn’t really seem like Frankie had an interest in any of the guys up until this point. As a matter of fact I felt like she actually had more chemistry with the foreign exchange student than she did with any of the guys, who I personally feel like messed up her chance to be with someone who would have caused her less pain and drama.

Because believe me there’s pain and drama in spades in this book and here’s why. When Frankie does eventually end up getting with the guys, all the shit they did to the other girls comes to light. All of sudden Frankie is suffering the backlash and repercussions of THEIR not HER actions. For example, photos of them in sexually compromising positions with other girls . She finds clothing belonging to the other chicks in their houses and other things. My heart hurt so much reading this book because Frankie didn’t deserve this, and I didn’t deserve the rotten and sick emotions I felt having to read this book.

How can the guys have claimed to be in love with her so much but then disrespect her by not communicating their emotions to her properly, making that sick game, and by spreading rumors about her. “Untouchable.” More like “unreedemable.” Also their motives did not match their actions. It was all so very weird and unclear to me?

Not only that Frankie never questioned anything with them and the girls? Idk if it’s Mary Sue personality, but she never shows any upset over them having been with a bunch of girls. Or questioned why they took her places they already did as friends instead of outright claiming their feelings for her. If I were in her situation I would?!?!?

I’m not sure what is with authors in RH making the male leads out to be manwhores or playboys and then making the fmc an innocent virgin. But it doesn’t sit right with me. I’m not sure if it’s the case with this book, but I feel like a lot of people validate such things because at the end of the day the fmc is getting a bunch of men. But in my opinion that doesn’t excuse the men’s actions. The fmc doesn’t have to be a virgin to deserve multiple men and the men don’t have to be playboys to be in a harem. Idk if that makes sense. As a feminist sometimes these reads are empowering for me but also sometimes they aren’t, and this read was an example of one that was not. The boys in this book really did the fmc a disservice and I think she should have just stuck with the exchange student .

I’m sorry to those who liked this book and I’m sorry to the author whose written other books I’ve loved, but this whole book made me so emotionally distraught I had to drop. Personally, I didn’t think the guys deserved her at all. It was a dnf for me.

SO. Okay. I liked it, but then my interest just slowly slid away for a couple of reasons. But I think I've read enough to be able to rate it.

1. way too much detail on school life in the sense that it goes into detail about the school homework itself. I haven't been in high school for like 7 years now. I've been there, done that, got the perfect GPA and hated it. I don't have a need to relearn AP literature, European History, or Math. I'm good, thank you lmao. Also there is so much going on in the timeline I could not keep it straight at all. wednesday, saturday, who was going out with who on what day no idea lmao. I just rolled with it.

2. I only liked 1 of the guys and he didn't even make the cut. :(

3. I didn't like the actual love interests. 1 was alright, another was kinda cute but flakey, and the last 2 were just cranky x100. Also was super confused as to why they were love interests to begin with cuz they rude as hell. possessive. controlling. keeps extremely important and emotionally traumatic information from the MC because REASONS. You know. Prime love interest stuff. and the one guy who was actually cool didn't make the cut cuz. idk. the MC just got bored with him somehow. Rude.

But i'm gonna be honest here. I'm not a teenager anymore. This sort of thing might appeal to people who enjoy YA/highschool type stuff. I may be a little too old to sympathize with these kinds of turmoils. SO. Maybe not for me, but I can see this being appealing to people for sure.

Finally another decent contemporary RH book! This has all the usual tropes in it: daughter is abused, has all boy friends, she's focused and dedicated to getting out of the life she has, mom is a total nut case. Despite having these things I enjoyed it. The lack of good contemporary RH books lately definitely made me appreciate this one. I love the guys in this story they all are just the best with different personalities to bring to the table. But the MC can be annoying and quick to cut people out of her life for a long time. Just gets old after it happening time and time again through out the book.
The MC is 17, Senior in HS, but there are steamy scenes in it which I felt were just rushed to have smuttyness in the story.

Frankie and her four best friends, Bubba, Archie, Cooper and Jake, are entering their senior year in high school. It should be the best time of their lives. Unfortunately, Frankie found out the guys had declared her as "untouchable" and distanced herself over the last summer. Starting senior year, the boys are having none of that. When Frankie lets them know that she WILL experience the things other people get to do, like dating, they decide to FINALLY step up and make their move. All of them. Is it all too little too late? Will taking their relationships further than friends break them all apart? How many freaking secrets can one set of friends really have?

