Boyfriend (n.) 1) A frequent or regular male companion with whom one has a romantic or sexual relationship. 2) A myth. A legend. Impossible to find. According to her eighty-year-old neighbor, Lizzie Donovan is looking for Mr. Right in all the wrong places. Though it’s made great fodder for her blog, Lizzie is finally tired of swiping left and awful blind dates, and she’s ready to take Mrs. Skinner’s advice and find love the old-fashioned way. Goodbye dating app, hello grocery store, book store, dog park, and wherever else she might be able to meet a good man. And she really has nothing to lose. Not only will she be entertained along the way, but even if she ends up alone, she’ll always have her longtime best friend, Aiden, by her side. Friend zone (n.) 1) A situation in which a friendship exists between two people, one of whom has an unreciprocated romantic or sexual interest in the other. 2) Location of Aiden Wallace. According to his eighty-year-old neighbor, Aiden Wallace has been friend zoned. And that’s mostly his fault because instead of opening his eyes and seeing what was right in front of him, Aiden has spent the last several years enjoying the single life. But things have changed—he has changed—and now he needs his best friend, Lizzie, to stop shoving him into the friend zone so he can work at winning her heart. Until then, he’s stuck watching her string of dating disasters and wishing she’d believe him when he tells her he’s the one.
OH MY GOD! I finally finish. Now I want to rip the memory of this book from my memory. I do not like it at all. So bad! Everything is just too cheesy. No plot/ drama. I want to see more relationship development between the characters. I already forget the name of the characters.
Everything is being solved so fast without conflict. This is a book about HEA and being done in a very cheesy way.
Well, that was absolutely adorable! It’s a friends to lovers standalone romance. I’ve read quite a few K.L. Grayson books, and this one felt different. Definitely lighter and less emotional and I personally needed that at the moment. It’s the perfect read for a quick escape.
Aiden and Lizzie have been friends for almost two decades. Lizzie has been on so many horrible dates, she has started The Boyfriend Blog. All of her dates were the stuff of nightmares, yet freaking hilarious to read about! But, every night, she comes back to complain to and hang out with Aiden. They live just down the hall from each other, and help take care of their elderly neighbor, Edna, who is an absolute delight! Aiden has changed in recent years and has realized Lizzie is it for him. Unfortunately, a weird miscommunication in the past has resulted in them not being together. With the help their matchmaking neighbor and The Boyfriend Blog, Aiden and Lizzie might finally get it together.
There is literally nothing not to like about this book. Great characters, perfect pace, and an excellent storyline made this super sweet friends to lovers romance a win from me!
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I just adored this book. It is a quick, fun and sweet friends to lovers romance. It is one of those books that will make you feels good.
Aidan and Lizzie hav been best friend since they met when they were six years old. They are up next door to each other and even now as adults they still live in the same apartment building across the hall from each other. Lizzie has been having a hard time with dating lately. Every date she goes on seems to end bad. All of her dates have gone wrong for reasons that will just make you scratch your head....lol. After every date her best friend is there for moral support with a carton of ice cream and a chick flick ready to be watched. But Aidan wants more, he wants out of the friend zone. He has watched her go on one bad date to the next and he knows that she deserves so much more than that. He knows that he is the one and he will do everything he can to make her see that. But for Lizzie, she is not giving in so easily. Sotmehing happened in the past that hurt her and for that Ron she is afraid to cross that line with Aidan. But he is not giving up. Will he make her see how much they are meant to be together?
I loved tis story so much. For one I loved the back and forth banter between Aidan and Lizzie. Whether it was just as friends or lovers, these always made me smile. They just had that connection where they can laugh at each other, know what the other is feeling and just feel safe an comfortable with each other. Seeing them slowly test the waters of a relationship was so fun and amazing to watch. They were hot together and fun. It was a feel good love story that I could not get enough of.
I especially loved the quotes in the beginning of the chapters. Ms. Grayson knows how to write fun and quirky, and those quotes prove that. Their relationship with Edna was so special and was a great addition to this story. If you love a friends to lovers romance, between a fun and sassy heroine and a sexy, sweet and caring hero, then this book is for you!!
I absolutely adored this perfect friends-to-lovers rom com by K.L. Grayson. Everything about it was SO SWEET!
