Kestra Pingree is a creative who doesn’t know how to stop. They are first and foremost a writer and storyteller with an endless library of books in their head just waiting to be typed. They are also an artist and animator, as well as a singer, songwriter, and voice actor. One day they swear they’re going to make their own video game, too.
If it involves creating, they are there.
They can also be seen cuddling their cat, reading, or playing video games.
Tredje gången jag försöker läsa den här boken och jag klickar verkligen inte med någon av karaktärerna. Det känns bara krystat och framtvingat allt och jag sitter mer och rullar mina ögon än att läsa. Kom ungefär 16 % in sedan ger jag upp.
I’m not one that can keep interest in series that go to long. However this one kept me interested from beginning to end. A lot happens in this final book.
At first it seemed like they were going to make it all sweet but they threw in a lot of action. They also introduced some more fairy tale items that made me question where this book was headed. I thought perhaps they would make this too far fetched however it was brought together well.
The first two books in this series spanned 200-300 pages, while this one hits the scene at over 600!! Now, I’m all for long books, I love them, but there was some parts of this book that could have been culled for a smoother read. That said, it was still a decent end to an interesting saga, one that finally brings an end to the Prime War and renewed interest in the Badlands. There were too many times I felt sorrow for this small pack, but they pulled through - a bit damaged, but they made it.
First person, multiple POV, Slow burn Fantasy RH, HEA. MMMFM (M/M scene present) Rating = R (adult only) Character age range = 18+
Pros: - World building. - Side characters make the story. - Good use of multiple POV
Cons; - Drawn out. - Some scenes were disjointed. - Lacked Emotional punch for a RH.
I had been anxiously waiting for this one to come out. The beginning tends to drag a bit at first, but it's basically the fact that it's filling in the parts that have been missed. It still goes based on each person's POV which is a good thing, BUT there were times it was like information overload.
I felt bad for Sorissa and her mates with some of the things that were pulled but, as the descriptions stated there was a HEA on this one. It is a very well written series and I loved it. There were parts that made me wish I could reach into a book and smack a few upside the head, but I guess that's just a mark of good story telling.
I don’t even know why I bothered finishing this book. Honestly I don’t know why I continued after the first. This series has poor writing, contradicts itself, has the weakest “strong” female character, and the most obnoxious male characters. The version I had did not have TW listed and there is a very serious TW that should have been warned about. Ugh, I just wasted so much time with this book.
Well, it’s finished! It was still good but not as good as the previous two installments. Things were cleaned up well in regard to the storyline.I will say there should be a trigger warning involving miscarriage. Some of the characters definitely got on my nerves in this one. There were also very redundant internal conversations that were agonizing to get through.
Omg this book has so much pack in it. I'm not saying much but be ready with the tissues I was blubbering at least twice with this book. I love the dynamic of the main characters they were amazing 🌶 🍆
I honestly expected this last part to turn out differently than it did. But it certainly didn't disappoint me, this book exceeded my expectations! It was exciting, dark but so incredibly emotional, I had to wipe away a few tears.
I really enjoyed this series! I devoured it quickly and loved every bit of it. I'm a sucker for a multiple POV book. And the spice is just ✨chefs kiss✨ more to come later once I sit on it.
Wow you better hold on because a lot happens in this book! Hope, betrayal, heartbreak, loss, love, unity, new beginnings. It was action packed but wonderful right up until the end!
Final Thoughts on the Lost Princess of Howling Sky Trilogy:
I picked this series up as an experiment, wanting to sink my teeth into some lovely, trashy, smut. Plus.. werewolves. What can I say? I have a weakness for the paranormal.
I was pleasantly surprised by the premise. Set amid an ongoing war between Werewolves, Vampires, and Muggles; the protagonist, Sorissa, finds herself sold and captured. To be used as a pawn in the continuing battle between rival factions.
The worldbuilding captured my interest, and I found myself wanting to know more about the chaotic environment and political factions. Which was lucky, as the romance is a slow burn. More so in the second and third installments.
Sorissa is effectively a blank slate of a character and doesn't develop much throughout the novels. I feel like this was probably intentional in order for the reader to fill in the gaps, but it didn't do it for me. I preferred the times when Sorissa would show some flaws rather than her infinite 'goodness.'
Overall, the first book 'Taken By Werewolves' had a lot of promise which I found petered off in the latter installments. There were some juicy moments, and even some heartbreak along the way, but ultimately the series was just OK for me. 'Taken By Werewolves' was by far my favorite, and I enjoyed the initial introductions and friction between the protagonist and her Mates. Unfortunately, the other two novels, despite having some kickassery, did drag too much for me to get past.