Ok, serious talk here. I feel like this is going to be one of those BIG series. I'm not comparing the story but the popularity here but I'm talking like GB or TVD big. This is one of those series that the characters just resonate with you. They are complex. Their relationships and lives are complex. We get to delve deep. They are friends first and crossing lines into romantic territory. While we do get some action in this book, there is so much sexual tension it is unreal. Personally I enjoy the buildup. The emotional side and not just the let's jump in the sack and bang. I get so tired sometimes of just skimming through sex scenes b/c that's all we get. Ahh but I digress.

Now, of course, we have more going on than just their relationships growing. Frankie also has another male admirer who didn't get the untouchable memo. He causes some drama in a humorous way and a bit of an “oh no” way as well. Plus we have some weird stuff going on with Frankie and her mom. Their relationship is a bit...unusual.

So at the beginning of the book it tells you up front. You do NOT get a happy ending at the end of book one. I knew that, I was expecting that. But holy fire on a cracker I DID NOT see that ending coming. Just when things were finally smoothing out and then BAM. Totally out of left field.

By now you guys should know what I like and what I don't like. If what I like is close to what you like, then you definitely want to read this book. I'm telling you now, this one is going to take off like wildfire.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a story about a girl who has four best guy friends. All the guys are super popular but our heroine, Frankie, is the studious type that keeps her head down and has high aspirations for Harvard. Frankie though takes stock of her life during this book and the one thing that she has been missing is dating, seeing her guy friends have that experience makes her want it too and she suddenly wonders why she has never been approached...and so it begins.

My only niggle with this book was that there was so much about everyday school life and home life, and it did get a little bit monotonous. Like everyday routines were detailed every day, even though they were the same. However, I am well invested in this story and have just downloaded book 2.

This was only an ok read for me, and I have to admit it got a little boring and annoying. I only kept reading as I was curious what was going to happen at the party.
I wasn't really a fan of a lot of the characters - I wish Frankie would've spoken up and actually talked to the guys sooner instead of things kinda dragging out from the beginning; the guys were annoying assholes making decisions for her and not taking her feelings into account - though Ian wasn't as bad and I did like him the best.
But yeah with the guys actions and treatment of someone they apparently care so much about? It really doesn't have me wanting to see them together, or make me want to keep reading the series..

I'm not sure how to rate this, so for now, I'll leave it without any stars.

While I somewhat enjoyed reading this book about Frankie and her boys, I also got slightly tired of reading about who has which lesson/school subject next, and what homework they need to do, and what food they want to order, and who'll meet up with whom, when, and where. Oh, and who will bring the coffee (spoiler alert: it's almost always Archie). The book was just a long date/meet-up planning session at times. And I understand that some of it was to create the relationships, but I mean, at this point, I know what type of pizza Frankie likes and how many cakes she's baked, but I would struggle to describe, for instance, what any of the characters look like. Other than 'muscular' for a few of them.

And the underlying supposedly-drama-creating plot about Frankie being "untouchable" wasn't that strong of a plotline to really carry the whole book, or possibly the following books. I appreciated Frankie standing up for herself, and all that, but if that was the main drama, then.. Ehh.. It just seems weak.

Also, two possibly spoilery bits annoyed me, so:

Read other books by this author in the future: yes

I jumped on this one, because one of the reviewer said that it is like TVD. I cannot support this comment but I liked the book. Frankie has known the MMC for a long time a main difference to TVD second big difference is that it is a contemporary rh. Where in TVD the MCs get to know each other gradually but click as friends pretty quickly, this stage was not there. We jump into the story at senior year where Frankie is untouchable and the guys single or nearly single but did date in the past. But Frankie wants to date and experience Senior year and when the guys find out that she met someone they up their game. First part and bigger part of the story is winning over Frankie. But it does not end well. There are many secrets and the guys trying to protect her and this leads to a sad cliffhanger ending.
I enjoyed the book and I loved the MCs. But sometimes the guys were kind of a******* and they know it and do not try to change - at least in the first book. Luckily the next one will be out on the 20th January 2020. So if you haven’t read it until now just wait until the next book is close to releasing because the cliffhanger leaves you wanting for more. I am looking forward to get the next book.

