Alphabits #3

Lost. Stolen. Forgotten… until the Alphabits step in.

A Team A.L.P.H.A. spinoff series.

Gizmo Jones has an obsession with technology, and he doesn’t care who knows it. The smarter, more connected, and shinier it is, the better. When Gizmo and Ozzy are sent to the backwoods of West Virginia, the worst Gizmo thinks he’ll face is a couple of rednecks trying to shoot down one of his fleet of drones. He doesn’t expect to run smack dab into a cult masquerading as a summer camp who are determined to separate shifter kids from their animal sides.

Caleb Brooks had been one of those kids once. He’d escaped by pretending he was “cured”, and then holing up in the middle of the woods with no connection to technology, shifting freely, but staying close, because he couldn’t abandon the kids still trapped there.

The Alphabits know they need to bring the law down on the camp, but they aren’t the only ones coming for them. STAHP is on the loose and where they prowl... mayhem follows.

The Alphabits aren’t vigilantes. These former soldiers and officers of the law have to do things by the book—even when it tears them apart to do so. But once all their ducks are in a row, the bad guys had better beware! You do not want this team of protective alphas on your tail.

This is the third in the Alphabits series and you can expect to find naughty, knotty scenes of steamy passion, along with a lot of potty-mouth language, and some violence. Prepare for the return of your favorite cat shifters, two best friends who will do anything for each other, and more surveillance equipment than the NSA. HEA definitely included, intended for 18 and older listeners only. Seriously, would you expect anything less from Susi Hawke and Crista Crown?

I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!

I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.

As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.

I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! Conversion is the third book in Susi Hawke and Crista Crown’s adorable Alphabits series. The stories of shifters who rescue shifter children will tug on your heartstrings is the best possible ways, and the fact that members of the team find their mates along the way is just icing on the cake!

Luckily for fans of John Solo, we have the added pleasure of listening to his warm and sensual voice as he performs this series. As always, the variety of voices and accents he uses lend themselves perfectly to these characters.

Conversion starts out with a heartbreaking scene of a conversion camp for young shifters. The counselor is training them not to shift into their sinful animal forms and brainwashing them about the evils of being a shifter. Most of them are foster kids whose parents never wanted them and have been victimized before they even set foot on camp soil. The opening scene shows their cruelty as they lock up a child in a closet in her shifter form and abandoning her.

There’s a very sweet romance as Gizmo finds his mate Caleb. An escapee himself, Caleb has lived most of his life away from civilization doing his part in the underground railroad. His knowledge of sex and romance has been gleaned from magazines and books, and the love scenes are everything you’d hope for.

Another very enjoyable episode in the Alphabits series!

This was another just fine book in this series. Of the three books I've read so far, this one is probably my favorite, but that doesn't mean I thought it was great.

I'll get my nitpicking things out of the way first and just say that I really did not like the nicknames for Micah and Gizmo in this book. Micah called Gizmo "hot stuff" the whole book and Gizmo called him "green eyes." I'm just not a fan of pet names that are kinda out-of-the-box like that so that kind of bothered me.

The plot of this book was obviously somewhat similar to the plots of the other books in this series and I thought it was fine. These books are always quick, fun reads for me so I can't say I wasn't entertained, but the plot was nothing extraordinary.

I thought the romance in this was fine. Because these books are so short, I do always feel like the romances are a little underdeveloped because we have so little time to get to know the characters on their own before they're thrown into the relationship and having children. I just wish we had a little more character development so we could root for the romance more.

I keep picking these books up because they are such easy reads and I do have a pretty good time with them but there is just so much else I want to read that I think I'm going to really have to think about if I want to pick up the fourth book in the near future considering none of these books have blown me away yet.

Overall: 4.5 Stars!

Conversion is book 3 in the Alphabits series and it needs to be read/listened to in order so you get a broader picture/further enjoyment of this world Susi Hawke and Crista Crown have created.

I enjoyed reading Gizmo and Micah's story. They had a lot of chemistry and worked well together. These two authors certainly know how to bring the heat into their books and this one was not the exception! *fans self*

The start with the scene at the conversion camp was heartbreaking, though, and I felt so bad for the kids that had been sent there, especially Chloe. I'm really intrigued about STAHP and I hope we get to see more of them in the future.

John Solo is an amazing narrator and his voices and the emotion he puts in his work really elevate the books to a higher level. So, I have no trouble recommending this short, hot, entertaining audiobook. You definitely won't regret picking it up!

Micah is impressive in his dedication to saving campers from such a young age. Helping them move on to the next stop on the underground railroad. Gizmo and his addiction to all gadgets lead him to his fated mate as the guys are rescuing the kids from the camp. This story put a whole new spin on the horror of 'conversion therapy'. Gizmo proves that he's much more than a techy geek but a true alpha protector. The way that everyone jumped in to provide a safe place for all the rescued kids was wonderful, especially Tony and Adrian's moms.

