Mistakes were made, okay?

The moment I laid eyes on Kyle Kingston I knew he was a mistake. A satisfying, toe curling, hair pulling, best night of my life mistake, but a mistake all the same. I didn’t yet know his name, or who he was, but I knew he was a bad idea.

I take comfort in that, because it means my instincts are still good. Too late, but it’s something.

Because, FYI, I’m pregnant

… and did I mention my baby daddy is both heir to a retail empire and impossible to get ahold of?

I do what any girl would. I break into his Grandfather’s retirement gala by telling the prissy gatekeeper Kyle’s my fiancé. It was a halfway decent plan at the time, trust me.

But it blows up in my face, disastrously so. You see, Kyle Kingston is all about representing the family values his family’s retail empire was founded on. At least in public. In private- well I’ll tell you about that later.

He proposes – a marriage of convenience.

Convenient for everyone but me, because while I’m falling in love with my convenient husband, he’s keeping a billion-dollar secret. From me.

Jana Aston never fails to make me laugh out loud while reading her books. Not only was this book hilarious, but it had troupes I absolutely love. Surprise pregnancy and marriage of convince.

If you’ve read Sure Thing, you’ve met Violet’s wild twin sister Daisy. Daisy is the twin that’s more adventurous. She’s fun, has no filter, and is unapologetically herself. Daisy has had bad luck with men so she goes on a ‘dick diet’. Four months in, she meets an irresistible man named Kyle while traveling and breaks that diet. Totally worth it, but now she’s totally pregnant and has to find Kyle to tell him. Unbeknownst to her, Kyle is someone easy to find but hard to track down. Due to him being a CEO and all…
It turns out my one-night stand is the heir to an American chain of department stores founded on family values and low prices. I've got a secret for you. There's nothing 'family values' about Kyle Kingston. By which I mean he's a dirty bastard. Deliciously dirty.

Kyle and Daisy end up in this fake engagement that turns into a marriage. It’s much more than either one of them imagined and even though it seems impossible, they start to fall for each other. But there are secrets Kyle’s keeping and when Daisy finds out, well…

I seriously read this book so fast. I devoured it in one night. It’s a quick read, but also completely addicting. My only real complaint is that I wish it was longer. I could have used more Kyle and Daisy. Daisy was a hoot. One of the funniest characters Jana has written yet. I loved being in her head. And Kyle was an unlikely yet perfect match for her.

Plan B is a book I was waiting for and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. If you’re looking for a funny, highly entertaining, snarky and sexy read, pick this one up! It’s rom-com gold!

This was one heck of a DELIGHTFUL and CHARMING rom-com galore! I wish it was longer, and I regret not listening to it on audio. But maybe next time, for a reread.

“Even if it’s totally unfair that he knocked me up. I take responsibility for breaking my dick diet, but the condom malfunction is on him.”

Tropes: surprise pregnancy, marriage of convenience

I was smitten with Daisy cause she was hilarious and unapologetically herself. Her quirky and bubbly energy sucked me in and lifted up my mood. Kyle was your typical rich boy, except he was far from entitled. He was smart and caring.

“I didn’t want to win a nice guy by default. I wanted one who chose me. One who couldn’t live without me. Not one who settled for me. I was looking for a fairy-tale, but so what? No one dreams of settling.”

I was SO taken with the writing (humor) from the very first page that I didn’t pay a mind to everything else. Come to think of it, the romantic development was pretty lacking. They both just kinda took the whole situation in stride and were being practical about it.

“Maybe you don’t have to try so hard. And maybe I could be the right guy.”

I could see the change in Daisy’s side even though she often dismissed her feelings to her being pregnant. However, I didn’t see how Kyle was falling for Daisy even though we did get his POV. Nevertheless, I adored them as a couple and parents.

My favorite bit:
(Please be still my heart, don’t faint!)
It’s quite lengthy, so I’ll put it under spoilers.

This is just one of those feel good books that you wanna grab cause it’s easy to read, lighthearted, and entertaining with just the perfect amount of steam and drama to spice things up. I know it’s rather backward, but now the question is, should I or should I not read Sure Thing?