Lizzie is sick of failed set ups, bad blind dates and has had enough of dating apps. She creates a blog called "The Boyfriend Blog" and has over 220,000 followers to journal all her experiences. Even though these dates were horrible you will be laughing out loud at the ridiculousness of some of these men and what Lizzie has had to put up with.
Aiden is Lizzie's best friend and neighbour. They are attached at the hip and do everything together. Before finally admitting their romantic feelings for each other you see a beautiful friendship between these two!
Right from the start of the book I was emmersed in the story and characters. I could not put it down. It has the perfect mix of humor and heart and is packed full of swoony, steamy scenes.
Neighbour, Edna added so much to the story. Her advice and matchmaking was adorable. I also adored both Aiden and Lizzie's families. Everyone was rooting from them as soon as they announce their relationship. So much love and support!
This was 100% a 5 star read for me. Although slightly predictible there is absolutely nothing that I didn't like about it and the ending left my heart full of happiness.
Thank you to K.L. Grayson & Social Butterfly PR for proving me with an advanced reader copy in exchange of an honest review.
I think I'm just going to say what it didn't work for me about this book - when you want to write a book and you use childhood best friends to lovers, you have to be careful about things and feelings not getting too rushed and that a the reason why I didn't like the book, since the first chapter we see that they're already in love, Liz has some trust issues about him being in a serious relationship and basically that's the whole plot of the book, there's barely a little development of the relationship. - the reason why they can't be together is kinda stupid and it has so much miscommunication - I couldn't connect with the characters at all
however, I did like some side characters and the whole blog plot was funny sometimes

The boyfriend blog is a stand-alone novel written by. The story follows Aiden and Lizzie who are best friends and are about to become more.
I would have liked the novel more if I didn't have such a strong dislike for the heroine. I couldn't stand her after a while. When she said that Aiden had done something in the past to make her not want to become something more than friends with him I immediately thought that it would be something silly and she would have blown it out of proportion. Was I right? You can find out if/when you read the book. Lizzie has the tendency to overreact to every single situation. When Aiden explained what drove him to act as he did in the past, I was expecting her to understand but she got very angry instead. I have said it for some heroines and now I will say it for Aiden too. You took her back way too easily man. Where is the groove? People and their feelings.... *shakes head*. When she said that he should have known even drunk that it wasn't Emily (her twin) the one standing in front of him because she was his best for so long I kinda lost it and I knew I couldn't jump on the liking Lizzie train ever again. Two of my friends are twins and still, on a rare occasion their parents mix them up. It can happen even to the best of us.
I was wishing that Aiden would find someone else even for a little while, just to get to Lizzie's face. Most of the book is him chasing her and I wanted to see the tables reversed even for a little while. It was annoying seeing her going to dates with other men, while he was just pinning for her and was having her turning him down at every chance he had.
The book could have been better in my opinion, but it wasn't bad. I did finish it after all. I just disliked the heroine, so while I wouldn't recommend the book, I also wouldn't not recommend it.
K.L Grayson has delivered an amazing read! The Boyfriend Blog is a fun, sweet, quick read. Grayson puts a fun spin on online dating.
This book!! As someone who has had to stick their toe back into the dating world I found this book to be hilarious and kind of accurate. Dating is hard!! I love that Lizzie Donovan decides to document her experience in online dating in her blog. You honestly never actually know what you'll get when you decide to meet someone from online. Aiden Wallace is the man next door and Mr. Right now. He's not end game, long term. Or maybe he is?
I absolutely adored Aiden and Lizzie as individuals and together. Their friendship started so many years ago before they even realized it. The memories they have will last a lifetime, and will be amazing stories to tell their kids and grandkids.
The Boyfriend Blog is an amazing friends to lovers romance. Grayson was able to add just the right amount of steaminess, fun, and angst. I love the dynamic that them being best friends brought to this book.
The Boyfriend Blog was the perfect rom-com! I didn't realize I needed this book until I read it! Grayson delivers not only amazing main characters but the perfect set of side characters to match them! The plot, the writing, everything was amazing and created this fantastic, fun read! If you like rom-coms you need this book!
K L Grayson is a relatively new author to me. I really enjoy her style of writing which had me riveted from the first to the last chapter.
