Van is an omega assassin used to taking care of himself. Hudson is an older alpha who sees through Van’s rough exterior to the mate within.

When Van’s latest mission forces him into hiding, he’s certain all the free time will drive him insane. Working as an assassin for the OAC is his life. He takes on the worst of the worst—alphas who don’t see value in an omega’s life. And he doesn’t want to ever stop. To be an effective agent, Van has had to turn away from his nature. The meek, mild disposition of most omegas has no place on a mission. He isn’t coddled or doted on. No one worries if he comes home with a scratch or bruise. Not until Hudson.

Van is skittish and untrusting, but Hudson can be patient, especially when the reward is so sweet. When Van stops by to say goodbye, but won’t say who he’s hiding from or why, Hudson knows he can’t let him out of his sight. He offers Van an alternative hideout on his farm hours away from the city. He knows how dangerous this world is for omegas, he lost his brother over twelve years ago and gained four sons in the process, all teenagers by now. And while Van isn’t very forthcoming, Hudson knows he’s worth the wait and effort. He’ll earn Van’s trust, even if he has to do it the hard way.

What started as an experiment for Van to see how the other half lives turns into so much more. Van never expected to love a life of early morning chores and school lunches. He thought he’d be bored stiff way out in the country, but every day, Hudson shows him something else to appreciate, something else to miss when his real life comes calling.

If the OAC taught Van how to stand strong, then his time with Hudson has taught him how to also rely on the strength of others. But, when an old threat comes knocking on his door, the pristine life Van has made in the country comes to a shuddering halt. Can Hudson love the man Van is? Will Van have to choose between his life helping people in the OAC and his mate?

Quench is the second book the Omega Assassins Club series. This book contains mentions of violence as well as topics that may arise in an a/b/o world where power is not distributed evenly. It is an mpreg/omegaverse romance with comedy and heat and just the right amount of spice!

This story has so little substance it is light as air. It was worth 2 stars because at least the characters got *some* work and the kids were cute but the level of worldbuilding here is so slap-dash it is almost insulting.

So the super secret, high-level omega assassin organisation with the apparently incredible budget is seriously called Omega Assassins Club and the members call it that with a straight face. Omega's seem to have it pretty rough in this society but you wouldn't know about it unless it directly affects the protagonists or we need a harrowing example. No clue what normal Omega's do all day and what the real gender dynamics of this society are.

There are no rules to how conception, heats and reproduction in this a/b/o verse that make sense since the author took the first convenient opportunity to get her Omega pregnant just because she could. Why even establish the existence of suppressants when they're not going to do shit as birth control and apparently everyone involved knows this?

I need to stop writing this review or I'm going to talk myself out of the two stars and that would be a lie because I *did* sort of enjoy the story. I'm still not going to read anything by this author again . She appears to value quantity over quality too much.

***I I received an ARC copy of this book for my honest opinion***

Hudson and Van are our main characters in this second book of Omega Assassins Club. Two people who are in totally different places in their loved but fate has brought them together.

Van's vulnerability was nice to see. A hardcore assassin scared of children was funny but also showed how his life was so sheltered and the only thing that was "good" was killing evil Alpha's. I'm the end I'm glad Van and Hudson got their HEA.

But I'm also looking forward to River's book. I wonder how an expert marksman can miss an easy shoot? So many questions???

Another one for the win!!

I loved this one! I typically do when there’s children in books 😆 I like that it’s so layered and for Van to come to the realisation that he doesn’t have to choose one or the other. That he can be different kinds of Van in different situations 🤩

Standard mpreg fare. I was hoping that this series might get a little deeper as the books went on but instead it seems like it just taking the omegas from the team and hooking them up. It ends up retiring them from their roles as assassins. There isn't even the pay off of seeing them deal with a pregnancy that they never thought they would have or them dealing with the children the end up with. The book just skims the surface of the issues of transitioning from being a killer to an omega with a mate. It also bothers me we don't get a good backstory of what lands Van into the OAC or the drive that made him a killer.

I enjoyed reading this book but I'm a little sad about all the missed opportunities this series could have.