4 Should Have Wrapped It Better Stars ⭐️

During an abstinence from men and sex, Daisy never expected to find herself pregnant after a one night stand. The plan is to find and inform her baby daddy and then get on with her life because evidently she has this sorted. What she hadn’t anticipated was how difficult Kyle Kingston would be to locate.

”Even if it's totally unfair that he knocked me up. I take responsibility for breaking my dick diet, but the condom malfunction is on him."

From internet stalking, crashing a retirement party and crazy pregnancy hormones, Daisy finds herself with a fiancé she hadn’t planned on.

”Let's get married."

"Oh, no. No, no, no." I'm shaking my head as I speak. "Nope. Not happening."

"Do you have a better plan?"

"A better plan than pretending to be your wife? Are you insane? As in, legally mentally deranged?"

Before she knows it, Daisy has moved in with Kyle, wearing a diamond ring bigger then her head, and being added to his Netflix account. Sometimes unexpected plans are exactly what you need.

Plan B was a great read that will have you snorting out loud, and features hot scenes which is of no surprise.
This author has a way for writing hysterical characters and clever dialogue that makes you wonder if she’s been smoking a joint during the writing process.

”But I'm close to release and I need her there with me because contrary to what she thinks, I have manners. Also, I think she's liable to turn my toothbrush into a shank to murder me with if I don't get her off."

Where Daisy was kooky, slightly neurotic, Kyle was the perfect counterpart as the voice of reason. Plan B was a wonderful light read!

What a fun book! If you have read Sure Thing, which you don't have to read before this one, you get to see what Daisy was up to when she asked her twin sister to do a switcheroo at Daisy's touring job. I found Daisy and Kyle's book to be just as funny and entertaining as Violet and Jennings.

Daisy and Kyle were such an opposites attract couple that really just clicked. He handles her crazy very well and their banter is what made this entertaining for me. I also like that he wasn't what I would have expected for her.

There was a little surprise appearance in this book that I just loved, and that epilogue was dreamy! This book went way too fast for my liking. I want more but not because the author didn't leave me satisfied, she just had me loving these two so much. I highly recommend if you want a fun, low angst read!

4.5 stars-the epilogue really bumped this up for me

Sigh. Epilogues can really boost a book’s rating for me… it’s that sneak peak into their future that makes me swoon and giddy, and this one has the perfect HEA peak for not only Daisy and Kyle, but even Violet and Jennings (book 1).

Daisy (26) was in the middle of a penis cleanse when she met Kyle (34), the heir to an American chain of department stores founded on family values and low prices. They hit it off, and, well, 😉.

Now, she’s knocked up and needs to find the father of her baby so she can do the “nice” thing and let him know he’s gonna be a father. Except, finding Kyle is EXTREMELY hard. I mean, who doesn’t have social media in the twenty-first century 🤦🏻‍♀️😅. ESPECIALLY when you have tons of money 🤷🏻‍♀️. Daisy does her best to hunt down her ONS, and she finds out that he’ll be attending the retirement party for his grandfather.

And she shows up. But, she couldn’t JUST show up. No, she had to do the next best thing- say that she’s Kyle’s fiancé 👀. What could possibly go wrong 😅.

What I liked/loved: possible spoilers
—the lightheartedness. I giggled and laughed throughout the book. NGL- the way Daisy thought or acted was on par with how I would think or act 🤣, which made it relatable 😊

—the tension 👀. When they’re in the same room, sparks fly. It’s the glances and intakes of breaths that get to me 😅. And their first on-page 🔥 was 🫠

—the 🔥 woo… so we don’t see how their baby is made (😒), but LAWD. Lawwwwddd, this isn’t a slow burn. As soon as Kyle sees Daisy, he takes her away to his place and owns her body like it’s his 👀. The alphaness surprised me here 😅. He didn’t really ask, just took (she was more than willing), and gawd, it was 🥵 (a little over 20%). We only get a couple of full 🔥 scenes (good thing too, cause this would’ve been 4 stars otherwise 😜), but then we get…

—cereal eating 💦. I’m making this its own bullet because I can always appreciate when the MMC, Kyle, is all for pleeeeasing his woman 💁🏻‍♀️, and boy, does he ever 😮‍💨. He doesn’t even expect reciprocation either 👀. Now that’s a real man 👏🏻

