I have read most of the books that are available from J.S. Scott. From The Vampire Coalition to The Billionaires Obsession series, I love her characters. They are wonderfully vulnerable alpha males. The females are usually not your typical love interests. This book is a different slant dealing with demons but I have once again been captured by the story. I am certain you will fall in love with Zach as he struggles with his past and how to handle Kat. I loved Kat, she is so insecure because she is not the "perfect woman in her opinion. It was romantic, and steamy. It looks like there will be more stories of the Sentinel'sand I am looking forward to Drews story!

Wow I absolutely loved this book, Kat was wonderful vulnerable woman with normal insecurities that just made her likeable, and her selflessness towards her family made her esspecially exceptional.
Then there is Zack not everyone's Hero being a Demon, but how could you not fall for someone who is not only big, strong, magical and vulnerable also and not looking but needing some one in his life. How could you not fall for someone that is hot and thinks you are his whole world. Someone that wants to save the whole world but saves you instead.
Loved love and cannot wait to read the next of this series.

Zach is a demon. Zach is a billionaire. Zach is a good demon. The Sentinels are demons but they protect humans from the evils. Zach is sent on a rescue to save Kat. As soon as Zach sees Kat he knows- she is his radiant. Kat has a power that is so powerful that the evils won’t stop until they get her. Zach does everything in his power to keep her safe. Will Zach be able to make her his and will Kat be able to accept him?
I wasn’t sure about this book when I first came across it. I am glad I read it. Don’t let the demon aspect turn you off. I almost did and I would have missed out on a great read. I cannot wait for book 2 Drew’s story. I really enjoyed this book. I absolutely love J. S. Scott. Her work is amazing. I love her alpha males and the strong heroines to keep them in check.

Outstanding Romantic Paranormal story about good versus evil, of Sentinels (good magical demons) protecting humans from the Evils (sadistic bad demons) who go the humans souls/spirit. It's also a love story between Zach Winston, a wealthy Sentinel and one of three brothers, who is assigned to protect Katrina (Kat) Larson from the Evils that are after her. Unbeknownst to them, she also has magical powers that won't manifest until she is mated with Zach. She also happens to be Zach's radiant (mate). This story pulls you in from the start to finish and had me on the edge of my chair. There is a lot of action and hot erotic sex. Loved the terrific story line and characters. I highly recommend this book and looking forward to reading the second book in this series.

I loved this book and that's saying a lot for me, believe me! It's rare for me to find a book that can not only capture my attention but keep it!
Zach is all alpha and Kat is an absolutely fabulous, relatable Yen to His Yang! I love the way Ms. Scott wove these two together and the very unique twist she's put on an age old story of Good Vs. Evil!
And we'll not mention the hot smeximess between Zach and Kat...but it's worth the read!
So, well done Ms. Scott, well done indeed!

I was so pleased this story ! My only disappointment is that I read Drew first then , Zach. Now realizing that Zach's story is just as wonderful. Zach attitude towards his inner demon and his constant need to protect Kat, made the story so exciting with a continuous flow engaging moments that made so needy I did want to have the story come to an end. I love 1 and 2 and I am now thirsty for Hunter Story! Thank you J,S Scott for you delightful stories.

As with all J.S. Scott's books, she writes strong heroines and heroes that you love. Kat was a strong, smart, caring heroine who has taken care of everyone first who meets the hero, Zach and she believes that she's not good enough for him. They fall in love in a very sweet but highly sensual way. Again, I would highly recommend all of J.S. Scott's books, this one included!

This was awesome, I had read the short story previously but that had nothing on this full length novel. The full story was so much better and I eagerly await the release of the rest of this series. J.S. Scott's books are an absolute thrill to read.

Scott has outdone herself. This story line crosses the boundaries of reality and keeps you wanting more! and of course steamy loves scenes as always!

Came across this series be accident and glad I did it was a good read. Enjoyed Zach and Kats story. Kept me reading to see what happens and the steamy scence was a bonus.

