What if co-incidences in our lives are nothing but a result of a dice thrown by some higher being?
What if, to the heavens, our lives are nothing but rows of dominos ready to be put into action?
What if we all are mere pieces of pawns carefully played upon by a cosmic chessmaster?

'That Thing About You' is an uncommon story of a common man rejected in love.

This is a story of a man walking on the path of self-discovery.

Soon, his life goes through a lot of unexpected turns—from doubting his sanity and visiting a psychologist to a failed arranged marriage attempt made by his parents.

Everything in his life seems to be in fast-forward mode. One thing that does not change, however, is this unusual “friend” of his who refuses to reveal her identity and chooses to appear at her whim.

That Thing About You is a debut book written by Mayank Chandna (pen name Abhaidev). The cover page gives an idea about a romantic story, but it is more of a soul searching where characters are merely pawns.

Abhaidev successfully creates suspense in the story which hooked the reader to the end. The language is easily understandable, and narration is smooth. The typical Indian parents and their wish to saw their son married are mentioned very well. The story revolves around Subodh, so the other characters didn't get much space. Overall, the story is gripping and recommendable. It's a perfect blend of destiny and coincidences.

Twisted. Intense. Deviously fun. Deceptive. Creepy. and unsettling.

I devoured this book in two days and didn't want to put it down! I was quickly questioning every move every character made. From beginning to end, I was all in!

The author Abhaidev wields some kind of power with his combined words. That mysterious “it” factor present in the book, allowing readers to succumb all too easily to the manipulation. While reading this book, Life effortlessly fading into the background as the intensity and promise for something truly twisted takes over—no matter how loud the TV might be, who’s begging for attention, or the myriad of things niggling on your conscience. Believe me, none of those things will matter in the face of this devious page-turner.

Author introduce readers to Subodh, just another IT guy, who gets rejected at love. But wait, this is not just another love-story. After heart break, Subodh found a mysterious female voice in his head who knows everything about him and guides him for better. I had some adrenaline surging moments as the tension amped-up and the plot unfolded. The ending was just so perfect, Completely Intriguing and Totally Unexpected!

This was extremely well written! I was glued to these pages, devouring every single word with curious and hungry eyes. The pace, flow and narration were excellent! I felt the urge to read ‘just one more chapter’ from start to finish – I simply couldn’t get enough of this unique and mysterious story. The characters were well developed and each one kept my curiosity at highest level.

A bit of romance and more of paranormal mystery, this book will hook you till the last page.

Heart-wrenching, emotional, beautiful, suspenseful, thought-provoking, and uplifting—That Thing About You is a book that is filled with love in many forms, and that I won’t soon forget! When I read a book and I start to fall for the characters, I know that it will quickly become a favorite of mine.

It's an incredible debut novel by author Abhaidev! I want to first speak on his writing—it is incredibly filled with detail that makes the scenes and emotions leap right off the page. You can easily picture this book as a film, watching it play out before your eyes.

And the story itself is one that will leave you thinking about these characters long after you finish. It is charged with emotion, taut with tension, softened by the love.

Subodh was a character that I completely felt pity for at the beginning. He is aware of his own shortcomings, tries to do what is best, and stumbles along the way. Subodh felt like someone I could know in real life. Someone I may have passed on the street one time, wondering what demons haunted his eyes.

This book made me think about the impact of a single moment in time, and the ripple effect on the lives of those surrounding a young man Subodh. It made me think about the chain of events that lead up to and away from a tragedy, and how we go about getting answers and finding a way to move forward when the worst happens.

What a captivating, compelling, and throat punching work of fiction. This book had me up all night! I had to finish it. It was very fast paced with twists, betrayal and obsession. Everything you expect from a mystery books.

That Thing About You is a stunning, beautifully written debut by a talented author, Abhaidev. This book's unique storyline immediately drew me in and had me on the edge of my seat for the entirety of reading this book. The pacing and short chapters made this an extremely fast read.

If you're expecting me to go into the plot with my review... I won't because going into this book blind will make the experience so much more worthwhile.

While exhilarating and blood pumping through its pages, this novel is also so thought provoking that it will have you questioning your own moral compass. Every time I felt like I had an idea as to where this story was going, or merely what was going on, but the duo of Subodh and Kalpana slapped me sideways.