—the subtle way Kyle bulldozes to get his way. Daisy might be there to set the record straight and do the right thing by telling Kyle how it’s going to go, but Kyle has his own mind made up and is gonna persuade and seduce his way to get it 😉

—THE EPILOGUE!!! OMGGGGGG. OH. MY. GOSH! I loooved it! It’s about 4 years later and we get to see both Daisy/Kyle’s and Violet/Jennings’s HEA 🥰. Gahhh! I love seeing babies in their future, and this one was so darn cuuute! I mean, come on! Violet’s toddler already has a British accent and Daisy’s son has a dimple like his father’s 🥹 and don’t get me started on their future baby-making plans 👀❤️. Sigh. I loooved it 🥹🥰

—“Wrong” cameo. If you’ve read Wrong, well then you’re familiar with Dr. Luke. We actually get to see how his life is now, HEA included (Wrong’s epilogue disappointed me 🤣) and we know that he has sooo many babies he might as well start making a sports’ team 🤣. I love seeing the HEA of other couples 🥰

—Kyle getting jealous of his cousin 🤣. Daisy calls Luke handsome and Kyle’s ready to hulk out 🤣. He doesn’t… but he was getting ready 👀

—the realness in pregnancy and delivery. Reading this made me remember what it was like being pregnant and even the fears and reality of what happens when you give birth. I appreciated how close-to-the-truth it is. I also appreciated that it was emphasized that no two babies or pregnancies are alike ❤️. I also remembered trying to get my baby out of me too 🤣

—the owd was brief. This led to their 12-hour breakup, but I loved that Kyle ran (drove) 12 hours to clear the air and tell Daisy everything and anything she needed to know ❤️. Sigh. He was all in 🥹

—the random MMC chapters. We don’t get too many, but we get enough to understand Kyle’s POV, which assures us that he’s into Daisy sincerely

What I wanted more of:
—🔥? lol. We don’t get too many. We get some summaries of what they’ve done, but I wanted more

—more angst/turmoil in their separation. While I loved that it was over with quickly, I would’ve liked Kyle to grovel for keeping things from Daisy 😑 lol. I still enjoyed this book so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Overall, this was a nice, light-hearted palate cleanser that made me swoon and smile throughout. Plus. The epilogue was FREAKING amazing 🥰

⚠️ safety squad ⚠️
-no cheating/sharing/omd
-parental loss recounted
-OWD: the H’s ex fiancé tries to cause drama. It’s been over for years and the H doesn’t even like her

I got to thoughts of love and I had to call it quits. I didn’t feel any connection at all between the characters so it seemed out of nowhere. At the very least, it was underdeveloped. I didn’t connect to either character either. I thought the H was boring and the h was obnoxious and even rude at times. Mentions of connections through time spent off page cemented my decision. Bummer because I like this trope...

Even though I'm not a fan of accidental babies, this fairy tale was a fun read. It wasn't as hot as the other ones though, or maybe it just didn't work for me. I can see lots of people being disappointed, many parts are a bit repetitive... But I love this author, so I might be completely biased here and give it more stars than it maybe deserves. Don't care.

Daisy was a delight.

I imagine his legal counsil covering this with him in a weekly meeting and want to die.
"One last item on the agenda, Mr. Kingston. A Miss Daisy Hayden would like to notify you that you are going to be a father. She's requested that you take a refresher course on condom usage and also that you return her camera."

This story was totally unrealistic and somewhat outlandish, but as I love Ms. Aston's humor and I wanted to know what happened with Daisy, I enoyed it. Plus it was awesome to see a completely commited hero for a change, Kyle was quite amazing.

So yeah, I'm glad I haven't skipped it, still a sweet and lovely story.

I can't with Jana Aston.
How she writes such true-to-life, yet likable and swoon-y and downright hilarious characters, I'll never know.
Aston is a go-to for me. An auto-click. A never-fail writer of romantic comedy gold. Plan B doesn't not disappoint.
This is the perfect summertime read. Or weekend read. Or, well, anytime as long as your schedule is clear because you won't be able to put it down.
I loved it. It's just what I needed.

Spoilers ahead

I didn't think I'd read this one as in book 1 Daisy was the slutty best friend I hate to read about, just in this case she was the slutty twin sister of the h of book 1.