Story/Idee 4,4/5
Erotik 4,6/5
Charaktere 4,4/5
Sprecher 4,6/5
Gesamt 4,4/5

What a great third book! It captured me from the get-go. Susi & Crista have created a fabulous world filled with incredible characters. The Team Alphabit boys are back! This book is full of drama, old friends, old sometime allies, crazy relatives, a ton of catnip humor, compassion, passion, fated mates, sex, and love. And kids. Cute kids.
This story introduces Micah, a loner omega who spends his time rescuing kids from a "camp" where the "counselors" try to separate them from their animals. Micah lives totally off the grid; no cell phone service, no internet, no tech. Enter Gizmo, Team Alphabit's tech wiz. The Team is trying to shut down the camp, return a missing child, rescuing the other kids in the process. Gizmo only needs one sniff to know Micah is his fated mate. They must put their attraction aside until the kids are safe. Enter STAHP, crazy cat shifter vigilantes. Things go wild from then on.
I could not put this book down. It was riveting, a true sensory overload. It has everything you look for in a great read. You will Love this book. Although it stands alone, I recommend reading the first 2 Alphabit books.
Yes, there is violence and death. Crazy cat shifters who lose all control. Strong language. MM sex. Mature themes.
This book is intended for mature 18+ readers only.

I feel like this one could have used a trigger warning before diving in? It might be my fault for not checking the book description, but I’m reading the omnibus edition...and it could still have used a trigger warning. This one deals with a conversion camp for shifter children and it opens with a scene that could have been triggering for someone. It wasn’t pleasant but at least having read through the book I know that the children in the scene are safe.

I feel like this book had a lot more insta-love than the other books. But I also really liked the tropes that this one had: first times, book lover/tech lover, found family (literally), etc.. I love the absurd humor that gets mixed into these books and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. Also? Micah being such a book nerd and wanting to try all the things in his books? 🤣 That was so funny that I just giggled. And Gizmo was just the sweetest. The fact that he and Micah were on the same page with wanting a huge family was so cute.

Honestly, Conversion was a good read with the exception of needing a trigger warning or two. I’m giving this a solid three and a half stars.

Oh what they were doing to those child angered me to no end & some of them did not get what was coming to them. So we have Micah who was an escapee from the conversion camp & lives off the grid. He helps any of the kids that have escaped the camp move on to a better place. The Alphabits are called to save the kids at this camp without Micah knowing it. But when Micah see's Gizmo, they know they are mates. Gizmo is a tech nerd and can't believe that Micah has no type of tech. The cat shifters that enter the scene are beyond out of control and the one scene was very gross. After Micah meets the rest of the group and them accepting him as family, he knows that he is not alone any longer. The only thing I had an issue is was with Gizmo. Dude seriously, your mate is about to give birth & you go on a mission. Dumb a**. But at least he gets there in time so all is good.

My favorite pair yet!!

I loved Gizmo from the start but to have him find his mate was an adorable and hot bit of fun!! Gizmo is a techy geek on minute then a red hot Alpha the next add in the strong, shy and isolated Caleb and you have a perfect match!

I enjoyed the shifter approach to conversion therapy in this story and Susi and Crista treated this topic with respect and care and the kids involved are just wonderful, especially once rescued.

As an escapee of this camp, Caleb has made it his life mission to help any kids like him and do what he can to save fellow escapees. Once he crosses paths with Gizmo on a rescue/recon mission they scent each other and his future is changed forever. I loved Caleb’s sweet virginity and Gizmo’s constant energy. Their coming together was hot and as always there has to be a bit of humor thrown in with the team delightfully interrupting! This story also involves more interactions with STAPH and their overarching goals, it will be interesting to see where Susi and Crista take this story arc.

By far, my favorite fated pair and I’m loving seeing the Alphabits Family Grow! Highly recommended series!!

Gizmo and Ozzy are the two Alphabits Squad members who initially go to a West Virginia backwoods summer camp to end a very brutal practice. Susi Hawke and Crista Crown bring attention in an unique way to the practice of conversion (camps) usually run by zealots to Get (pray) the Gay out of youth and young adults.

In this book the twist is a cult like group of people who secretly work to separate young shifters from their animals, by demonizing the animal who's an intrical part of the child. It's like a schizophrenic break. The child is irrevocably broken.

This actually turns out to be a job on a much larger scale than just three shifters can handle, as Gizmo meets his mate an Omega who has been rescuing young runaways from the camp. Therefore several Rescue teams converge to help the beleaguered youngsters and mete out justice to those running the camp.

Gizmo's Mate

Warning-this story contains some extremely violent scenes, that may disturb many readers. Team Alphabits is looking into reports of shifter children missing from a camp. As they investigate the camp, they realize the situation is far worse than they could imagine. It was a conversion camp to turn shifter children away from their animal sides, using brutal methods to achieve the goal. Clearly, it is a reference to gay conversion camps, where gay children are brutally treated to suppress who they are. While gathering intel, Gizmo runs into his fated mate, Micah, a former escapee from the camp, who now aids other escapees. Lots of action, but also violence. You need to read this book to follow the series, but you might want to skip the chapter at the end about the mission to capture the camp personnel , if you have triggers.

