At the end of a long snowy day, a young girl waits for her father to come home from work. She imagines great a snow castle, a feast, dancing—all attended by a host of animal characters. But her father is late. Where in the world can he be? The snow princess mounts her steed and flies off on a quest to find her father and guide him home.
So I got this book because it looked like it had good pictures- it does. the story line is just basic- nothing too special, just a girl waiting for her Dad to come home. it's pretty much a sentence on a page with a picture of reality and then the next 2 pages are what she imagines. I would get it again for the pictures, especially if I was reading to a girl.
If your daughter loves princesses and you're a bit of a feminist, this is one of the more tolerable "princess" books, with a girl imagining a princess who rides dragons to set out to get her father instead of a princess who waits to be rescued.
While the little girl is waiting outside in the snow for her daddy to get home from work her imagination is grand! Snow castle, snow animal lords and ladies and even a big (nice) dragon! Not a lot of words and the drawings and story are fantastic!
Great combo of imaination and play. Little girl is waiting for her daddy to come home. My girls loved this one and spent hours looking at the pictures.
