Muchos agujeros en la historia. No lograron encantarme los protagonistas o su romance

Mí humilde opinión:
Valentina viene de una familia adinerada, no está acostumbrada a vivir sin dinero. Por eso cuando le rebota la tarjeta de crédito y los cheques no puede evitar entrar en pánico.
La cosa es que su padre movió todo el dinero porque lo están acusando de fraude y ahora ella está a punto de quedar en la calle.
Hudson está al borde de la quiebra, los proveedores lo persiguen y las cuentas se acumulan y ahora el banco se niega a ayudarlo.
Cuando Valentina, la amiga de su hermana se presenta y le dice que hay una forma de solucionar sus problemas de dinero no se lo espera, ni tampoco que dicha solución sea tener un hijo para cobrar la herencia de su abuela!
Sin embargo, por más que piense que es una locura no puede rechazarla.
Necesita el dinero y si para conseguirlo tiene que dejar a Valentina embarazada... No será un sacrificio para él, será todo un placer.
Me atrajo la sinopsis, leí muchos libros con un tema similar, no me canso de ellos mientras tenga una linda historia.
El libro comienza con Valentina y Hudson intentando solucionar sus finanzas inexistentes, pensando en cómo seguir adelante y conseguir dinero.
Todo eso para mí no fluía, bostezaba y sentí muy pesado de leer porque en realidad los protagonistas estaban quejándose y no haciendo nada al respecto!
Valentina se mostró superficial al comienzo, le importaban sus zapatos, sus joyas, su departamento y luego todo lo que le interesaba de pronto era ser madre? No entendí el cambio de corazón tan rápido!
Hudson estaba enfermo de la preocupación porque su negocio se iba a pique y después esquivaba a todos en el trabajo porque no podía decirles que no tenía dinero para pagarles? Me pareció un cobarde por ese lado y pensé que lo iba a arreglar pero nunca lo hace. Aparte de que siempre estaba bromeando y nunca parecía hablar serio con temas importantes.
El comienzo del romance entre Valentina y Hudson...
Me pareció muy frío cómo deciden tener sexo para ir al asunto rápido y quedar embarazada. Ella primero estaba incómoda hasta para besarlo y luego se lanza a ello con entusiasmo? Me resultó rara esa escena en el jacuzzi.
No sentí conexión real entre Valentina y Hudson creo que hasta que piensan anular el matrimonio. Mejora un poco desde ahí.
Lo único que me sorprendió fue el giro inesperado de las pruebas que fueron cambiadas en el hospital. No me lo esperé para nada.
Además, hubo puntos vacíos en la historia mientras avanzaba, Valentina y su primer trabajo? En qué quedó eso? qué sucedió con el trabajo de Hudson? fue como si lo dejara de lado mientras vive con Valentina. Cómo fue que su trabajo se salvó al final? Y el tema del padre de Valentina en la cárcel? La herencia?
Y hubo más vacíos que como lectora me quedé preguntándome.
Una lectura un poco difícil de terminar la verdad aunque tuvo un lindo final y por eso mis ⭐⭐

This was such a fun read! I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to connect or like V in the beginning because she was so stuck up and mean. She ended up growing emotionally and got rid of her spoiled attitude that she really grew on me. Hudson was a trip and handled her perfectly. By the end...I was swooning over this couple!

V and Hudson’s story had me cheesy smiling the whole time. I loved how their little arrangement went from business to pleasure so fast and they wasted no time. I couldn’t put this book down from the moment I started, their relationship felt so real and genuine. The ups and downs they had to face in their short time together proved they could overcome anything and they finally got their happily ever after with a surprise.

The premis is good. The execution, not so much. Most of the story lines had no resolution, and the math of pregnancy was a little disconcerting.

I really liked the story and the way it was told but I couldn't stand Valentina's character at times. Mostly the beginning maybe it was the rich girl poor me thing but she could be a real B* at times. Hudson was the man and the way he put up with and took care of Valentina was just sweet.

Romance, Puppies, and Clown Porn, Ha!
Author MCKENNA JAMES is on a roll. She has written another fun romance even though the storyline is not an original one. What does make it a delightful read are the characters the author has assembled, especially Valentina and Hudson, and allowed to play off each other in a way that doesn’t seem forced or unnatural. Well, except for Cousin Amanda; that character was a little over the top.
The premise is of a rich young woman, Val losing all her trust fund money when she finds out her father was abruptly arrested for fraud and thereby all his assets frozen. She goes to see her maternal grandmother, Vera for money. Vera proposes that if Val marries and givers her a grandchild she will be the benefactor to her inheritance. In the meantime she would receive a monthly allowance.
Val’s friend recommended her brother, Hudson who’s business is in financial duress. He agrees. But they find out that Vera has also presented the same offer to Cousin Amanda.
How will this turn out? Will love rule out in the end? Of course but it’s a fun read.
The reappearance of Valentina’s father at the end left me ambivalent. Probably because he was just talked about at the beginning of the story.
Recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.