*WARNING* contains explicit sexual situations and violence
Micah escaped that horrid camp and has devoted his life to helping other shifter children to escape it too.
Gizmo loves technology, so when him and the Alphabits are sent to the backwoods to look into a camp he naturally brings drones. When Giz finds out close to the camp is a dead zone, he is a bit lost.
I have enjoyed this series from the start. I like some characters better than others, but these characters are usually pretty jovial. This story has lots of feels because it involves endangered children. There is romance found in an unexpected place. There an odd coupling. Many things happen in this story, some good, some not. The story is well written with a great plot.

Another great add to the series. Gizmo and Micah!!! I've loved Giz since the beginning and couldn't wait to get to his story. This plot is intense and hit me more so then the others; a conversion camp is scary more so that these exist out there for trying to turn people straight. The twist here with Shifters breaks your heart. Micah has escaped and trying to help others and had no idea he would run into his mate. These two together are sexy, sweet and unstoppable! Adding in more side characters to the Universe that keeps getting better and better. I loved the Micah scenes explaining his POV on how he views his life, where to go from here now that his life work is over. Taking shifters and making them realistic is brilliant. Can't wait for the next.

This was a very busy book! It was not overwhelming at all though. Everything flowed very well and there were no lagging parts. Gizmo and Micah are complete opposites. Technology is Gizmos whole world, Micah has lived off the grid since he was 13. He spends his time rescuing young shifters as part of an underground railroad. He is an amazingly strong omega. We got to see some of our old friends from Team A.L.P.H.A. and get an appearance from STAHP. We also get to meet a couple of great kids and get to see new families form. There is plenty of humor sprinkled in with all the action too. Can you say catnip? All of this came together to form a fast paced, sexy, funny, and interesting read.

Gizmo finds a mate!

I laughed hard, loved the story line even though it did tick me off a bit. But loved the dynamic of the main characters.

Character breakdown;

Giz: fun guy crazy family but man are they cool. He was more lay back too, more like a teenager excited about all the new tech lol.

Micah: it was nice to have an omega doing what he did. I loved how easily he adapted to everything and quickly took on Giz family.

I loved the catnip scene and I am totally curious about S.T.A.H.P want to know more!

Great book definitely recommend!

Another great story.

The ladies have continued to impress. When I first started with Team A.L.P.H.A., I wasn't sure if it would be my cup of tea. Boy was I wrong it was a great series. Now the Alphabets are carrying on the tradition, saving children and helping them survive their ordeals. Plus there are lots of happy endings for the characters in the stories. This series hits on the abuse that many children suffer and helping them survive and work through their traumatic times is just one of the teams objectives. I also do love a happy ending.

Conversion

In book three the team was assigned to scope out a camp were pups were going missing from. The camp was horrific. It basically tried to instill in them that being a shifter was bad and would do things and if you shifted you were punished. On this assignment Gizmo met his true mate Micah. Micah once ran away from the same camp when he was a pup. Now he helps other pubs that run away from that camp. After rescuing the children they planned to have those responsible handled legally. The organization STOP had other plans for them.

This story is the getting together of Micah and Gizmo as well as the placement of kids from a shifter conversion camp.
Micah meets Owen, a young wolf shifter, who runs away from the conversion camp and is terying to find help for his friend, Chloe, a siamese cat shifter.
Micah meets Gizmo from the Alhpabits when he is scoping out the camp and trying to work out a plan to liberate it.
Some funny moments when a group of large cat shifters comes into contact with catnip and a HEA for Micah and Gizmo.

This is the third book in the series and it is as good as the others, get ready to meet Gizmo's family they are a hoot. Loved this book.

A great story with a wonderful narrator. When Micah and Gizmo meet, their connection and attraction are instant as they realize they are fated mates. They must join together along with the rest of the Alphabits to take down the hidden conversion camp. What follows is lots of mayhem, humor, and great sexy times. The narrator did a great job with the characters and with the story itself. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

I enjoyed the story of the conversion camp. Those poor kids, being made to think they were wrong/bad for being shifters. The Aplhabits were awesome, as was Team Alpha.
Gizmo and Michah were so cute. I loved their relationship. Michah finally has a family and Giz, the love of his life.

Loved Gizmo and Micah

Is there a spy for STAHP in the parent organization for Team ALPHA and the Alphabits? I certainly don't believe that any of the team members are leaking the info, but it's a bit suspicious that STAHP shows up every time either team seems to make a significant find.

I round these stories up as they are so easy to read. Its just a complete escape where you know what is on offer and just relax. These two MCs were interesting with MC Caleb's background being very pertinent. Love the add of the kidlets.

Looking forward to Cyrus' book...

Narrated by John Solo - his voice is very well suited to this sort of story.