Rules and Roses (Untouchable Book 1) Kindle Edition
by Heather Long
I received an eARC from the author and choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
Please note the Kindle version of this book will be published on November 25, 2019

Wow! What a complex story with a gut punch of an ending.
Frankie is starting her final year of high school. She is a deeply driven person, and knows what she wants to do. She wants to save up the money to go to college somewhere there are seasons! She lives in the heart of Texas with her mother and her four best friends – Cooper, Jake, Bubba and Archie. But this past summer, she had been avoiding the boys because, in their infinite wisdom, they had made it clear to other boys that she is untouchable and undateable. This year, she wants to experience what all girls in high school do and she tells the four that. They decide that they will date her, setting rules up between them on how it will go. When someone begins leaving her roses, they do not handle it well.
These characters are deeply complex, something you don't usually see in High School romances, even the RH kind. All of them are the edge o new adulthood, and they have the most interesting relationships with their parents.
This is, thankfully, not a bully romance, but a real high school romance with smexy time. Please note, this is not a YA romance with PG-13 or off-screen sex scenes. These teenagers behave the way teenagers have always behaved. The scenes are touching and what every woman dreamt their various first times would be like – sweet, gentle and completely consensual.
I, personally, adore all the boys, but Bubba is my favorite. He is a gentle soul, even though he is a great football player, who has the idyllic family we all want.
Frankie is a deeply driven person, who has spent a great deal of time on her own because her mother is a tad flaky. She reminds me of my friends and me way back when.
The plot is a bit o a slog, there aren't really any villains running about and the action is all about dating. But the characters are worth it, including the side characters.
I think I know who is giving Frankie roses... I can't wait to find out in the next book.
Warning: This does not have an HEA ending. It is very much a cliffhanger.

4 ½ stars out of 5 rounded up.

These boys are lil bitches. That’s all I can say. Bitches.

I liked this story very much and plan on reading the next book—but there’s way too much unnecessary detail. Like way too much involving eating, coffee, and stuff that doesn’t really move the plot. The book could have been shorter if you cut those details out.

I also felt like the relationships moved fast and we didn’t feel any tension. One minute they’re friends and then bam! They’re talking about dating her. Sure, the boys said that they’ve always liked her but it was just so anticlimactic. I would have loved a little more angst...so to speak. Oh well. Onto the next one!

I really tried to continue on with this series but barely got through this book. The inner monologue with the FMC was a little over the top. I did not need that much info about her school work or random 2-page ramblings about other classmates that have no merit to the story and were never mentioned again. There were way too many instances where she kept babbling on about assignments and what her workload was. Umm...ok...didn’t need to know that. It just felt like I was reading a bunch of filler to lengthen the story. There were some good parts but overall the character dynamics were a bit weak and I didn’t really feel much for any of the guys.

Too much detail about everything.
If you go to a state school then it is best to take a dual credit class, if you are going to an out of state school then do this.

The author explains what class every character in this book is taking. Who cares?!?
DNF.

Please get an editor who will be honest with you. This book can be cut in 1/2 with all the unnecessary nonsense.
Great premise, poor execution.

Good Start

I've been reading this off and on since it was released. I finally decided to finish it up because I do want to continue the series.

Frankie is a pretty typical girl who has recently discovered that her four guy friends (her only friends) declared her untouchable to any guy at their school. Even though she's previously shown no interest in guys or dating, she realized that she would have liked the chance to say yes or no if a guy asked her out. Despite what Archie, Ian, Coop and Jake believe, she has noticed that guys never ask her out.

Turns out the guys did this because all four of them want her for themselves and don't want to see her with any other guy. They justify doing what they did by making the excuse that Frankie never noticed it when any of them flirted with her, so she must not have been interested in dating, anyway. Never mind that the guys sure haven't kept from dating or remained celibate all this time. Not did a single one of them actually confess their feelings until a foreign exchange student with no clue of her untouchable status starts making a move.

The guys are all kind of overbearing at times when they seriously start trying to monopolize all of Frankie's time even when it comes to their group of friends. These guys are certainly not naturals at sharing. However, they manage to convince Frankie to give them a shot and they all have some sweet and seriously hot moments with her.

Despite that, they are still teenage boys, so they do manage to screw up again. Thankfully, Frankie once again puts her foot down and I think they are finally understanding that they need to comprehend the things Frankie tells them. Just when they start making progress on that discussion, though, a secret the guys have been keeping ends up revealed to Frankie in a big way. Just sayin', but I really don't care for Frankie's mom or her new boyfriend.

Also, a secret admirer (read: stalker) keeps leaving notes and roses on Frankie's car. The guys hate it, but Frankie thinks it's sweet. I think it's creepy.

Now I will finally start book two because I want to see Archie, Ian, Coop and Jake groveling and Frankie hopefully confronting her absentee mother at some point.

Not what I was expecting

Maybe I've read to many high school centered books that felt like the characters were a lot older than what they were supposed to be, because this book was just to boring for me. I skipped through this book trying to get to more interesting parts, but I really couldn't find many. The book is very centered around school, which I get because the characters are seniors in high school, but it was just to school involved for me. And the attraction between the characters seems to come out of nowhere. I will say, the writing is well written and from what I did read there weren't any typos that caught my eye, that's why I'm giving it 2 stars and not 1. I do think the book was just not to my liking, because when I looked over the reviews everyone else seemed to love it, which is why I gave it a chance.

