Zoe imagines what fun it will be to welcome the new girl, Isabelle, to the class.

But before she gets a chance to invite her home, chicken-pox strikes. Zoe's little brother comes out in spots and soon Zoe is covered in scabs. A week in bed is called for.

She gets back to school after nearly a fortnight to discover that her best friend, Iris, is now inseparable from Isabelle. And Isabelle has arranged a skipping competition that she won't let Zoe participate in, judge or even watch. While everyone else is taken up with the craze, Zoe has no one to play with. She divides her time between sick bay and the library.

Isabelle's bullying gets worse. And Zoe longs for revenge. But her dad has told her the best way to deal with bullies is to 'stand tall' and not become as mean as they are.

Can Zoe do it? When she sees Isabelle crying, is she going to give in to her need to retaliate or to do as her dad suggested?

This was a good story about a new girl who comes in and bullies those around her. It has a good message and doesn’t have themes above the target age group.

Zoe is excited to meet a new classmate, Isabelle, hoping to make a friend. However, she quickly discovers that Isabelle can be unkind, leaving Zoe unsure of how to respond. Throughout the story, Zoe struggles with the challenge of standing up for herself while remaining honest and kind. "The New Girl" shows the ups and downs of friendships and the pressures of fitting in.

here is a book review about the new girl: The new girl is a intresting book authored by rowan mcauley and illustrated by ash oswald.

this type of book is a fiction book. there pictures are simple nearly all the pages have a picture that look that same.

The main idea of the story is that zoe has a best friend called iris.

Zoe can't wait to meet Isabelle, the new girl. What will she be like, and will they be friends? But when Isabelle starts being really mean, Zoe has to choose between being mean too, or standing tall and being a good friend.

one day zoe sees isbelle crying but what is zoe going to do ? would she help her or just walk away. read the book to find out if she helps or not. zoes brother max has chicken pox. put her mum wouldnt let isbelle to go to school when she is not even sick. later on isbelle has chicken pox alround her body. put espically on her face. she didnt go to school for 1 week. when she comes back to school isbelle has a skipping compenttion and iris was with her particapting in the skippping coppetitoin but isbelle didnt let zoe join the group. her dad comes to soes room and her dad says why come you are upset. zoe exlained what happended. read the book to find out if isbelle be's her friend ? this book is mainly for girls. this story takes place at school and at home. the main charatchers are isebelle zoe and iris.

I had to throw the book away. Only one thing bothered me about this book. It was Zoe's mum. After Zoe hit her brother Max for teasing her, their mum only told Zoe to apologise to Max and not Max also apologising to Zoe. And after refusing to apologise to Max, her mum only punished her and not Max. It was so unfair that Max got away with it! That's why I hate everyone in Zoe's family except Zoe herself! Cause they didn't see what Max did was also wrong. They shouldn't have been so blind to see that.

i learnt that you don't have to be afraid if you are new in a school. Or if you are already in the school, you make that person feel belonged.