According to her neighbour Mrs Skinner, Lizzie Donovan is looking for Mr. Right in all the wrong places. Deciding yo take her advice and get rid of the dating apps she has been using, Lizzie embarks on her search. Aiden Wallace has finally opened his eyes and seen who has been right in in front of him for the last 20 years or so. Finally over playing the field, he wants to settle down, now all he needs to do is convince his best friend Lizzie to take a chance on him.
I loved the friendship between Lizzie and Aiden, it is strong and true. The fact that they both care for their elderly neighbour Edna, just added another layer to the story. Edna is such a great character and I loved her.
A friends to lovers story that was heartwarming and funny as Aiden is forced to watch Lizzie go on bad dates time and again. An entertaining read that will draw you in with characters you cannot help but fall for.
I loved this friends to lovers romance so much that I’m still smiling. It’s a quick and easy read that flowed so smoothly that before I knew it I was finished. At first, it started out funny and light but I enjoyed the addition of the deeper more emotional story as it was introduced.
The characters are funny, sweet, and a perfect match, with amazing chemistry. Aiden and Lizzie are the best of friends since they were kids, he’s so supportive of her, always there when she needs a shoulder. It’s funny how everyone else could see it before they finally admitted it. It felt like both of them were still a little insecure in the relationship for most of the book. So I thought it was perfect that Lizzie got her opportunity to support him even if it took her a little push to do it, I think it gave them both the chance to fully commit. I absolutely love the supporting characters especially Edna, she’s played such a big part in their story.
This is my first book by K.L. Grayson and I will definitely be reading more. If you’re looking for something fun and light, this one should be on your list.
This friends to lovers romance had me smiling nonstop and left me giddy.
Aiden and Lizzie have been friends since they were kids. No matter what, they’re always there for each other. Their friendship is so sweet, fun and one would say they’re the perfect match. Everyone else sees what is so blatantly clear and right in front of Lizzie and Aiden’s face. And so instead of Lizzie continuing documenting the dates she goes on on the blog she started—aptly named, The Boyfriend Blog in search of the perfect boyfriend; maybe he’s always been right under her nose.
I really liked the dynamic between Aiden and Lizzie. I loved their friendship first and then their romantic relationship after they admitted their feelings for one another. They really were quite the match.
The Boyfriend Blog was the perfect mix of humor and heart and is packed with amazing chemistry. And the supporting characters were also enjoyable, especially Edna, she was a hoot. All in all this friends to lovers romance was an absolute win for me.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book*
KL Grayson once again wows with The Boyfriend Blog! A sweet, sexy, steamy, with perfect sprinkles of humor romance that kept me between giggles and swoons and loving every minute of it.
Oh my gosh this book was hilariously adorable! I knew dating was hard, but I didn’t know it could be this funny and sweet. Aiden and Lizzie we’re freaking adorable themselves! Individually and as a couple they were just such cute and relatable characters. I loved watching them make their way from friendship to more. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and K.L. Grayson knocked if out of the park with perfect swoony moments that filled my tummy with butterflies and laugh-out-loud moments that, well, actually made me laugh out loud!
The Boyfriend Blog was fantastic! This was a lighter side of K.L. Grayson’s writing with amazing characters, an adorable storyline, and great writing. I loved it. 5 stars.
Aiden and Lizzie have been best friends forever! I just love stories where the couple has all the history and memories. Lizzie is having a hard time with relationship and dating, so to working it out in her head, she started a blog where she talks about her feelings and dates. The dates had me giggling, so much entertainment. Aiden is having a hard time seeing his best friend/love of his life dating other men. He wants her to realize how perfect they are for each other so he's been dropping hints. They are adorable together. I loved reading his feelings and love for her.. The supporting characters were fun and adorable. I really enjoyed this best friends to lovers story.
A cute and sweet friends to lovers romance. This is Lizzie and Aiden's story. They have been friends since they were little kids and when they got older, they each seperately realized they liked the other but didn't know how to tell the other. It's a sweet, funny, romantic yet with a comedic twist romance. It has the heartwarming moments, the feels touches and some steamy moments yet its just a cute read that will have you smiling as you read. I liked Lizzie and Aiden's story and them as friends then them as a couple. Good story!