The character development was fantastic from the main protagonist Subodh to the mystery woman, Kalpana. Author was really great at bringing out each one of the characters,

This was well written and a great read. This will definitely be one I will be recommending to friends.

An intense twisty story that will make your head spin and your heart race! A book that made me check behind me just in case somebody creepy was watching! This book was an intense ride until the very last word! A different and unique approach to the paranormal mystery thriller.

The plot for this story is incredibly original and is what initially piqued my interest in this book. The book was extremely well written! I was glued to these pages, devouring every single word with curious and hungry eyes. The pace, flow and narration were excellent!  The characters were well developed and each one kept me curious as to their true intentions throughout the novel.

The main character of Subodh is a winner with the writing reflecting his dilemmas in decision-making opportunities. Peeling back the layers of mystery woman and others will keep you glued to this storyline.
Life can change on a dime. It can come in a phone call, a text, a word, an invitation, or an overheart talk. For Subodh, an average IT guy who liked a girl named Sneha, his life turned upside down when he overhears Sneha's indirect rejection. And then one fine day, a mystery woman enters Subodh's life. Subodh starts hearing a voice of this mystery woman. Then story takes turn.

This one will keep the reader on their toes as they are taken along on a journey to control, compulsion, and manipulation.

Our main character, Subodh, after a heartbreak, start listening voices of a mystery woman guiding him. Author created a unique cast of secondary characters, friends and family. some annoying and difficult to tolerate members drove Subodh, and me the reader, nuts. The contrasting and intriguing characters really sparked the story, which saw the dialogue and storylines between every character were authentic and it’s easy to get attached to the characters.

I enjoyed the narration. Author Abhaidev gave this mystery woman a smart, witty voice. Lyrical, honest, and perfectly paced, Abhaidev's writing will suck you in and won’t let you go. For me, when I started reading, I read for nearly an hour and lost track of the time as I was completely engrossed in the book. Throughout the day, my mind kept wandering back to the book. It was also intriguing to see the creative approach author weaved when it came to mystery woman.

That Thing About You is a bittersweet and beautiful coming-of-age novel and I would recommend it to anyone who loves contemporary young adult fiction with a bit of paranormal touch.

Abhaidev writes a suspenseful, emotional, and un-put-down-able read. Once I started I couldn't stop. From rejection in love to mysterious voices in head and twists of suspense. That Thing About You had me pinned to my cozy reading spot and the deeply emotional end was written with such pure emotion.

I knew I'd love this book when I read the description on back cover. It is the fight in your head. Then you add a little mystery to the story and the story will take hold of you and you will not be able to put the book down. There are a few twists and turns some are predictable but that is fine. The story keeps you engaged and I love the setting.

I loved the story and highly recommend it to anyone that loves romance with some paranormal thrill. The characters are and this author is certainly a fine storyteller. I still can't believe this is a debut adult novel of Abhaidev.

The protagonist of the story is Subodh. He is 27 years old an It guy working in a company. Ishan is his friend.when I saw the cover of the book, I thought it might be a routine romance genre book but I picked this up after reading the blurb. Initially the book was following the normal route like a guy fell in love and then rejected by a girl and then the twist of the story starts. Since that part, story is really amazing. I liked the twists and turns plotted. Written in simple and easily understandable language so that everyone can enjoy it. Different plot. I recommend this to young people and teenagers. Mostly after getting rejected in love, they got devastated and some might follow wrong decisions. So this will work as motivational force for them. An inspiring one. Good one!

The story begins with Subodh getting rejected in love. Those first few chapters were a bit heart wrenching, but it quickly turned into a thrilling mystery that I could not put down.

I literally did not know what happened until the last few pages. I usually read in the mornings, but this book had me clocking some evening hours just to find out how it ends. This book was an easy, fast read that kept me turning the pages.

The premise of the story is fabulous. It's a wonderful structure for a psychological/paranormal thriller, and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. And then there's the ending. It's so wonderful, so full of heart, I closed the book completely and utterly satisfied. An unputdownable thriller that will tug at your heart and move you.

Glimpse

The story starts from a conversation in a different world where an old man and young boy is talking about a thing which old man possesses and he wants to see what that thing can do and he decides to go to earth and let the thing choose the right person for it. So that game could start.