Man am I loving this series! Omegas in power. Omegas taking control and making a stand. Granted, it’s undercover and quietly, but they are fighting the good fight for all those who can’t make a stand.
Van is on a mission this time. But before he even gets to his mark, he’s ambushed by a huge dude. Van, with the help of Ryder, injure the big dude and take out the mark, but Van is seen because he’s been hurt and not careful and now he needs to go on the run and hide. He’s supposed to go to a safe house, but instead is outside an apartment of an alpha that brings out a side of Van, he didn’t know was possible. He likes that Hudson wants to care for him and protect him, but he has no clue what Van really is. When Van leaves to hide with Hudson and his kids, he’s learning to love the life. Until that life comes in connection with his other life and those he cares for are in danger. Then Van the assassin takes over. But now Hudson knows and when it’s time for debriefing, Van doesn’t want to leave but Hudson tells him not to come back. And Van doesn’t know how to get past this and to the man he’s learning to love.
I swear, no matter how hard these omegas work, sometimes they just can’t catch a break. They know the risks as far as marks and their jobs, but when unexpected alphas come in and turn their world upside down, it leaves them in the lurch. Especially when that alpha is not at all like the alphas they normally deal with or have dealt with. It’s refreshing for them, but still leaves them floundering because they don’t know how to act. Which is almost funny. These big bad assassins trying to figure out how to be the omegas they were meant to be instead of the omegas they are trained to be. It’s sweet. I love how patient these alphas have been too. Even with Magnus and now Hudson, they know something is off with their omegas. But they are patient with them, understanding there are things they can’t say, even though their alphas are demanding otherwise. They refuse to bow down to the old ways. They are patient, frustrated, but understanding and give their omegas time to trust and come to them on their own. The way it should be.
I love how this series has turned out. I LOVE it. Although rights for omegas still suck, these guys are doing their best to change the world a little at a time. It’s not easy. It leaves it’s mark on them, but for the greater good, they keep trying.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book. I loved how much Hudson liked taking care of his family and was very strict with the boys especially Rocky since he was coming into his first heat, and considering his brother the boys Omega father was killed by his Alpha husband all because he only produced him Omega sons, so he worried of the same happening to Rocky but as soon as Van talks to him about it, he eases up a bit even though he’s always going to worry. He’s not doing it to just be controlling like a lot of other Alphas. I thought it was cute how Mitchell, Rocky’s boyfriend offers Hudson an apology and asked him for permission to date Rocky. I loved how Van was scared of the boys when he first met them as he never really been around children before, considering he’s an assassin but it didn’t take long for him to love all of them. After the situation went down with Van’s new family being attached by AF and Van disposing of them, Remington and his OAC family came and got him, Hudson then basically tried to make him choose and if he left it was for good. He was scared of constantly wondering if he’s okay and he wasn’t trying to control him. I was good to see that he regretted it straight away and tried to find him. I thought it was awesome to see how Hudson was both scared but also extremely proud of Van and the boys, especially when the boys wanted to learn to fight but Van turned around and them that he was happy to teach them self defence so they can escape a bad situation, if they ever got into a situation like their Omega father. Wow, I’m definitely looking forward to River’s book especially after he missed the k*llshot when Van was being attacked by the original AF hi*man, and is now missing on the op when he was sent to actually finish the job. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

Got a little bored and skimmed some. I didn't connect with the characters and wasn't really invested in their story. Another thing that seriously bugged me was that Van got pregnant when he was like doubled up on suppressants? WHY does the omega character HAVE to get pregnant? This seems like the norm for this author, in every book I've read by her the omega just HAS to get pregnant like that's somehow end-game.
Overall, it had just enough substance for me to finish, but not enough to where I was enthralled by it.

I’ve read books by Kiki Burrelli before, but nothing of this caliber. Wow. Just wow. Quench has it all: humor, heart and plenty of action. I love how this was a different take on the A/O trope.

If I had to mention one niggle, I’d say that Quench should’ve been proofread a little better. Fortunately the mistakes were minor and didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment of the story. Highly enjoyable.

I really loved this book. I loved the characters and I loved the plot. The world building was well done and I enjoyed the romance between Van and Hudson. Hudson accepted Van for who he was as an assassin and all his many facets. These Omegas are so tough and strong, it's awesome. The ending was so heartwarming that it just about brought happy tears to my eyes. This was definitely outstanding.

I had a hard time with rating this book. I liked it but it is light. This could be a much deeper series. The story line leaves a lot that could be made to make this book really stand out but as it is it's just light and fluffy. Still I enjoyed it. I love seeing these omegas doing what they can to help others out there but still have a life.