A fun and sweet friends to lovers storyline. I enjoyed the banter between Lizzie and Aiden. Their chemistry is sizzling. The supporting characters added to this story. Definitely worth the read.
The headlines of each chapter were very good and made me laugh, a few examples (and I'm not making spoilers with that): "Telling a woman to calm down works about as well as baptizing a cat." "Love is like a fart, if you have to force it, it’s probably shit." "Congratulations on the birth of your baby. My condolences to your vagina at this difficult time," jajajajajajajaja. A fun read, with love and helps you lighten up the heaviness of other books because of the emotional content they have
This was an adorable friends to lovers story. I enjoyed and loved the characters, the humor and I couldn't put it down. It was my first read of Grayson ando won't be my last.
The Boyfriend Blog is a super cute, friends-to-lovers romance. It is a reflection of the world we live in today, focusing on the new way to meet and date. Most of us know someone who’s tried social media and dating apps and maybe even know people who’ve found their happily ever after. If you haven’t had to wade into the dating waters since the world of meeting people has been turned on it’s head with a multitude of online options, then perhaps you have no idea of the terrors that await.
KL Grayson gives us a humorous look and the possible pitfalls of blind dates. Whether you’ve been set up by well-meaning friends or family, or whether you’ve swiped left or right on your own, there is no telling what awaits you when you arrive at your mutually agreed upon location. It helps if you are able to take life in stride, not sweat the small stuff, and learn to laugh and have fun.
Lizzie Donovan has decided to search out her soul mate and document it in a blog. Her actual soul mate might live right next door and she might have know him since she was six years old, but he isn’t interested, or is he. Aiden Wallace may have been Mr. Right Now for a while, but something finally clicked and he is ready to be Mr. Right for Lizzie, if only she would give him a chance.
The love story of Lizzie and Aiden started when they were six and they have been making memories to tell their grandchildren ever since, they just didn’t know it at the time. The Boyfriend Blog is a sweet, sexy, and fun read with just a tad of frustration and angst to make you grit your teeth and roll your eyes. Lizzie sure can be stubborn, but Aiden knows she is worth the wait. I loved these characters, most of the time. Lizzie got on my nerves a few times but then again, I know a thing or too about being a stubborn female.
This story also has some very lovable side characters, the elderly neighbor, Edna, being one of them. I have recently come to notice that I love it when young lovers get the benefit of friendship, advice, and possibly meddling from older characters. They have so much experience to impart and give an element of sentimental tradition to the story. If it weren’t for Edna, Lizzie may have taken a while longer to, as Aiden so elegantly put it, get her head out of her @$$.
I love epilogues – they can make or break a story for me. I'm a sucker for them and I search the table of contents prior to reading to see if one is included. If there’s a happy ending, then I want to have a few moments to bask in the happiness; spend some heartfelt moments with the characters that I just escaped reality with. As epilogues go, KL Grayson hit it out of the park! OMG! All the loose ends tied up with pink and blue bows and sentimental gestures worthy of the very best bbf’s. Actually, my absolute favourite part of the story is the last blog post and all the comments. So funny! I will keep Aiden and Lizzie in my heart for a while. Their love story touched my heart and made me believe that soul mates are out there, you just have to open your eyes to the possibilities.
The Boyfriend Blog is the perfect read if you're looking for a fast and fun read. Our main character Lizzie hasn't had the greatest luck with dating. She has a blog keeping track of her experiences and this leads to some hilarious moments. Some of her dates in the first few chapters had me laughing out loud. In the end though, this is a friends to lovers story that will make your heart smile.
Lizzie is a fun character. She's a teacher and love what she does. She wants to date, but it hasn't been easy for her. What I think I loved about her is that she could laugh about the dates in the end. She wants a relationship, but she isn't too desperate if that makes any sense. Lizzie is a caring person and lovers her next door neighbor Edna (who was such a fun character to read about).
Aiden is Lizzie's best friend and definitely the nice guy in many ways, even if he wasn't always like that. He's always there for Lizzie when dates go wrong. I love that he designs games as well, that sounds like such an interesting job. What I loved most about Aiden is that he didn't really hide his feelings for Lizzie. He keeps asking her out from the start. He tries really hard to get her to notice him and definitely takes extreme measures to do so.
