Blade: As the lead singer of Hard Core, I’ve been taught several key life lessons. Unfortunately, I've also ignored many of them in the last twenty minutes alone, which is why I'm now being chased by a hoard of crazed fans.

But my worst misjudgment today? Going outside in public without security or a backup plan. Screaming fans come with the job and the fame is as much of a blessing as it is a curse, but I still couldn't imagine doing any other line of work.

Music owns me and I am happy to be her bitch.

Nico: I knew who he was as soon as he burst through the front door of my store and I was absolutely starstruck and speechless. Yes, me with my own hardened attitude and jaded outlook on life had lost the ability to talk in the presence of Blade.

I'm an ex-con. I paid my debt to society, and I have my own brand of scars to show from the time I spent behind bars. My life's regrets stain my soul as much as the ink of my tattoos color my skin. Solace for me came with ownership of a bookstore. It was a peaceful place to work until a certain rockstar blew in from the street like a Category 5 hurricane.

Hurricane Blade was about to make landfall and I wasn't sure I'd survive the storm.

Ann Lister is a native New Englander currently living in Florida with her husband. She has pulled details from her years living in the New England area and uses many local settings and landmarks in her novels.

After graduating art school, marrying, and raising two daughters, she established her own video production company. Her nearly two decades working in video production included work within the music industry and won her a coveted Telly Award. Her 'behind-the-scenes' exposure to the music world and her love of rock music is the inspiration for her erotic rock star romances.

The Rock Gods series gave her Bestselling Author status on Amazon. Beyond The Music, Book 7 in the series, reached #1 in Gay Erotica in the Pre-Order and held that spot for several weeks. The last book in the series launches the spin-off series, Guarding The Gods, which is releasing in early summer 2016.

Fall For Me, Book One in the series was a Finalist in the 2013 Rainbow Award. Each book in this series brings her two favorite elements together: musicians and the love between two men. These stories focus on what it truly means to love; love unconditionally, love without restrictions or labels, love without fear or judgment – to just simply love.

This Wasn't perfect but it was enjoyable. I liked both MCs.

It got a bit repetitive at some points and some things moved preeetty quick(especially for someone like Blade who was supposedly a commitment phone). Additionally,it had some typos and wrong tenses but ultimately I liked it.

I must say that the mention of all the MCs from the Rock God series was a bit overwhelming but, it also peaked my interest so I'll definitely also check that series out.

I need a moment to sort out the remblings in my head. This book was simply perfect and it's hard to find the right words to do it justice.

Both Blade and Nico were great characters to get to know and fall deeply in love with. The banter was funny, some of the scenes had me almost combusting with heat and the tender moments stole my heart away. I loved the bad boy Blaze as much as I did the sorta shy, too good for his own good Nico. They come from two different worlds but are great for one another. Blaze with wanting to make him see the world he can provide and Nico keeping him down-to-earth and not spinning out of control.

Since this is my first book by Ann Lister I'm really happy I took a chance because I'm an insta-fan and I can't wait to see what happens next for this group of men.

I cut my Ann Lister teeth on The Rock Gods and closely followed by it's thrilling sequel Guarding the Gods and have been fascinated with these men throughout the series. Rockers are and will always be a genre I will run toward and enjoy. Now, I have another generation of Rock Gods, this time, East Coast Label, and I am definitely looking forward to more. Especially if it gives me more of Ivory Towers and Black Ice men.

This book was very good. A new band is introduced to their time in the spotlight. Front man of Hard Core, Blade, finds himself in a predicament when he escapes, sans bodyguards and have to run for his life. Thankfully, bookstore owner, Nico, was there to protect him. Not wanting anything, Blade realizes in a nation of people wanting something from someone famous, Nico was an original. He also realizes that he's drawn again and again to the man. Overlooking Nico's past to the heart of the man, the hit it and quit it singer soon finds himself craving Nico's presence. For Nico, he could not believe his luck. One meeting led to a life he'd never imagined for himself. But can the past reconcile his future? Will he be able to trust Blade not to break him?

This is the first book in a new series of Rock Gods and I am going to be all over it. This was fresh and fun and easy to read and love.

The typical rock star cliche wasn't anywhere near this story. I found this to be very relatable and realistic as well as super sexy. It delved into the typical drunken, coked up backstage shenanigans that we've all heard about, but the characters were seasoned and above all of that... mostly.