Subodh is an average guy who works in a big IT company and his office, no one takes him seriously. Everyone treats him like a kid for which he is himself to be blamed.

Subodh loved to do the opposite of what others around him do and he was known in his social circle as a free-spirited person.

one day Subodh purposes a girl named Sneha but she rejects him, and he isolated himself from everyone and one day he goes to fair and in absent-mindedly went to an antique shop and where he bought a statue for his grandma and also a key which looked antique.

And when he went away from the shop the old man in the shop smiled..towards him..and he went away.

One day when he saw a boy swinging in the park he too wanted to that and after being fresh he comes in the park with a book to read but he starts swinging and he listens to a voice of a girl and he was startled and check but found no one and voice talks to him by saying she is in her mind.

To know more of the story go grab the book and start reading 😊

Review

The story gives a thrilling start but as the chapter goes on the book lost its thrilling pace and only becomes an entertaining and then again a thrill happens but it also dies soon but the story keeps the suspense and intrigued throughout the rest story but the story comes alive once again when it comes to ending and with a thrill it smiled at me and in last it touched my heart.

The author has tried to give some light on mental health and about depressed state according to me and from the story, we can also learn so many things about lives, as the character of the book is selfish who only do what he likes and that makes him an immature among the people as he doing like a child, he only talks about himself and never gave thought about anybody thought.

I liked this book as the ending of the story took my heart and I could not stop myself 5 stars the book have some boring pages but overall it is a nice read and the language is also lucid and narration is also good enough and I will recommend this book to the people who lost smiling and wants to change his mood this book will give you that.

Note:- This is not a simple love story it is more than that.
Happy Reading😇

That Thing About You is an emotional, suspenseful read. I was interested from page one and the story never lagged. This fast-paced debut by Abhaidev kept me guessing until the very end. Who was that mystery woman? Why was she helping Subodh? How can she know that much about him? Where is she came from? So many questions but the first you want the answer of is who's that mysterious woman. The story continued to move two steps forward and then one step back again while I scrambled to figure out how the pieces fit together.

Abhaidev has written a new age paranormal that keeps the reader turning pages to find out the answers to the questions. The characters are so likeable that you find yourself caring about them.

The book deals with a whole range of emotions and is so well written. I just was so absorbed that I read it in just over a day, the writing is superb and the characters all came across as real people making for a page turner. It’s desperately sad in parts and yet it is just what life can be ..hard but with hope and so I can really recommend the book it’s fabulous read.

Frist of all kiddos to author for coming up with intriguing tittle and storyline.
The story is beautiful and the title appropriate yet at the same time it give away anything about the plot.
The cover is also very relevant .
Now coming to the book , it is well crafted and it Subhod and Kalpana.
I really enjoyed the relationship of Subhod and Kalpana
And the consequences which Subhod has to face when he tries to get rid of her.
The narration is very smooth though I think it could have been little less descriptive. The characterisation is nice and depicts the author's in depth knowledge of human psychology.
Overall I think was a great read and highly recommend it

Full review on my blog:
https://blog.medhaapps.com/?p=124

Subodh an introvert by nature, employed in an IT firm in Mumbai is termed as immature by his colleagues and is often the center of their jokes and teasing. Ishaan who shares room with Subodh also works at the same firm who is cause for tension with the constant comparison between the two and Ishaan unintentionally spilling beans about Subodh’s life with his teammates. Sneha whom Subodh admired from the day he saw her at their workplace, also has similar thoughts about Subodh’s personality which he overhears one fine day. Thus Subodh’s world comes to a halt as he finds it difficult to cope with this indirect rejection from Sneha and the fact that everyone around him only criticize him.

As Subodh tries to come to terms with his heartbreak he starts hearing voice of a mysterious woman, whom he starts calling as Kalpana. While Kalpana, the voice without a face helps demystify life for Subodh, people in his flat premises, Ishaan, and slowly Subodh himself finds it weird to be speaking to this mystery voice. Kalpana becomes Subodh’s fascination, obsession and a month later, weakness which he finally wants to avoid. Is Kalpana just a figment of Subodh’s imagination, his inner voice or a much deeper destiny waiting for him forms the rest of the story.