Even though I really enjoyed this story, there were a few things that bugged me. It's clear from the beginning that Aiden and Lizzie will end up together, but for me it happens too soon in the story. I kind of miss the buildup to everything. It's there, but not enough for me. Because this happens so early on, I felt that there was some drama that just wasn't needed. This actually made me dislike Lizzie for a bit. I understood her feelings, but I think she was rather dramatic. It felt a bit forced, like some drama was needed with them ending together so early on.
All in all, I really did enjoy their love story and the humor in this book. Their family and neighbor give this book just a bit more fun and I wouldn't mind reading more about them. I do wish we got a few more blog posts though, because that really was my favorite part of the story. They were really funny and I enjoyed reading them. I will definitely read more from this author in the future!
Lizzie has had her gorgeous neighbor/best friend in the friend zone for years, ever since he handed her heart back to her, broken badly. You see, he is was a big player, and his rejection hurt. But he's changed his ways and he's wanted out of the zone for awhile now. It kills him every time she comes over and complains about her latest disastrous date. Can he convince her to give him a chance to prove how good they can be if they step over that invisible line of friendship?
Friends to lovers is definitely my jam, and I'm always on the lookout for good ones. Well I found one that's more than good, it's excellent. The Boyfriend Blog is sweet, sexy, and Aiden and Lizzie are the cutest, most adorable friends to more couple that's graced my Kindle in a long time. Oh, and the secondary cast is just as great as our couple - Aiden's brother, Calvin, and Edna, the hilarious senior who loves both Lizzie and Aiden, round out this stellar romance and provide lots of laughs and love for the two when they're in need of advice, comfort, and more than one nudge in the right direction.
So cute! I easily read this book in the car on a road trip with the family. It is entertaining , engaging and very sweet. Aiden and Lizzie have been best friends since they were kids, and now they are neighbors. A few years ago, Lizzie started blogging about her hunt for the perfect boyfriend on The Boyfriend Blog. And she’s dated some real winners! (I could totally relate! Been there, done that!)
Aiden, meanwhile, was a bit of a player in college, but hasn’t dated since he realized his feelings for Liz changed. Or strengthened, since they were always there. He really puts in a lot of effort to get Lizzie to take a chance on him.... and gets a few ideas when he stumbles across her blog. But when Lizzie realizes that Aiden knows about her blog, will she feel like it wasn’t fate that pushed them together after all?
I really liked the dynamic between the two. There is a really nice friendship between them first, and then their romantic relationship blooms from that. It didn’t feel pushed upon me because KL Grayson gives us lots on their friendship first. The incident that happened in college that neither of them ever spoke about (for very different reasons) had to do with a huge misunderstanding and seemed plausible enough that I found it believable that Lizzie would be so hesitant to risk her friendship with Aiden. And Edna and the old ladies at the Senior Center are a hoot!
This was a pretty perfect best friends romance.
Side note: I was dying when Aiden started singing the prepositions because he remembered the tune from grade school. Same! 30+ years later, I still know them all!
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.
I liked the premise of this and whole boyfriend blog. Aside from the blog the main leads Liz and Aiden are best friends and as close as can be. Their families are tight too. Aiden has issues with his mom and that's something that resolves later on. Aiden and Liz have hidden feelings for one another that are mixed up. Liz has been unsuccessful dating and Aiden's been supportive but he likes her more than friends. The main issue is Liz had a hidden hurt stemming from way back with Aiden.
This whole miscommunication is the problem why they didn't get together. When they get it together they work out nicely. They're quite happy together and seemed smooth sailing. That drags on quite a bit while there's a conflict about Aiden's promotion that was hanging for a while. I didn't quite see why it had to blow up so late in the story. But I get this was mostly about them transitioning from friends to more.
Although this had cute moments and a nice family moments. Also some some heated moments. I just felt like I wanted more. That ending felt a tad rushed with the conflict which is a miscommunication again easily solved. To me this was light and easy reading the last bit is sweet though. A good reprieve if you've read something heavy. It's got the same feel as K.L. Grayson's other books I've read.
If you love romantic comedy style books then you will love The Boyfriend Blog’ by K.L. Grayson.
The story is of Lizzie, a young singleton looking for love amongst a string of bad dates. Her dating history is horrendous, and the stories she can tell are so outrageous that she compiled them all into an online blog.