Nico was an ex-con who'd gotten a second chance at life and was humbled by his prison time. He was thoughtful and nerdy and heartbroken after his father's death. He took over the bookstore he'd run with his dad and had a simple, quiet, lonely life until Blade slid his way into it. Literally.

Blade's the lead singer/song writer for the baddest medal band in the country. But his life is changed the second he meets Nico. Because Nico's not like the other groupies. He's real.

The main conflict in this story was original and fresh and it really made the story for me. It wasn't the paparazzi or the rock and roll lifestyle.

This had something unique about it and it really gelled with me. I loved it and I hope you give it a chance to love it too. It was definitely worth the read.

This is a promising start to a new side series of the original Rock Gods. It was on the light drama-pull at your heart strings side than Ms. Lister usually writes, but still engaging. Blade and Nico were fabulous together. Their chemistry was strong. The realness of the characters understanding that it was too soon to be in love but to be able to confront their feelings with each other and know where the other stands is refreshing.

The story flowed well. Ending was a little rushed and left a few unanswered questions that became a big point (hopefully in the next one, they are somehow answered). The characters were strong and likable but not much depth. Some of their back story felt glossed over.

Overall though, it was a good read and enjoyed visiting with prior characters (always love a cross-over series). You can feel that there will be more to come in this series and I am looking forward to it.

WOW!!! I absolutley LOVED this book!!!!! Why??? Because of the bloody awesome song lyrics in the book.... and I love band books🤣🤣

Normally I get so frustrated because it would go something like this: "And he wrote me an epic song" .... this book actually gave you the LYRICS of said song!!!!! Oh and just so we are clear it's an awesome book such lovable characters and an interesting plot.

Rocker love

It’s been a while since I’ve read a good rocker story. I’m so glad I’ve stumbled upon this book. Had everything I love in a rocker story. I loved how the MC’s where with each other. Love that even quick their love was believable. The only thing I wish they would have explored more was the if there was any fallout with N being an ex con. Maybe it did maybe not.
Other than that the writing rocked the smexy was hawt, and the love was wonderful.
Can be read as a stand-alone although I there where few side characters that I feel I should know a few of them from reading other books

Such a wonderful story. I got hooked right from the start. I fell in love with Nico and Blade. There are a few major bumps in their relationship but I loved the happily ever after ending.

More Rock Gods!!

Ann Lister has a new bunch of rockers for us to love with her East Coast Label series!

A Rhythm You Feel focuses on Blade, the lead singer of Hard Core and what happens after he stumbles upon Nico’s bookstore while trying to flee a bunch of screaming fans.

To thank Nico for allowing him to use the store as a safe haven, Blade offers to take him to see Ivory Tower and Black Ice at Madison Square Garden.

Nico is completely mind blown that Blade is in his store to begin with and can’t even comprehend the thought of meeting the other two bands. As much as Blade has a good heart and is looking to impress Nico, he’s also pretty reckless and, at times, behaves like the pampered, entitled rocker that he is.

Blade is relentless in his pursuit of Nico and truly smitten with him. The problem is, the more Nico gets thrown into the rock n roll lifestyle—backstage parties, dining with Hard Core while the band is getting wasted, and invitations to their recording sessions, he’s fighting his own demons from past addictions. Nico hasn’t had it easy after his father died, trying to stay clean while running his father’s bookstore and making him proud by keeping his dream alive. He’s also battling to stay strong and out of trouble after having been in prison for a few years for selling drugs (which is how he’d started using) and going back isn’t an option.

I love how the guys from Black Ice and Ivory Tower get a decent sized cameo. There’s something else that happens towards the end of this story that has to do with Dagger and Ryan as Ann Lister sets us up for their story in another new, original Rock Gods.

Nico and Blade balance each other perfectly: Blade teaches Nico to let go once and a while and grab life by the horns, and Nico takes Blade down a few notches and makes him realize how people have to work at relationships and responsibilities in order to make sure they thrive. Yeah, I think those two are going to be just fine together.

Ann Lister doesn’t miss a beat as she takes us back on the road with a whole new crew of rockers. Her attention to detail, her knowledge of all things rocker, and the amazing songs she conjures up never cease to amaze me. Looking forward to more from this new series, but before that, bring on Dagger and Ryan’s new story!! I’m dying to make sure that they’ll be okay!

A Rhythm You Feel is the first book in a new series by Ann Lister, The Rock Gods: East Coast Label. And, omg, I am so freakin excited!

