Secret Daddy

Rate this book
I can’t remember my son’s father …
Ten years ago a drunken hookup lead to a little shifter baby. I love my son with all my heart, but I can’t remember who his father is and raising a young wolf is getting harder by the day. I need help, but I can’t exactly go around town asking if anyone knows about shifters. I have to find a way to give Brock the alpha role model he needs … and maybe I could find a partner of my own?

When I meet Gavin, he’s shocked to realize that Brock is his kid. He says he’d never abandon his own child, and I believe him. But am I ready to let him make up for all those lost years?

The spark of our new family burns bright as we dive head first into our rekindled relationship, but a sudden shift in the arrangement brings up problems of its own. If Gavin and I are going to make it work we’ll need to figure out how to get over our own issues to be the family we’re meant to be. Fate has given us a second chance, and we can’t let it slip away.

Seriously. Gavin and Kyle are my favorite Timberwood pair. And Brock is awesome especially as he hasn’t completely lost it about being called Brocky in public. Man I cringed for him. It was exciting, angsty, romantic, and a little bit dangerous. Best one yet.

Read by Shon

It's the same book, the names are all different but it is the exact same story as book 1 and 2.

This is the third book in this series, and I think for me it had a few more teary moments but still a sweet story. It shows the struggles Gavin and Kyle face to get their HEA. I think this makes them relatable characters. In this book we're also seeing more from the dragon shifters, and I'm curious to see what happens with that element of the storyline.

But I Don't Know How to be a Dad!

Isn't it hard enough being a Single Omega Father? But what if you are Human and have been trying to raise a Wolf shifter baby / child? Feeling discombobulated, shocked, and scared. He had irrefutable proof of the existence of Shifters. The man whom he'd had a drunken hook up with was a Wolf shifter! And as he got older his son became more difficult to handle. Despite a concerted effort he was unable to find his son's father. A search compounded by the fact that he didn't know any Wolf shifters other than his son. He actually had no idea that the rumors around Timberwood Cove about Wolf shifters had any validity.

What if you are guiltily eaten up with jealousy of your fellow pack mates who are mated with Alpha sons they adore? But you can't imagine fulfilling that pressing desire because have an Alpha Dad role model. His Omega Dad wasn't able to teach him how to behave as a proper Alpha. How could he possibly be a decent Dad to his pup?

This was an entertaining book. I've read the Timberwood Cove series out of order. It was nice to go back and see how individuals & couples mentioned in later books achieved their happily ever after.

Kept stopping my brain...
As a reader let me ask you...you're reading along and some weird discrepancy pops up in the storyline it stops your brain for several sentences? That kept happening to me here. But then I am a sci-fi fantasy fan fan so I'm a little critical when it comes to the details and synchronicity with the storyline *****Spoiler alert - one example- car chase with the dragon luxury car an Audi, I believe there would be no reason at all for someone to need to throw a cell to someone to call them your phone automatically connects when you get in a damn car. I even expounded further in my brain do this recently made it so he was single before so yes most likely and definitely him being a gamer with an Audi it's going to connect to his car!
And how did Kyle find out about the dragon fight before Gavin called? He was on air at work. where did all his righteous indignation come from!

See just picky... But cute story.

The only way to make sense out of change
is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. ~Alan Watts~
This was a really enjoyable, heartwarming romance! I absolutely loved Gavin & Kyle. I enjoyed the second chance, one night stand story line. Gavin realizes the scent of his mate during a gaming convention and also realizes he has a son named Brock. The build of their courtship was really sweet, I like that they took their time to tell Brock the truth of who Gavin was to him. I did feel bad for Gavin and all of his inner battles about whether or not he would be a good father for a son he hadn't seen in 10 years, but the way he handled it was great. Even after all the trials and tribulations Gavin and Kyle went through, I really did love the way they handled everything. Another awesome job by Guillaume, I love his voice!

This one was a 3 star for me just because I didn't care for the whole let's blame Gavin for the incident outside the video game store. Not only blame him without knowing the full story of the incident but also add unnecessary insults like "putting my son in danger" when the child is Gavin's as well and he didn't put him in danger. Let's add in dragging out the whole mess for almost 2 weeks and keeping him away from his kids. Completely over dramatic. I'm more of discuss the issue and how about help your new community/ family instead of tucking tail.

Enjoyed the first 2 books more just because this situation was able to be handled in multiple less hurtful ways. Though I do love Kyle and Gavin together outside that situation. Brock is a great kid as well.

Rating: 2.5/5 - So average it wasn’t even the good average. I skimmed through a lot of the story. Very dysfunctional dynamics.