This was a nice quick read. You feel for Zach as he's dealing with the guilt of losing his little sister when he was 17, and Kat's feeling she's too plain for someone as gorgeous as Zach. They are mates & Zach tries to fight it, feeling he doesn't deserve her. Then as J.S. Scott says...all hell breaks loose. Once he finds out the Evils are determined to get her soul Zach realizes he loves her & can't let her go; determined to protect her. Kat is one of the keys to the sentinels rescuing humans still in the demon realm and we're led to believe Drew & Hunters radiants (demon mate)are the other keys. Ready for Drew's story. Waiting till November will be rough.

It has been a hit minute since I read a paranormal book. I must say, I was not disappointed at all. I loved the evil good versus the evil bad and the strong women who bring out the best and enhance the evil goods abilities to protect the human race.
A Dangerous Bargain was filled with drama, lust, love, and romance while shrouded in mystery.

This is the Beginning of The Sentinel Demons Series and what fantastic start. I loved reading this paranormal romance.
This book takes you on a fabulous journey of good and evil demons. I think there is a little demon in all of us. Some use it for the greater good and then there are those that choose to take their inner demon and do unspeakable things to humans.
The sentinels try to protect the humans. Sometimes preventing events before they take place but mostly they are forever on rescue missions.
Zach is a recruiter of sentinels but for some reason is boss and King of the Sentinels, Kristoff sends him on a rescue mission.
He feels inadequate for the job but he would never let Kristoff down.
All becomes clear when he comes face to face with his radiant. A Sentinels mate. Zach has never wanted to have a mate. He suffered dearly when he was younger losing his sister. He carries so much guilt around it eats away at him.
He knows deep down that no one could love and protect his radiant like him but what kind of life would it be like to be stuck with a demon.
I'd say a fantastic one. The man is in fact a demon but his the good kind using his powers to protect others. He is super hot, caring, loving and the most fantastic lover, taking care of his woman's needs first. AND he is loaded, the man has millions. What's not to like? Exactly, nothing. Let's get mated!
Zach has two brothers, Drew and Hunter. They are not blood related but they are family all the same. They are there for one another and have been for years.
Kat is being haunted by demons in her dreams or should those be nightmares. Jesus imagine not knowing what is real and what isn't.
She is going to make a bargain with these evil demons to save her nephew but she doesn't realise that there is no danger for him, only she will be a danger if she makes the deal, they will use her then kill her when she is no longer useful.
Zach comes to rescue her but she thinks he is the demon and yes he is but not the kind that was in her nightmares.
She finds herself attracted to him but knows once the week is over she will be sent home. No point in getting attached no matter how nice he is to her.

DNF at 33%. It was not badly written and it did have some potential in the world-building and the basic structure of the story arc.
BUT: It had insta-love/insta-lust plus insta-soulmates via "Radient" (=same thing as sappy shifter mating stuff). It took out every suspense. The romance was foregone conclusion.
Nothing interesting between those two can happen as the best part of a romance for me is the getting to know eacht other, the slow start, the slow burn, the realisation that this one person might be, well, the one. Here it is done instantly.
Also: I dislike the whole self-doubts the heroine has. I am not very far into the novel and I was force-fed like three times, how she doesn't consider herself attractive because of her curvaceous figure. Yes, men are known to hate big boobs...
I do appreciate that not all heroines need to be kick-ass, not all need to have confidence. But really, she was getting on my nerves, as she was such a Mary Sue. The sacrifice for her nephew, her sweetness, her not knowing her own appeal, bla bla bla.
So I stop reading here and go back to some M/M I think.

A Dangerous Bargain is the first book in the Sentinel Demons Series by J.S. Scott. This is the first book that I’ve read in this genre. I was pleasantly surprised by the story of Kat and Zach. It was a quick read that I read in one sitting. I am giving it a four star review only because I haven’t read anything in this genre to compare it to. If you enjoy books about Demons and Sentinels, I would recommend this to you. I look forward to reading the second book in the series.

One would think all demons are the same, right? Wrong! Sentinels are demons who have some humanity left so that they can save humans from the bad demons called, Evils. Sentinels have mates called radiants, but they may never find them, the radiant may die before the Sentinel finds her, there are no guarantees. Evils don't get mates. Scott has written an amazing story with pig-headed heroes that aren't easy to like, but after hearing their story and getting to them, they become easier to understand. This is unlike anything I've read, it was recommended to me because I was looking for something with demons. This is a story with all the feels and a HEA. RECOMMENDED
