For anyone travelling to York or from the city I would recommend reading this book. It's highly detailed and you can tell a lot of research has gone into putting this together. York has many, many spooky tales associated with being one of the most haunted cities in the country and this book goes into detail about some of the most well-known ones such as the ghost of the Cock & Bottle and the soldiers marching through the cellar of the Roman Baths. But it also includes many, many unknown stories and not just the story of what the ghosts do, what people have seen but the detailed story leading up to their deaths. Full of murders, duels and suspicious activity this is a fun read!

Superb haunted history book, a lot of research seems to have gone into the writing of this book. I recommend reading it before you visit York.
