Once she saves his life, he’ll have hell to pay Riding out the apocalypse with my sexy mates in a luxurious mountain lodge sounds like a dream. But for some asinine reason, Liam, Mason, and Gabriel have adopted a hands-off policy.
Even worse, my ex hasn’t met up with us as promised. If sexual frustration doesn’t kill me, my growing anxiety over the missing Alpha male might.
The only solution is to teach my mates a scorching lesson in satisfying my needs and launch a rescue mission. Nathan may have betrayed me and broken my heart, but I won’t let him die. At least not until I’ve given him a piece of my mind…
Dia wanted to be a writer from the time she could hold a pencil. A lover of paranormal romance, reverse harem, science fiction, urban fantasy, and horror, she writes action-packed stories featuring kick-butt heroines and the alpha male heroes who fall for them.
So, freaking Nathan is back and just like that everything is forgiven? Seriously?!? I get that the break up was to save her life, but what about all his abusive behavior before that? No mention of the fact that he repeatedly compelled her to forget things they shared and even worse made Ty compel her to forget the times they shared, how much they cared for each other all because he wanted to keep her for himself!! Way to treat your best friend and your so-called chosen one - NOT!!! Or how about that he knows who her father is but has yet to tell her?
Still, I really like Vana and I love her mates Gabe, Liam and Mason Besides only one more book to go and then I can finally call it quits on this author... :)
I did not realize that this was a series & that I hadn't read the original book #.5 (Claiming the Nanny), and only had a few times that I felt lost for a bit. It did get my curiosity up to maybe read book #.5. I did like the book enough to want to continue to book 3 when it comes out. There were a few wobbles in the plot, that I felt could have been smoother, or made more sense. While Vana is an interesting character, Liam, Mason, and Gabriel are much more interesting mix of guys, and as a RH for her. I hated Nathan. I'm interested to see how this all works out in book 3.
I have not read a bad book from this author yet and this book is no exception! The great plot and character development kept me so engaged throughout the entire book that I had a very hard time putting this book down until the very last page was turned!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Just found out there was a book 0...oops, that may have made me like Nathan. Also explain a few things plot wise. Oh well, we in this now. Speaking of plot...it was a little fast moving...very insta-love...things just kinda happened they weren't super explained.
Not a fan. She just finds out she's pregnant in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and she's like, "I'm going to go save and protect a bunch of weak strangers, just because".... Right. Every single human they find is either a child or weak in some way and can't protect themselves...? And she's a freaking stripper that just found out she's a werewolf a few days ago, now she keeps trying to act like she's a bad*ss who suddenly just knows what she's doing better than her mates who have been werewolves longer than she's been alive. I don't like how she's letting her mates feel so insecure either. She tells then she's not interested in the 4th guy, changes her mind and then she's just like, I don't know who to choose any more. That's pretty crappy. Like she never says she lives them or needs them or anything to give them security when that's all they do and say to her. Feels like she's stringing them along if she can even be thinking about choosing when she was just saying she wanted them for life and would never leave them. I'm not a fan of that kind of drama.
What’s not to love with Ms. Cole’s books? Lykos, an Alpha female, rejected by her mate, and a potential horde of zombies, somewhere outside of Sanctuary’s walls.
I guess her superior strength is good enough reason to fear Tasha!
The banter between Vana, Gabriel, Liam and Mason makes for an enjoyable read as they compete for Vana’s ‘attention’. Watching Gabriel and Liam turn to mush, following their new alpha, protecting her over themselves—they created the family none of them had before.
Wow, this book was full of thrill and chills and danger and lots steamy moments. It was exciting the whole way through and full of lots of surprises. All the characters are getting to know each other MUCH better. But Havana has a big choice to make it seems. You can just tell the next book is gonna be a doozy too!
The wait for book 2 of Claiming Her Mates series was well worth it. This is a great combination of action, drama, steam, conflict, romance, apocalypse and zombies. This is very well written and has incredible excitement. I liked the emotion and twist and turns in the story line. This is an incredible addition to the series with a cliffhanger ending. I cannot wait for the next book.
She has merged a truly scary thing with an incredibly beautiful thing and given us an amazing boon.
Pretty much read in a day. Couldn't stop or put it down. Growled at the kiddos when they needed me to peoples. There's not better compliment from me than that
This book continues where book 1 left off and wow what a story! I love the characters and how they all develop and conform with what’s going on in their lives. I absolutely love Gabriel. He’s my favorite tough guy character but the others are amazing too.
Great story, good pace, entertaining and extremely engaging. Kept me up reading until finishing the entire book. Really looking forward to the next one.
Vana has survived a lot so far. Escaping zombies, surviving the Z virus and transitioning into a Lykos. Now she will have to survive the men in her life. When Nathan doesn't show up like he's supposed to her mates go to look for him. Vana can't sit around and wait when things start to turn dicey and takes off too. What they find though could change everything. And what will happen to her "lesser" mates once Nathan enters the picture again?
I'll start by saying that you don't have to read the prequel, Claiming the Nanny, in order to follow the series but you definitely should. It gives you all the background on how Havana came to meet Nathan and what transpires between them. Why even though he broke her heart in book one, she can't let go of him so easily. We also meet Ty who I'm so hoping makes an appearance again in book three b/c I love me some Ty. It broke my heart when he had to step away.