The prologue itself is intriguing; the story starts with just the basic introduction of the main characters and soon enters Kalpana who explains and teaches Subodh everything he knows about himself but was stubborn to accept all these years. Kalpana gives Subodh valuable life lessons with the right amount of criticism laced with empathy. And as Subodh summarizes later, he was curious to know her opinion about him and was enthusiastic to accept her lessons because of the mystery around her which also makes Subodh obsessed about his daily conversations with Kalpana.

The concept is very unique and fresh, the narration flawless and gripping till the very end. Just when the reader concludes where the story might go next, the author throws another surprise, keeping the reader hooked all through. The imagination and intelligence of the author shows up in the multiple twists and how the start and end of the story are tied up. The story is a mix of mystery, life lessons of Kalpana, coming of age of Subodh and hidden fantasy element. The author’s commentary on contemporary human behavior and subtle way in how the main characters are portrayed is appreciable.

The title of the book and the cover also have a deeper meaning and connect to the story. That Thing About You is a complete package filled with entertainment, mystery, and a message on how life has to be perceived against how the society might treat individuals. This is a must read and one of the most fulfilling reads in recent times.

Storyline
The story revolves around the character Subodh. Subodh is an introvert and an aloof person who goes about mundane life like everyone else. He works in an IT firm, hardworking but considered immature by everyone around him. He sometimes is the butt of a joke. He falls in love with his colleague who is also one of his closest friends. Subodh gets rejected by this girl and he feels dejected. His life turns around when he goes on a team outing. A choice he makes in this themed resort changes his life forever. During his time of dejection, he finds a friend he could lean on. This friend helped him introspect and give him a fresh and new outlook to life. The author gives us a meaning to what we call destiny. He tells us a story of destiny and how it plays a role in our lives. Does Subodh get over this girl? Where is he destined to be in his life? Does he change for better or for worse?

Review: The cover of the book does justice to the story. Even though it’s not quite obvious of what one might think seeing the cover the curiosity it builds is worth it. In the book, you can expect to find topics like spirits/ ghosts, God, power of attraction and the universe. The book gives us a new perspective of “curiosity killed the cat”. The author has written about philosophy well. Philosophical writing is tricky but the author has delivered the message with clarity. When the author wrote about love, he remained unbiased. He touched upon the fact that women also face rejection and heartbreaks when it comes to love. I was a little disappointed because of some generalized statements. It felt like the story encouraged people to have a burdensome life. And if someone did not have such life then it’s not a life at all. I like the fact that the concept of tough love is embraced in the story. I loved that the author through the story has tried to normalize counseling and therapy. The book on the whole talks about destiny and the author has done justice to the concept. The universe conspires to lead you to the place you are meant to be. Even if the journey to your destination is bizarre you will be where you have to be at the right time. This holds true to everything in life and the author has done a fantastic job in portraying this. I would recommend this book to everyone who thinks they are in a horrible place in life as it is a book of hope. I would recommend this book to people who love to read about the law of attraction, spirits, destiny, sub-conscious and more. Would not recommend the book if you are not into the philosophical aspects of life.

"We are nothing but just puppets in this world. The strings are in the control of a cosmic puppeteer who is none other than divine God himself. We are here on Earth just to play the roles assigned to us. In the end everything is destined."

Plot : Subodh a 27 yrs old guy working as a average employee in a big IT company. A simple guy, carefree, who don't know the tactics of deception, free of any affectation but everyone in his office consider him kid and immature. He has love intrest in her colleague Sneha. He feel a strange bond with her. Circumstances changed when Sneha rejected him but one day he listened a mysterious voice of women in a garden. Does the voice belong to someone or he was just hallucinating? Does the loneliness turn him into Schizophrenic or voice has some secret?

My opinion : This is wonderful work of author. A complete package of reality, spirituality, with paranormal mystery. It's not romance genre as cover shows but it is far better than a love story. The plot of story is outstanding and original, i was glued to the book till the last page. I like the character of Subodh, a honest, carefree person who is same inside and outside both. Conversation between Subodh and mysterious voice is a complete source of enlightenment with full of philosophy and spiritual lessons too. Pace of story, flow and narration is extremely good. Ending of story uplifted my mood. In short I admire writing skill of @authorabhaidev .

Highly Recommend to everyone.

