If Tael unravels its secrets, humanity may have a fighting chance. But only if they find the traitor hidden within their rebel ranks who threatens their extinction…
The Rax by C. G. Harris is an action-packed science fiction book. I chose it hoping it would be appropriate for YA, and I was not disappointed. It has a clever plot line dealing with aliens and a post-apocalyptic earth. I believe the action plot would keep most interested. There is a "disability" woven into the plot. Great mix of characters, with both strong male and female characters. The violence is not overdone and could be appropriate for younger grades. It includes some romance, but is between the young people and kind of sweet.
This was such a unique dystopian story and I loved that the main character was a boy who is blind. I love seeing the "disabled" being placed in capable roles. Being disabled myself and the mother of five kids with various disabilities, you have to love authors who embrace those of us that others fear to touch or narrate.
The Rax is an action packed, imaginative, and thrilling! In a future world where humans have been stripped of technology, enslaved, and controlled by fear, a small band of rebels seek to overthrow the brutal aliens who have invaded the Earth. Great main characters who you'll want to spend more time with and a plot that won't let you put the book down.