Immediately, this story has all that I love about Ann Lister's books. Reading one of her books is like coming home. Her rock world is fascinating, and the men loveable and charismatic. But, more than anything, it's her writing style that sucks me in every time. It's smooth, seamless, and riveting.

Blade's the lead singer of Hard Core. In a fun meet cute, he meets Nico as he's escaping a crowd of fans by running into Nico's bookstore.

Aww, Nico. His past is saddening, full of drugs and jail time. Meeting Blade, everything changes for the man. He meets the bands, Black Ice and Ivory Tower, which is extremely entertaining. He's in awe and fangirls as we all would. It's fun, sweet, and also sad, as he struggles with some of what he sees.

One of my favorite parts of the behind the scenes moments are the differences between the older bands and the newer ones. The lifestyle is tamed down for the Black Ice and Ivory Tower guys, while those new to the lifestyle still like to party hard. It's an interesting aspect that the author explores well.

Damn, Blade and Nico have intense chemistry and an even better emotional connection. I love them together. Nico's transformation from a man who works too much and doesn't get much enjoyment out of life, to a man who's happy and in love, is beautiful! To say that meeting Blade was a godsend would be an understatement. Not only does Nico find love, he also finds the joy in life that he was missing. And for Blade, in Nico's he's found someone worth spending his time with, someone who like him for him and not his fame, and someone worth loving.

Their story is one of finding someone who makes you want to be a better person. It's about trying to mesh two opposing lifestyles to be with the one you love. And it's about the ongoing struggle with addiction.

I can't recommend A Rhythm You Feel enough. I love this book. And I can't wait for more of this series. Once again, Ann Lister had me delighted with every single word.

3.5 stars rounded up for nostalgias sake.

Having followed the preceding series since way back, this start to the new series echoes the same formula. The last few releases have been a little hit or miss for me, so I hoped for a lot from a new series. The band Hard Core is still loosely tied to Black Ice and Ivory Tower and there was some crossover of characters in this opening episode. I saw a hint in the dialogue that a new story for Dagger and Ryan might come out. Blade the rockstar meets Nico the ex-con bookstore owner and the plot moves along somewhat predictably. Some doubts, especially for Nico and minor angst ensues, then an unexpected challenge adds extra interest in an otherwise simple narrative.

My tastes have changed over the years, so the descriptions and quantity of sex scenes wasn’t exactly to my taste. I did like that the author presented Nico as possibly demisexual without labeling him. I didn’t always care for the style of occasionally purple prose and the characterization isn’t very deep. In all honesty, the indefinable quality that swept me into the Rock Guards didn’t capture me here. Not that there was anything wrong in particular, it was just flat feeling. Could be, it’s me not you. Maybe the next volume will kick up a spark now that the full cast of future main characters in the band and attendant details are set up. I’ll try the next for sure.

WONDERFUL INTRODUCTION TO THIS SERIES

A fantastic new Rock Band from ANN LISTER!!! Hard Core is the latest in your face group on The Rock Gods: East Coast Label. If your ready for HOT, you've come to the right venue. Blade is arrogant, confident and unapologetic as a rock star. But deep down, out of the public eye, is a man who needs someone who can see him. Not the money, fortune and fame. Nico is an unassuming, bookstore owner, ex con who works 7 days a week. He's proud to own the bookstore, where he grew up and inherited from his Dad. The last thing he needs is an entitled rock star, busting through his business pursued by screaming, determined, crazed fans. This story is absolutely phenomenal. No one can tell a behind the scenes rock star story better than ANN LISTER. From the true personality and lifestyle of bands touring the world. To the home lives the public isn't a witness to. She captures these men at their best and sometimes their worse. Blade and Nico is a hot, sensual, seduction. The bond that only dreams, with our favorite rock stars are made of. I'm joining Hard Core on this adventure of a lifetime to see where this journey takes them. Sooo looking forward to the next book. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!!

A rhythm you feel is the first book in the NY Rock Gods series and boy did it not disappoint me

Nico is an ex-convict and owner of a bookstore living a quiet life of basically just work. During a crash meeting, he meets Blade which is a well know rock star. The two have an instant connection and sparks fly.

Can a quiet bookshop keeper and a huge rock star figure out how to blend their lives as they fall hard for each other?

I loved this story. These two guys sucked me right in and had me routing for them. Not only did I love them, I loved Blades band mates and his guard Ram.

Check out the book to see their connection and experience the love they felt for each other.

And let me just say, Ann surely knows how to write lyrics for songs. She has a true talent with that.