When Subodh gets rejection from his love interest, his life comes to an abrupt standstill. And then one fine day, he starts hearing voices of mysterious woman. She guides him and helps him.
I haven’t been this drawn to a mystery in quite some time and when you read That Thing About You, you’ll know why its been flooding your feed. It’s captivating, emotional, and keeps you guessing. You’ll want to binge this one!

What I found the most interesting about this was the fantastic character development. They felt realistic in the struggles, fears, and emotions.

I loved this book. It was very engrossing and I had trouble putting it down. It has many twists and turns, leading you to an unexpected ending. I highly recommend this book.

That Thing About You is a sweet tale of a cheerful guy Subodh who works in an IT company. He is caught in the web of his delusions, struck with his indiscipline, confused about what he actually wants from his life. On top of it, he overhears the girl he presumably likes a little too much that she finds him immature and not fit for a relationship. This shatters him to the extent that he begins hearing a female voice directing his life. She chides him, teases him, guides him and slowly affects Subodh’s life. But is it a good omen? Subodh hearing a voice which has no existence in real? What’s the mystery lurking in this plot?

As the book kickstarted with two celestial men talking, I wondered what the plot would be all about. That sparked my interest and I went ahead. The first half of the book is written to build the air of mystery. The other half takes up the job of getting the mist of mystery wiped out. I liked how the author developed his protagonist Subodh. The entire narrative revolves around him – his challenges, his heartbreak, his opinions, his happiness, his love. The dose of the philosophy of life is fed to the readers in an engaging manner. Through Subodh, we learn some of the important life lessons, If we are curious, we learn; we evolve into something greater. If we would sadden ourselves with our pain, we won’t be able to progress. Moving past it is the only key to ensure a happy living. The voice in our head is the best teacher and if we listen to it, we are sure to come out of any shackle.

The second half was a bit dull for me. I couldn’t connect with the characters any longer and found it hard to continue. But the climax compensated for everything. It was indeed beautiful. I am amazed at how a disarrayed story of a messed up boy converged into a stunning and inspiring tale. The end explains the amazing cover of the book. I liked the revelation. And well, this is not the end; this is just the beginning!

I would suggest the author works a little more on refining his narration, giving more space to the side characters, creating a concise narrative, and effective writing. The book does make up for a good one-time read and this coming from a debut author is a wonderful thing!

This book is fresh, interesting and at times insightful. I love the main character, Subodh. I had a friend exactly like him in my college. ●That think about you there is a stage in everyone's life where they hadn't any idea about the realistic future. Sometimes there is some invisible catalyzed what helped the person to grow up and forced to make their future.

●I love the the cover of the book at first I thought it's a love story by seeing the theme off the cover. After reading it I understood that the book consists more than a story. It has a pure philosophy concept . Which is even motivational. The book has a power to make you rethink about the facts reflected here .

●Here, the main character is SUBHODH. Even who hasn't any idea about his future. He was in a IT company where the salary is low. but work is always on his head. He doesnt know what he is doing and what will do with his life. He has a confusing immature character. Even He doesnt want to change this company. Because of a girl Sneha who is his crash. He proposed and got rejected.

●After somedays there is some invisible shrill sounds of a girl what made Subodh crazy. First day he thought it's just an illusion or prank. After that he started to become obsessed with this sound. that sound knows him very well and also tell him about it. And his life started to change. But How? What was that sound? Why she is not visible? How subhod started to become mature? To know the last station grab the book.

● The story is a mirage of our life. Sometimes when we stay in doubt, we try to talk with self which is important indeed. it's finely described love , destin y and all. I must appreciate the effort author gave here. He has genuine knowledge about philosophy. Which enlighted the book more. I love the way author described every single details of fantasy of our life.

It starts with a situation where two beings are talking who seem to be unworldly.
Subodh who is the main character of this story is bit immature but innocent . He still gets teased and mocked by his It office colleague and his heart gets broken when he faces a rejection badly . but soon after that he encounters someone who he befriends and from there it starts. Is it his inner voice or there is a real person beside him. It talks to him . As a matter of fact it is a she ! this story first felt like a normal love story by its cover which did not much impress me but then the tale has components that revolve around philosophy , destiny , fate and psychology wrapped self discovery , and introspection of the protagonist. The narration is smooth with chapters dividing the main fiction . language is pretty lucid.
The blurb did catch my eyes .It felt mysterious and somewhere uncanny !
The title could have been bit more suspenseful with the cover as it seems like ordinary romance genre book but it is quite more than that it that as the story has spiritual touch and philosophical thought based plot that will be liked by readers who like reading stories with backdrop of India and philosophical approach to love and self .

