Six Weeks of Loving You

Rate this book
The news reporters called it a disaster.
The doctors called it a miracle.
I could still walk. I could still talk. I could still remember every little detail about the train crash.
Until I couldn’t.
Six weeks later, I lost my memory.
I woke up believing that it was the morning of the accident.
Six weeks after that, it happened again.
I have retrograde amnesia. I’ve damaged a part of my brain which allows me to recall the recent past. In other words, I have an extremely limited short-term memory – six weeks to be exact.
The train derailed eighteen months ago.
I’ve relived that morning twelve times.
When I meet Spencer Hale, I put up a huge fight.
I won’t let him in. I can’t let him in. But with each day that passes, my walls begin to come down.
I get one step closer to loving him.
And one step closer to losing him.
Welcome to the train wreck that is my life.

Six Weeks of Loving You is a beautiful and emotional story of true love meant to be while enduring the unimaginable. This book wasn't like anything I have read before, Karli's writing was breathtaking, the characters were endearing, and the romance was heart-wrenching ♥.

I loved Cora, I couldn’t help but empathize with her and everything she went through, but it was Spencer the one who did the book for me—his relentless, passionate, and sexy as fuck personality owned my heart. He's definitely book-boyfriend material. Also, his bromance with Adam was everything!

So why not 5 stars? The ending, I felt it was a bit rushed, and since I'm a greedy little thing—I desperately wanted MORE, but Karli had other plans, and I respected that because at the end of the day, they are her characters, she just let us enjoyed them for a while.

If you are looking for a story full of love, devotion, friendship, a swoon-worthy hero, and with some The Vow vibes, then you might enjoy this one ♥.

“What’s the difference in being your friend or being your lover? You’ll forget me regardless. So why can’t I choose what I want to be to you?”
“Because I don’t want you to get hurt. I don’t want you to get a broken heart.”
“Trust me, it’s already full of cracks.”

What a sweet and beautiful story! Six Weeks of Loving You is our first-time reading author Karli Perrins work and we adored her words. We could easily see this book becoming a movie as it played out before our eyes. It had a 50 First Dates/The Vow feel, with a real emotional and romantic pull, and the authors own stamp branded throughout the pages.

Imagine losing your memory every six weeks? Imagine the frustration and hurt as your mind presses stop only to start anew, never remembering what had come before? That’s the dilemma facing twenty nine year old, Cora. Her way of trying to remember is to keep a scrapbook of her life for the past 18 months, yet nothing can ever replace the precious vivid memories she’s lost.

Cora is a writer and spends a lot of time at Sanctum, a coffee shop owned by her best friend Roxy, hoping for inspiration and the words to come. Roxy is one of the few friends who has stood by Cora during her amnesia ordeal, and it is here Cora meets Spencer Hale, a barista working at Sanctum.

Cora is smitten by Spencer, but he’s a no go. Over eighteen months, Cora has built up humungous walls vowing never to date or become attached to someone, as she knows, after six weeks they will be lost to her amnesia. But she didn’t count on Spencer Hale! What a guy. He’s the swoony stuff of romance books, the guy who warms our hearts and sends us giddy with his love and patience with Cora, yet persistent in the hope that her feelings for him would change.

“I like you, Cora.”
“My life is messy.”
He closes his eyes. “So is mine.”
“We sound like the perfect disaster.”
“Or a beautiful one.”

There was much to love about this story, and we were eager to watch it unfold, hoping Spencer and Cora could find a way to be together, wanting everything to fall into place. Could it? Would Cora bend before Spencer broke? And could they have a future when Cora can’t remember her past?

We loved the humour and banter between all the characters, Karli Perrin has a fabulous sense of humour and who wouldn’t fall in love with the bromance between Spencer and Cora’s sister’s fiancé, Adam? It was hilarious! An enjoyable story with a few twists, where the swoon, emotion and engaging storyline made this a fabulous weekend read.