Daisy, after a lot of bad choices in men decides to go without. Four months into her 6 month no sex plan she meets Kyle and they have a ONS. However to Daisy's surprise Kyle left something behind. In order to do the right thing Daisy tracks down her soon to be baby daddy and lies claiming to be his fiancee to get in to see him. The lie spirals and Kyle takes her home with him to talk. The chemistry is still there and they have sex. A marriage of convenience is proposed and things go smoothly until a bit of ex drama causes a hitch in things.

I liked Daisy's sense of humor, I cracked up at her internal voice and the things that came out of her mouth. Kyle was a sweetheart, surprisingly as a billionaire businessman he wasn't a manwhore but was celibate so long that his condom wasn't good which caused the surprise pregnancy. I was very pleased with this as it off set Daisy's very active past nicely. I didn't think they'd had enough time together to make the ily as believable as I'd like but that's a me issue. There was a bit of telling not showing, a bit too much internal monologue and some things, like the reason Kyle's last engagement ended, weren't fully explained. The fact that his ex fiancee still worked for his company and still wanted him back was a touch of very much foreseen drama. Thankfully when the drama occurred it didn't last overlong as Kyle immediately went after Daisy.

All in all I enjoyed this one well enough.

The first time i read miss Aston books, i laughed so hard and putting her as one of my favorite author. Anyone who is familiar with her books, will know she creates such a adorable quirky heorine and rational cold hero.

In Plan B, that signature quirky fun story is still there but a bigger part of ot is missing. Its missing characters development/ chemistry. I do not get why Kyle (even though we have his POV) falls for Daisy. And Daisy is a bubble of mess. Her quirky character becomes dumb and dumber toward the end.

Dont get ne wrong. I still enjoy the book. But due to important part is missing from the story, i deduct it to 2 stars.

‘I didn’t want to win a nice guy by default. I wanted one who chose me. One who couldn’t live without me. Not one who settled for me. I was looking for a fairy-tale, but so what? No one dreams of settling.’

Plan B by Jana Aston is the story of Daisy, Violet’s twin sister from Sure Thing, which we loved. We’ve been patiently waiting for this book and our Jana Aston fix! Jana Aston doesn’t realise this but she’s become very special to us, the more books by her we read, the more we love her. She never fails to make us laugh from crazy banter and inner monologues. We melt into puddles from the romance, and without fail, she makes us fall in love with her brilliant heroines. By the time we’ve finished her stories, we’ve adopted them as our best friends…

“Are we doing a Daddy thing now? Like, ‘call me Daddy,’ instead of baby daddy? Because I’m not into that. And that’s really something you should talk about beforehand.”
“What?” Kyle looks confused about my outburst, then he looks pissed off. “No, don’t call me Daddy. For fuck’s sake, Daisy.”

If you’ve not read Sure Thing go get it and read it, then pick up Plan B and dive straight in. These twin girls are just fan-bloody-tastic. Daisy and Violet are so incredibly sweet, funny and effervescent. However, where Violet is more introverted, cautious and a planner. Daisy is very ‘out there’ with no filter, a spur of the moment and outgoing personality. They both share a fabulous sense of humour though and they both love with all their hearts. We LOVE these girls!

“Next time I knock you up I’ll open an Instagram account so you can find me without showing up unannounced pretending to be my fiancée.”

Daisy has sworn off men. Well, that is until she meets the enigmatic Kyle Kingston. What she thought was one night stand, a blip on her ‘dick diet’, turns out to be much more than initially envisaged when she discovers she’s pregnant. Cue hilarious shenanigans in trying to locate this gorgeous baby daddy!

“But we’re just a fluke,” I remind him. “You and me.”
“Hmm,” he hums softly. “Or maybe the universe sent me exactly who I needed.”
‘Heart. Puddle. Floor.’

Kyle is just incredibly lovable, this guy is no-nonsense, humble and kind of sweet and nerdy! The one night stand with Daisy left quite the impression on Kyle. So when he’s reunited with her the circumstances throw his head into a spin. We absolutely loved the quirkiness of Daisy and how this moment came about. Kyle didn’t know what hit him!