** The following below is just some of the things that I didn't like about the book, so if you don't like spoilers please don't read anymore if you plan on reading this book.**

I really don't know why FMC didn't just call the guys out about her untouchable reputation that they caused her before the end of the last school year. I feel like the first 40% of the book was unneeded back and forth with her coming to terms with her feelings about what the guys did. That's also when I started skimming the book. And its a little weird to me that once the FMC stated that she was interested in dating, her male friends automatically believed that they were the only option for her. Not even her wanting to date someone new to the school was ok with them, they pushed that out the window and then created rules between the four of them for dating her.

"They dated and frequently. I couldn’t count the number of girls I’d caught them making out with over the last couple of years, so why did they get to date and I didn’t?"

“When you stole my phone and send messages to the guys or my other friends? Poking fun or telling jokes? Or when you would fill it with goofy photos and then post them to my Instagram?”

They’re so controlling, possessive and jealous to the point that she can’t even make friends much less date anyone. They argue and snap at each other yet they’re best friends?

But it all gets swept under the rug. Sabotaging her social life? It was just a joke. Why no one wants to date her? They forced every guy away because she didn’t want to date anyone.

All excuses for their chauvinistic controlling behavior.

Completely captivating

In general, I am not a reverse harem fan. I AM, however, a huge fan of this author. As this is book 1 in a new series, by an author I really enjoy, I figured “why not” and gave it a shot. I’m SO glad I did! It was funny and sweet, with entertaining character interactions and a storyline that flows fast and smoothly. I was completely captivated, sucked right in and unable to put it down until the very end. And that ending!! I can’t wait for book 2!

The guys are soooo fucking cute/sweet/hot until they’re not. Growing pains of new relationships, I suppose.

For the most part, this book made me giddy, and I smiled and swooned like a loon.

that ending ...

Are you kidding me? How have I not read this series yet? Author Heather Long has me all excited with the first love jitters and butterflies and I was so excited for Frankie.. then boom and then boom again .. I am going to have to have a talk with Archie,Bubba,Jake, and Coop. This just can’t happen . I need to tell them how I feel about all of this ...
Frankies Mom.. she’s in big big trouble with me! She definitely has some “splainin” to do..
I freaking love Frankie. I wish I was that organized now let alone when I was her age. She’s definitely got her priorities straight. I am a little in love with her myself.
What’s up with Rachel? Something ain’t right there! No worries I’m going to get to the bottom of all this! I’m going on to book two because if one good thing about not reading this series yet is that I can keep reading on .. look at me glass half full!

3.5 stars..... I rarely ever rate a book under 5 stars and am very lenient about grammatical errors, spelling errors, missing or extra words, and repetitive parts in a book; however, these things were very hard to ignore in this book and I'm not sure anyone has taken the time to point out these things to the author. I found myself pretty much skimming the book after about 25% because the story just didn't have a fast enough pace for me and the errors made it hard to read. I would have rated lower than 3.5 stars, but the characters and their relationship between their group intrigued me.

I saw another reviewer mention it irked them when she lost her virginity to the guy who was definitely the most unlikable of the group and I have to agree. While the scene wasn't written poorly and the guy was sweet and gentle and showed he cared during those moments, it was just hard to see why she picked him out of the others for her first time. I didn't take stars off for this, but it was one of those WTF moments for me.

I really think a better editor and beta reader is needed because the amount of issues with this book makes a reader feel like this was rushed to be published and an author looking for money vs. an author that wants to take time to create a product worth purchasing. I just saw there are 6 books in this series and the first 5 only seem to cover half a year. That is really dragging out a story unnecessarily and unfortunately in the end it will make readers lose interest.

I really like these characters and the series could be amazing if it wasn't so drug out to a point of it becoming mundane and repetitive. Maybe it will get better, but the timeline given in the blurbs don't give me much hope on that happening. And I'm definitely over reading about her cats (we don't need to know she has to feed them, take out the litter, etc. every single time). More dialogue and interaction between the characters and less repetitive day to day non-important stuff would make the series move at a faster pace and help keep readers interested vs. skimming thru a book.

I've now read book 2 in this series as well and unfortunately it is a lot of the same boring repetitive stuff. I'm giving book 3 a chance now because I really do like these characters, but will probably end up skimming most of it like I did for the first two books.