What a book this was!! Ive luvd this author since her very first book April Showers. I luv her writing, stories and characters they alway have me on the edge of my seat and can never put them down. But this book is something else it's brilliant, I was hooked from the very first page. Cora and Spencer are just amazing and what they go through in this book is heart breaking. You can feel the love between them and then finding it again is just beautiful but also sad in a ways. I was rooting for them from the start I was dying to know what was goin to happen.

Spencer is such a loyal character like I just said you can feel the love this man has for Cora. His banter with her is great and the way he is with her is amazing. There isn't a thing in the world that this man wouldnt do for her. This just made him one of the best heroes and book boyfriends ever for me and just to top it off he is smoking hot to. This guy can do no wrong in my eyes he is just perfect.

Then there is Cora god where I start with this woman. She is such a strong character to go through all this every 6 weeks and stay pretty cool about it is just wow. Does she hate it hell ye does it drive her crazy ye but she deals with it the best way she can. With the luv of her best friend and sister she can do it. Plus there is Spencer to alway pick up what's left even though she fights to keep him away and safe. But there just made to be together when your meant to be its hard to fight.

This book is an emotional rollercoaster but it's a ride you have to take. I would highly recommend this book and every book Karli as done. This book is a lil different to get others but it's written so well. She really knows how to such you into the story. By the end of this book I felt like I'd been goin through it all with Cora and Spencer. I have to say this is one of my favourite books of this year. Everything about it was so good I think I went through all the emotions and that's what I luvd about this. It has me crying, laughing, happy and sad. I think this book will be stuck in me head for while. I can't wait to see what Karli does next if it's anything like this book I'll be so excited.

Cora had an accident and a part of her brain was damaged. As a result she got retrograde amnesia, which basically means short term memory. More specifically every six weeks her memory is wiped out and she wakes up thinking it's the day of her accident.

It's been 18 months later and Cora meets Spencer, a smoking hot guy who works with her best friend and he hits on her relentlessly. But Cora puts up a fight and doesn't let him through her walls, because what's the point if six weeks later she won't remember him?

I've read many books by Karli, but this is my most favorite by far. I loved loved looooooved it!!! I read this in one sitting and I don't remember when was the last time I did that!!😻😻😻 I don't know how much I can say without spoiling, but I truly enjoyed this storyline. I'm a sucker for stories that have to do with lack of memory and this gave me some The Vow vibes, even though it wasn't exactly that.

Spencer is definitely a book boyfriend with all the sassy, flirty, funny attitude he had. Even with his cheesy lines, I still couldn't help but smile at his scenes. Also, his bromance with Andrew was awesome! I enjoyed all the secondary characters, the struggle that Cora went through, her inner thoughts and overwhelming feelings. I felt it all through Karli's writing.

I definitely recommend this book! It will give you many emotions, it will make you smile, laugh, swoon and cry. I already feel like rereading this and that's not something I do usually. I loved it that much.

Karli, Karli, Karli - you are really trying to do me in with this one?!?!

I have been reading Karli's books since she published her first one 6 years ago. And with each book, I see her talent grow and blossom. She is my UK diamond in the rough writer. I love her stories and her characters so much.

Six Weeks of Loving You is probably her most poignant story to date. Without giving anything away except the concept of this book is this - if you have seen the movie 50 First Dates, then you have an idea of what to expect. This book has a character with the same medical diagnosis, retrograde amnesia. She has an extremely limited short-term memory; six weeks to be exact.

I won't go into any details of this book because it needs to be lived as you read the book. Spencer Hale is a man that will win you over instantly. His extremely giving and loving heart will have you in puddles as soon as he graces the pages.

Cora is dealing with what for many would be a debilitating issue. Every six weeks, she wakes thinking it's the morning of the train accident. In the last eighteen months, she along with her friends and family help her realize what day it truly is and what happened through a scrap book. So while she may not remember what happened in the last eighteen months, she has this "memory book" to help guide her and find balance again.

This book was a beautiful read. It was the perfect pace for this story and these characters. I have to be honest and say that I love that Karli went against what most would consider the norm for the ending in this style of book. While I may not like what happens with a particular character, there is a lot unknown and I think it fits the story (no, no one dies). A lot of readers may not like ending, but I feel that she has left this very open for a future novella in so many ways.

