An angel.
It's the worst rainstorm in history when I find her unconscious in the woods.
Sent from heaven.
She's lost and alone, a newborn baby in her arms.
I will protect them.
My cabin is their shelter from the storm. Under my care, no one can hurt them.
Whatever the cost.
But I'm not who she thinks I am.
And if she finds out, she'll keep on running.
My home is her home, my heart her heart.
And I sure as hell don't want to break it.

Dear Reader,
Were you missing the mountains as much as we were?!
James is the virgin burly bearded baby daddy you've been waiting for.
Can you say that three times fast?
Try it.
A little louder now. Harder. Harder.
Yes. Yes.
Wait for it.
Ohhh, yessss.
Just. Like. That.
He likes it when you scream his name.
We like it when you come back for more. :)

Y’all ever read something and the whole time you’re just wondering why tf you’re reading it? That was this book right here.

First problem, as I am the granddaughter of the chap prez of an MC, I avoid MC books like the plague because I’m overly critical. And omg this one had it pop in by surprise and the way they described how the club treated women ughhhhh. Tbh I’m not saying it’s 100% inaccurate, I just don’t like reading about it.

Anyway in addition to that the male mc lol, honestly LOL is a good description of him and his personality. You ever seen those tiktok videos where the guy is pretending to be 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 and calling the girls his waifu and says stuff outloud and then gets embarrassed and is like “DID I SAY THAT OUTLOUD OH MY GOSH PLEASE DONT THINK IM WEIRD” anyway, that’s basically the equivalent of the entire personality of this male main character.

I really enjoyed this story it was quick read with a lot of heart.

James has been living high up in the mountains away from the life he never wanted when he finds Marcie and her baby Lilly during a storm, with little to no choice he carries them back to his secluded cabin. He knows that he should walk away from them and whatever they are running from but one look at Marcie he knows that he would do anything to keep them safe. Thinking that he was destined to live his life alone after running from a life he never wanted how will he feel when that life is looking for the woman he has claimed as his own?

Marcie followed her older sister everywhere she had been the only constant thing in her life so when she joined the MC there was no doubt that she would as well only the life they were expecting wasn’t the one that they got and before long she had lost her sister and knew she and her niece had to run if they had any chance of survival. Marcie wakes up in James’s cabin and he helps her recover from the ordeal but when she finds out his connection to the club she ran from can she truly trust him or was this love and life she thought she’d finally found be nothing but a lie?

These two authors together can do no wrong for me. Excellent read with excitement, danger and sweet love. Definitely worth a read.

Well, there's a lot to unpack in this novella, and that's probably saying something since this is a short book. Sooo, spoilers incoming.

Marcie (18) ran away from a MC club after her sister had a baby and sadly passed away right after. She brought her niece, Lily, to keep her safe. They were wandering for two days when James (24) found them lost in the forest and rescued them. A storm stranded them in his cabin for a week, and we all know how this'll go. I mean, it's a straightforward novella.

Anyway, we later found out that James' dad leads the MC club. So, Marcie's niece is James' half-sister. When his mom died, his dad changed for the worse, and he decided he wanted nothing to do with him or his club. So he took off and didn't look back. When he was about to tell her everything about his past, his father found Marcie and Lily in the forest. Before this, Marcie saw a photo of a younger James with his parents, and she jumped to the worst conclusions, thinking he's going to give them back to the club—that's why she ran away again. See the running theme? Anyhoo, there's some action and suspense, but it all wraps up nicely in the end.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a quick read with heart, romance and action. James finds Marcie and baby Lily in the woods during a really bad storm and he takes them in. Little did either know that they are running from the same threat. Will it catch up to them and ruin them or will they be able to overcome and get the HEA they are searching for. You will not disappointed with this book. Another great read from this duo.

Jesus... These two are unstoppable... It's one book after the other and I'm loving every page.
Frankie Love and CM Seabrook are the bombs. Their writing completes each other and I'm always left wanting more... More...
Heart Of The Mountain is their latest release and tells the stories of James and Marcie.
James loves his piece of heaven in the mountains. He wants to be left alone and seeks refuge there. One day, after a huge storm he finds a woman unconscious with a small baby in her arms. What will he do?
Marcie saw herself fighting and running to keep her niece safe. The need to survive put her in danger in the mountains...
Another perfect book, that's for sure.
Sweet plot, very engaging and intense. It was sweet and hot.
You might think that everyone is against you but sometimes life sends you an angel.
It was short but with all the ingredients for a perfect story.
We had love, loyalty, desire as well as betrayal, crime, punishments, and darkness.
Sweet and oh so good.
Thank you, Frankie and CM. This book nailed it.I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Oooh, this one annoyed me. This thing’s only like, 100 pages, AND THERE’S A FREAKING THIRD ACT BREAKUP! You CAN’T do that with short, insta-love stories! 🙄 Oh well…

Everything about this book was good except it was a little to fast 💨.

Other than that great book where the love interest wasn’t toxic or creepy. And the main girl wasn’t oblivious or annoying.

Sometimes you read a book and the only reason you finished it was bc it was a super short novella…. What the fuck did I just read 😂 not the part where she said her insta love man (literally said they loved eachother after a week) getting shot and almost dying was the scariest thing to ever happen to her when her sister was literally killed 3 days before they met…. Okay

This book was OK. I didn’t dislike it only a few days after having read it, I don’t remember that much. Young woman with newborn, not hers, is found on a mountain in a thunderstorm and rescued by reclusive mountain man. Right from the bat he’s very protective of young woman and baby. Young woman is on the run from very bad man. Mountain man vows to protect her and in less than a week is in love. Turns out there is a link between mountain man and bad man. But mountain man saves young woman and baby and they live happily ever after. The end.

An I doubt I’ll read it again.

Loved this mountain man romance!!

James finds a woman with a baby near his cabin in the mountain. They are freezing, wet and in need of his assistance. Once he gets her and the baby to the cabin he realizes she is running from someone. Marcie wakes up in a cabin with a man she doesn't know and she's then worried about what happened to her niece, Lily that she had with her. The man she's running from won't let her go easily and once James gets her full story she feels bad bringing her problems to his door. But James has secrets of his own and they may tear him and Marcie apart. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

I wanted so much to like this story. A heroine who is putting her life on the line for a baby, a celibate (virgin in this case) hero, and a rugged mountain setting...should be amazing, right? If only. If only they lived up to the idea I had of them before I started reading.

I just had a really hard time with the heroine's knee-jerk reactions that constantly put her in worse danger. Her courage was admirable, but she made things worse on multiple occasions and that didn't sit well with me. There were so many other things she could have done, that he could have done, but once again, we're all victims of their inability to communicate and think before acting. Which totally bites because I wanted to like this book!! The big conflict just didn't work for me either. A lot of build up and a whole lot of crazy that seemed more like a rushed resolution.

According to the Amazon reviews pouring in, it appears that I am in the minority. I usually love the author's work and snag almost every book she writes, but this story just did not live up to her usual standard, in my opinion.