A very ordinary life of an ordinary corporate employee that takes a sharp turn after an incident happens in his life. That thing about you is a debut novel by Abhaidev. The author very accurately captured and penned down the life of an introvert, immature employee Subodh. The book shows Subodh's journey from being a careless kiddo to a stable and composed person.
The regular life of the protagonist changes when he finds an antique key in an office trip. Subodh had developed the instincts of self exploration after he was rejected by his potential love interest, Neha. The anti-social behaviour and seclusion from the world brought Subodh closer to an oblivious voice of a girl which only he could talk to when he was not thinking anything.
No doubt the voice new everything about him and compelled him to quit smoking. The voice showed a kind of mirror to Subodh that resulted in his behavioural evolution. Various incidents take place in his life from family pressure for arrange marriage to the work pressure but the voice always stood by his side.
The suspense about the voice, what becomes of Subodh, when did the voice ever leave so both? is the voice real or just a psychiatric condition? The book unveils all the suspense
The cover of the book is well designed and acts as a catalyst to build up the suspense about the genre itself. The best thing I like in the book is the description of the lifestyle of the corporate employees that I could totally resonate too. The book very well describes the thought process of the characters. The buildup of the story is good and the book is definitely a gripper. Although the suspense could have been more deeply enlightened.
The book is mostly recommended for the introverts and does justice to psychological suspense.

That thing about you
It's a story of self discovery. A self help book wrapped in fiction. Subodh, the undisciplined and immature guy got rejected by a girl he thought he loved. In the process of reacting to rejection, he starts hearing a voice, a girl's voice. At first he was scared but eventually he felt so comfortable that he couldn't go a day without talking to Kalpana (the voice).
Kalpana showed him the path of self reflection. She chided him and pointed out all his flaws. And it really changed Subodh's life. But why is he talking to a faceless person? Who does this voice belongs to? What is the reason of hearing it? Is he going mad?
The story is unique, idea is unique but execution is poor. Narration is conversational which makes the book monotonous. I really don't agree with few statements in the book because well it wanted the character to lose his uniqueness and just blend in the crowd because he's not "great". The side characters like Ishaan didn't really had a role to play. They were there just for the sake of it.
The book tried to inspire readers but I wasn't really moved. It clearly is a self help book which is wrapped poorly in fiction.
BUT
I loved the concept. The integration of key and lock. The celestial element. Climax did gave the book an amazing end but I hope it was more elaborated.
At first glance book appears to be romance but it is not. The significance of cover can be understood after reading it and it really suits the book. Even title suggests the book is of romance genre but I still think it didn't do justice to the book.
Overall the book can be read once if you're a new reader. Not for regular readers.

‘That Thing About You’ by Abhaidev is a book that revolves around Subodh who works in an IT company. Subodh is an introvert and is referred by his colleagues as irresponsible and immature but even after knowing all this he has a carefree attitude and least affected by what others have to say about him. Until one day when he hears the same from one of his colleague Sneha and he is left shattered and all his dreams come to an end. After this incident he goes into trauma and starts staying alone until one day he starts hearing a voice of a girl. This girl shows him the reality and tries to show him the other side of the coin. Who is this girl? Why is she trying to help him? Will Subodh change? To know more read ‘That Thing About You’.

My Thoughts:

The plot is very unique and the readers will be hooked right from the first page. The plot is well developed and the author has created suspense which has been well-maintained throughout the book till the end.

Characters are well-developed and relatable but somehow I felt that other characters were a little side linked. We also get to see typical Indian parents and situation that every children in India have to face i.e. marriage is very well described. The conversation between Subodh and Kalpana are enlightening.

The language is simple and lucid. The narration is also done beautifully.

The book cover and the title is apt to the story.

Overall, I would say that it was a good read and would surely recommend it to everyone.

