Mor has spent her entire life trying to make her miserable family happy until a chance conversation while working in her brother's coffee shop costs Mor her job and home in one go. Luckily, the man who instigated the upheaval of her life offers her a place to fall.
Moving in with four sexy guys AND getting out from under her loathsome family?
Hell yes!
The guys all thought they were saving a damsel in distress. No one expected her to save them right back.
This book contains four hot Fae men and the girl who doesn't have to choose! This book contains adult content and is intended for readers 18+.
The author needs to decide wether she wants a strong-willed kick ass heroine, or a weak-willed one. Because this version of; "my life sucks, everything is going wrong", "i'm an independent woman", it's all my fault", "no one messes with me or mine", " i can't do this". One minute she's whining about how her life sucks, how every bad thing is her fault, the next she's standing up to powerful fae people like they're ants. It just wasn't believable.
The amount of times she went; "it's my fault" and then switched to "independent fierce woman", back to "it's my fault/i can't do this". Was obnoxious. Decide how you want her personality to be, at this point she's just a pms'ing nutcase.
Some parts were hardly believable; meet a guy, 10 seconds later tell him your sob story life, (because he asked), get fired because he stands up for you, move in with him ans his 3 buddies the next day. No warning bells went off in her head.. maybe a fleeting thought, axe murdere, but then her brain went "naaah, is all good fam".
Her emotional outbursts gets tiring real fast. She doesn't act like a 25 year old. Too much of; attack, drama/outburst, happy again, attack drama/outburst, happy again, attack, drama/outburst, happy again.. not evenly spaced out throughout the book, but one right after the other. Just not believable.
Felt like the book was written more like, i don't know, a day dream? A fantasy? I know that's what books are, but it just wasn't properly executed. And the dialogue, don't get me started on that cringefest...
The plottwist at the end? I mean, the series is literally called t"The Lost Royal"... So we kind of know from the beginning. Oh she's adopted? Yeah yeah, shes a royal. Faes? Okay, a royal fae. There's a royal heir missing? Gee, i wonder who/where they are... Everything was so obvious.
Want killer plottwist? Not this book On the edge storytelling? Not this book either Epic worldbuilding? Nope Can't put it down story? Yeah, nope.
I don't write reviews a lot. One of my friends say i'm too brutal if i don't like a book. But this is me being nice about it. I'm trying to say, i didn't like the book, and i'm trying to tell why i didn't.... In a nice.... Ish.... Way...!
This is an RH, and while not bad per se it is VERY formulaic. One bad boy whose been hurt with a ♥ of gold underneath it all ✔, one shy boy✔,one posh boy ✔,etc. Also, the cheese factor, especially, in the beginning of the book is very high, like full on Jungle Cruise joke level cheese. Fine for what it is, but nothing special.
It had to be the very last book in my 2019 reading challenge to make it as difficult as it can be to complete this in time. Man this book tested me, I had to get in a zone to finish it off. Nowhere does it give even minuscule substance to push this anything beyond 1 star.
This book reads as if someone was giving me a draft of what's the book about than an actual story. Where's the plot at? I had absolutely nothing to create any interest as a reader. World building? Nonexistent with only one brief scene in the Fae realm. We are stuck in the boring ass human world locations that won't move beyond doing mundane things like repairing cars or having breakfast/lunch/whatever. There is no immersive feeling of being among a bunch of faes and fae magic.
The characters are so ridiculously fake, I mean I know this is fiction but the people here were such caricatures that you can't take it seriously. It all starts off with the heroine just waltzing out with a dude she just met to move in with him and his brothers. Any characters that's supposed to be bad is so obviously bad saying/doing things in a completely exaggerated way that just makes dialogues weak and awkward AF.
The romance was so bland, there is nothing between the characters beyond what they say it's supposed to be. There is no depth, no variation, no development. Just nothing beyond insta-feeling. All of the guys blend into each other because they have no characterization, an accent or being shy is not a trait.
So there are barely fleshed out characters that have the most stifled and boring conversations in a world built that uses Fae more as a decorative thing rather than something to enrich a story that has no structure. I literally get nothing to make this even an average read.
Oh my goodness! This book gripped me from the first few sentences. I could barely put it down!! I’m in love! This reverse harem story line is off to a great start. While it’s more of a slow burn, it’s absolutely necessary for the story. I expect things will amp up in future books. Mor’s harem is absolutely drool worthy!! Mor has been through so much already, the girl is tough as nails! Her guys could not have picked a better mate!
Oy. That one tested my nerves. I seriously have to work on my abilities to ditch books more often, as soon as I realize they are shit. I have gotten better, but obviously still aren‘t at the place I should be.
Where to start? I don‘t even wanna go too in-depth, because I am kinda glad when I am rid of the book. I really don‘t wanna be mean, but seriously sometimes I just don‘t get what authors are thinking.
