Retold in both Spanish and English, the universally loved story The Three Little Pigs will delight early readers and older learners alike. The striking illustrations give a new look to this classic tale and the bilingual text makes it perfect for both home and classroom libraries.
Какво по-добро за детска учителка, за да упражнява и развива испанския си на начално ниво, освен познатото: да чете и слуша познати и обичани детски приказки (които така или иначе всеки ден (по няколко пъти) чете на децата в детската градина)?
The solid writing style of Mercè Escardó i Bas is evident in The Three Little Pigs/Los Tres Cerditos. I believe this book may one day be considered a classic novella upon which other fiction writing will be compared. That being said, don't expect a lot of surprises in this book. The plot is predicable, yet timely and relevant. Why is law enforcement never contacted in any of the multiple crimes committed in this story by the character mysteriously referred to only as El Lobo? The decision of Los Tres Cerditos to strike back at El Lobo was obviously heinous revenge. Are Los Tres Cerditos secretly involved in illegal activities of their own? Are Los Tres Cerditos a cartel? The reader is simply left to wonder. Perhaps a sequel to The Three Little Pigs/Los Tres Cerditos is in the offing.
Me he reído, esta ni siquiera es mi edición pero me ha servido para el reto del Popsugar, así que sí, he disfrutado nuevamente con este cuento, es curioso cómo puedes ver otras cosas con otra mentalidad y mas años en el haber.
I Bas, Merce Escardo. The Three Little Pigs, Los Tres Cerditos (1995). This is a bilingual version of the traditional fable of the three brothers who went out into the world to build each their own house. Depending on the kindness of others to give them materials for their new homes, one brother pig builds a house of straw, another builds it of wood, and the third builds it of bricks and mortar. However, the very hungry wolf learns about the valley’s new inhabitants, and decides to pay them a visit. He starts with the first pig that built his house of straw and the story continues until all three pigs are at the brick home of the third pig. I Bas provides a well-written, descriptive retelling of this traditional fable with the well-known dialogue readers have enjoyed, such as “Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin!” The illustrator’s work resembles a single panel from a graphic novel, a style that Pere Joan is well known for as he “helped pioneer the genre of graphic literature-or auteur comic strips-in the 1980s” as described at the end of the book. I recommend this book for ages 6-9 years old. Teachers can use it as a good example of a traditional fable, as well as for a study of the wolf as a motif when compared and contrasted to other stories with wolves told over time.
This book is a classic and is still fun to read, even as an adult. What I love most about this book is that it is timeless. Children from any generation can get enjoyment from this book and every adult knows this story. The fact that it is also in English and Spanish is perfect for bilingual children. Though the story itself really serves no value to children as a lesson learned, it is still a fun read. If I can take anything away from the book as a lesson, I would say that teamwork is better than working on a project on your own. If the pigs put all their heads together and built one strong house, they would not have had their issues. So children can learn that collaborating ideas amongst one another promotes good teamwork.
Great traditional book told in Spanish and English. This book is great for Ells to get a sense of the story and visual to incorporate the main ideas of the story. This book has great pictures and the bilingual text make it perfect for Ells.
I got a real kick out of reading the traditional story in espanol. Each page of text pairs paragraphs advancing the story, one in English and one in espanol.
I liked this book because it is bilingual, it would be great to show students the story in both English and Spanish. The Three Little Pigs would also be good when teaching students to work together.
