Halstad has vanished in the night, and the mage guild is denying any knowledge of his whereabouts. It would seem the mage doesn't want to be part of the pride...but Gesa's gryphon senses are tingling. Something smells like lies. To top it all off, the guild is refusing to sell mage contracts to anyone near Derek White. Even once Gesa finds her mage, she might not be able to keep him.
Pirates, sirens, and demon besties are the least of Gesa's worries as she sets off to find Halstad. The gryphon hates lies, but this time it's Gesa keeping a secret from her pride. One that will change their lives.
Author’s Note: I was tired of reading the same old thing over and over again in reverse harem. Sick of all alpha male and fainting female all the time—and desperate to be able to tell the male characters apart—I tried to infuse some variety into my story. Gesa might not be your cup of tea, and that’s okay—she doesn’t care. Her lovers are as varied in physicality and personality as they are in supernatural race. And the characters all have their own definition of sexuality. I know reverse harem is all about the fantasy, and my fantasy is a bit outside the norm. You’ve been warned.
Story length definitions: Flash fiction: 200-2,000 words Short story: 1,500-7,500 words Novelette: 7,500-15,000 words Novella: 15,000-40,000 words Novel: 50,000 words and up. *Gesa’s Menagerie books are novellas of between 30,000-40,000 words. *This is a series. There will be unresolved plot threads at times/ occasional cliff hangers. *Do NOT read this series if you are easily offended. Contains: mentions of past trauma/rape, adult language (that’s cursing kids, lots of it), and sexual content (including male/female, male/male, female/female, male/male/female, female/female/male and any other combination you can think of. Oh, and probably some tentacles and diphallia).
Sometimes our greatest strengths come from our deepest challenges. I write magic and romance, starring a cast of creatures with feathers, fins, and teeth. My books include paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and fantasy romance--with the occasional steampunk or alien story thrown in just for kicks. My pan heart firmly believes love is love, so you'll see straight, LGBTQIA, monogamous, reverse harem, and poly relationships in my work. My favorite theme is overcoming our inner demons and the insecurities that hold us back. I also advocate for self-development and mental health and dabble in non-fiction as time allows. I love the outdoors and still hope to be abducted by fae! (I may have more in common with my characters than I care to admit.)
I love to hear from readers!

This mismatched group is so perfect for each other it almost hurts. But am I wrong to want Orion or White in the Pride too? Can’t see it happening, but dang, I b really like them. Oh - and this is a true poly story, NOT just a reverse Harem.
Phenomenal, as per usual! Oooh we’ve got all the creatures in it now! The Pride is missing one of their own, and they’ll battle their way through planes, boats, seasickness, and worse - the cultural practices of sirens (could it be worse than the fae?!). I love how the Pride comes together they again to rescue one of their own, and make sure that there’s protection both for the strays they can’t stop picking up as well as the future of stray supes everywhere!
Gesa is on a boat. This is not the place for a grumpy gryphon. The sky? Absolutely. Land? Hail to the Queen, baby. A rocking boat? Nope. Not even an ancient kraken can comfort her. And the nausea isn't making the trip any better. That damned mage better be worth all this trouble.
Spoilers ahead. The group is still only half bonded. A big announcement is coming and they're still all stragglers huddled around a grumpy nucleus. Halstead is like the wandering electron. Barely part of their polycule and unstable as hell. The stories are entertaining, no doubt. I love the snark and sarcasm, the eternal grumpiness, the death threats. But they are more like oversexed roommates than a family. One book left and I don't know if we're going to get that bond cemented in place.
Ongoing series, with a nice blend of depth and humor. Loved the mystery solving aspects.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
This book is mainly about Halstead. In the last book Halstead was beaten and kidnapped by the Mage Guild. They set it up so White couldn’t return the mage at the end of his contract, all the time planning to pass on his contract to someone else.
After the pride accepts that Halstead is actually Gesa’s mate they have to work out a way to get him back. Of course White is on hand to exchange help for even more favours.
Whilst searching for Halstead we learn more about Kai’s history too, and I think the next book is set up to go deeper into her history.
This book was quite a feel good part of the series. There wasn’t too much danger and angst, but as the next book is the last in the series, I’m assuming that one will go with a bang.