Bring on the next book. I can’t wait.

The Queen of rock star romance has done it again!!!

We all know that Ann Lister rocks the rock star romance and here is no exception. What amazes me is how well they are connected. Blade and Nick are just as unique and beautiful as all the others. And like previous books there is a lot of hidden strength as well as vulnerabilities. I read the shortened version and loved it. This one blew me away. So much so I read it twice and skimmed through it again before writing this. If you are a fan of all her books them you definitely need to read this one. There are awesome little gems that show how well all of the stories are connected. Makes me want to read them all again.

The bad boy rocker finds his HEA 💖

This is a sweet love story with mild angst, hot steamy action, and a bad boy rock star who finds love with a nerdy book store owner. It's a perfect balance of beautiful song lyrics, concert performances, and the seldom written about world of behind the scenes at rock concerts. We check in with our favorite characters from Black Ice and Ivory Tower, who are still going strong.
If you enjoy reading a good love story, and miss the Rock Gods, this book is for you.

I actually genuinely enjoyed this book, but I still wouldn’t say it’s a great book. I think I was just relieved to read something decent after a huge book slump.

This book is sweet, but very very heavy on sex. I like my books to be steamy, but this book had so many sex scenes and each was ridiculously long. That being said, I did like the sex scenes and I liked that the characters were vers. I especially loved the enthusiastic verbal consent. I only wish the emotional connection was developed just as strongly as the physical connection.

I did have some issues with pacing. The relationship moved fast in terms of timeline (couple of days to go exclusive), but took time to build up in terms of the actual writing (exclusive around 50%). This book also has a strong dose of instalust, and the characters were baring their souls and telling each other deeply personal stuff after meeting just once before, which wasn’t very believable.

I also felt that the characters just didn’t fit into each other’s lives. One of the characters is an ex-addict, and he has a problem being around drunkenness. After the other MC gets sloppy drunk, they have a fallout until that MC promises to never do it again. I just don’t feel that promising to change something you wouldn’t want to change yourself is a healthy approach to a relationship. There’s also the issues of distance, working hours, and so forth that come with dating a musician that were briefly mentioned, but never really addressed. At one point, one of the MCs worries that the other will cheat on tour, but it’s never discussed or mentioned again. Issues like the income disparity and paparazzi were also never mentioned.

The ending was really abrupt. One of the MC’s bookstore burns down, and then we go straight into the epilogue. What was the point of the store burning down if we weren’t going to read about the resolution to it at all? Couple that with all the unaddressed relationship issues and the short timespan of the characters’ relationship, I just felt that there was a lot unresolved. It almost felt like the author got bored of writing and decided to just write an epilogue to wrap up an unfinished story. I wanted more.

Oh man it’s been way too long since I’ve read a Rock Gods book and I need to go catch up on a couple I think I missed!
If you haven’t read the Original Rock Gods Series it’s ok you can pick this up here. The guys from the West Coast series do make a couple appearances but you will be introduced.

I loved the way these two met with Blade actually running into Nico’s book store begging him to hide him. It’s one heck of a schooling and cute meet cute.
After the shock of a man barreling in begging to hide Nico recognizes Blade then does finally hide him.
They talk and become friends and Blade pursues more.

I loved these two guys. I loved how you got to see behind the scenes of the Rockstar life but Nico had secrets that made the two lives hard to blend. Could they make it work?
I hope to see more of these guys as the books go on.
If you like Rock Stars, book nerds, Exxon’s, recovering drug users and hot sex this is for you!

Love x 2

This book is the start of another Rock God series. This one is about the members of Hard Core, from the East Coast Label.

Don't worry though, members of Black Ice and Ivory Tower have cameos so we get a look into how their lives are going.

This book is about Blade the lead singer of Hard Core and Nic Salvatore, a bookstore owner, that Blade meets when trying to escape some zealous fans after he ditches his security detail. Nic is leary of Blade when they first meet, wondering why a famous rockstar would be in a nobody like him. Blade is persistent and soon they develop feelings for each other.

Ann doesn't disappoint when setting a scene whether in a bookstore or at a rock concert. You feel like you are there and get taken away into their world for a few blissful hours.

3.5 stars. This was a good read, but there were so many disconnects for me. I loved Blade and Nico, I just didn’t completely believe they were it for each other. Which is strange, because I loved all the other books by this author that I’ve read. Some of the timeline felt rushed, while others took a while. I don’t know. I’ll be reading the next one in this series though.