If you want a great story with characters that you will love, I urge you to read this one. Just know that the ending is not one that fits the "norm" for a contemporary romance but fits this story. Six Weeks of Loving You definitely is a unique and treasured read.

Unforgettable and beautiful

I don't know why it took me a couple of months before I read this book. I guess the pandemic has a way of bringing out the best and worst in people, and in my case, it made me a forgetful person.

Which coincidentally this book is all about.

Imagine having an amnesia where you lose your memories every six weeks. It may seem impossible to think about it, but my friend Google tells me things like this happen. The moment I came to realize about Cora's condition, I knew her story is going to make it to my newest favorite list. And then there's Spencer Hale..the book boyfriend I, as well as million other readers, love to read about and dream about. The epitome of true love.

I can't fully enumerate the number of times this book made me cry and wished Spencer Hale was a real man instead of being just a book boyfriend. He is one of a kind.

Here's the thing. While I was reading this book, I thought I was the one with amnesia so I kept asking my own husband and kids if I told them something about my self or something that happened in the past. They look at me with raised eyebrows, maybe they thought I was a little weird. Well, I'd like to blame Cora and Perrin for that, because this story felt so surreal. I don't know how to describe it, but I feel like there's been something that I've been missing in my life and I need to know about it.

Once again, Karli Perrin makes me wish I've been living in her world and meeting all these wonderful characters. I love love love how the story started and ended, although I am still clamoring for so much more. Truly this has been an unforgettably beautiful book!

Holy wow! This is The Vow meets 50 First dates! I'm so happy that I was able to read an advanced copy of Six Weeks of Loving You by new to me author Karli Perrin.

Due to a devastating accident that's happen within the last 18 months Cora has a type of amnesia that resets her memories every six weeks so anything that has happened within those last 18 months, boom.....gone!

Everyday Cora goes to her local coffee shop where her best friend Roxy works and sits in her corner working on her book but one day when she walks in she stops dead in her tracks, there's a new worker at Sanctum and he's drop dead gorgeous. His name is Spencer.

Spencer wants nothing more but to be in Cora's life but her walls are so far up......she doesn't date, she can't, she would never want to put someone in that postion only to hurt them by forgeting them 6 weeks later.

I read this in mere hours so obviously I enjoyed it immensly. Spencer really made the story for me if I'm honest. He is committed and devoted, sweet and intelligent, he's so sincere and heart warming and SEXY AF!!!

Cora. Cora tested me, I completely understand her position but I just feel like she was a little infuriating and exasperating at times.

Six Weeks of Loving You is a beautiful story of true love, perseverance and hope with dialogue that is brillant, sharp, funny and refreshing.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book. The blurb hooked me and I knew I’d be in for a frustrating but hopefully satisfying journey.

I really liked Cora’s character. Despite her memory issues, she seemed very grounded and understanding of her unfortunate situation. Her best friend was a great support and her sister was her rock.

I felt like Spencer’s character came off way too strong and some of the things he said to Cora were so off base for the “newness” of their relationship. It was those interactions that had me thinking there must be more than meets the eye with the story. I’m glad I didn’t let those weird verbal spars sway how I felt about the characters or the story because it did eventually all fall into place and make sense. The connection that Cora and Spencer shared was so apparent and I loved their back and forth banter.

The ending left me so sad and disappointed for the H/h! My heart wanted a HEA, and I certainly didn’t expect the whole story to come to a screeching halt in the last few chapters. But the author had bigger plans and I respected that. I didn’t mind how the book ended, except for Spencer having a kid with someone else. That broke my heart, especially since it was with someone he wasn’t even in a relationship with. It just seemed so out of character for him, given how much time and dedication he’d put into the relationship with Cora. Could the baby actually be Cora’s? Maybe? One could only hope.

Overall I enjoyed this quick read and would love to see the story pick up again in another book where it left off here! There was so much potential left unaddressed.

OMG this book!!! First of all, I just want a million more pages of this, please! I loved it so freaking much.

Spencer is magical and I loved him so much from the very beginning. He’s just so cute and positive and encouraging and in love. I loved him a ton.