‘Don’t be jealous of me, I want to tell her. I’m here with my one night stand baby daddy who wants to put a ring on it like it’s 1965. Nothing to be envious of here. Move along.’

The chemistry between Daisy and Kyle was palpable, their one-liners and banter absolutely hilarious! The angst level was low, the swoon factor high and we fell in love with a cat called Tubbs. Plan B was a quick entertaining read, almost too quick and we would’ve loved more Kyle which we felt was missing! As always, Jana Aston’s heroines leave such an incredible impression that the scales, for us, always weigh in their favour. Good thing they’re the absolute dogs’ bollox!!!!

2 - Epilogue - Stars

Really unpopular opinion here:

This book was just ... dumb? I don't know how else to describe it. It feels more like reading a weird diary than a romance novel. Some of Daisy's inner monologue was funny, but 85% of it was just so random, messy and too much. Her thought-process I just can't deal with. It's all over the place and too much for me to handle. I'd like to give you some examples but that means I have to open the book again and look for them ... and it's just not worth it.

The romance between Daisy and Kyle didn't make sense at all. Kyle literally went from "you fucking bitch" to marry me and then "I love you since the day I met you outside Boston's street". I was like what the fuck is this???? We only get a brief flashback to their one-night stand which led to Daisy being pregnant. Even the tiny flashback didn't show any chemistry between Daisy and Kyle. Maybe this book is just too short, but I thought that the romance was not developed well. Instead of focusing so much on Daisy's inner monologues, the author should have use the space to build their relationship.

Add in the miscommunication-trope and I can't give this book more than two stars. It was so annoying that Daisy just saw Kyle and his ex-girlfriend together and assumes the worse, or seeing an business-article about how much he and their future child is worth and then she's running away cause she assumes the worst again. Daisy really thought she was just a business transaction for Kyle's company. Hello really? Instead of talking to him like an adult, she's buying a plane ticket back to Chicago. No just hell no.

Two stars therefore solely for the epilogue it was pretty cute to finally see the children and how Daisy and Kyle deal with parenthood and Kyle himself. Even though I don't think it's cute to steal your one night stand camera and never return it, he was a pretty decent guy. This book is meant to be a light rom-com, while it was a light read, the humour in it wasn't for me. But take my rating with a grain of salt cause even though it was not my cup of tea it may be yours (most people love it from the reviews I read so I'm in the minority here).

Daisy unlike her sunshine inspiring name comes off as bitter and super sarcastic. Which typically is my cup of tea. Hell, it’s like looking in a mirror.

But this girl has so many preconceived notions about Kyle and the fact that she never minds sharing each and every one of those ideas makes her come off as a real bitch.

Yet, as the story progressed Daisy both grew on me and mellowed out. Plus, the flip side of her astringency was pure hilarity and this need to do right by everyone she cares about, especially the baby in her belly.

Kyle on the other hand had me from the get go. He’s funny af, plus charming, loving and caring. Like holy hell, where are all the Kyle’s of the world? And the fact that he not only put up with Daisy’s nonsense with ease but always managed to spin it in the positive? Gah, stick a fork in me because I am done!

Witty, super cute, sexy as sin are only a few things to describe this delightful read. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer.

Jana Aston never fails to make me laugh out loud while reading her books.

Dick-diet? 🤣

Daisy was so unapologetically herself! I wish I could be more like her - minus the accidental pregnancy and marriage thereafter. And Kyle, our sweet family man from 1950s who is a dirty bastard... not. Oh, too many hormones. And of course we have Tubbs-McGee. I wish I could have one. But the threat of being homeless is the only thing keeping me from hot having one of those. Oh, how much I love pets, even though I don't have one...

Anyways, can't get enough of his author. Would be back with Vegas Billionaire series.

Jana Aston is my go-to-girl for stories with a little edgy humor and sassy, sarcastic heroines - and while this story started off promising it lacked some of the passion of her previous reads and got a little flat, uninspiring and possibly (do I dare say) boring towards the finish .

It was quick and easy reading.
HOWEVER - I did think that Jana could have done more with the character development of both her MC's and also the whole ONS and then heroine finds out that she is pregnant scenario.

