Did you know that the first wild horse was only one foot tall and had three toes on each of its feet? There are actually only three types of wild horses: Mongolian wild horses, zebras, and asses (donkeys). Wild horses have short, stiff manes as opposed to domesticated horses. They only live in Asia and Africa. Any other non-domesticated horses are feral horses because they are bred to be tamed. The bottom half of a horse's leg is a long "third" toe with a giant toenail. Horses run super fast - up to 40 miles per hour and have tons of endurance.

This is really a reveiw for all of Zoobooks for kids. I subscribed to them for my children when they were younger. They were so good, I saved them all.

Not only are they accurate and they appeal to the preservation of the species, they also have some pretty amazing trivia about animals. It is like putting little Guinness Books of World Records within each issue.

This magazine is humbling and gives kids an appreciation for all life forms.