I love the way this story is set up. We’re right there with Cora. We don’t know what’s been happening since her accident and are left to pick up on the clues at the same time she is. I feel like there’s various ways the structure of the story could have been done, but this one was absolutely perfect.

It’s heartbreaking to watch Cora deny Spencer and feeling like he’s probably more to her than he’s letting on but not knowing exactly what. Watching them fall in love and watching their hearts break had me all kinds of emotional. Once they explain the truth of her and Spencer I fell for him even more. He’s just absolutely everything.

This book is an incredibly fast read. I sat down with it and before I even knew it, I was already at 30%. I loved every second of it. The ending worried me for a second. It was ending, it was so close to the end and I still couldn’t see what was going to happen. That tends to make me a bit nervous but Karli knocked it out of the park with this one. She created a story that feels light while dealing with a heavy subject. As much as it made me feel emotional, I also felt so happy and full of joy reading it. It was honestly a perfect balance. I loved it!!

I had the amazing chance to beta read this book. And what an honor that was!!

This book gave me so many feels! The chemistry between Spencer and Cora from the very beginning was so amazing, I could FEEL it! I went in blind without knowing what I was getting myself into. I’m glad I did!

The romance in this book from Spencer made me swoon, every single time he did something to woo Cora.

Cora is a strong character as well. For what she goes through all the time, she takes it in a lot more stride than anyone I know could! She’s not one of these characters who just doesn’t listen or talk things through. There were parts where she clearly had to work through her emotions but they were warranted.

Then you get to the end. Oh boy oh boy, the end! I’d have to say the end is my favorite ;) and a fantastic opening to a happily ever after!

Everyone needs to get their hands on this amazing, happily ever after book! You won’t regret it!! Absolute 5 stars!

I’ve been dying to get my hands on this book since I first heard about it and then the author dropped the cover and blurb and I couldn’t wait to dive in.
I read this book in less then 24 hours, I got hooked to the story and just wanted to find out what was going to happen.
It did take me a while to connect with the characters but once I did I loved them.
Cora and Spencer’s Love is a unique one. It’s been tested by Cora’s amnesia but Spencer has stuck by her through it all. I really enjoyed their banter and chemistry together.
I’m not really sure on the ending, I thought it was perfect until I read one part that ruined it for me. Something that seemed out of character for Spencer.
Overall a enjoyable second chance romance story!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 STARS

Karli Perrin is a new to me author and I found that this book was highly entertaining. Cora and Spencer have is truly unique connection. Cora is adamant when she decides she doesn't do relationships because of her issues, but Spencer pushes it and he shows just how much he cares and wants her despite her hang-ups.

The ending of the story really got me, my heart hurt for the characters, but left me hopeful. Mind you, Spencer's revelation did get me a bit upset because it didn't seem like something he would do. Overall, I highly recommend reading their EPIC love story. Six Weeks of Loving You by Karli Perrin will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ELITE!!!

“I’d rather have six weeks with you than an eternity with somebody else.”

The day before I started reading Six Weeks of Loving You the song I'll go on Loving You by Alan Jackson got stuck in my head. While reading the book I realized it is the perfect fit for Cora and Spencer.

What if the love of your life forgot you every six weeks. Would you be able to go on loving them, would you put your life on hold trying to prove time and time again that you are meant to be.

What if your memory reset every six weeks and wiped your memory back to the morning of the very accident that ruined it all. What if every person that you've met since that fateful day disappear every six weeks and what would you do if you meet someone that you think you could fall for, that you could love. Would you be able to let yourself fall.

This story is so heartbreaking but shows the strength of love and doing whatever it takes to keep the one you love.

Such a brilliantly written story. I will definitely be reading more by this author.

90% story 4 stars, end- 3.75
I must say I have watched movies regarding someone with amnesia but reading a book on it? This is my first.

The quick back and forth witty banter was hilarious. There was much more dialogue than inner thoughts from the main character which was refreshing. The beginning, body up to about 90% was awesome. After that? 🤔 it brought out a lot of unexpected emotions in me.