Daisy
........Anyway, the point is, I recycle—and when someone knocks me up, I tell him. Even though he fucked up his job with the condom. It's just like a man to fuck up the job with long-term consequences while excelling at the one providing instant gratification, isn't it?.......

Kyle's character definitely seemed a little too one dimensional IMO, I never really got a true sense of him. I also never really understood the love connection between him and Daisy, they just seemed to be lacking that "special" chemistry or "cerebral" connection.

Daisy was very much the "prototype" quirky, bubbly heroine that Jana excels at writing but even she seemed to disappear towards the end of the book, not exactly a stepford wife but more like a less smart version of the original.

DON'T GET ME WRONG.....I laughed out loud plenty while reading this book and I also didn't want to put my kindle down last night and go to sleep....I just wanted to keep reading more even though it was getting late.....and overall I guess I did enjoy it quite a lot.....but still.....it just felt a little incomplete........lacking......missing.....that's all I am saying!!!!!!

Well, suffice it to say, I was not the biggest fan of this one.

First of all, there was so much exposition, it felt more like reading a diary than a novel. Like, of course there needs to be some inner dialogue here and there but in this book, it completely took over.

(some minor spoilers ahead)

Moreover, while Daisy and Kyle had some nice moments, I wasn't sold on their romance. Daisy went from being absolutely furious with Kyle and wanting nothing to do with him, to marrying him in five hot seconds. At the same time, Kyle went from calling Daisy a, I quote, "crazy f*cking b*tch" to proposing to her in even less time. And at the end of all of it, it turned out he LOVED HER ALL ALONG, from their very first meeting, because why would you want to write about a relationship where feelings develop organically and in a realistic way 🙃

Anyway, this author and I might just not be a good match and that's it, let's move on.

4 Tubbs McGee FTW Stars

I’d been waiting for this! Not only for Daisy’s story, but also THAT CAMEO! Woot woot!
Plan B is everything I’ve come to expect from Jana Aston. It’s funny, sexy, filled with great banter, and was a quick enjoyable read!

Here’s what I loved:
Daisy is hilarious! A spitfire who’s also a teensy bit crazy. Those jazz hands! Lolol
She is certainly my kind of girl. I thoroughly enjoyed her shenanigans!
Kyle is sexy, sweet, and such a great guy! Absolutely the kind of guy you’d want to knock you up accidentally! Sweet isn’t usually my jam, but it works well for this story.
The secondary characters we’re a huge hit for me. Namely Tubbs, whom Daisy dotes on throughout. I loved their interactions! But also Kerrigan! I’d love to see her got a story too.
Again.....that cameo was life. Dr. Luke, my all-time favorite Jana Aston character. One of the first BBFs I claimed! I Loved it!
The storyline is great. There are several lol moments. It’s classic Jana Aston!

My only tiny critiques involve the first few chapters and the conflict. The conflict was a smidge too easy and very quickly resolved. The constant inner monologue at the beginning of the book, slowed the pace for me. Neither were major issues, but rather a small concern.

Overall, whether you love this author’s writing or you’re a first time reader, this rom-com will entertain!

“I think I’m falling in love with my wife.”

DNF 41% The only word to describe this book is stupid. Stupid characters and a stupid set up. I couldn’t connect at all with the main characters and they lacked chemistry and substance with each other. I also didn’t like the writing style. In the first 10% of the book we’re told what’s happening by the h and not shown, which I hate. The h also likes to talk to the reader and ask stupid questions which just increased my annoyance with her. Good on you h for going on and on about how sexy it is for a guy to recycle, but no, it doesn’t give me a lady boner. I could go on more about what’s wrong with this book but frankly I’ve wasted enough of my time.

Cute, sexy and really fun-to-read rom-com. Loved both lead characters and all the secondaries, too -- especially Tubbs-McGee! From start to finish and including a delightful happy-ever-after Epilogue, this one kept me smiling ear-to-ear!

I got to about half way, and it was still meh, not improving. I started skimming, then decided not to waste my time any longer at about 70% or so. Sadly, I just didn't care about either of the MCs......

Cliche tropes. Potty mouth h. I dislike it when MCs use the F-word in casual conversation, especially in this kind of light rom-com type read. All might have been OK if I actually liked the characters, but..... This one is just not for me.

NO NO NO NO
