I bought this book on a discount rack when I first moved out on my own 20 years ago. These days I don't like using a lot of processed foods, but grocery budgets being what they are, this book (though battered) still has a place on my bookshelf. It is excellent for using what you have in the pantry and what I would call making something out of nothing. I recommend this book to new & busy families on a regular basis.

Meals I grew up on. Families of four or less might find it useful to cut the recipes in half. Usually, I use this book when hankering for a quick childhood meal. Nutrition on many of the dishes is iffy.