The „plot“ was utterly ridiculous, super boring and very unoriginal. Personally I find insta-family even creepier than insta-love, but that is a simple personal preference. Another factor that comes with insta-thingies: authors don‘t have to put work in relationship building. At all obviously. One would think, if they have that task off their minds, anything else could be build. Like well written characters? Obviously not. While the men are basically all one and the same person, with a little different background stories, the heroine drove me nuts. She was written so inconsistent and made huge jumps between „ I am woman, hear me roar“ or squeak, since she never stopped being a mouse to „woe me, I am a whittle pwincess and too afraid to got alone to the toilette“. The characters acted more like teens than 24 and sure as hell not over hundred over years old.
One dimensional villains, no real red string, no writing flow - it was just exhausting.
Really enjoyed this book the story line was good but she was very wingie when it came to accepting help from the guys which turned me off a little. But overall a good book.
SO WHEN I FINISHED THIS BOOK I WAS LIKE HOLY FUCK WHAT DID I JUST READ.
SO FIRST: I have to say the characters and their descriptions are the best. The author desrcibed them perfectly from the way they look to the way they interact with the other characters.
SECOND: I love the interaction and the character development between all the characters. Mor is one of my favorite because she is a badass bitch who doesn't let any take advantage of her. I live the relationship she has between Max, Atreyu, Sebastian, and Ben. It is so sweet. Every character has their own personality in the story it's just so good.
FINALLY: FUCK FUCK FUCKITY FUCK FUCK. The book was amazing. I just love it to bits and pieces. The book itself just sucks you right in from the first word. It is a truely amazing book to read.
OH YAH A LITTLE SIDE NOTE FOR EVA. WHAT THE FUCK IS WITH THE ENDING. IT JUST FUCKED ME UP REAL GOOD 😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍

A debut novel that will have you coming back again and again, and not just for the juicy bits. Mor and her tribe of Fae men; Ben, Atreyu, Sebastian and Max, will steal your heart and have your toes curling. Along with an antagonist you'll want to impale yourself Eva Blackwing has written an amazing World for you to fall in love with.
Oh WOW! This book had me hooked from the first few pages. I could barely put it down!! I’m in love! This story line is off to a great start. While it’s more of a slow burn. Mor has been through so much already, she is a badass!! Can't wait for book 2 I truly recomend this book!!
This is probably the most poorly written book I have ever read. There were so many inconsistencies with the main character and the plot was so obvious. Now, I still listened to the entire thing and sent my bestie updates as I listened, but it was not good. I enjoyed my outrage more than I did the book. This book was so predictable. And inconsistent. I did not enjoy it. It irritated me immensely. I will be listening to book 2 because I will enjoy being irritated at it.
There were some aspects of this book I really enjoyed and some I didn't. This had some of my favorite tropes such as the abused girl is found and cherished by a group of guys and normal girl finds out she is supernatural. I also enjoyed that this was about fae. What I didn't prefer was the pacing, Mor (the MC) and that most of the action scenes lacked intensity and therefore felt low stakes though the situations were definitely high stakes. Also,I found it hard at times to stay immersed in the book and would put it down. However, not long afterwards I would be thinking about it wondering what was going to happen next. Any book that makes me curious enough to keep reading is a success in my opinion. I will most likely start the second book because I want to know what happens next.
I can see where some people would have issues with this book. But with series, I personally never put too much hope in the first book. Generally, I believe the first book is just a bunch of building and introduction. The first book is supposed to tell get us hooked on the characters and the world and introduce us to the authors writing style. So, with all of that said. I do give this a strong three stars. Leaning on the hopes that the second book in the series will be much stronger since the characters have now been introduced and we all now know who Mor truly is. So hopefully she won't keep slipping back into the poor me mindset. Which I mean she does have every damn right to every once in a while. I mean you go through that life and see if you don't. Anyway, onto the second book of the series...
Do not waste your time. This read like a draft. The plot development needs major work. It is written in such a way that it makes me ask, does the author think her readers are dumb? The series is called Lost Royal... you connect the dots.
The MC is juvenile, and her emotions are overly dramatized. Do not get me started on the representation of the legal process and the blatant disregard for fact-checking. I am a Legal Assistant this pissed me off. There are major issues with our legal process, you do not need to make things up to have an issue. Not to mention the unnecessary sexual assault that the MC experiences daring all of this. It did nothing for the plot or the character. While all of this is happening let's just ignoring that her men could have saved her at any point. It is called Paranormal for a reason. If you have characters with magic fucking show it.
I’m gonna be brutally honest. As this story has so much potential but the writing and story telling is lacking and feels rushed but also in some ways that it’s coming from somebody with not much experience with writing. It’s a shame really as I really wanted to like this story. Only knocked the rating stars down by one as I still believe the plot and what the story is based on deserves it.