Cora has a best friend Roxy and sister Connie that without both of these women I’m sure she would have turned out to be a very different person due to her medical challenge. Her support system is absolutely amazing.
Spencer? Just perfect for her. The sacrifices he makes for his love for her is heartwarming.

What they go through breaks my heart though. I am unable to shake the feelings. The ending was definitely not what I expected and I can’t wrap my head around it.
It just makes you think and wonder....
I would have been happier if the end extended a tad bit more. It was powerful with the control it had over my emotions.

A good book, just very different, and still has a HEA. It captures your heart though and doesn’t let go. Would have been 4 stars or higher if wasn’t for the end.

Second Chance Romance.

Seems like I now have a new trope I like when reading books. Not only am I a fan of a second chance romance, but when you add in amnesia, it gives it an added twist.

Cora had been in a train wreck and suffered a brain injury that leaves her with short term memory lost every six weeks. For the last eighteen months, she wakes up every six weeks and starts her life from the day off the accident again. She has accepted that she wakes and time has lapsed since the accident and can deal with that. What she can’t deal with is a relationship with a guy she didn’t know before the injury. She couldn’t put anyone through that, not even the cute barista at her besties cafe. But what does Spencer want?

This story was done really well. The way Cora’s family and friends help her every six weeks navigate her catch up and keep moving forward is sweet and touching. As for Spencer, gosh he was adorable. You know that feeling of falling for someone, that new relationship feeling, imagine experiencing that every six weeks! He would do anything to be apart of Cora’s life, and it’s all worth it, every single bit.

I knew it right from the very start, but it still gave me chills. So much feels in this, like really. Spencer is indeed a boyf-- nope, a husband-material even. THIS WHOLE BOOK LITERALLY DAMAGED ME, and at the same time fixed some stitches inside me. The scenes smoothly flow, and the narration is good. Pretty good. The emotions are vividly shown, my heart went from crying to laughing so hard. Bet I'll need more time to move on from this book than the usual...

Now that I can just about see through my swollen eyes, I’m going to attempt to write a review that this book deserves. I am certain that once I start thinking about this beautiful story I’m going to start crying again - so this may take some time. I write reviews for you to read, to let you know my feelings about the books I’ve just read, and I do my best to write them without spoilers. I hope that when you have decided this is the book for you, and it is the most incredible story that I urge you to read, that you are able to enjoy it without knowing the finer details before you start.

It is unimaginable what Cora must go through every single day, but she receives the most incredible support from her family and close friends. She is such a fabulous person and someone who you would want to have in your close circle of friends, so I can see that it is no hardship for them to help her.

I fell in love with Spencer almost instantly, how could I not, he is just perfect in every way. The chemistry between him and Cora is unquestionable right from the very beginning, and their connection blew me away.

I thought the author wrote the most amazing story that highlights love, devotion, heartache, sadness, happiness and strength. I adored the interactions among all the characters - you will laugh and smile often! I could empathise with both Cora and Spencer and this is obviously why I was affected by the story so much.

Six Weeks of Loving You is a must read. It is going to be up there with my top reads of all time, not just 2019. I applaud the author for her incredible writing and I can honestly say that I wouldn’t change one single thing that happens in the book. I do know that I, and everyone who reads this story is going to be thinking about Cora and Spencer for a very long time to come, and it's a book that I will re-read often.

Where do I even begin with this book? Every six weeks Cora wakes up without any memory of what happened during those six weeks. She was in a horrible accident which gave her amnesia. And then she meets Spencer Hale. She can't be with him. In six weeks she will forget he ever existed, leaving him behind. But as each day passes, her walls begin to crumble, bringing her one step closer to falling in love with him. And one step closer to losing him.
This book... I am still at a loss for words. I seen this cover and read this blurb months ago, and just had to get my hands on it. This cover is gorgeous. And that blurb just drew me in. I had to know what happens... This story, and these characters made me feel sooo much. I laughed with them, I swooned with them, and I cried with them. It was such a amazing touching story, and beautifully written. Both Cora and Spencer's characters were relatable. And I understood where both Cora and Spencer were coming from. How could Cora essentially start a relationship, knowing that in six weeks she wasn't going to remember him? And how could Spencer not want to give it a shot- if it would be something that made both of them happy? Falling in love has never been so complicated. Six Weeks of Loving You was my first time reading anything from Karli Perrin. I am an instant fan!

