Etruscan and Early Roman Architecture

Rate this book
Axel Boethius's account begins about 1400 B.C. with the primitive villages of the Italic tribes. The scene was transformed by the arrival of the Greeks and by the Etruscans who by about 600 had Rome and Central Italy under their cultural spell.

Lots of details about Etruscan and Roman architecture before roughly 70 BCE. In the edition I got from the library all the photos are black & white and somewhat small (as is the font used for the text). If you aren't familiar with architectural lingo, you'll probably want to find the glossary in the back before you are halfway through the book like I did :)