I came about this book in one of the Facebook groups I’m in and there was some good comments about this read so wanted to give it a go.
As you can see on the reviews with this book it’s mixed. So if your like me give it a try. You might enjoy it a lot better than others. You may agree with me or some of the other reviews. I guess it’s a mixed feeling read and I’m debating if it’s worth carrying on the series but please don’t that let you stop from giving it ago.
It's a good story but there's a a few things that I think need work or are not my preference. It needs editing, it's readable but there are spelling and grammar mistakes as well as wrong words used (maybe the words are auto correct? Because they make no sense.) Personal issues with it - written in 3rd person - this isn't my favourite style as I feel like I'm back in school reading a story book, much prefer 1st person. Single POV - this is fine but coupled with the 3rd person just makes it a bit bland. Looks like 2nd book is more POVs but potentially still 3rd person. Mor - she is not a likable FMC, she is not strong she's a big cry baby who breaks down constantly!
What is it with these books?! Every UF book I’ve picked up on KU recently has had a cliffhanger ending - and it’s driving me nuts! This was a great introduction to a fast paced and quirky series. The characters were interesting, the plot was fast paced and action packed, plus it’s always a good time when you add high fae and long lost royalty.
I loved Mo discovering herself, and learning about her new roommates, while this ulterior motive plot unfurled slowly in the background. The guys are charming without crossing the line into smarmy or sleezy, and Trisha is just a button of calm in the chaos that Mo’s life has become.
This book was formulaic in the extreme, with almost nothing to set it apart from the hundreds of others that share a similar plot. There were grammar issues on almost every page, missing words, pronouns mixed up, etc. The world building was limited to a single info dump rather than actual storytelling. There was no character development and no real relationship building. Honestly, reading this was a waste of time.
This was a great start to a new series. From the first page until the last I was hooked. The only reason I didn’t give this book all five stars is because I wanted Mor to be a bit more emotionally stable. I understand why she isn’t and for the most part, she is badass.... but I would have liked her to be a complete badass all the time. But for character development and all that.... I understand.
Honestly the worst audiobook narrator I’ve heard. Poor accents and constantly got names wrong, which wasn’t at all confusing. The writing was very juvenile-excessively repeating the same words or phrases multiple times in the same paragraph. Please find an editor. But I actually really liked the story and characters 🤷🏼♀️ hopefully the writing is better in the next two books. Or maybe it won’t be. I’m invested so I’ll probably suffer through it anyway 🤡
This story's surprise was given away by the title of the series. Of course the reader was just waiting for her grand reveal. The first half is boring and quite juvenile and it took a bit of patience to get to the better parts. It perked up towards the end enough to inspire reading the next in series. There are several punctuation errors and misused words. Hopefully the story will mature as it goes on.
Definitely a good start to the series! Abusive parents and family, check . Adopted check. Suppression check. Mysteries double checked! Now our gal needs to solidify her mating then put s butt kicking on the joker that wanted to buy her, her uterus, who slaughtered her family, stole their magic. Yeap now we need book 2!
Thus was decent story line, the premise was really great. The flow was a bit off for me. Def the start to some super steamy happenings. I think 1st person would ahve been a better telling, and maybe even some here and there from the guys point of view. Overall, an enjoyable book
Plot is good. Execution was poor. There was so much wrong with the Execution. I stopped listening to the audiobook thinking that it was the voice over but no it was the book. I wanted to love it. The idea was there but the insta love and short timelone and not cut scenes were just awful.
I thought this book looked “okay” so started reading it to while away some time but was very pleasantly surprised… It was freaking amazing!! So good that I stayed up until 4am reading it because I could not put it down. Now I must go read the next book because I Need to know what happens next.
Like the premises but the book fell short. Not only does the MC flip back and forth between being fierce and independent to a crying wimp, but her family's actions were just to far fetched. I get there needs to be danger and intrigue but it just wasn't believable.
Wow! I really loved this book! I honestly could not put it down. I adore all of the amazing characters and the storyline is fantastic. I am very much looking forward to the next book and finding out what is next for Mor, her guys, and the Fae Kingdom! I would definitely recommend this book!
it was super nice, the change of Pov's allowed us to see the story through their eyes, but it wasn't exactly through their eyes but like a narrator focusing on one charecter in question. it was good, but i lost a little interest, but it was still nice.
There is nothing as good as disappearing into another world, within a lovely simple read. Especially when pain and other things bring you down. It’s like having a piece of magic of your own. Loved it on too no two now.
I think this was an interesting story but not very well written. The plot was ok, but the story seems rush and the characters a but weird. It didn't help that Mor in Spanish sounds so so funny, so everything I read that I would laugh hahaha
this book was great. i love these types of book where some one finds out they have magical abilities. i also love reverse harem books. great writing, exciting action and gives you all the warm fuzzies from the compassion and love shown in this book. on to book 2!