Oh my goodness! When I wasn't smiling, I was in tears. There was never a dull moment and this story kept my attention the entire time.

"That night, I cry myself to sleep. And when I wake up the next morning, I have no idea why my pillow is damp. "
Cora was in an accident 18 months ago that injured her brain and she loses her memory every six weeks. I couldn't even imagine knowing that I had six weeks to build a life only to lose it the next day and forget EVERYTHING.

This story/ plot was genius!

Even though I caught on to what was going on, I didn't know how the author would let the story play out. With laughter and tears - that's how!

My only regret was I wish I knew more details to what was revealed at the end. (Sorry no spoilers!) It didn't change my opinion of the story by any means but my inquisitive self wanted more details.

I can't wait to see what she does next!

What a beautiful story!! My brain can’t formulate the right words to describe this book or how it made me feel.

Six Weeks of Loving You is a story full of new love, old friendships, true dedication and loyalty, and one hell of a swoon worthy protagonist!

After just a few percent I had fallen in lust with Spencer. And by the end, I flat out loved him. I don’t snot cry over just anyone!!!

Cora is such a unique character, the emotions she must experience blows my mind and makes my heart hurt. I FELT her inner turmoil as if it were my own and I couldn’t help but empathise with her. Such clever writing on Karli’s part.

Side note, I love the bromance between Spencer and Adam!!

Thank you, Karli, for a wonderful story that would make the most cynical a believer in true and lasting love. A love that conquers ANYTHING. <3

First off, this was my first book of Karli. I’m blown away. The story telling of this book was incredible.

Cora and Spencer love story isn’t your typical love story. When you love some one you don’t expect the other one to forget after six weeks. And that’s what happens for Cora. She has to relive the emotions of the accident and not remember what happened the month prior. But when Spencer pushes you see how much he adores her from the beginning. How he tries to make it work. Even though she pushes and says it can’t be anything other than what it is

This has to be one of the best reads I’ve read this year. You really need to live in the moment. Without giving to much away that’s what both Spencer and Cora taught me. Everyone needs to read this incredible, beautiful story. You won’t regret it.

I found a new book boyfriend, his name is Spencer and he loves sooo fiercely, so much everything for the love of his life. Cora was in a train derailment accident 18 months ago, she’s very lucky to be alive. But the accident took away a lot. At the end of every 6 weeks, her life within the 6 weeks is wiped clean from her memory. So, meeting new people, relationships are tricky and definitely something she doesn’t want to pursue. BUT, this guy Spencer isn’t making it easy on her. There is so much that can happen within those 6 weeks, is it worth it only into forget. Truths are revealed, and Spencer about gutted me. 😭😭😭

I wanted more for the ending but this was a really good read. You’ll fall for Spencer and how much he loves soo hard.😍

This was my first book by Karli Perrin. I really enjoyed the chemistry and banter between Cora & Spencer

Cora is smart and sassy & suffers from amnesia that resets her short term memories every six weeks.

Spencer is the swoon worthy, very persistent hot guy that catches Coras attention.

As attracted as Cora is to Spencer she has her walls up and rebuffs almost all of Spencer's advances. There are twist and turns in the story that I won't give away. I loved the others characters who add a lot to the story.

The only thing I didn't care for was the ending. It ended very abruptly and left me with questions. I wish there was a bit more to the story. Other than that I did enjoy the book.

Had no idea what I was getting myself into when I dove into this book. Wow. Spencer and Cora, I want to say I had this story figured out a little after I started but I didn’t expect a lot of the stuff that happened. Heartwarming yet gut wrenching, but all around a good book. 4.5 stars! ♥️

Cora had an accident and every six weeks her memory during those six weeks get wiped out and she wakes up to the day of the accident. Then there’s Spencer who she has an instant connection with, he wants all in just one shot but she wants to avoid him and hurt him. Will Spencer bring down her walls?
