Thomas, the Tank Engine, is the hero of this railway story.

It could be a fascinating adventure for children who have a fondness for trains. This is a story about competition. It's also going to thrill kids who like nonfiction more than stories.

Although a few details are given about Thomas's inner life, they're light on the fiction and heavy on the train aspect. For example:

That gave Thomas an idea. Off he sped to the Steamworks.
Thomas asked Victor to repaint him with lightning bolts and racing stripes.


Readers who find this kind of story appealing... they'd consider this a FIVE STAR read. So that's what I'll give this train tale.