I not once felt like Kyle was an actual parent. He seemed like an uncle - there was not enough story to remotely show how much of a dad he’s been over the 10 years.

Gideon is not a bad character but he doesn’t really elicit feelings of compassion or empathy. He just walks into this ready made family and takes to it like a fish in water. The sense is not making.

I wanted a light read that could distract me but instead couldn’t wait to finish this book. I didn’t want to make the 1st of May a day of DNFs.

I was looking for a specific type of story and this book was recommended to me.

While I did enjoy the story, there were several editing errors and occasionally Kyle frustrated me with how critical he was of Gavin’s ‘mistake’.

*****
POV… multi first person

Standalone or series… book 3 in series. I read as standalone but there seems to be a story arc that runs in the background that I didn’t completely understand

Hangover… no

Recommend… sure

Reread… maybe

KU read
Gavin… game creator/Alpha/wolf shifter
Kyle… radio personality/ Omega/human

I like this series of books so far but have to say that they are all very alike in content. I did enjoy it but it stopped really abruptly. It looks like the book wasn’t finished to me - or at least that’s how it appeared. Not sure what happened there. Other than that, it was a pleasant read but it just felt like I was reading books 1 and 2 all over again but with different names.
I’m going to persevere though with the next one and hopefully I won’t be disappointed...

Secret Daddy is book 3 in the Timberwood Cove series. I love this series as the pack members find their fated mates. This book is about Kyle, a human omega, who's raising his 10 year old son, Brock, alone after a drunken one night stand. At a gaming convention Kyle and Brock meet Gavin, an alpha game maker who just so happens to look just like Brock and turns out to be Gavin's fated mate. Definitely recommend this book and series. Narrator Guillaume Dubois does a marvelous job.

I was really liking it, up until about midway. I liked that Gavin struggled with his new role as father and I understood that he missed up a lot, but what I don't understand is Kyle. I think he was a little too stubborn especially after him and Brock both wanted Gavin back yet Kyle wouldn't make the move to call him back. Yet he was always wondering why Gavin didn't call or text after he had asked Gavin not to. So that was a bit frustrating. Besides that, it was a solid read.

This story had a little more heart wrenching moments then the first two stories in the series. It pulled so hard at my heart.

When children are involved a story can become a little more complicated especially when it’s a surprise for one of the men.

Our alpha and omega have a lot to work on for each other and within themselves!

3.5☆ ... I am SO OVER the omega
-mad-at-the-alpha-and-storming-off-without-listening plot device. As with the previous book, I was really enjoying it up until then. I think if the author pulls it in the next book too, I may be done with the series 😖😖😖

Cozy Romance

I’m a sucker for Liam Kingsley’s Timberwolf Cove. I had a craving for a sweet but little angsty book and I came back to reread this for the 4th time. It’s such a good story and I love the world they built with the multiple characters in the series.

I will admit that this series seems to get better with each book but the conflicts still seem to come out of nowhere and the kids are written in a way that doesn't make them sound like kids at all.

This is the third book in The Timberwood Cove Series. A sweet book with good writing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters interesting. The characters were developed and thought out. Gavin is an Alpha and Kyle is an Omega they are the MC’s of this book and mates. I can recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Okay, I admit I laughed when I read the blurb for this book. You have a one-night stand that produces an Alpha shifter child but you don't know who the father is. You go go a gamer's convention so your son can meet his favorite game designer and it just happens to be the father. Come on! However, as I have said in previous reviews I love this author and this series and will follow anywhere however inplausible because I know I will get a feel good read. This one is no different. The main characters are kept apart by often unrealistic hurdles in the relationship but I love seeing how the overcome them with love and time. Suspend your disbelief, don't look for realistic plot lines or dark, deep angst and surrender to the warmth and happy ever afters in Timberwood Cove. We are also beginning to see some of my favorite tropes occur in the series. This is a second chance romance.

A drunken indiscrection results in a child.
Which leads to the discovery of shifters.
A playboy alpha who's sowed his wild oats and is ready to settle down.
Is his fate mate ready to give him a chance at happiness and forever?
It's hard work trying to make inroads in a ready made family, especially with a child old enough to express their not happy or welcoming thoughts on the idea of an unknown dad.

This is a nice addition to the series. It was nice seeing all the players from the other books, including the kids, Liam and Cole, the funny little hellions. 😉 Brock was a sweet child who just needed an alpha influence. He got that and more with Gavin and his pack. I adored Gavin from his introduction a couple of books back. Kyle was also a sweetheart, even when I was tapping my foot and waiting for him to set things right already.

I’m really enjoying this series.