That Thing About You is the story of Subodh, working in IT sector in Bombay. Subodh is considered immature by his friends and colleagues. He is messy and loves to go to work on his bike in the hectic traffic of Bombay. He gets rejected by someone he likes in his office. On a work trip with his friends, he buys something unusual and starts hearing the voice of a girl who helps him mend the problems of his life. Who is this voice? His subconscious? No. Read the book to find out more.
.
Firstly, the title of the book is appropriate to the plot. It's doesn't give away anything but intrigues one at the same time. The writing is more towards narration than description and is very engaging. The book is set at a slow pace and a bit rushed in the end. I liked the concept of the book. It managed to draw me in and finish reading the whole book in one go.  The storyline will keep you hooked to it. The language used is lucid. The book had been concluded well and will give you a suprise considering you never would have expected the ending. The presentation of the book could have been done in a better way keeping in mind the book cover. The opening of the book may seem irrelevant as the reader doesn't know the story then. It would have been good if the writing could've been done keeping that in mind. At times, the scenes become predictable. The book has a lot of potential; just needs a little work to it.
.
I would recommend this book to those who are looking for romance with a twist bordering towards self help. I enjoyed reading it but wouldn't mind some trimming to it.

An inspiring and interesting read!

From cocoon to butterfly, the novel tracks how the protagonist Subhodh, a free-spirited immature guy attains self realisation and spiritual intelligence (subhodh) and change for the better.

"We have to make moves, my friend, to progress".

Subhodh was an average-built, immature guy who thought highly of himself. He didn't mind what others said about him until he got indirectly rejected by his crush . It hurt him badly but it proved to be a blessing in disguise as he began to listen to a mysterious voice which helped him embark a new journey. But to whom does this strange voice belong to ? Or is it his own inner voice? Read to know more.

Right from the apt choice of the character's name, the author carefully crafted the story, prioritising minute detailing . You will find yourself looking into your own life while exploring Subhodh's world. As you unravel many entangled mysteries of Subhodh's life, you unconsciously do yours too.

The concept is really beautiful and loved the transformational journey of the protagonist. Kalpana was an amazing character and I enjoyed the way she was described. Even though I felt some ineffective scenes should have been omitted, still it won't hamper your reading. I loved the ending a lot. It was unexpected and brilliant. The lucid yet impressive choice of words make it readable for beginners and advanced readers as well.
Do give it a read, if you are looking for something interesting and insightful. This is your perfect choice.

I picked up this book after some of my friends suggested it

The Cover looks like  every romance story out on the shelves, so did I think.

But rumbling 20 pages down, I understood this book has a refer plot, something we do not read often.

If you are a person who judges a book by its cover, then get ready to break your perception cause it is everything but a cliché romance novel.

It's the type of love our teacher once told us about - philosophical, spiritual.

How often do we go looking for the answers that bind us?

How often do we look into the mirror and trace the lining of our heart, protecting it but also telling it the harsh truth?

IT employee Subodh has been looking for them everywhere. Hr is the centre of jokes, everyone in office thinks him to be immature, so his crush too!

Subodh embarks on a journey of self discovery, finding meaning in tough times, the destiny triumph and most importantly love.

The author focuses only on Subodh so it would not be wrong to say that the other characters had a miss and make you wonder.

You will be hooked till the end with the pace going smooth, lagging at the middle but 2-3 pages won't count trust me, cause the ending is so surreal, so satisfying you will hug me after the quarantine gets over!

Did I say a bit too much? GO READ IT NOW!

"Even a pawn makes a move."
A beguiling love story of Subodh and his unusual friend. A carefree guy Subodh, the protagonist, was blithe towards his surrounding. He works in an IT company and there he had a crush on one of his female co-worker Sneha. But he is indirectly rejected by his love interest because of his immaturity. Subodh does not accept the reason for his rejection and starts avoiding having any discourse with Sneha. In the meantime dejected and crestfallen he goes to a fair. He buys a krishna statue there and also an old key. After coming back from the fair, he starts hearing sound of a women, whenever he is alone. His life is completely changed. He starts doubting his sanity and even goes to a psychologist. He rejects an arranged marriage proposal. The voice became her unusual friend. The story ends by Subodh getting rid of that voice.
⭐Believe in destiny is shown that if you have faith in your destiny then you will definitely vet your true love. The typical criteria of Indian parents of getting their children married soon is also shown.
⭐All in all it's a good book to read. It gives a moral of how to lead a disciplined life and to be a mature person with the advancement of age.