Clearly stated in the beginning of the book, Rules and Roses does not have a conclusive end in this first book of a series. It does have an engaging story that leads to (hopefully!) more in the series, and has all the pieces of a story that will grab you and hold on until you finish.

Frankie grew up with four friends – guy friends – who have sort of sabotaged her high school dating years. “The boys” have made it clear to all other males that she is not to be touched, and she does not date, but they don’t exactly fill Frankie in on their plan. Since the author tells you, right up front, that this is a reverse harem story, I really started looking for all the clues to how this relationship will come together. Whoa. Once it starts, it gets pretty hawt very quickly. And yet, these five never really figure out what it is they are creating, and that made it fun to read.

It is a YA story so there is teenage angst; each of these characters has a story of their own to tell. Frankie has the strangest relationship with her mother. Bubba, or Ian, has a pretty good family life. Coop lives in the same apartment complex, and has been Frankie’s friend for years, but has a strained relationship with his father (which reaches over into his relationship with his mother and sister.) Archie is a poor little rich kid. Jake is just strange. But lovable!

So many personalities for Frankie and her crew to blend when making the transition from best friends to so much more. Be warned: just when you think the book is winding up…it throws a huge monkey wrench into the picture! I finished this story with a complete look of shock on my face. Be aware that it is a reverse harem but I found it very enjoyable. The story itself seems like it will be the basis for whatever adventures come next for this group and I truly enjoyed.

This is not my usual go-to genre but the author is on of my favourite PNR authors so I decided to give it a whirl. Wow I was not disappointed.

Apart from making my feel achingly old and very cougary, this is a great story. Strong plot with engaging characters. You can really feel the confusion Frankie has towards her "boys". You really want to slap them sometimes though. The whole don't-touch-her attitude just made her lonely situation worse! Instead of protecting her, they really hurt her!

Frankie is determined to dig herself out of her current situation. Her mother may as well be a room-mate, she is far too self-absorbed to care what happens to her daughter. Frankie is pretty much top of the class, driven and doggedly saving for college. She has the love and protection of her "Boys" Cooper, Jake, Bubba and Archie. They are a pretty disparate lot but all have an eadearing quality - they all love Frankie, even if they won't admit to themselves never mind Frankie!

When she learns why she is such a social pariah the boys deecide that THEY will be her dates and they begin to pick dates with Frankie. But they may have competition 'cos someone keeps leaving her roses on her car and it's not any of them!

No bullying as such but the boys are definitely protective! They give some of my favouriate adult heroes a run for their money in the sexy stakes! I must admit that last scene - WOW I did not see that coming and it was just another layer of lies for Frankie to unravel!

Please note that there is no HEA - there is a humdinger of a cliffhanger!

Frankie is ready for her senior year. She's filled her schedule full of AP classes, plans too get the grades, and get accepted into Harvard. It's always just been her and her mom and she's ready for more. She also wants all of the experiences of being a teenage girl. She wants to date, she wants her first kiss, to wear a pretty dress and go to a dance, to have fun. To do that she has to get her "untouchable" status lifted. The one imposed by her four best friends, Coop, Bubba, Archie, and Jake.

This book was pure teen enjoyment. I liked the angst, the drama, the sexual tension. The characters are flawed but mostly likable. They seem to be a good fit because the guys aren't as wonderful as the female population seems to think and Frankie doesn't have it all together as much as everyone seems to think. She's a good teen but not as perfect as everyone pretends. I would love for her to find more spirit and sass. I love contemporary RH, so Frankie and her boys appealed to me. I definitely plan to continue on with this story. I need to know if the guys learn to let Frankie have an opinion of her own, if she learns to stand up for herself, if the exes all back off, if the secret admirer turns out to be who I think.

Footnote: I do hope that there is another round of editing.

First off that young girl I really could relate to now because that is how I am now. I have tons of make up but do not use it things like that. So with that being said it was very easy for me to fall into this one and really get in sync with it. The rep she had I did not think was a bad one but guys can be so dumb in that department when young though. The best girls are not usually the easy ones lol. Being also this one was the first in a series it gave a good bones to it. But then she does have the best of buds lol. I do not think though I have read a YA reverse before so this was refreshing to me. The characters are ones you become attached to just like Frankie does. As I said knowing this one was only the beginning I knew I had to be patient which is hard to do for this author's books.

Oh my God. This book is torture. The summary sounded good & the idea was there but good lord this is so boring. I am 50% through & I just can't finish it. I liked the boys & even the main female character but there were so many details & the story was just dragging....im not really sure what the author was trying to achieve by dragging this story out but I tried.