QUENCH by @kikiburrelli

Well Van’s story didn’t disappoint in the least! It was a fun not spin on the OAC and the dangers they face. Hudson and his nephews turned sons was a wonderful added element to Van and Hudson coming together. I enjoyed the danger and the love in this one thoroughly and I’m excited to read River’s book next!

Can a stalwart alpha bring out an assassin's inner omega?

What a great second book in the Omega Assassin's Club series! This picks up where the first book left off, so be sure to read it. I didn't want to put it down. It drew me in from the first pages & wouldn't let me out. The characters come alive in this vibrant world. You will care about them. I loved this book!
An old enemy rears its head. Old friends pop in. Loyalty is tested, as is hard won trust. There is violence, family angst, a crotchety old man, betrayal, revelations, and an epiphany. You will love this book!
This is Van and Hudson's story. Caring for his late brothers 4 omega teenage boys and his farm, alpha Hudson doesn't have time for love. That is until fate has him literally bumping into his mate. Van is coming off a mission when he runs into Hudson. He doesn't understand why being around Hudson makes him feel safe and wanted. When he must flee the city to hide out, Hudson offers to bring him home. Against all his training, Van says yes.
You will be enchanted as Van learns about country life and his inner omega. You will never look at pig pens the same way ever again! When the danger he has been hiding from comes calling, Van must reveal his assassin side to save the family he has come to love. Can Hudson accept this side of Van? HEA is assured, but getting there has a few bumps.
You need this book. Get. It. Now.
This book contains adult themes and language, violence, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.

Not so sure what to think of this book. I didn´t click with the characters and the plot as interesting as it was for me in the blurb did not really work out for me. It was a nice enough read to finish the book and enjoy it somewhat but it is not a book I would want to read again.

2.5 stars, rounded up. Could have used better editing for consistency. Things like saying that Hudson's brother died 12 years ago, after giving birth to his youngest son, then a few pages later saying his brother's youngest son was 10 years old. A few chapters later, and the youngest is 12 again.

I enjoyed the parts of Van as an assassin, but the rest of the book was mostly about the romance with Hudson and the kids. So I would say this book was more about family. Overall just an OK read.

So, at first I feel a little bit bored because the plot is the same as other Kiki's books. The Alpha meet with Omega accidentally and then he feels that the Omega is for him, that's his Omega. Always like that. But thankfully the rest of chapter is good and unique because in this one the Omega is the thug one, he even can protect his (unofficial) pack, hehe because when the attack happened, Van didn't mate with Hudson yet. Van has strong personality and he will stand his argument even if that will bring him sorrow, as example when he has to choose between Hudson and OAC. At beginning I kinda think that Hudson is way too understanding to the point of "come on dude, stop being like that" lol, but at last he rich his limit and even threaten Van to not come back to him, if Van choose to go with OAC. So the character was good in my opinion.

For the story itself, hmm I feel like it is too short and left you with some kind of unsatisfied feeling hehe. I hope there will be one more chapter before Van and Hudson got back together and that on chapter will fill with Van's and Hudson's thought about "them" and how they will make up.

My favourite chapter in this story is when the attack happen and Van have to protect the childrens but also have to deal with his own problem (the scream and the pain from the attack), that was quite emotional :(

For you who want to see a thug Omega, here, Quench will spoiled you to your heart content lol, you're definietly have to read it.

This author has once again, written an outstanding & highly intriguing MM/Mpreg romance that captures the reader’s attention & keeps it & I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story-line & plot is intriguing, well-thought out & written with a different view on the omega/alpha relationship in society. The unique characters are quite complex with a variety of traits and different sides to their personalities, they are inclined to be devious and/or dangerous at times but are quite realistic with their emotional feelings & expectations. There are some character crossovers from the previous book but this book can be read as a standalone.
There is: a strong protective alpha (Hudson) falls for a feisty omega (Van) who unknown to him is an assassin that is in potential danger, the children that Hudson is looking after (Rocky, Shiloh, Maverick & Puck), a Alphas First organization, shifters, assassins, omegas, alphas, missions, targets, humor, twists & turns, suspense, intrigue, secrets, mystery, action, danger, threats, enemies, violence, deceit, attractions, memories, friendly advice, verbal disagreements, jealousy, confrontations, admittance, ultimatums, unexpected surprises, mates, love, happiness, some steam & a beautiful happy ending. I would recommend this book.