Despite how disheartened she is over her unsuccessful dates, Lizzie always takes comfort in being able to show up at her best friend Aiden’s house, where she can have a bitch and a moan and he can make her feel better. But little does Lizzie know that Aiden doesn’t quite feel comfortable remaining in the Friend Zone any longer, but will he have the guts to make his move, and at what cost?
This book was entertaining, addictive and I read it all in one sitting. I wished that the blog posts and bad dates went on a little longer, as they were really humorous and were a really good addition to an already well thought out story.
I like the interaction between the characters and their friends, it felt real and original, and I could imagine it all playing out. Aiden is a good guy, he was dreamy and I loved how he was always there for Lizzie no matter what.
Overall a feel good romance that will have you hooked. Perfect for all romance lovers.
The Boyfriend Blog is a perfect, sweet, friends to lovers romance. I completely fell in love with Lizzie and Aiden.
Lizzie has been on a ton of horrible dates, so why not create a blog chronicling all those experiences. They may have been horrible, but they were also completely hilarious and will have you dying of laughter. Aiden has been Lizzie’s best friend for years and years, her go to after a bad date. Strictly placed in the friend zone, even though he realized she was hit for him. Enter, their matchmaking neighbor Edna. Will she able to help these two friends that they are perfect for each other?
I loved Lizzie and Aiden’s friendship so much, but when as things started to change for them I fell in love their romantic relationship. Plus, Edna. I just wanted to hang out with her! Throw in Aiden’s ultra swoony moments and I am completely sold on this story!
This was the perfect book to read. It is fairly fast paced and sweet friends to lovers romance. If you’re looking for a romance on the lighter side and not packing full of emotions this is a MUST READ.
If there is a bad date to had then you can bet that Lizzie has experienced it and much worse. She decides that if she has had to endure it than others should learn from it and that is why she created a blog detailing her experiences. The one thing she does look forward to after a horrendous experience is spending time with her best friend Aiden even if she secretly wishes he would see her as more than a friend.
Lizzie has been Aiden’s best friend since they were children and they share everything. The one time she tried to evolve their friendship into something more he panicked and he has regretted it ever since. He wants to be Lizzie’s soulmate as well as her best friend and maybe with the help of their neighbor Edna and her advice he might just get everything he has always wanted.
Fun and flirty the relationship between Lizzie and Aiden was something special to watch. They both want the same thing but getting there is where the challenge truly lays and having Edna with her opinions to guide them was the icing on the cake.
This book has been special to me..I was able to connect to Lizzie. If I had to write a book on my experience on love I would have done that..
The Boyfriend Blog by K.L. Grayson was such a fun and delightful read! I just loved it! A friends to lovers story that was light, enjoyable and charming. Lizzie and Aiden have been friends for what seems like forever. She is ready for Mr. Right, but according to her adorable and charming older neighbor, she has been looking in all the wrong places. So, she begins to look for new ways to find that elusive Mr. Right and continues to share her experiences on her boyfriend blog.
Aiden knows he was friend zoned a while back, but he also knows Lizzie is the one for him. He is tired of watching her go through one failed date after another. But how does he show her he is the one for her and make her believe it? I love their friendship and watching them fall was fun and entertaining! And their neighbor was a hoot! I loved The Boyfriend Blog by K.L. Grayson. This is a must-read for sure!
The Boyfriend Blog was right up my alley! I love a good friends-to-lovers story, and this new book from KL Grayson fit that perfectly!
Aiden and Lizzie have been friends forever. They live next to each other and do everything together. And Aiden has sat on the sidelines watching Lizzie date. And date. And date some more. And he's there after every date with coping supplies (you know, ice cream and such). But it's getting old for him, and he's determined to convince Lizzie that they're meant for each other.
I absolutely loved Aiden!! I loved how he worked so hard for Lizzie; I think that's ultimately what most women want. And while I loved Lizzie- and understood her hesitancy about Aiden's former lifestyle choices- I do wish that she had had enough trust in him sooner. But who stole the show? Seriously, it was Edna. There's nothing quite like an elderly woman who tells it like it is!
And let me tell you, I loved the ending!! KL Grayson has a hit on her hands!!