In book one we learned all about the Z virus and got introduced to Mason, Liam and Gabriel. Our grouchy yet loveable group sent to save Vana. This is also where Vana found out all about her Lykos nature and became an Alpha. So we go into book two still at Sanctuary waiting for Nathan to show up. The guys are nervous of how Nathan will react once he finds out that Vana has claimed them. With good reason too. We don't make it that far though when Nathan doesn't show up.
I don't want to give anything away. I will say that the zombies seem to be evolving and causing more problems than we originally thought. We learn a little more about the feared Alpha we will eventually have to face. We get some super sexy steamy moments with our guys. And of course we leave off with a surprise that will throw everything up in the air.
I have to say that I am extremely pleased at the range we get with these books. It's almost like there are several different stories going on but they all fit together seamlessly. It's not too busy or distracting. It's easy to follow, easy to fall in love with the characters and easy to get carried away and finish the whole book before you even realize it. This is my first series by Dia but after falling in love with it like I have, I will definitely be checking out more that she has to offer. I can't wait for book three to come out either. Whatever will they do now???
Though safe and sound in Sanctuary, Vana and her new mates leave the walls surrounding the grounds for the first time. They encounter survivors from the ski resort where Nathan was heading before the storm hit.
Needing to know if Nathan and his daughter survived, Liam and Gabriel decide to fly over the resort in the helicopter Tasha in all her craziness thought to provide in Sanctuary. The alpha female may be psychotic, but she planned for everything!
With new people around and the potential for rescuing even more, things are bound to change for the brand new Faction, but Vana is undaunted. Where Vana leads, her Faction follows.
With this book we learn more about werewolf culture and their physical and mental abilities. All of their abilities are going to be needed to survive the zombie apocalypse.
With all the action in this book, it would be easy to overlook the emotional content, but this author is good at making sure it is front and centre of the story, without letting it distract from the plot.
I hate that I’m going to have to wait for the next book in the series, but I’m sure it will be worth it. This has turned into a pretty good series.
ONE FLOORING EXPERIENCE!!! Explosive! Dia leaves nothing to chance in this intense installment that's as mind blowing as we've come to expect from this phenomenal author. A churning multitude of vexing circumstances and a slew of overwhelming surprises push those conflicting emotions to life smoothly. One fantastic storyline and explosive plot keeps spinning with so many twists and turns you're not sure which way is up. Pushing through the trials and tribulations with so much perilous drama, chilling danger and thrilling suspense hurls this baby to life delightfully. The chemistry is sizzling, intense, off the charts explosive. The characters personalities are original, intriguing and strong. Solid individuals with qualities that balance out and play off one another beautifully. The scenes are graphically detailed to give you a full understanding and realism that flows smoothly from each scenario without a hitch. Remarkable job Dia, thanks for sharing this incredible little jewel with us.
This was such a great follow up to the first book! The story itself is so original and so gripping! I love how Vana is embracing becoming a Lykos and having three mates. And she is one bad ass alpha female. In this second installment her lost love Nathan and his daughter are rescued, along with several other humans. Vana is forced to take Nathan as a mate to save his life, but he is not willing to share. She is given the ultimatum of choosing him or her three other mates. There was so much action and whew, steamy sex, that before I knew it I was at the end! I can’t wait for the next book because with Vana becoming such a dominant alpha female she will be a force to reckon with. Will she be forced to choose? Or will she have the happy family she always wanted?
Now this is what I’ve been waiting for!! The prequel was all shifter drama and and forbidden feelings. The first book was great with the zombies, action scenes and all, but then tapered out after Vana’s transition. But this book had the perfect balance of shifter drama, lovers conflict, steamy moments and serious zombie action and surprising moments. The zombie action got racketed up to awesome levels, that combined with the drama, action, steam was definitely hitting all the right buttons for me. The steamy scenes were FANTASTIC, and I mean that. I absolutely LOVED this read and cannot wait for the next book, that cliffhanger ending was perfect!
As Havana and her three mates continue to fight off the zombies, Nathan reenters into the mix. He is threatening to tear apart anyone who touches his female. As he is traveling to get to her, he is stuck in the snow storm and stranded at a hotel with zombies all around. As a zombie has attacked him and he is about to die, Havana must make the choice of whether to save him by bonding with him, with him not knowing, or let him die. As she makes her choice how will it affect her bond with her other mates and how will Nathan feel about this new arrangement?
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the second book I have read a book by Dia cole as I had to read the first book first and I really enjoyed it and was so excited to read the second book claiming her mates 2. I loved the story as it keeps you wanting to read the next chapter and then the next lol. and the charters are great especially Vana who has just come into her powers as a Lykos and will do anything to protect everyone and she is all so a badass love her character. The book has lots of action and the relationship with her mates well what can I say but the sexy scenes speak for themselves cant wait to see what happens in the next book I really enjoyed reading this book.
Very satisfying sequel with more character development than book 1. I enjoy the dynamics of the males and with Nathan being thrown in it turns everyone upside down. There are insecurities, jealousies and power plays in motion. It's refreshing to see the harem men have insecurities. Too often in RH everything and everyone falls into place with very little resistance. Not the case here. Although, Miss Cole is gonna have to make Nathan really grovel in book 3. Not sure I enjoy his high handedness - even if it makes for good character development. Lol.