So much missing
It could have been a good story, but there was so much missing. Hudson seemed to never actually be doing anything to solve his money problems except ignoring them. The last thing we hear is that the bank is threatening legal action and his best friend with a new baby isn’t getting paid and worse, Hudson is STILL lying to him about it. This left me stressed and worried about how it was going to be resolved. Instead the author ignores the issue (much like her characters love to do) and 2 months later they find out she is pregnant. So how did Hunter fix his financial problems in the meantime? And was there allowance paid during the pregnancy as well or just after the babies were born? If they had money during the pregnancy how come V didn’t go get her ring? If they didn’t have money than how did they survive? All it says is that his business was picking up again, but with as close as he was to disaster that wouldn’t be enough to save him let alone pay for the ring he got back. Lastly, why did they author cut us completely out of the conversation with her dad at the end? So many questions left completely unanswered.

Inconvenient desperation calls for drastic measures of the naughty kind. James tries her hand at a relationship of convenience story with surprising results. Baby Inheritance starts out slow and works it's way up to deliciously sweet. Hudson and Valentina take the subtle approach to a fast paced attraction and make it impossible not to fall in love.

La chica no me cayó bien la verdad me parecía muy hueca y berrinchuda, el chico lo amé era tan hermoso y perfecto y la manera en que la apoyó y estuvo con ella en cada paso el camino fue como todas quisiéramos que pasara.

Valentina was a spoiled rich girl who's life crumbled when her father is investigated for fraud and their bank accounts are frozen. Alone with just her friend Holly for support Valentina approaches her grandmother for help and is left with a proposition that could change her whole life. Only problem she has no idea who to ask for help. Enter Hudson, Holly's brother who's also down on his luck and is about to lose his business. What starts out as a mutual way for both of them to get cash, that they need desperately, soon turns into romantic feelings. Oh did I mention a crazy cousin thrown into the mix? Outstanding read I will be checking out the rest of the series soon!

An interesting concept….what would you do to secure your inheritance. Would you have a baby and get married even though there is no boyfriend in the picture?
Well that is the prospect facing Valentina when her father is jailed for fraud and cleans out her trust fund. The ultimatum is given to her by her grandmother.
And thanks to her best friend Holly, she suggests her brother who is also struggling financially. It should be a win, win for the pair of them.
Once they get past their initial unsureness of it all, the chemistry amps up and then you are in for one hell of a ride. So hang on tight and enjoy.

There were a lot of things not thought through well, like the fact that twins rarely make it through a full pregnancy. And if the bank was calling and employee checks were bouncing, suppliers calling about not being paid. How did he last 1 more day?
And her pawning her jewelry, there are standards and policies that pawn shops use.
Not to mention she'd rather pawn her most treasured possession her mother's ring than give up a penthouse apartment that she is renting. She's rich but doesn't own her own home?

Honestly the first couple chapters all I kept thinking was poor little rich girl with a lot of eye rolls. If it wasn't for Holly and Hudson I would have stopped reading.
Yes spoiled rich girls loses all her money. Tries to find a job, visits Grandmother, makes a deal and that is how the story takes off.
From there you get Hudson and V trying to make a baby for money, but surprise surprise they actually like each other even when they get some unfortunate news.
Does end happily.

She has to get married and have a baby. Val is upset because she doesn't know anyone who could fit the bill. Then Val runs into Hudson, who has his own problems. Val puts forward the proposition that she and Hudson have a baby which would solve both their problems. After a great deal of drama, they get married and have twins, getting their HEA.

Una storia così superficiale (e non per il matrimonio di convenienza) da risultare vuota e insulsa al lettore.
Sappiamo poco dei protagonisti e non si capisce granché del loro passato.
Nel loro presente non si conoscono realmente e non parlano quasi mai dei problemi che hanno.
La storia si svolge tanto in fretta quanto in nulla, in sostanza vanno solo a letto.
Per di più ci sono errori grammaticali incommentabili che rende il tutto anche peggio

Hudson and Valentina each had their own set of money problems with no idea how to fix it.. V's gran has a solution though they just need to have a baby. Good read and characters are fun, with lots of spice ;)

This story was something! Not only do you have a tremulous romance you have daddy issues and grandmother issues, could make your head spin. I'm glad for the strong and loyal characters, that's what made the book.

Good book!
I enjoyed this book but there were a lot of things left unfinished. Like what happened to the money problems? How did they work out ? I just was not happy with the ending.

Light read, fun character. Not heavy or detailed. Pick this book up and read for fun, don’t spend lots of time dissecting players or plot, it’s a for fun read, not James Bond!! Will make you smile and who doesn’t need that in 2020?

The idea of this storyline is really good. It missed on execution in a few areas but ended up really well done. I had to fast read over a few areas that were slow getting to the point and a couple were never explained. Overall it was a fun easy read, standalone HEA. If you dont mind a few unexplained blips here and there it's a good story about Valentina and Hudson.
